Excellent value restaurant. Authentic and delicious Japanese dishes consistently come out of this humble kitchen run by an extremely friendly owner. This is my go-to spot for a quick bite around lunch time. The noodles, sushi, and squid dishes are especially great! A must try spot if you enjoy Japanese fast food as I do. Better than most comparable places on Sawtelle in my opinion.

This is definitely a little hole in the wall that blew my mind and tastebuds! My bf and I were visiting the Venice area for the day and looked up good fast food in the area and found Tokyo Fast Food. The price was GREAT and the amount of food you get was more than I could eat! The woman at the front counter was super sweet and friendly and their prices weren't bumped up because of coronavirus (like every other eatery). This place is definitely a gem. You can't beat the price, especially in this area where food is usually expensive!

Superb teishoku and classic meal Japanese restaurant. Reminiscent of my times in Japan; the they are so friendly, kind, and really care about quality and client satisfaction. Food is delicious across the entire menu. I really love the mix fry if you’re looking for a starting point but you can’t go wrong with almost any menu choice. Very small restaurant. You might even miss it if you don't know where it is. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant inside looks clean. They also have a shelf with manga which I am not sure if they let you just read while you eat but it's there so if you ask I am sure they will let you know if customers can read or not. Now on to the food; it was surprisingly good! I really liked everything that I ordered and their tempura is also really good.

Great sushi at great price. Sushi is fresh and delicious! Only 3.25 per set of 2. I highly recommend this place if you want to catch something on the go. Of course, you have to figure out how to eat it on the go. Go for it.

I ordered a combo plate of Chicken Teriyaki and Beef Teriyaki. It was reasonably cheap (below $14 including tip) for a combo plate with steamed rice, sliced oranges and blanched bean sprouts. Within 5 minutes, my order was ready. The owner was very cordial that she brought my order to my table. The Chicken Teriyaki was perfectly grilled, glazed, tender and the sauce was not too salty unlike other chain restaurants. The beef was thinly sliced and coated with the same teriyaki glaze. However, the beef's texture was fragile that it could have been more tender and meatier. The bean sprouts were just right and perfectly seasoned in sesame oil. Tokyo Fast Food is a great spot for quick authentic Japanese food fixings. I'll definitely return to try their sushi, tempura and other teriyaki dishes. They make their plates fresh, hot and on the spot in the Westside!

I was craving tonkatsu and came here and was SO satisfied! The lady at the counter was so sweet and reminded me of my mom, and the tonkatsu was delicious and crispy! It also came with a croquette which i was not expecting, and it was honestly the best one i’ve ever had; so delicate and light and crispy!! 10/10 recommend :))

Yes we have a lot of options like Nobu or other high priced sushi spots which are great for social media posting but for simple down to earth meals they wont disappoint. A bit of advise you can substitute for Brown rice, skinless chicken, or ask for it well done.

I’ve lived a few blocks from these restaurant for years and honestly didn’t even know it was there till recently. I stopped in a few nights ago to get a to go order and I admit this place is a fun little hidden gem in the West LA area. Walking in you definitely feel like you walked into a hole in the wall restaurant straight out of the late 80’s, early 90’s. All the teal and white coloring gives the place a retro look. The staff was super friendly and didn’t try to rush me to order. Ordering was a bit tough as their menu is spread out across nearly three walls. Most of the items have pictures of the food, but several things I had to ask about. So unless you know what you want going in, it may take a few mins to go through the entire menu. Still it was easy to order once I figured out what I wanted. There isn’t a ton of seating and tables, but I was able to find somewhere to wait after placing my order. They seemed busy the night I went in as it took about 30-35 mins for my order to be ready which is totally fine as it was all made fresh which I appreciate. I went simple and just got their Beef Teriyaki Dinner and a side of the Vegetable Tempura. The food was all good, though I wish there was some more pieces of the Tempura given the price point. Sides that, all of it was tasty and I am glad I finally checked this local neighborhood staple out!

FOOD I had a serious ramen craving tonight. For twice the price and a brutally long commute, I could've gone to Daikokuya over by Downtown LA for the best ramen in LA, but tonight I was feeling something "cheap and decent." And Tokyo Fast Food did just the trick. I had the Tonkatsu Ramen with extra Chashu (added $0.50, not bad for 2 extra slices). For the price (just a little over $7), it was quite good. The broth wasn't nearly as fatty-satisfying as Daikokuya, but I'd say it's just a hair below Asahi (over on Sawtelle) for less $. I'll take that on most nights. My friend had the Tokyo Special. He said it was pretty decent too. Again, for the price, pretty darn good and excellent quantity. I'm bringing my own soup spoon next time, because they only handed me a plastic spoon, haha. ENVIRONMENT Parking wasn't too bad, but then again we went at 7:15pm on a Thursday. I'd expect parking to be worse at a more peak time. So watch out for that. I liked the homey/hole-in-the-wall feel. I had the Tokyo special which consists of chicken teriyaki, tempura, California rolls and your choice of miso soup, ice cream or an egg roll. For $10.40 after tax, it's a LOT of food. Flavorwise, this place is decent, nothing special but definitely filling and good enough to satisfy. I would come back. And try their other dishes too. Btw, a chicken teriyaki bown is $4.95. That. Is. Cheap!

Great value of good food for reasonable prices.

Really good value and portion sizes! The service was excellent and there was plenty to choose from on the menu. Probably better to order takeout than to eat in if you have a large group of people!

For the price of the place it doesn't get much better, and the staff is extremely friendly, including remembering who you are and your order. Parking isn't the best and space is very limited, but they have a plethora of Japanese comfort food options, and some very un-aurhentic options for those who might not be a fan of the food. Their meals come with rice, veggies, pickles and more on the side so it'd quite filling.

I visited this place for the first time I got the chicken and beef teriyaki. I didn’t like the beef but the chicken was all right and the sauce I mean they can do better sauce. It was too watery and also they are charging 50 Cent for soy sauce. definitely not going back

However, today I had a horrible experience! It was one of the most racist and most hostile environments I have ever faced in a restaurant! The young male behind the cash register, taking orders was not welcoming in any way and extremely rude to colored customers. We witnessed him be pleasant with all the guests that were Asian/Caucasian. I brought my family here in hopes of having an amazing meal as I have been for the past 12 years to support this small business. It was horrible to have my young children be faced with this kind of racist behavior, especially in 2024!
