Opinions de Hanna Los Gatos
Posted late, but the memory is fresh and sacred.* This review is long overdue—I meant to post it on September 2, the night my son and I came in for dinner right before closing. It was his birthday, but he had wrestling practice until 8 PM, and we live way up in the San Francisco/Berkeley area. Hanna was one of the few places still open past 8:30 on a weekday in Los Gatos, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. We arrived just as the kind waiter was starting to clean up, but he welcomed us with such warmth and grace that we felt instantly at ease. We ordered a feast—pho, short ribs, green papaya salad, and spring rolls—and sat outside under the quiet night sky, grateful for a place that didn’t rush us out the door. In a beautiful twist of fate, the server turned out to be a former member of the same wrestling program my son is in. He offered encouragement and camaraderie that made the night feel even more special. It wasn’t just a meal—it was a moment of connection, legacy, and celebration. And the food? Absolutely delicious. We were genuinely surprised by how authentic and flavorful everything was—especially given our assumptions about Los Gatos being a mostly white neighborhood. Hanna defied those expectations with bold flavors, tender meats, and fresh ingredients that honored the culinary traditions they’re inspired by. The pho was rich and comforting, the short ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the green papaya salad was crisp and vibrant, and the spring rolls were fresh and satisfying. Every dish felt intentional, not rushed, even though we were the last table of the night. Hanna isn’t just a noodle bar—it’s a place where birthday dinners, post-practice hunger, and unexpected encouragement converge. It’s where authenticity meets kindness, and where even a late-night meal becomes a memory worth archiving.
I visited Hannah Noodle Bar on Tuesday night, September 2, after my son’s wrestling practice at Los Gatos High School. It was his birthday, and I really wanted to take him somewhere special for dinner. We arrived shortly before closing, and while there were plenty of options in the area, I’m so glad we chose Hannah. Our server—either John or Dan (apologies, I’m awful with names)—was incredibly gracious. Even though he was already cleaning up and preparing to close, he welcomed us without hesitation. He told us we were welcome to stay as long as we liked, as long as we didn’t mind him tidying up around us. His warmth and generosity made us feel truly cared for. As it turns out, he was also a wrestler at Los Gatos High, in the same program as my son. That connection made the evening even more meaningful. His character shone through—not just in his service, but in the way he honored our presence and made space for celebration, even at the end of a long shift. And the food? Fantastic. We had the pho, beef ribs, papaya salad, and spring rolls. I grew up in Chinatown—my mom and dad are both chefs—so I’ve been wary of places that feel like whitewashed versions of Asian cuisine. I was wrong about Hannah. The flavors were rich, authentic, and beautifully balanced. I was thrilled. Five stars for Hannah Noodle Bar. Ten stars for our server. Thank you for turning a late-night birthday dinner into a moment of connection, comfort, and joy.
We had 12 guests for my birthday dinner. Guest trickled in and we had a steady flow of food. We celebrated with balloons and cake. The food and staff outstanding making it a great celebration..Visit you will not be disappointed.
We had beef pho and yellow curry chicken. The beef was tender and clean tasting , the rice noodle was Al dente. The chicken curry was also tasty. We are very happy to discover this little gem in Los Gatos and will be our go to place for Vietnamese cuisine. The Vietnamese coffee was also nice and strong.
The food here is clean and wholesome; I don't feel the drag or heaviness I get when I go to other Vietnamese restaurants. And the taste is very authentic; my girls love coming here. Some of our favorites are the spring rolls, beef pho, and banh mi. I also wanted to post a big thanks to the staff today (which I didn't get the name of, I think he might have been the manager). They are always very attentive but today was especially critical. My little one was playing with the chairs and got her finger stuck and if it weren't for the fast action of the staff with helping me flip the chair the situation would have been much worse. Thank you!
Their vegan pho is the best I've had so far in the Bay Area and comparable to what I had in Vietnam recently. I also love their avocado rice paper rolls! (also Vegan) Plenty of options for Meat Lovers too. Our waitress was friendly and it's a beautiful atmosphere. Love the velvet booth seating.
Terrific food, quality product, creative, healthy, fresh, have tried this location 5x and each meal has been very good to great. The pricing is a bit high but I think it’s worth it. I rated the service a 4/5 because there have been a couple instances where service was spotty. Overall very fond of this place - worth a try!

Come here first time as we want to go to North restaurant and found out it was closed permanently. We order pho beef noodles, papaya salad, and barbecue pork cold noodles. The food is authentic. I missed bun cha ha noi in North restaurant. The server brought out the pho and take tooo long for the vege and sauce to come. Pho they gave very little vege (a bit spring sprout and only 5 green leaves! Unlike the pho We ordered from Vietnam town where we can get good amount of fresh leaves), the broth is awesome. Too bad they give way too little vege. the service is too slow even there are only a few customers. Barbecue pork is decent but not as good as they did in bun cha Ha Noi where we had in North restaurant.
New opening restaurant in LGS! The restaurant has delicate environment and Vietnamese flavored food. I feel the dishes are small and are not appropriate to the starving person.
The food is quite decent - ordered the banh mi sandwich with ube coffee.. the coffee isn’t super sweet which is nice. Not sure about other reviews on this but my server was Nicole and she was great! Nice, polite and thoughtfully offered to bring my Pandian waffle out after I was done you my sandwich so it’d still be hot. Overall a nice little spot to hang. I will be back!
Highly suspicious if it's authentic Vietnamese because the decor is so modern. Ordered the fresh bowl with onion beef roll with fried roll, spicy peanut sauce - Now I know they are authentic. Beef green onion roll was very flavorful. I can tell the marinate is also authentic Vietnamese style marinate. Probably use fish sauce etc. Taste good. But too much salads, not enough vermicelli. I think I preferred original fish sauce dressing better. Fresh bowl with grilled pork - same thing. Pork was marinated well, flavorful. Vietnamese coffee - pretty good. Authentic as well. But the proportion of condense milk is slightly off. I also preferred less ice and more concentrated coffee. All in all, good Vietnamese place. Disclaimer: What makes a good Vietnamese restaurant is their soup for pho. I didn't try that.

I have had a consistently great experience have come here over the last few years. Food is always excellent, staff welcoming. I tried the Vietnamese tacos with fish last time I was there and they were phenomenal. Fish is not the default option on the menu, so you may ask for them. Definitely worth it. I love the indoor outdoor seating and all the menu options. It is a bit pricey, but you are getting what you pay for.

I’m a big fan of pho and usually enjoy it at least once a week. The ordering process here is really convenient and completely touchless, which I appreciated. I ordered the chicken pho, but I was disappointed by the portion size – it’s smaller than what I’m used to, especially considering the price, which is higher than the larger bowls I’ve had elsewhere. The flavors were decent, but overall, it felt overpriced for what you get. But hey - it's a free market.

Whoa! $80 for two appetizers and two main dishes, %15 tip, and no drinks. The food tasted good, and service was friendly. They served on plastic plates and bowls and plastic drinking glasses, and they got my order wrong. My husband's noodle bowl with tofu was only half full and my fresh rolls were tiny, so serving size is small for the price. The food tasted fresh except my fermented radish tasted musty.

Stopped by Hanna for a dinner. Two of us ordered: -korean short ribs $18.95 -cool bowl $19.50 -one with rice -one with vermicelli I definitely recommend vermicelli over rice for a lighter meal. Unfortunately, my rice bowl had a hair and I did bring it up to staff and they didn't really say anything. Going into the evening and the next morning, had a stomach ache. Nice seating, but food and service was a bit of a miss for me.
Photo is of raw chicken I realized I was chewing on in the crispy roll. Yuck. Pho was underwhelming. $35 for two items.

52 dollars for a bowl of ramen. 4 spring rolls smaller than your finger and a can of soda. Sauce was watered down and tasted like nothing. Will never come back. Ramen was the most average flavored ramen I’ve had. Only saving grace was the meat.

I had high hopes for this place as it is relatively close. I was a little underwhelmed by the experience. First off. The interior, while modern is an absolute ice box. I mean. Come on. When its barely warmer than outside it really deters from the dining experience. The staff was friendly although it was fairly apparent they didnt reallk know what was going on. We ordered 2 Pho Ga 1 Pho Chay and 1 Tonkatsu Ramen. I had the Ramen and was disappointed. The egg was overcooked, no naruto (pink swirl star fish cake heaven) for those that dont know what it is. There was a full bok choy cut in ½ just thrown into the bowl. The whole look was unappealing. Taste was average but for $18 I'd expect not only traditional but pretty dang good. The Pho was also average. Now to the service. 1 gentleman was great. The other seeming to be a manager was disinterested at best. The one bowl he brought for my son ended up spilling not only on my kid but himself. He ended up shaking the broth off his hands not only on the ground/ table but also back into my sons bowl. That is absolutely disgusting. This individual barely muttered an apology. We were at this time the only clients so its not like there was a huge rush. I honestly am disappointed in the overall experience especially for $100 +. I truly hope this place figures some things out and can grow.
1 star review: PROs: Outdoor seating available Beautiful artwork/decor Cons: -Overly priced (4 Mini eggrolls for $15, even had to ask for extra greens) -Rubbery meat (even complained about it and just got a sorry) -FLIES!!! FLIESSSS FLIESSSS EVERYWHERE! I felt like I was in Cambodia trying to eat while swatting flies away from my food and face. -I told the server about the flies and asked why they didn't have one of those fly/insect deterrent things (that blow air or has the blue light) by the front door and was told "its an eye sore" Soooo, its better to have your patrons be uncomfortable than install something effective that may be an "eye sore" ?? Customer service: she was nice but didn't really try to make our visit any better after complaining. Overall, won't return!
