Opinions de Pastaria Market Los Gatos
It's a amazing hidden gem in Los Gatos. Really good dishes: soups, pastas, tiramisu. Good portion size. Servers are the best in Bay area, better than fine dining restaurants, helping, assisting, caring. We really enjoyed our time here.
Had a great experience at The Pastaria & Market! The food was good and comforting. But the real standout was the super friendly staff who made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we walked in. The vibe is super laid-back and relaxed, making it a perfect spot to unwind. Don’t leave without trying the frozen rosé—seriously, it's a must! Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for great food and even better atmosphere.
Sat in the back, definitely a vibe.. Sarah was great, total sweetheart. Food was amazing. Had a little of everything but the truffle pasta, delicious.
My wife loves pasta, and I wanted to find her something a little more special, so I decided we would try here for a birthday dinner. Slam dunk choice really: What a fantastic little pasteria! The fresh pasta really shines through and puts the dried stuff to shame. We loved both our pasta dishes, the Tagliatelle & Truffle Cream sauce and Pasta Primavera. I imagine it's probably hard to go wrong with any of their pasta, on top of the fresh pasta, the seasonings and cooks were perfection. For appetizers the Melted Brie & Roasted Garlic is to die for, and something I now definitely want to try myself at home. I do recommend they fully cut the bread served with it, the whole half cut "boat" thing was awkward to deal with. The Polenta Fries were also good, especially with the Calabrian Pepper Jelly, but we felt the fries themselves needed a little more salt. And for dessert we were a little disappointed with the Olive Oil Pistachio Cake (still decent), but the Gelatos were top notch! This place is now on our radar and I suspect we'll be coming back soon.
One of the best restaurants I have EVER been to. I try my hardest to come here when I am in town. I have eaten here a few times per year and every single time it has been amazing. The staff is absolutely amazing. The owner Donna is usually there and I was a little shocked how the last few times she said hi to my family and knew who we were. So it does get busy and it’s a small place. I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation. Weston is hands down the best waiter I have ever had. If at all possible ask for him. Both cooks make incredible food. I always get the pasta primavera, but anything on the menu will blow your mind! Please eat here if you are ANYWHERE near here. I know live in another state and have dreams about the food here and whenever I am in town I try to eat here. This month, December of 2023 I ate here twice while visiting family for the holidays and both times were perfect. They make their pasta from scratch daily, they respect and work with people who have food allergies or sensitives. Two of my family don’t eat gluten and their gluten free pasta is not only the best around, but they will boil it separately and they have gluten free crackers for the appetizers. Do yourself a favor and eat here. Even if you are gluten free. It’s amazing.
Been trying to avoid this place bc we have our favorite Italian places, AND after reviewing Yelp photos, we were a little skeptical of their rich and creamy pastas. Decided to dine here on a random Tuesday and sure glad we did. Even for a Tuesday night, it was pretty busy. We had reservations and were seated pretty quickly. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a tall young lady whose name I did not get. She had a warm smile and quickly took us to our table, where Sidney greeted us and took our drink orders (no hard alcohol that I could see, just wine, beer and bubbles). I opted for a glass of prosecco, which was $12 and filled to the brim; the hubby had a beer from a brewery he liked. We ordered a pizza (prosciutto w/balsamic glaze) and pasta (tagliatelle bolognese) to share; this was more than enough. Don’t think there was complimentary bread, but it was not needed. The portions here are big and I’m pretty sure the pastas are handmade. For dessert we shared a sundae, simple yes, but super tasty. The brownie and ice cream were made of good quality. Food was really good, and service was even better; thanks Sidney for having a great smile and being so attentive. Pretty good vibes too. Great for a date night, family night or even business eats. Will be back for sure!
the gnocchi was SO good! truly the best one i’ve tried. gnocchi tends to have a bit of an odd aftertaste… a little acidic.. bitter… it’s hard to describe but this one had none of that. the other food was good too but the gnocchi… that’s a must!
Oh we lucky people! The Pastaria is now open at lunchtime. Lady Luck walked us by the restaurant and we decided to give it a try. Yea! Yeh! Glad we did. The kale and shaved fennel salad was perfect. Krunchy Kale. Strips of fennel. Tomatoes. And more. Our house made pasta was bathed in a very light tomato sauce with meat. Not overly salty and very tasty. The polenta cake looked scrumptious but we were too full to order it. I exhibited amazing self control by not ordering the cannoli but I will give in to temptation next time! A smooth cup of Lavazza coffee topped it off just right. Service is top notch. Thanks Westin (hope I got your name right). The decor is nice and fun at the same time. Ya gotta try it folks!
Exceptional food and atmosphere, big shoutout to our server Wes who was so kind and friendly, he really added so much to the experience here. The pastaria is one of my wife's favorite restaurants, and I will definitely be back again!
The food and service is excellent. We overdid it on the cream a bit, starting with the roasted garlic and Brie appetizer which is amazing but very large for 2 people, my wife then proceeded with the tortellini in cream sauce, also excellent but quite heavy. I had the walnut pesto linguine, a different taste then pesto dishes I’d had in the past and quite enjoyable. The interior of the restaurant is very small and even though we had reservations we had to wait a bit and there really isn’t any place to do that waiting. The front desk folks seems harried and frantic when we arrived but once we were seated all went smoothly. The interior is a bit kitschy with everything faux painted. But all in all a great dining experience.
The best fresh pasta in town! I can't say enough about how delicious the Pastaria & Market is. The staff are friendly and always have great recommendations. The new location has indoor and outdoor seating. We love to stop in for lunch or dinner, reservations are recommended, there can be a bit of a wait, it's worth it tho. The wood fire pizza is great for sharing, as well as the many appetizers on the menu, but we come for the pasta.

OMG. So good. I got the pasta primavera and it was to die for. Loved our waiter. Love the atmosphere too, though I can't give it 5 stars as I reserve that for the very best. The two-seater table next to the wall at first seemed cramped because you sit very close to the people next to you. But we started talking to them and that made it even more fun. You're still far enough away to keep your conversation private. My favorite new Italian restaurant.
Excellent trattoria style food. Nice wine selection. The service is terrific (thank you Sarah and Emily). The gnocchi was our table’s favorite entree. All were great, including the chicken parmigiana, bolognese, and pizza
Our food was amazing definitely get the Brie appetizer! Also Carrie was amazing and helped us get our food boxed and everything even though she wasn’t on shift. They definitely wanted to make sure we were taken care of even though they were super busy. Will be back :)
Westin and Cari are absolute rockstars. 10/10 service. We had the best time of our lives here. Amazing food, awesome atmosphere. Highly recommend. Thank you Westin and Cari !!!!

Another Los Gatos gem. The pappardelle I had wasn’t my favorite but everyone else’s dishes were very good. They had a special pumpkin ravioli that will definitely be missed after the holiday season. Really nice vibe too.

Delectable, Unassuming !!! An experience that will rock your senses. Will never oust my favorite dish. The thin pasta was tender, with a nice bite, seafood was fresh with notes of the sea. Yet all the ingredients together with the sauce, are an explosion of flavor. Plate was served hot, steaming perfectly for a chilly night . Thus far the only word to use is Exquisite.
The food was freat. The atmosphere was amazong. The server and the front desk were very kind and helful. There was, however, too long of a wait for the food to be ready since there was a private party in the back. They were nice to offer a free drink to make up for it but it was way too long. Other than this little thing, it was a very good Italian restaurant.
Had a great experience in Los Gatos — the food was solid, but the service really stood out. Sophia was hands-down one of the best servers I’ve ever had: friendly, attentive, and made everything feel easy and welcoming. I had the bar pizza and the tagliatelle pasta, both of which were really well done — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The pacing of the meal was just right, and the atmosphere was relaxed but lively. It’s the kind of place you’d come back to not just for the food, but for how well you’re treated. If you’re in the area, definitely worth a visit — and if you’re lucky enough to have Sophia as your server, even better.
Lovely little Italian restaurant, with very attentive and friendly personnel. Our waitperson was Donna. The atmosphere is cozy and the seasonal was very festive. My friend and I visited on Wednesday for lunch. We were promptly seated. We shared the Fall Salad which was beautifully prepared, and served dressed. We also shared the Seafood Linguine. There was plenty of.seafood to share, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The cream sauce was delicious and did not overpower the seafood flavor. The wine menu included a nice selection. We shared some champagne and took home the bottle. I also ordered the caramel apple spritzer as "dessert". It was not as flavorful as I had hoped, tasting mainly of spritzer. The caramel, had it been mixed in, would have elevated the drink. Would definitely return for another visit.

Disappointed! This food had very little to do with Italian food:( Margarita pizza was flat and old, not freshly made ! Gnocchi was with too many flavors and distractions The only decent food were the salads…
Great atmosphere and excellent location, right in the heart of Los Gatos downtown. I recommend making a reservation to get a table, this place does get busier so walking are gonna be hard. The food was good but we didn’t get the authentic Italian taste, the flavors were lacking to be honest. We have been to other Italian places recently and we had much more flavorful margherita pizza which wasn’t the case here. The chili garlic bread didn’t really have any chili in it. The pasta sauce was really amazing, loved the taste of it. Overall it’s a good restaurant but I wish the pizza was more flavorful.

Visited The Pastaria & Market on a Sunday, and the place had a great vibe—especially with the festive Christmas-season atmosphere. We tried the following dishes: • Melted Brie & Roasted Garlic – 3/5 • Burrata Pizza with Chicken – 4/5 • Walnut Pesto Linguine with Chicken – 2/5 (felt a bit bland; this was my first time trying this style at an Italian restaurant, so I’m not sure if that’s typical) Overall, the food was good and seemed freshly made. The ambiance and freshness definitely stood out.

I recently visited The Pastaria & Market. To give credit where it’s due the staff was accommodating and helpful with table arrangements and seating, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The food was a big disappointment. The Margherita pizza was tasteless yet somehow overly salty at the same time. The focaccia “serving” was especially confusing a small, hard piece of bread hidden under a mountain of leaves. I’m still not sure what the concept was supposed to be. The pasta wasn’t good either, despite being presented as something special. Overall, the food felt completely disconnected from what you’d expect from Italian cuisine. We left disappointed.
