Love this place! Burgers are tasty. Everyone there is friendly and helpful.

1/21/20 11:51pm The male staff was great the female behind the counter was okay. Food was great. I wish they had clean tables for being slow. Patty was cooked great on for the party melt. Zuchini fries were excellent. Last Sunday the female staff member was better but also a different person.

Great food, great people great value... the day I visited I wasn't paying attention really to aesthetic of the restaurant until I heard screaming looked up and they were watching a shark movie. I was ecstatic being a horror fan/shark attack movie fan.. if I wasn't picking up a Togo order I'd totally would've stayed and enjoyed my meal while watching lol..

The patty melt is stupid good! Got it to go and was planning on eating it later, but I took a bite and almost finished the whole thing!

Zucchini sticks are delicious. Catfish is also . Hamburger is good. Excellent service.

The gentleman who took our order was very kind and the food was very good! You can tell the cooks and the workers value their customers and their work place!

We went to dine in at Pete’s this past week, I ordered chicken strips, , okra and salad, my husband had their ground steak with corn n salad. Everything was perfectly cooked those chicken strips, let me tell you, I think they have THE BEST in town, and delicious, oh my! Please don’t EVER change where you get them from, the brand, or how you cook them! 😋😋😋We got our food on time, they were friendly, it was a GREAT experience! We are now on our way back over there! Yummy!

It’s just a basic burger, but it’s freaking good every single time. Would rather pay $13 for a combo here than for one at McDonald’s or some fast food joint. Nice homemade tasting burger and fries. The restaurant ain’t fancy or anything it’s old and could use a good update, but if you’re into small hole in the wall places with good fresh burgers, this is it.

Driving through TX, googled places to eat. Pete’s stuck out because of the variety on the menu. Husband got a pastrami sandwich with onion rings. Thick sandwich and the rings were fried to perfection. I really liked the pinic benches, it was nice to have a place to sit and eat that wasn’t the car.

What a yummy little diner place! It’s small and tastes like homemade grilled burgers. Everything was delicious, we got onion rings, tots, and bacon cheeseburgers! I would definitely recommend Pete’s drive inn #3 on Quaker & 34th

The burgers are really amazing. Especially for a hangover haha. And the poppers and fries are good as well. The service is not too bad. Only reason for the four stars is die the fish. Its not that great i think. But it's still a good place to go to

I gave it four stars only because one out of three CFS dinners are burnt. Otherwise; it would definitely be a five star. Great food at affordable prices and staff is always pleasant and super friendly. In this day and age, that is so refreshing. They don't treat you like they're doing you a favor. That's awesome in my book!

Good little burger spot on 34th. Was in the area and hungry, saw it and popped in. Their burgers are great, got the tots and regular cheeseburger 🍔. Was delicious, recommend if you are in the area looking for an old school burger joint.

I got the fried catfish platter and a double meat cheese burger to go at the drive through window. I spent more per person because I got two meals, one for right then and one for later. The catfish was excellent, just a tiny bit oily, but crisp, fries the same. The burger was fairly delicious, although I reheated the patties in my microwave, so that dried it out a bit. But the flavor was as good or better than McDonald's, lol. I prefer dealing with a local establishment than a chain franchise because our small businesses are the economies' backbone. Too bad I'm addicted to the caramel iced frappe coffee at MCDs, I just ordered sprite with my catfish for the perfect meal. Scarfed my food down before I remembered I could have taken a picture for my review, sorry.

Great place for a quick bite for lunch I had the Frito pie which was not the best my friend had the burger which turned out to be very good from what he said.

Drive thru was odd. You pull up to a window and order, they tell you your number, you drive back around to the front and park. They then call your number through a speaker and you drive back through the drive thru. When they called numbers while we were there, you barely heard the sound of the speaker and the end of the number their calling. So if our number was 67, you would hear “-even.” We weren’t filled with confidence but the food actually turned out great. The burgers were great and the rest of the food was good. Don’t regret eating from here at all.

Service was slow, fiance ordered a hamburger steak covered in gravy and onions and got corn, mashed potatoes bread and just ordered the hamburger steak. Told waiter that that is not what she ordered. They took it back and came back with what she initially ordered but the plate edge was dirty and not wiped down before they brought it back to her. Ms. Ann's Diner is and always has been better in my past experiences.

I used to love this place but lately the food has not been great. My husband and I stopped to get a snack. We waited for what seemed like forever and the mushrooms were not hot the crushed was over cooked. The cheese sticks had no chesse and both taste like they had been sitting for a while.

Not as a great experience as I remember from the first several times I've been. The building is pretty dusty and dirty on the inside. The food is not as delicious as it used to be. Tater tots were overcooked, burger was flavorless.

No flavor in the steak fingers. Paid over 10 dollars for a steak finger dinner and only got 3 steak fingers. Way overpriced. Pastrami way too salty. Burger quality has gone way down too. Way too expensive for what you get. Place used to be great now its not as good as chain fast food. Disappointing

Ordered a burger combo plain and dry with cheese added. Also, I ordered a lemonade since they didn't have any carbonated drinks due to not having any carbonation. The burger was plain and dry and didn't have cheese, although I got charged for it, and the lemonade had no sugar. First time going to a Pete's, and I really don't think I'll be going back. Hopefully, the staff are more attentive for future customers.

I'm not to much in a hurry to go back. Simply due to my burger wasn't as juicey An Hot. As I expected it for having it cooked on a grill. The tater tots were hard an fried an double fried. Never will order those again

Not the best not the worse the bacon was crispy in the burger but had nearly no mustard and the vegetables looked old. But didn't seem to affect the flavor it could improve but I would eat here again if I need something close and relatively quick . Bit I will say it's expensive for what it is

I thought it was like Pete's on East 34th with the delicious jumbo burgers and fries but it's nothing the same. They don't even have old fashioned jumbo burgers. My husband had the burger it was ok but the patties are like a charbroiled patty not a flat top pressed patty. I had the patty melt it was not toasted and smashed together like a patty melt should be it was basically a lightly toasted bread over buttered with a charbroil flavored beef patty and onions. Honestly Whataburger is way better!! The chicken strips were over cooked in a beer batter. The fried pickles were spears and fried in a panko type crust but they were not fried long enough because the batter was raw and slipped off the pickle. The staff wasn't friendly either before we were even done eating the 2 females were already standing at the door with their purse on their shoulder waiting to go out the door and it wasn't even 10:00 yet. I think it's over priced. If you really want the old fashioned burgers try Bonus burger, Tommy's, Pete's on 529 34th, Rachel's or Miss Ann's.

The quality of the food was 6/10 Friendliness 2/10 Cleanliness 3/10 My order was wrong. I paid for something else and they gave me a small cup of ice cream in its place instead of refunding me my money. Stating that that's all they could do. The ice cream was significantly less money than what I purchased. I understand the hassles of refunding people, but denying a refund is against any policy anywhere if it is at the fault of the restaurant. If you mess up and someone wants a penny refund, it is your job to do so. Employees scratch their heads and take selfies and then, handle your food without washing their hands. In a generation where phones are dirtier than toilets. With all of this Covid-19 stuff passing, I assumed, they would be taking proper precautions to ensure the publics safety. Last but not least, this Pete's is the worst with friendliness and customer service. I will be going to other locations from now on.

It's ok, but the cook microwaves his food and it shows. It's just sloppy food, and it's disappointing that this is the peak of doing your best. There was only four people in total inside. I'm paying for a service and got below par food from. Too bad not one person cares enough. I wonder if the owner has eaten the food from here unannounced. I suggest a take out order and see what your team serves the community. 🤢🤮

There were two people eating inside when I pulled up to the drive through window to order. I waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge me due to the young girl working being more concerned with her phone. Had to wait an additional 15 minutes for drinks because they had to change out the tanks. Poor service. My burger was burnt.

I just picked up a steak finger basket, and the mashed potato’s were instant mashed potato’s. They were super dry, and tasted odd as well. I’ve always liked their food not sure what was going on today.

There could not have been anymore grease on our food if it was poured on. So gross.

The service was great! They young lady was very professional. The food was ok, not what I expected. We went inside and it was not clean at all. This place needs some updating.

This place is close to the house and I had been going there once or twice a month for a couple of years. The food is hit and miss. The fries are usually miss and could benefit from another minute or two in the fryer. The burgers are OK... just good enough to justify the price, but it's certainly no bargain. The last time I went there I ordered at 2PM and walked out with my burger and fries at 2:47PM... no joke, 47 minutes. In the time I was sitting there I realized that the drive through was served at a nearly regular pace, but the inside customers all waited for ridiculous amounts of time (whether our food was eat-in or take-out). So I'm skipping the convenience of Pete's and driving an extra half mile for better food, better prices, and faster service.

I ordered a ft long corn dog with tater tots , and it came out dark.chili was dark or burned. Did not look appetizing.so I sent it back, ordered a club sandwich. Did not enjoy it. My Granddaughter ordered a kids small burger.how can you burn a 4oz patty! Pete's drive in was a great place to eat at. I wonder what happened to the place ? 🤔😔

Place always looks empty so decided to try them. 18$ for a regular double cheeseburger and fries combo. Not even a large, the burger was good, fries had no flavor and the drink was 85% ice. Two drink and the cup was empty (drive thru window) I will not be returning. Overpriced and very mid quality and food. Save yourself the disappointment

I don't want to give this review. I have always loved Pete's in Lubbock. But what I am paying for, does not in any way,shape or form resemble what I have received. I ordered a club sandwich. Easy right? The bread was soggy, there was zero crisp, almost like mush. Knowing this could have been cooked much better when ordered breaks my heart. Please look at this review and do better because I know yall can.

If you like your food served cold, and a bit on the tasteless side, then come on in for a delightful experience of getting your order called, and having to wait for 8 minutes as the cars that just pulled up place their orders. Or being put on hold for what seems like forever when you need to check on something. May be good food, but fresh it's not, which kind of kills it. Also, bbq pulled pork is not a bbq burger. (And it tasted like Manwich sauce, cold Manwich sauce at that)

Customer service is horrible. You ask for a combo, then you pay more for tots, why ask if the fries and tots are not the same. Then you are charged $.40 extra for a drink because you get cherry/limes in it, wow! Then you offer to give me .50 back. It wasn't about the money, it's the principal.

I called and placed a phone in order and when my husband went to pick it up they swore up and down that they didn't have an order for us and then proceeded to tell my husband that they had the right to refuse service and would NOT take his order. This is absolutely absurd, but unfortunately this is the type of customer "service" we've come to expect in Lubbock. How can they just refuse to take an order when they lost my order in the first place?!? How dumb do you have to be to refuse M.O.N.E.Y.??!? I'm sure the owner will love to hear how they're refusing to take peoples' orders!

My friend and I placed our order and sat down to wait for our food. Then an older man brought the orders to our table. My friend ordered a burger with no cheese, fries and onion rings...they ended up putting cheese on her burger! I ordered Bbq chicken wings and I got a BBq sandwich. I sent mine back and she went ahead and kept her cheese burger. I'm glad I wasn't in a hurry that day ..cause I had to wait for my order while my friend was almost done with her food. Food was good but service was horrible!

Ordered 3 burgers 2 fries and Mushrooms. The burgers had no flavor and the fries were soggy, and the mushrooms were burnt. Worst meal ive had in a long time. 1 star is too high for the quality of the food. Called to complain and the employee didnt even care just said "I am sorry, Okay!" Just an awful experience I will never be back. This place really went down hill.

It was the worst $32 meal that me and my wife and my mother law ever purchased in Lubbock. I will advise everyone to think twice before you eat there. I never have been so disappointed in a meal that I paid for in my lifetime. They really do need a new manager on site because one employee was taken orders and instead of fact checking our orders she went outside and sit in a vehicle and were talking to someone while she was on the clock. Terrible! If I could I would leave a 0 star review. My husband got the steak fingers and mashed potatoes and his mashed potatoes were cold. I Ordered the catfish and it wasn't even done. I also ordered fried okra with it and they brought me green beans. When I told them that they said "well we already gave you green beans so we are gonna have to charge you for the okra again". What??? So as you can tell not only was the food bad but the service was terrible to. Took them 15 minutes to even realize we were there. Never going back!

I wanted a really good hamburger today. It was hot, smelled great. Got the first bite. What the HECK--so much filler in the hamburger, I ended up throwing it in the trash. I wanted a good hamburger. Not something I didn't know what it was. The meat wouldn't break down in my mouth. Ugh. No more Pete's for me.

Worst experience ever! Wouldn't even rate this establishment a one star. Was taken here for an early mothers day lunch from my sister and when we got home our burgers were made wrong and there was a long black hair in my soda. When I called to tell the manager she said we would have to bring the food all the way up there to be fixed and would only comp a drink. What about the inconvenience you caused and the gas it would cost to bring the food that y'all made a mistake on back up there to be fixed? Poor customer service!

My son ordered the sampler and we were told that they were out of onion rings, so fries were ordered as a substitute. Then the cashier tells us that they are out of the wings, so my son ordered a simple BLT. And they even messed that up. I felt so disappointed because they normally have good food and service. If Lubbock county jail had a chili cheese dog that's the way it'd taste the food was nasty. I took a drink of my tea and this slimy substance came up from my cup tell me that they only fill up there tea container and not wash it. The lady didn't believe me. Didn't emty or take out the tea will never eat here again. She couldn't even say sorry right

Wow! What a waste of money! Spent $35 on 2 burger combos and a kids combo. Lettuce is soggy and brown, fried zucchini unrecognizable. Tastes like nothing. The kids burger was $6 and was the size of a silver dollar pancake. The fries were soggy and disgusting but the tater tots weren't bad! Wont be eating here again.

I don't even want to give one star, but I will for the front staff. The food was so BAD, process meat, very cheap quality. Club Sandwich and pastrami was not made with real meat, maybe mystery meat. I just looked at the 5 star reviews: someone paid them off to list a good review. Your better going to McDonalds , and getting something off the dollar meal.

Paid for items not received. Got home and half my order was not in the bag. Very dissatisfied. Not resolved by calling. Check your to go orders carefully. Take out is expensive and to not receive what you paid for is unacceptable.

I love the food here but the service is less than satisfying! I knew I would be getting out of work around 9:30 at night and was hoping I would make it in time to get food before they closed at 10. I have previously worked in food before so I decided to call them to place my order. I called around 9:40-9:45 knowing that it usually takes less than 15 minutes to make my food. My call was ignored the first time but once they answered they told me that they close at 9:40?! If this is the case then why not put it on Google? I was given the excuse that they needed to clean the restaurant which is why it says 10 which makes no sense. If it did, the restaurant I worked at would have let us lock the doors 20 minutes before to get a preclean in. I am very disappointed and have decided not to return.

No one greeted us when we walked in. Stood there for 10 minutes the old guy behind the counter looked confused, like he didn’t know what he was doing. Customers were complaining. Didn’t stick around just walked out and went somewhere better to eat.

The service was ridiculously negligent. It took over 5 minutes to have our order taken, 20 minutes to have our number called, then went to get the food in the drive in and were ignored at the window for 5 minutes till we went inside and was ignored till verbally approached the staff for number 78 and waited longer while the worker disappeared to the back for a while till finally returning with our meal. The staff was standing around and looked at us waiting multiple times only to ignore us. Never going back

Oh, Pete's Drive-In, where the chili cheese fries are like a treasure hunt – you need a map and a shovel to find any chili and cheese. I'm pretty sure I saw a single shred of cheese attempting a solo escape from the barren potato wasteland. And the burger? If 'bland' was a flavor, this burger would be its poster child. It's the kind of meal that makes you wonder if you accidentally signed up for a taste bud endurance challenge.

I've eaten there years ago and never had a problem. Food was always good. About 3 years ago though I went there to eat with my sister and her kids. As we were leaving my nephew asked for a drink refill. He said that he saw the woman spitting in his cup. I wonder if we all had been drinking her spit. We've never been back.

Ridiculously rude staff. Lady at the front desk tried to blame me because she got my order incorrect. She refused to try to make it right and slammed the window in my face. The food was overcooked too. Learn to hire staff that have manners. Maybe it's a management issue. Disgusting behavior

Do not bother to go there! The fries are horrible, they have no flavor, not even salt. Both my son and I thew them away! The burger is just OK, I feel Sonic burger would have been a better option. The fountain coke was so bad, I threw it away. It was watered down. The blue power aide was so weak that my son threw it away. A total waste of money, and we were hungry, it was late, and it was cold. I asked for light mayo light mustard, they gave me lots mayo, no mustard. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

Burgers were awful. Patties were so dry and burger mostly bread. Hardly any mayo, only 2 pickles (ask for xtra), and had the skinniest tomato I've ever seen. Owner/manager were so rude when confronted w/ how bad the burger was. I will never get Pete's again and if you don't want to waste $15 for a meal of the driest burger ever I suggest nobody go there.

Ordered a club sandwhich and got a hot, grilled, soggy, sandwich I couldn't even eat. The menu shows its a cold club sandwhich, and I've had many club sandwiches and all of them were cold. AND ordered chicken nugget kids meal and my grandson got a kids burger. We will not return to this place, and we will be telling everyone we know.

The food was OK. The people that work there suck Services no good if they make a mistake on your stuff, they expect you to go get it. The following day wants to eat the same stuff two days in a row. I give him a zero for everything they do and their service.

Pete’s on 34th & Quaker. Walked in and started coughing immediately. The ceiling was dripping and a panel missing. We ordered chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, green beans, French fries, fried okra and a cheeseburger. We got freezer burned steak fingers. The mashed potatoes were microwaved too long and was one solid chunk yellow on top and white underneath. The gravy was microwaved too long as well. Had a thick film over the top. The green beans were microwaved too long and were rubber. The burger was burned on one side. And the fries and okra had an old grease taste that was left in your mouth for a long time. We spent $50 on nasty food. That was our LAST time trying to go to this restaurant. The food and service used to be good. Not anymore!

I have been going there for close to 30 years and I ordered chicken strips today and paid over $18 and they were horrible it was like a full chicken breast that had a layer of crust over it and when you pick them up all the crust fell off. The food had no flavor at all! That will be my last time going there.

Pull up to the drive thru window no on e comes up but I see young girl sitting across on counter on the phone . I finally see the owner in the back which has ro walk over and tell young girl to take the order which she doesn't care so she takes her time to walk up by this time I am pissed and drive off . I took my business somewhere else but during these times if I were the owner I wouldn't be wanting to lose business for something stupid as this . Just remember Tommy's on university closed after 47yrs why because their employees were rude and they didn't care so get it together or yall will end up the same smh !

There was a hair in my food I am unable to use the phone number provided online to get ahold of anyone, my jalapeño poppers were fried so much to the point the cheese was gone, the French fries were undercooked and the bacon in my club sandwich was also undercooked as well the fried foods tasted as if the oil hadn’t been changed out. You know this is been a staple of food here in Lubbock for as long as I can remember I remember going into a drive-through on Avenue Q across the street from Lubbock national banking eating grilled cheese with my grandparents but now it’s a disgrace every time you call, you always got attitude of somebody who sounds so unappreciative of having their job to have a job They don’t close till 10 called in at 9:08 and the little girl says oh we don’t take all in order anymore so they’re not gonna let people pull up and order food either. She says we close at 9:30 in plain states It’s laziness and hopefully they replace this person and the management does something about it not a lot of money just bought $50 for four people maybe a little more but I don’t know who allows this as service

The food was not good. My partner’s burger and my burger were bland and tasted overcooked. We tasted more bread than anything. Everything was just warm and not fresh tasting. The fries had no flavor and tasted a bit old. I had used the bathroom to wash my hands and it was disgusting. It seems as if it hasn’t been cleaned in over a month with the trash overflowing and the toilet with mysterious brown splotches on the seat. This place used to always hit the spot but I don’t think we will be back and I don’t think anyone else should go unless something changes.

Never again. I went for A deluxe nachos and a burger. The "Deluxe Nachos" dis not have lettuce and tomatoes. I had to drive all the way back for them to correct it. The girl at the window did not say thank you or sorry for this. They literally just threw the veggies on top and the chips were stale and the meat was over seasoned and old. This was the first time I've ever been here. My boyfriend and I ordered the burger specials. I will say I am not impressed at all it was horrible!! First we waited like 10 minutes for our food which is understandable I don't mind waiting for food! But when they finally brought our food it was horrible Burger's were nasty barely had anything on them the meat was nasty it wasn't even hot! The Fry's that came out with our plate look like they had been sitting there for hours they weren't even all the way cooked they were also cold! We just got up and threw our plates away and left!

Three little burnt pieces. Very Disappointed because I came here a year ago and it was incredibly good not sure why they think that this is acceptable because its not. This burnt meal cost me 10.81. I am returning this to them. I am happy to at least update that they gave me my money back.
