This place has become a staple when I come visit family in Lubbock. If you haven’t been you need to add it to your list. The food is ALWAYS amazing. The kimchi is the best I’ve had and the family that runs things is the sweetest. If you have questions about their menu they are very helpful. Like eating with family. If I could I would give more stars.
I think this is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to in Lubbock. The furniture feels classy and homey, the service is amazing- everyone was so friendly and seemed proud of the food, and the food was SO GOOD. This was my first time and I was blown away. It was expensive, but not for the amount of food you got. I left in a food coma and still had at least 2 meals worth of food to take home.
Yum! Seoul Korean Cuisine is a fantastic family-run restaurant that stands out from other restaurants in the area. We enjoyed the KimBap and chicken fried rice—both dishes were flavorful, freshly made, and crafted with care. The friendly staff made us feel welcome, and the spotless clean environment added to the great dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Korean flavors in a warm, inviting setting!
Without a doubt the absolute best Korean food I've ever had. And I love Korean food and have it often and everywhere. We were traveling through and saw the reviews. They are right, it is fantastic. Excellent banchan (side dishes), Bibimbap, pancake, kimchi, all of it. Really well made and fresh. Unique and yet home-cooked satisfying. I hope I'm conveying how great it is. The owners were super friendly as well. Order at the counter, extra plates and such around the corner. Grab a table. You won't regret it in the slightest.
I am so happy we happened upon this restaurant. It's our last night in town before we head back to dfw. The food was delicious and fresh. The atmosphere was nice and charming. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Very humble people. We left with full bellies and warm hearts. I really appreciate the experience we had.
We've been to this restaurant twice now and have had a wonderful experience each time. The food is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. One of the highlights is the owner, who is incredibly sweet and kind—it really adds a personal touch that makes the experience even more special. While water is self-service, similar to how it's done in Korea, the overall service remains attentive and thoughtful. Every visit has been smooth, enjoyable, and memorable. We’re already looking forward to coming back again soon! Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and genuine hospitality!
Great Food. I lived in South Korea for 2 years. I know Korean food. Very authentic and fresh. Clean and cozy place and friendly.
Favorite restaurant. I like the fact that they don't have a huge list of things on their menu and you can't decide what you want because there's no pictures. Pictures for everything. Love it. Bibambap is a good starter. I have had a few dishes here that I didn't care for but I would say that it was a matter of my preferences and not the way it was prepared.
Yes, yes yes! You should definitely check out Seoul Korean. I’m already a big fan of Korean and was anticipating trying the food here. We got a variety of food including bolgi, egg rolls, kimchi friend rice and more. Everything was outstanding and the portions were great for the price point. I’ll definitely be back!
This place is amazing. The inside is cozy and cute; the food is true authentic Korean food. Simple, savory, and delicious. Can't wait to go back for more.
Some of the nicest people on the planet! Sue & Daniel are fabulous hosts and the food is delicious. Restaurant interior is beautiful especially lovely original paintings
Honestly the best Korean food I’ve ever had, the owner and staff where very kind and efficient, and they gave me a lot of food which is very much appreciated
The food was delicious. I got the Kimchi stew and my friend got the Japchae noodles. The man running the front counter on 4/1/23 at 630pm was so helpful. My friends and I had never been here and didn't know what to order. He was funny and charming and helped all the new customers order delicious food. I will definitely be back.
Review edit: Finally made it to the restaurant tonight (3/7/18) and had a great experience. The food was once again fantastic. Wife had the Bulgogi and I had the Pork Tenderloin. Delicious. Original review: I have not eaten in the restaurant, but tonight I had the bulgogi at a Halloween party. It was fantastic, and I couldn't stop eating it.
Edited: they said it was new management and new building. I’ve been to the old one a couple of times. This new restaurant may be better. I ordered the Dolsat Bibimbap with Bulgogi beef meat and, maaannn, it was delicious! I went to the old building a few yards away and am glad I decided to call the number just to double check if someone would answer. Not being from Lubbock, I may have missed it. Don’t miss it! The sides of kimchi and other things are just an added bonus to the meal. The restaurant is clean and has a lovely ambiance, the staff was helpful, courteous, kind. Read my original review below as I would say the same thing. ORIGINAL REVIEW:If the name of a restaurant is what insinuates from where the passion comes in preparing a meal, then Seoul Korean restaurant truly lives up to its name. Authentic Korean cuisine all the way to the kimchi. As was suggested from another review, get the #15. If I lived in Lubbock, this place would be a weekly part of where I'd eat. Delicious, simply delicious. Highly, highly recommended!!
This place was amazing! The owner was so friendly and helpful, explaining each main dish. Definitely will return! Food was delicious!!
The food was good and plenty of it. The hostess was very nice and helpful. I loved the atmosphere. Great place for adult date night. I will go back again.
Best Korean food with great hospitality!! I was here in Lubbock back in January with my friends. I wanted to introduce them to Korean cuisine because it's one of my favorites, and this place didn't disappoint me. At first, I was a bit skeptical because Lubbock is a small town and I drove from Dallas, so I wasn't expecting a lot. However, I found the food tasted more fresh, homemade, and better than many restaurants in Dallas. The hosts/servers were very comforting and gave us candies at the end as a New Year's treat, which made it even more special. The menu is limited, but everything was top notch. We tried spicy pork, pork stew (Kimchi Chi-ke), bibimbap, spicy dukbokgi, and every dish was deserving of five stars. I have promised myself to go back again whenever I am around Lubbock.
What can I say, I loved the place. I loved the environment. I took my roommate here to eat here because I've always wanted to try this Korean restaurant, and 5/5, didn't disappoint. I had a great time. The staff was super nice and cordial. I had the chance to talk with the chef ( I believe), and she was super nice and attentive. We had a minor inconvenience, but they were super professional and took care of it in less than 5 minutes. I highly recommend it and I will definitely visit more than once.
Absolutely delicious, and a gem of a spot hiding in plain sight! The staff is incredibly warm and friendly, and ensure you're comfortable. The owner is such a sweet, appreciative person, and happily walks you through the menu with helpful explanations, and is a wonderful host! The restaurant layout and decor is very homey and inviting. And the food! So flavorful, and still several options we want to try next time! Looking forward to returning to this wonderful spot.
The food was amazing! The service was wonderful. Everything was clean and the decor was lovely. Cannot recommend this place enough. Absolutely wonderful all the way around
Beautiful new location. I have always enjoyed dining at Seoul. This new place elevates the experience and the environment is always warm and welcoming. Was offered some snacks while we waited for our food! Good selection of Korean dishes. Such a kind family owned business. Crossing my fingers that they add Naengmyeon and black bean noodles!
We’re currently on our way home from dinner and couldn’t wait to write this review. The location is cozy with such an ambient setup, and the staff is wonderful! We arrived about an hour and a half before closing, and since it’s Valentine’s Day we were told there would be a 35-40 min wait. They gave us complimentary snacks and drinks in the meantime. Once we ordered, it was nearing closing time, but the food came out quickly and the staff never made us feel rushed. We had the dolsot bibimbap, kimbap, and galbi chicken. It was 100% worth the wait! My girlfriend hasn’t had Korean food since she moved here from California six months ago and she says she’s found her new favorite Korean spot. We liked how we could go up and get our own drinks, utensils, to-go boxes, and even extra bowls. Everything was so flavorful and the side dishes were delicious. At the end the owner (?) brought us complimentary cheesecake bites for Valentine’s Day ☺️ Overall, it was an extremely satisfying & hospitable experience! Can’t wait to come back again and try everything else on their menu. Thank you to the staff for such a great night!
My partner and I went to check out this restaurant and we were blown away! The food was phenomenal and the homemade kimchi was the best we’ve ever tasted. I got the chicken cutlet with a delicious sweet sauce and my date got the bibimbap. All the side dishes were well prepared. The owner walked us through every part of the meal and was very kind and happy to discuss the dishes. I also appreciate the atmosphere as it’s clean, spacious, and cozy. Plus, the music was calm and not too loud which I personally appreciated. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone and can’t wait to come back!
This is the most tasty, relaxed, and friendly restaurant in Lubbock! My fiancé and I absolutely love coming here whenever we can and we try one of every thing! The owners are the sweetest people, always giving us such a wonderful experience! If you’re skeptical about trying something new don’t be!! Everything is amazing!
The best Korean restaurant in Texas! They have authentic flavor dishes except kimchi fried rice. They added corn, peas, and green beans that are not in authentic kimchi fried rice. The staffs were friendly and attentive. The service was prompt. Very clean and the owner was patiently explained the each dishes to customers who are not familiar with Korean food. Plenty of parking space available. Visible from the street compared to the previous location. Even the monitor shows Korean culture, places, and history.
10/5 what a great surprise while traveling to Lubbock. It’s definitely a gem there! Amazing authentic Korean food. Was like I time traveled and was eating food my harmony cooked. The staff was amazing. The owner was vibrant and so kind. If you live in Lubbock and you've never eaten here you’re missing out!
The owners are so nice every time I go in. The food is very authentic and taste delicious the place is very clean and nice inside! Love this place my favorite restaurant in Lubbock! 10/10 would recommend!!
This was the perfect place for dinner on a chilly winter day. The owner is super nice and a real ambassador for the food. I got the dak-bokkeum-tang (spicy chicken stew) and it was delicious. The portion is also huge—there were two whole chicken thighs, and it was full of potato, carrot, and onion. The banchan were also delicious— my favorite was the cucumbers. My partner got the tofu bibimbap in the stone bowl and really enjoyed it— we love finding places with good vegetarian options!
This is our first visit. I would like to give more than 5 stars if google allows. This is one of the best korean food from the home made side dishes to spicy pork, chicken katsu, seafood kimchi stew and the unprecedented friendliness of the owner. We were served with free welcome snacks and the kids got the chocolate and cookies. We are so touched and gladful with the excellent food and services. Will definitely come back again if we happened to stop by Lubbock.
Visited for the first time tonight and was not disappointed! The lady behind the counter was so sweet and took the time to explain the menu to us since we had never tried Korean food. We drive by this place all the time and finally decided to try it out. The food was hot and delicious. We will definitely be back!
Extremely friendly customer service, the atmosphere is super homey and the food is amazing. I absolutely love coming here it’s a great experience every time. 11/10 recommend
Seoul is a fantastic Korean restaurant that you must visit if you are in the area. We stopped by on the way back home from Austin to Albuquerque because my cousin highly recommended me to eat here. The food was so delicious and atsomospher was welcoming, cozy and clean. The owners are super sweet and polite so my family and I enjoyed our meals even better! The owners cook the food in a Korean traditional way and they make their own kimchi here, too. 사장님 사모님 잘 먹고 갑니다♡ 나중에 또 꼭 들를게요!
Great and delicious food that is well presented. Owner is very friendly. She prepares all the spicy but tasty fermented side dishes such as kimtchi, cucumber, garlic stem, etc. Highly recommend.
This is a rare place in Texas where the Southern hospitality meets the counterpart of the Koreans. The owners are never too busy to greet you in person and make sure you have the experience you pay for. They take detailed care of the place, food, and service and keep improving them. Expect generous portions and a wide range of flavors and textures in their foods!
I love this place to death. This is my favorite place to eat hands down. Delicious food is always here. I really love the fact that when I order the #6 they always give me extra sauce when I ask. The owner is super nice and buying food to go or to dine in is always a breeze. If you are trying korean food for the first time, this is the place to start because everything is homemade and super delicious 😋 always love doing to go too!
The food here is excellent, especially the Bulgogi and Kimbap—I recommend getting the Bulgogi medium spicy. It's a bit pricey for me, but it's worth it. The staff is nice as well.
Coming here about four years now. They’re good taste fresh and authentic every single time. They’re so nice and the food honestly is on par with a couple places in HTX. It’s so comforting and a must every time I’m in town.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. It was one of my favorite restaurants in town during my years at Tech and it still remains a favorite place, even though I’m not in town much anymore. The new location is incredible and the people are just wonderful. The food is exceptional. I always used to get the Dolsot Bibimbap and got it again this visit. It’s still amazing and I recommend it to anyone. The food, service, and atmosphere combine for an excellent dining experience that shouldn’t be missed.
Update: That have moved locations. The new place has a great cozy atmosphere and the waitstaff were very customer service oriented. Been here several times when we're in town and they never disappoint! Very good Bulgogi and Bibimbap! The traditional Korean sides have great flavors. The staff are quick but courteous and everything we've tried has been outstanding!
We went in tonight for my daughter's birthday. It was a first time for all of us, and I would have to say it was a great experience. Not only were they nice enough to explain the menu to us since we didn't know anything about it, they brought my daughter a nice little treat tray for her birthday, and took a group picture of us. We will definitely be going back.
From the moment you walk in Daniel greets you with a welcome snack and explains the concise menu. The space is spread out with room for plenty including tables for 10. The service was amazing and the food was incredible especially for the price. Great portions of wonderfully fresh cooked Korean food. There were 3 of us which allowed for options we all tried. I'm looking forward to visiting Lubbock again for this Korean gem.
Phenomenal, handmade Korean food! I'm ready for my next visit already ❤️ This gem of a restaurant has friendly and attentive staff and made for such a calming, delicious meal in a lovely environment. The bulgogi (fire beef) was the best I've had since I was a little girl and the chef was so kind and made sure we loved everything! The food is lovingly made to order and out-of-this-world Make sure to say thank you ...감사합니다 (gamsahabnida)! Highly recommend for authentic Korean cuisine in the Lubbock, TX area! The chef is a culinary goddess who takes pride in the happiness of her customers! 🙌
I love this place, the food is always consistent and the service is always really good. The menu is small and effective with lots of variety to choose from. It kind has a unfinished whole in the wall vibe a little but don't let it deter you from the food, they recently moved buildings so it's still a work in progress but the food is really good. The parking is a bit rough, not Alot of parking and a bit small, but it matches the need of the restraunt. It's never too busy when I go around lunch time so it would be suitable for an hour lunch. Great service, food I highly recommend this place, it's clean, bathrooms are clean, good for a lunch date or all by yourself. I will say the food is a bit pricey, you'll be paying around $15-$20 per person, but the portions are good, I always get full.
I took my wife here for dinner around 6:30 on 1/18. When we approached the front door, there was a sign to go in the side. As we entered, there was a very homely feel to the place. There is a lot on non-typical restaurant furniture, and even a couch! There was a line at the counter to order, and it took about 10 minutes to get through it, but that gave us time to review the dishes on the wall. When it was our turn to order, the staff were incredibly kind and explained everything in detail. They were so very helpful and made sure we knew what we were ordering. Once we completed our order, we were then handed a cute little tray of nuts and chocolates, they told us where to find plates, utensils, napkins, to-go containers, and our drinks. We were also free to sit wherever we liked. It took about 20 minutes to receive our food, but it was so worth it! You could tell everything was authentic and made from scratch! We could feel the love in every bite! We tried the Haemool Pajun first. This was like a rice flour pancake filled with seafood and scallions. It was phenomenal. And the dipping sauce that came with it was out of this world! It was so good, we asked for more, so we could put it on everything! My wife was a little unsure of what she would like, but she is familiar with fried rice, so she got the shrimp fried rice. She really enjoyed it. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and when she added the dipping sauce previously mentioned, it became one of the best fried rice dishes she has ever had! I got the Dolsot Bibimbap. It comes in an extremely hot stone bowl with an uncooked egg yolk on top. The rice on the bottom gets crispy, and the egg yolk cooks as you stir! You are also given sides of radishes, kimchi, fish cakes, and broccoli salad. All of them were delicious, and they will bring you more at your request. I added all the sides, stirred them in, and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. As we were eating, the staff checked on us regularly to see if we needed anything else. They were very kind and genuine. We really enjoyed our experience here and had a good time!
This is my wife's favorite restaurant in Lubbock. We have been eating here for at least the last six months. The family and staff that run the restaurant are always extremely nice, polite, and really car about their food and their customers. I have never once had cold food here; honestly, I've never even had luke-warm food here. Everything we order is always fresh and hot. This seems to be extremely rare these days, no matter the price point. Highly recommended, 10/10.
This was our first visit, and I was thoroughly impressed. The restaurant looks and feels like it used to be a house so it’s welcoming and comfortable. There’s a lot of space between customers which I appreciate. The staff was very helpful in helping us to decide what we wanted. We had the Haemool Pajun as an appetizer and it was delicious. They make their own dipping sauce that is soy based that I couldn’t get enough of. My husband had Dolsot Bibimbap and because I can’t handle spice, so I opted for the Safe option of shrimp fried rice. It was literally the best fried rice I have ever had. The staff checked on us while we were eating and when the owner/chef realized we were first time visitors, she came out and checked on us and visited with us for a moment. They do give you sides with your meal That consist of radishes, kimchi, fish cakes and broccoli salad. And they will refill the sides as many times as you need. We will definitely this restaurant again.
The food is excellent even if there is a wait it’s worth the wait!! I had the opportunity to finally go to the new located Seoul Restaurant for Valentine’s Day dinner and the restaurant vibe is revamped with nicely plated dishes. We were handed little cheese cake dessert for Valentine’s Day, how thoughtful! I could definitely tell the owner was working hard to host, entertain and run the restaurant all at the same time. Great job, keep up the great service!! ☺️❤️
This restaurant was amazing from the service to the food. Don't let the outside or parking lot fool you. The food was hot and fresh well seasoned. The servers kept coming out and asking if we needed anything else. They really made us feel welcomed. The experience was more then just food. It had a warm welcoming feeling. The person at the counter explained all the dishes we had questions about was very informative. I highly recommend trying this place if you haven't.
Honestly? Was very relaxing and chill. The women was so sweet and for trying kimchi for the first, kimchi stew was amazing😫. I can say it's a little expensive but portions are worth it. Especially getting to take it home. I visit Lubbock often so this is a good place to stop by. 😌
The front parking lot leaves a lot to be desired (no pun intended), drive slowly because the potholes are a beast. The outter building blends in the the surrounding area establishments. However, when you enter the front door you are greeted with relaxing nature sounds and a beautiful expression of Asian culture. The atmosphere is very cozy, comfortable, and inviting. The staff does a wonderful job of making you feel welcome. The counter waitress offered snacks while you wait. I purchased carryout order #12 Japchae served from the start of the evening shift....AMazing! The food was absolutely perfect, true authentic Korean dish. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The food aroma took me back to when I lived in S. Korea...what a wonderful surprise. I highly recommend experiencing Seoul Korean Cusine. I will return on my next trip to Lubbock.
Everything was super delicious! The side dishes were amazing and unlike anything I’ve tried in Lubbock before. All the staff was attentive and kind, especially the owner/manager! I also loved the little appetizer of nuts and m&ms! Very unique dinner spot!
Delicious food. Kimchi, fried dumplings, everything was so good. And the host is there, explaining everything on the menu for people who don't know Korean food. So helpful and courteous! Nice, calm decor and atmosphere.
We just finished our vacation in New Mexico and drove back home to San Antonio. On the way, we passed through Lubbock and tried Korean food. We ate at Seoul Korean Cuisine, and all the food was delicious with very rich and flavorful seasoning. The owner was also very friendly and kind. I hope next time can visit again.
Nice Korean food experience I tried during my trip passing Lubbock, the owner very friendly and welcoming and explained stuff about Korean food and culture. My husband and I eat spicy food so the owner recomended us the right spice level for our bulgogi and it was perfect. And then he also gave a small portion extra bulgogi to our toddler daughter so she can enjoy it too. Definitly Will be back of I come back to this city again.
One of my favorite places in Lubbock! We probably come here once every two weeks. The owners are very sweet and workers are friendly. The food is absolutely amazing, I haven’t had anything that was not good here. My go to order is the beef bulgogi and the fried tteok kochi. My husband and I split the bulgogi and it is plentyyy of food. Definitely worth the price. Such a hidden gem that deserves all the recognition.
I went there last night for the first time. It was delicious. The appetizers were amazing and so were our entrees. The owner was so sweet and cutsie, we loved her she always made sure to come ask us how we were doing, if the food was good, or if we needed anything else. I would 100% come back and would very much recommend.
Absolutely the Best Food Ever!! Ran by the most adorable couple, this quaint restaurant offers flavorful food that will have you wanting to lick the plate and come back the next day! Amazing Kimchi and bulgogi! The owner was wonderful to explain each dish so that you were able to make an informed decision.
I love the atmosphere, it's very quiet with beautiful decorations and styled amazingly. Plenty of seats for groups or for 2. Service is amazing, the lady that took our order is very respectful and friendly. We had to grab our own utensils and drinks that is near the back which was fun. Bathrooms are clean. Food came fast and hot. It was very good, the portions are big and they come with free sides which include kimchi, tofu, fish cakes, and potato. All authentic Korean food. Would definitely recommend. It is a bit on the pricey side though.
Perfect spot for some amazing Korean! This is an absolute gem of a place! This will be my go to spot when doing any further work/business in Lubbock. Hands down the best bulgogi I've had. The kimbap was fresh and delicious! The salad was very good as well and the side dishes that come with the bulgogi were each very tasty also! The portions are very big too, so the price is absolutely justified. I've seen too many places that skimp on sizes and charge the same prices this place does. I was very warmly welcomed and offered more knowledge about Korean food as well! The decor is great there and I got to bask in some sunlight while enjoying the absolutely delicious food!
Everything about this restaurant is top notch!! The staff are extremely kind and attentive. We had the pork egg roll and gyoza for appetisers and they were perfect! For entrees we had the #8 Manduguk which was a huge helping and the flavours of the broth and dumplings were so well balanced and delicate. Also I had the #17 Jeyuk Bokkeum “medium spicy” and the pork was so tender it literally melts in your mouth. They give you a ton of sides and sticky rice all of which complement the dish perfectly. Wish I lived in Lubbock but I would be broke from eating here every day!
Such a wonderful experience! I will definitely be coming back. The service was excellent! The hosts were accommodating and answered all of my questions. They made everyone feel like a regular customer they know. The utensils were laid out and easy to navigate. The atmosphere was incredible and you can tell the owners put incredible thought and attention to detail into the decoration and layout of the restaurant. A tteokbokki craving was the reason I stopped by (and it exceeded my expectations!) but I also ordered Manduguk at the last minute and the broth was so flavorful! The sides… OH MY GOSH the SIDES! The best part of my meal and they make them fresh daily! I will definitely be back!
This place was absolutely amazing. I don't think I've ever had such incredible service anywhere else. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and able to order right away. While we were waiting, the owner came over to talk to us and was truly the sweetest. Her staff was just as kind, apologizing for any delays and quickly bringing anything we asked for. The food is a bit on the pricey side, but for quality Korean food in a city like Lubbock, it felt worth it. I also appreciated that they had all the utensils and extras laid out so I could grab exactly what I needed. Everything we ordered was delicious. We got the dumplings, fried shrimp, kimchi stew, and bulgogi beef. My boyfriend chose the spicy version of the bulgogi, and it wasn’t our favorite, but I think that was mainly because of the spice. If we had gone with the regular version, we probably would have loved it, since the beef and seasoning were still very flavorful. The dumplings were also really good and were gone in seconds. The shrimp was decent, though not particularly special, so I might skip it next time, even though the sauce it came with was very flavorful. The kimchi stew was the highlight for me. I absolutely loved it. Even though it looked like a small portion at first, it was actually very filling. It also came with a great variety of traditional side dishes, which they happily refilled when I asked. I really enjoyed getting to try different kinds of kimchi I hadn’t had before. We ordered extra rice to go with the stew, and it made the whole meal even better. The entire experience was wonderful, from the warm service to the cozy environment and tasty food. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it.
The food is amazing. I grew up in Southern California where they have some of the best Korean style plates and this place made me feel right back home. Amazing food, amazing service, I came in during dinner time and was still served within 20-30 minutes. I highly recommend to anyone looking for some quality food in a calm and delightful setting.
Without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Lubbock! Food is authentic and delicious. The owners and employees are soooo nice, and eagerly welcome everyone with compliments. They gave us extra rice for free, and an extra side of potatoes. And since it was so cold today and I was shivering, they even had a space heater to warm me up. I’ve never seen such outstanding service. Also have to mention how cute and homey this restaurant is! I’ll definitely recommend this place to my family and friends!
The updated interior has a trendy café or lounge vibe, which was a pleasant surprise and an unexpected fusion we truly loved. The atmosphere was extremely nice and added an enhanced twist to the visit. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly. We especially appreciated the counter-service format: order and pay at the counter, grab your own utensils and water, and the food is brought out when ready. This streamlined approach benefits both customers and the restaurant. By not having wait staff, the restaurant reduces overhead costs associated with training and ensures a more consistent experience for diners, removing the variability often tied to individual servers. Additionally, the cost of minimal-value-adding service isn’t passed on to the customer and inflating the cost of a visit.
I love Korean food a lot. This place just got so much better with its new location and new owner. My husband tried it today in this location for the first time and he absolutely love it. The food was great and obviously it was home made. The owner was very hands on and would talked to his costumers casually. He was very accommodating and workers are very friendly. My next food trip will be at this place again. 😋
Exotic food for Lubbock! Bulgogi was delicious. Bibimbap needed more flavor. Went for the crispy rice cakes and jury is still out.
Was suggested to go here by a friend. I really should have done some research first, only so I could accurately name everything that I enjoyed here! The outside is a very plain facade for all the flavors that linger inside. The inside is simply, yet tastefully decorated with bits of Korean culture placed around for an authentic feel. I know this was going to be good when I was there five minutes after they opened for dinner service and was the fifth table to come in. The counter service set up made the ordering process simple and effective. Being my first time at the restaurant, I had to try my standard test of Korean cuisine.... bulgogi beef. Though the food took about fourteen minutes which only felt a little longer as I was having a quick solo bite. Company would make the wait unnoticeable. Company is a great idea with the family style set up. Served with a heaping bowl of steamed rice, kimchi,(here’s where Research would help)lightly pickled cucumbers with lightly spicy red pepper sauce, sautéed greens, and a side I am unfamiliar with that I could only compare to a mild escabeche. Added rice and some of the generously portioned beef to each base and went to town. Beef was tender and packed with flavor. The gentleman suggested medium to start but I will step it up a couple notches next time. Though there was a lingering spice, I like a little more kick. Each side brought out different flavors of the beef while the beef made each side better. This place is a great find and I can’t wait to return to dive a little deeper into their menu! PRO TIP- keep enough rice to mix with the leftover bulgogi beef bits and sauce in the bottom!
The drinking water was great. Food was good but pricey for the level of self service. Surprised at casual attitude toward customers. Tippy plastic water cups which spilled easily on uneven wooden table tops. Staff had to be asked to restock napkins. As far as ambiance it seems like a Korean restaurant uncomfortably placed in an American cafe setting.
They had great food, however they served small portions, overpriced and it took them 50 minutes long to finish cooking. Your bill per person will be around $20-30 per person. I don’t quite understand why we are we being asked to tip if there is no service involved.
