I had the Catfish, Butterflied Shrimp & Fried Oysters. Everything was great. With the exception of the fried oysters. They were soggy & the putter crust fell apart before I got to them. My hubby had the Cajun Catfish. The Hushpuppies were Cylinder in shape & we found that odd. The atmosphere is dinner like & family-oriented.

I was in town for the night and this place was recommended. Wow! I grew up in the Mississippi delta where the catfish industry began. I've eaten farm raised catfish all my life, and this has to be in the top three (if not the very top) restaurants I've eaten at. The fish was delicious, with no hint of off flavor. The hushpuppies were excellent, the Cole Slaw was Devine, and the service was above par. If you want a good catfish plate, you will want to make this your one stop. Y'all come now, ya hear!? 8/6/2024: My wife and I are planning to be in Lufkin this week. I want to bring her here, but the reviews from the past month make me question that. Why does the owner or management not reply to any of these reviews? Do they not realize that reviews and their response-or lack of-make a great difference to the customer? Where are you, Catfish King?

Staff 💯 friendly and patient with our questions addressing the menu items! Quiet - Clean too! We were expecting Catfish fillets but got stripes/ nuggets! Affordable yes $12.99 but marketing need to advertise catfish stripes or shrimp vs prawns. The salad bar was awesome and the baked potato was piping hot and delicious The desert are so delicious and affordable $2.95 less than $4.We ordered the peach cobbler & pecan pie.Suggest some whip cream to top it off is what we did once we got to Shreveport! Drive way off 10 ft.if you pass it up you gotta circle back around about a 1/2 mile again. Perhaps John Deere and Catfish King could collaborate in a backside gravel road or entry from 11am-6pm for the traveling folk like us! Directly next door to the other but no shared parking space! Travelers go down memory lane of unlimited Hot Catfish fillets at least let it be an option in 2024!

I got the catfish & oysters platter (not listed). It came out piping hot and was delicious. The salad bar was pretty good, too. I'm so glad there's a truck stop (Loves) across the highway. It made parking the 18-wheeler much safer than along the shoulder of the access road.

This restaurant was a decent stopover during our road trip. Their seafood dishes are accurate to menu, tasted good, and was in generous portions. The staff was also quick and attentive to our orders. It was a clean, and comfortable environment with music but it wasn't too loud for us to talk. The Catfish King restaurant is a place well worth eating if you're craving seafood at an affordable price.

Upon pulling up the place was very busy. Took a while to get through line to order, but once ordered and seated the food came quickly. The food was catfish was cooked correctly and was still hot. The shrimp was slightly overcooked. The oysters, well I think they were blended into a breading and were almost non existant. While the food was ok, definitely not anywhere near like the seafood I would get in Louisiana..

Catfish not seasoned at all got the platter oysters had shells in them and shrimp was just okay. Place was clean but definitely surf with no turf

I swear these have to be paid reviews because this place was a joke. It's called catfish king and they served me pencil thin pieces of "catfish". The fried oysters were almost inedible. The hushpuppies are now a new vendor and they were not good. The salad bar was disgusting, well what was left of it. We showed up at 6pm so not like it was about to close, it also wasn't busy as there were only 2 other occupied tables but the salad bar just looked pathetic. The trash cans were all overflowing which was odd since the place was almost empty. They were out of lids for cups so you couldn't take anything to go. I was very disappointed with this place and obviously won't give them another dollar of my money nor should you. If you do go after reading this, don't say I didn't warn you! Seriously, spend your money elsewhere.. this isn't it.

I love catfish king salad bar. I do not recommend eating there fish anymore. They do not serve catfish anymore. They have switched to swai fish. The Alabama catfish is horrible, and there is a 4 dollar upcharge. Don't do it.

I am writing to provide feedback regarding my recent visit at the Lufkin location. As a frequent traveler between Houston and Texarkana, I often stop at your establishment and have always enjoyed the fish. However, during my visit today, I was disappointed with the service I received at the drive-thru. The employee was dismissive and lacked the usual friendliness I have come to expect. Additionally, the wait time in the drive-thru was unusually long. I understand that occasional issues can arise, but I believe that drive-thru etiquette and efficiency are crucial in the fast-food industry. I hope that you will address these concerns to ensure a consistently positive experience for all customers in the future.

Very disappointed. Overall appearance was just disgusting. Ordered the fried pickles could literally squeeze them and they would crumble. Literally even the pickle crumbled. The boxes were not protected by anything so they just melted through each other. Ordered the popcorn shrimp, and got a ball of all my shrimp fried together. Worst experience I’ve ever had. How do you mess up fried pickles like this.
