We entered the city of Tui with a prejudice, honestly, we didn't know what to expect. The waiter who approached us was friendly, even joked about our choice, the whole time the atmosphere was more than pleasant. The restaurant is authentic with local Spanish food, top-notch paella that you have to try. The prices are affordable and we guarantee that you will be satisfied.

They were open on Christmas day; that is a plus! Authentic paella, for 1. Great prices, goid service. You will not feel pressured. I wish their lighting around the main room was softer; it is too bright. Aside from that, if Richard is your server, you’ll have a treat!

Our orders are seafood paella, pulpo, gambas and steak, all recommended by our very nice and helpful server, Natalia. Paella was good for 3 persons but serving was big enough for the 5 of us. We loved the texture of the rice and the mussels, clams and shrimps that come with it. We just wish there was an option for mixed paella. Pulpo was very soft and fresh. Best we’ve tried. Gambas was garlicky but could have been better if the shrimps are bigger. Steak is also tender (at medium doneness) and lightly seasoned. We felt at home in the place and the servers are lovely.

La comida en este restaurante estuvo deliciosa; cada plato realmente se disfrutaba y se nota la dedicación en su preparación. Quiero destacar primero la atención de uno de los camareros Gerardo: al llegar, me recibió con un cordial “Buenos días” y, cuando le pregunté dónde podía sentarme, me respondió amablemente: “Usted elija donde se sienta cómodo”. Su trato fue realmente exquisito, y le dejé una propina como agradecimiento. Lamentablemente, mi experiencia se vio arruinada por la atención de una camarera. Al llegar, el restaurante no estaba lleno, y aun así me ignoró cuando le hice una pregunta, teniendo que hacer un gesto para que finalmente me atendiera. Durante la comida, retiró mi plato vacío de manera brusca y, al traer el siguiente, yo le dije “gracias” de manera amable. Ella ni me respondió, se dio media vuelta con cara de fastidio y se fue. Este comportamiento fue sorprendente e inaceptable. Es increíble cómo un mal trato puede afectar tanto la experiencia. Aunque la comida era excelente, la actitud de la camarera hizo que me sintiera incómoda y frustrada. Creo firmemente que todas las personas merecen un trato educado, porque tu estado de ánimo influye muchísimo en cómo disfrutas lo que comes. Tambien habia una mesa de dos personas Francesas comentando discretamente la mala atencion.Personas mayores que muchos de ellos no manejan las redes sociales. Found this place while walking around the Center. Was easily seated and ordered the grilled asparagus and seafood paella. Food came quick and the the olives mixture was some of the best I’ve tasted in Spain. The asparagus was ok when earthen with the minced Ibérico ham. The seafood paella was good with some classic seafood. Overall, a good eating experience and great atmosphere on a beautiful evening in Madrid. 🇪🇸

This isn’t a fancy restaurant, and I didn’t see the inside or try other dishes, but the paella was very good — one of the best I had in Madrid. I ordered the paella for one (which takes about 25 minutes to make) and recommend asking for some aioli on the side. The white wine sangria was also lovely. I sat outdoors and really enjoyed the laid-back vibe. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. A cute detail: the bill came with sour candies at the end!

We were very disappointed. Our waiter was borderline rude. We ordered food, wine and water. The place is OK, nothing special, but decent. When the food came, we had a different waitress and she made all the difference. Yormaris was friendly, efficient and nice. I had octopus- it was overcooked, but ok. They only had olive oil sachets, a big turn off for us - we are in Spain, for heavens sake!! Get some nice olive oil on the tables!!

I got the paella Caesar Paella and it was very forgettable, incredibly meh. I would not recommend. This place has all the Hallmark of a place you should avoid, people outside trying to get you to come in, plenty of tourist customers eating dinner around 7pm (which I am one) and the menu has pictures making it easy for people who can't read. Honestly better than it should have been, but I'm sure you can do better. I went because I was tired and it was next to my hotel, so if your in the same boat, then it's fine.

This restaurant prides itself on its longevity. Located on the ever busy Calle de La Montera, it’s a no fuss dining joint. Huge and clean. Efficient with servers constantly on the move. The menu revolves around seafood from the north with quite a large pasta section. And that’s what we had. Both pastas was adequate with the calamari, though advertised as Calamari Andaluza, it’s more of a Romano. If ever you’re in the neighbourhood and in need of a quick meal… this would be nice. No frills. No fuss.

Lovely friendly people, clean and bright interior. Some people were drinking at the bar and others like me were sat at a table. I’m guessing this is a Spanish format, a bar restaurant type thing. The soup was not interesting but it did warm me up. The steak was below average quality - tough, fatty and with inedible grizzle on the end of each slice. The fries were old tasting, as if they were cooked once and then reheated. You can see from the photo how much food was left. The steak knife was blunt and useless. We arrived for a wonderful set menu for New Years Eve but only to discover that they serve the 5 course meal so quickly to try to free up the table for the next sitting. Not a great experience. The first three dishes were good (cheese and pancetta, prawn and tomato salad and then lobster bisque). The main beef dish was so rushed that portions of the meat was still very raw and the dessert at the end was not great. The sparkling wine was a nice touch but as everything was served with an hour and 15 min - no one had time to enjoy the meal. Great location, food is good but avoid on New Year’s Eve.

Atención ⚠️ en este tipo de pub sirven huevos y platos de la nevera. Esta mañana fuimos a desayunar y pedí pan, huevos y jamón. El plato que trajo acababa de salir del congelador, tanto el huevo frío como el pan con jamón. Sin duda, era un plato preparado la noche anterior y, como sobrante, lo trajeron a la mesa. Le dije al dueño que con los huevos del día anterior se pueden contraer enfermedades; impasiblemente me hizo un pequeño descuento, pero el huevo se quedó en su plato. No recomiendo este sitio. ¡Ten cuidado! ⚠️

El pan está a la plancha y no tostado, parece pan bimbo, no te ponen cucharas para el café, te ponen 2 palos de madera, y pedimos 1 huevo revuelto. Esti la friolera y robo de 14,20€ Se creerán que somos extranjeros y nos comemos lo que nos pongan. No desayunar en ese sitio. A 50m de distancia 100 montadores y desayuno a 3€ persona y con jamón.

Cada año hacemos uno o dos viajes a Madrid y desde hace 4 años siempre organizamos una cena en este restaurante. Este año fuimos este sábado por la noche, hicimos una reserva para 22 personas. La comida estuvo bien. Tuvimos un 2 camareros pegado a nosotros todo el tiempo, no sé si era por falta de trabajo o porque se estaban dando cuenta q la cuenta iba a ser bastante grande, eso resultaba bastante violento y pesado nosotros en ningún momento reservamos un camarero particular para nosotros solos. Lo más gracioso es a la hora de abonar la cuenta. Le pedimos la nota, nosotros hicimos nuestros cálculos todo el grupo y el allí seguía pegado a nosotros. Cuando le entrego el importe de la cuenta q vuelvo a repetir no era pequeña le dejamos 10€ de propina me mira y me dice "Solo eso?", me quedé tan sorprendida que no reacione. . Yo que tengo un negocio y si me dejan 1€ ya se lo agradezco muchísimo. Nos quedamos todos tan sorprendidos que por votación decidieron dejar 15€ más, ya digo decidieron xq yo no estaba de acuerdo, cuando salimos el estaba fuera y se los doy y para mí sorpresa me dice "esto no nos llega ni para ir a un bar y bailar bachata". Esto me dejó tan indignada que por mucho q nos guste no pienso volver.

I replied that we would like to have dinner and asked for a table for two. He then asked if we had a reservation (which was almost a joke, since the restaurant was completely empty). We said no, and he acted “surprised” and said that he still had one table available, even though the restaurant was empty. We ordered spaghetti with shrimp and mushrooms, and a seafood soup. The seafood soup was extremely salty, and the shrimp in it weren’t even cleaned, just like the shellfish. The pasta dish had no salt at all and was swimming in oil. An absolute horror show when it comes to food! We asked for the bill, which came to 31 euros. The “clever” waiter tried to push an extra 15% service charge. We said we didn’t want to pay extra for the service, since we had been badly received and had a terrible experience. Instead of being polite, the waiter simply grabbed my mother’s card, processed the payment, and walked away — being extremely rude to a 65-year-old woman. The restaurant is awful and has NOTHING to do with Tui. My mother’s family is from Tui, and this is not the city’s cuisine, nor does it represent its traditions. This place is dirty and disrespectful to the city. I would not come back and I do not recommend it. Respondí que queríamos cenar y pedimos una mesa para dos. Entonces nos preguntó si teníamos reserva (casi una broma, ya que el restaurante estaba completamente vacío). Dijimos que no y él se mostró “sorprendido”, diciendo que todavía tenía una mesa disponible, a pesar de que el restaurante estaba vacío. Pedimos un espagueti con camarones y champiñones, y una sopa de mariscos. La sopa de mariscos estaba extremadamente salada y los camarones ni siquiera estaban limpios, al igual que los demás mariscos. El plato de pasta no tenía nada de sal y estaba lleno de aceite. ¡Un auténtico espectáculo de terror en cuanto a la comida! Pedimos la cuenta y fue de 31 euros. El camarero, muy “listo”, intentó añadir un 15% extra por el servicio. Dijimos que no queríamos pagar más por el servicio, ya que habíamos sido mal recibidos y tuvimos una pésima experiencia. En lugar de ser educado, el camarero simplemente tomó la tarjeta de mi madre, cobró la cuenta y se fue caminando, siendo extremadamente grosero con una mujer de 65 años. El restaurante es pésimo y no tiene NADA que ver con Tui. La familia de mi madre es de Tui, y esto no es la gastronomía de la ciudad ni representa su tradición. Es un lugar sucio y una falta de respeto a la ciudad. No volvería y no lo recomiendo. Restaurante pésimo.

I live in Madrid. I brought my parents here one night while they were visiting me here. We are American. We received the rudest service I’ve ever experienced here. The waiter was trying to increase our bill, very obviously- insisting we order 3-4 orders of bread when I asked for 1 (only I wanted bread). Since I work and live here, I follow the local custom which is that no tip is obligatory. I usually leave something if the service was top. It was not. The waiter rolled his eyes at our order - not in a jokingly way. I ordered for us in Spanish. The food was okay. Anyway, the real kicker for me was the waiters reaction to us paying with exact change. I am tempted to assume that since he heard us speaking in English, he expected us to leave him a big tip ? That would explain why he was so eager to increase our bill. I am honestly disappointed in myself for not saying something to him directly. He scoffed when we paid - and he was waiting as if we hadn’t paid the full amount!!! He was a jerk! He stormed off seemingly irritated that we didn’t tip. This was a poor reflection of Madrid, its hospitality and its culinary scene. Go somewhere else especially if you are visiting.
