We booked El Pato Mudo for our final evening in Madrid and we were not disappointed. The service was fantastic and the kind gentleman went through the menu with us and explained things in detail. The fried aubergine for starters were a delight, so fresh and sweet with a hint of honey. The rice was perfectly cooked and so full of flavour. The restaurant had a nice feel to it and we've said we'd definitely go back to try a different paella. Delicious

The tapas were equally outstanding, each dish offering unique, delicious flavors. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was impeccable. Grumpy head waiter, but he's efficient. Reservations highly advised. Sherry and Caldosos ( soupy rice)were delightful. Paella looked good, was tempted to return another night for it, but ran out of time. Eat here!

Great paella, but most importantly the best service and lovely staff who made our stay much more warm and welcoming. We had a seafood paella and a Valencian paella (rabbit, chicken, other earthly creatures) . Both very different but very excellent. Liquors at the end: Jerez, Oporto , Pacharán. Don't miss it!

We had an unforgettable time at this restaurant. We reserved our table through the Fork app, which was easy and convenient. The discounts were a nice bonus too. The waitstaff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and homey. But most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious! We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

This restaurant was truly amazing. The waiters are top form and the food was a wonder. We started with salad that they recommended which turned out to be fish noodles kind of salad (we’re not sure though) but it was magic. Next we ordered two paellas, one with seafood and the other one with black squid ink sauce. Both were great. Overall gonna revisit again if come back to Madrid. Big Recommended ❤️❤️❤️

It's a cute place with rustic Mediterranean decor. We had an amazing paella but the most important discovery was the mouth watering caldoso, soupy seafood rice pot. I was suspicious when my friends ordered it but Oh! My! God! The soup was bursting with seafood flavours! We finished the whole pot! We wanted to go back before my friends leaving Madrid but very unfortunately they close on Mondays and Tuesdays. Well there's a great reason to come back to Madrid now! Also appreciate that they don't force bread on the tables and it's optional on the menu. Very nice gesture worth coming back! Absolutely 5 stars! I'm really happy to know this place to bring my friends to next time I have visitors!

We came for the gulas al ajillo / salad dish as many places don't seem to serve that dish. Everything we ordered was EXCELLENT - warm toasted bread with tomato paste and garlic mayonnaise, gulas (fish noodles) and prawn warm salad, paella dishes, duck breast with fries. Slightly off the main tourist street and so it is quiet and low key. Love it and will return!

Petite joint with some great seafood choices and starters. Nice and friendly staff. Paella was good. Though I would have preferred "cleaned" version but that's not available everywhere. Liked the no wifi signs all around.

First, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We had a chicken & rabbit paiella for two which we enjoyed with a lot of cold beer.

A nice little place in Sol, serving Paella. The service is attentive without being intrusive, the ambience is cosy and attractive. Extensive wine card. The duck is a mascot of the place (the name), so the images of the duck in various form are all around (but not on the menu 🤣). The only thing, I prefer my paella a little bit crispy, roasted on the edges; probably, I should have told it it before ordering.

Visitamos El Pato Mudo en grupo y la experiencia fue muy satisfactoria. El local está puesto con gusto, muy bien cuidado y ofrece un ambiente acogedor. El personal es atento, haciéndonos sentir cómodos en todo momento. ​En cuanto a la comida, la verdad es que todo estaba bueno, pero lo que más nos gustó a todos y destaco fue el arroz negro y la fideuá; estaban en su punto exacto de sabor. Además, gracias al descuento de El Tenedor, la cuenta sale muy bien de precio en euros. Es una opción que resulta tentador el repetir.

Lugar que se puede considerar una arrocería pero donde puedes degustar otros platos. La decoración es curiosa, muy marinera y clásica, dando un toque un poco distinto al ambiente, ya de por sí curioso ya que cuenta con varias salas. La ubicación es inmejorable, en pleno centro de Madrid. La comida está bien, recomendable las setas rebozadas y los arroces caldosos. Precio medio, no excesivo pero tampoco barato.

Buen restaurante en el centro para tomar arroces.

Sitio bueno para comer arroz en Madrid y os lo dice una Alicantina. Tiene muy buena cocina lo que os puedo recomendar son los chipirones al foie y el gambon frito con cebolla... delicioso!!! De los arroces el negro con chipirones está muy sabroso y el tatin de postre estupendo. La única pega es que es un poco caro, sobre todo en la bebida pero merece la pena, nosotros siempre repetimos cada vez que vamos a Madrid. 17/06/18

We always research where we eat and this was just passing by a touristy side and were pleasantly surprised! Iberian ham was nice….Cheese fondue…amazing and black rice Mallorca style was spectacular and a must have. We liked the black rice so much that I completely forgot to click a picture before eating it all up. Oops.

Conozco el restaurante desde hace años y mi sensación es la de que ha bajado el listón. La paella mixta estaba un poco pasada y le falta sabor. Los postres estaban congelados-congelados El pan con alioli y tomate está muy bueno A las rabas les sobra el componente hortelano El servicio muy atento. Te ofrecen chupito final.

La paella de marisco estaba buena. No me gustó el trato del encargado de sala, no encontrando nuestra reserva que estaba correcta, no acompaña a la mesa teniendo que volver a preguntar por las vagas explicaciones y el tono poco servicial. No nos sentimos agusto por el trato.

Paella sin sabor y la carne durisima, la peor que he probado. El caldoso muy pasable. Precio muy caro para lo que dan.

Desagradable experiencia que hemos vivido hoy con un camarero que de muy malas formas nos responde que la cocina cierra a las 16:00 cuando teníamos una reserva a las 15:45. Hemos preguntado a qué hora cerraban la cocina porque otra persona iba a llegar tarde, nos contesta que tenemos que pedir ya, respondo que tenemos una reserva en Google y no tiene sentido que me deje hacer la reserva si van a cerrar, nos responde que es lo que hay y que sí queremos pedimos ya. Nos hemos ido por el pésimo trato recibido.

a terrible experience happened to me and my friend when we went to the restaurant one night at dinner, we waited for our table because we didn’t have the reservation and when we took place, we didn’t receive our menu and after several minutes, we started asking the waiter the menu… He seems to be annoying and he didn’t bring us the menu, ignoring us. When he finally arrive at our table, after at least 15 minutes, he was rude with us and he asked us why me and my friend were in a hurry, but when I said that we were hungry, he became aggressive and he said that we have to leave the restaurant because in his restaurant people can’t be in hurry. he kicked us out.

Appalling people- closed the kitchen before we arrived in spite of our booking DO NOT TRY THIS RESTAURANT. 31 July 2025: Unacceptable response from business. My party of 13 arrived with a booking and were turned away because the kitchen was closed. This is extremely poor service. If employees have schedules it is up to the restaurant to ensure bookings do not impact their staff, not for customers to guess whether their booking will be honoured or not. Advice for the business if they want to improve their reputation: avoid bookings that will impact employees and customers.
