Friendly staff speak English. Delicious tapas / small plates, we ordered the fried squid, patatas bravas, croquettes de jamon, and a couple other things I can't remember. Came back later and tried their Vermouth which was delicious and great value @ ~4 euro per glass.

In the heart of busy Madrid, steps away from Gran Via, you can find peace and quiet in a bar with old world charm. About a dozen Vermouths are on the menu and I recommend the grifo (on tap) vermouth. Yes, there are a few more refined ones on the list but why going to a vermuteria if you don't drink the local offering. The music is as pleasant as the staff and while the love seats could use more upholstery, I can easily loose a few hours simply watching the waves of the world breaking on their windows.

Went for a quick coffee and small bite. 2 coffees a sandwich and toast was a reasonable 10 euros. The waiter was prompt in order and food delivery. Would visit again

This is a great place to experience Madrilian classic tapas. We ordered some of the most classic (gildas, boquerones en vinagre, callos, ensaladilla rusa...) and were very pleased with the quality and taste of what we ate. They have a wide selection of vermouth. Since we’re no experts we asked the waiter to recommend. We loved what he picked for us. Best vermouth I ever had. I have already gotten myself a bottle! With respect to the service which seems to be their big flaw according to other reviews I have to say that we experienced great and horrible service. One of the waiters that attended to our table was incredibly attentive, nice and provided great service. For some reason he was assigned to a different area of the restaurant and then we had another waiter. This time the experience was terrible. He would never ask what we wanted even if we discretely waved at him. We finally got to order a tapa and he never brought it. We had to ask for it twice and in the end we told him we did want it anymore. If it had been him the entire time I most likely wouldn’t have rated the place 5 stars. Too bad I can’t remember the name of our first waiter. The atmosphere is good, the place is charming and I definitely recommend going to try some Madrilian tapas.

Llegamos a este sitio por casualidad. A destacar, personal amable y servicio rápido. En cuanto a la comida y el vermut todo bastante bien para ser un sitio ubicado en plena Gran Vía. Todo estaba muy bueno, especialmente los callos pero no en plan para volver allí y pedir lo mismo. Sitio perfecto para hacer una pausa y picar algo.

Buen sitio para tapear y disfrutar de la Gran Vía. La comida rica, por lo menos lo que nosotros pedimos. El precio me pareció razonable, dado el sitio y la ubicación. El personal amable y atento. Los torreznos estaban riquísimos y el pulpo también. Si tengo que poner alguna pega, sería que el tamaña de las mesas es bastante escaso, éramos dos adultos y dos niñas y la mesa se nos quedó pequeña al llegar la mitad de la comida.

Una buena opcion si estas por Gran Via y quieres tomarte un vermut. Los precios no son baratos pero no abusivos. El ambiente muy bueno y las raciones tenian muy buena pinta; para lo que hay en Gran Via es una opción a pensar. Nosotros comimos en la hamburguesería de enfrente, pero porque teniamos reserva; si no nos hubiésemos quedado. Nota; El precio de la cerveza aceptable.

Lugar bastante grande en la Gran Vía para tomar raciones, tapas o un vermú de grifo. Tiene también una zona en la parte de abajo que pone biblioteca (por falta de tiempo, nos quedamos con ganas de conocerlo). Hay varias tapas/ raciones para elegir. Recomiendo las croquetas y los calamares. Los camareros son muy rápidos y amables. Y hay bastantes mesas. Hemos ido a comer y ha salido a unos 18 euros por persona.

Un sitio muy cuco para tomar vermut, vinos...y raciones típicas con buena calidad precio. Hay como tres zonas, la primera pues tomar tapas, con mesitas altas. La segunda es más tipo saloncito con sillones y tomar raciones, sanchiches, hamburguesas ..y la tercera es un comedor, al fondo para cenar.

Bar-vermutería amplia con mucha luz y buen ambiente. Tienen unos cuantos apetitivos entre los cuales elegir para acompañar una amplia carta de vermuts. Por ponerle una pega tardan un poco en atenderte, sobre todo a la hora de pedir la cuenta, que si tienes un poco de prisa no es agradable tener que insistir para poder pagar.

El lugar es precioso, un clásico y típico bar madrileño muy amplio y súper bien atendidos! Los platos son muy sabrosos y cumplidores. Los callos riquísimos! Y la tabla de quesos muy rica! Tal vez agrandaría un poquito las porciones, un 10/15 % más estaría muy bien. Un lugar que x lo menos una vez hay visitar.

El local interior con decoración (y música), muy de los 70s. La atención y la comida, buenas y bien de precio (los clásicos de huevos con jamón, variado de croquetas y patatas bravas). Un fallo grave, nos sacaron todos los platos al mismo tiempo, con lo que algunos se quedaron fríos. Hay que prestar atención a los detalles.

4 choices in the heart of Madrid! I must admit, the concept is good and well built. 4 different atmospheres and concept bar/restaurant to fulfill the crowds in Gran Via heart of Madrid. Very smart and entertaining. However… manage well your expectations, not everything falls under the same price/quality ratio. During our visit, we started off the Vermut bar… but it was warm and service was too slow to take our order, so we went to the next concept. The wine and cocktail bar. A step or two upwards in atmosphere and for what I know service. So we had a couple of drinks and a good “tabla de quesos” from where I could choose. It was well presented with nice details like almonds, a strawberry and other edible decoration items besides just the cheeses. Staff was nice enough to explain about the 4 concepts build in the hotel. One of them, Ático 11, being a cute rooftop terrace without any reviews till we came up 😏 A roof top terrace during end September in Madrid is always a pleasure. We tried one cocktail but that was a bit disappointing. The 4th element is a restaurant, but we had plans for another place so we didn’t try the food. I must say, for this to be all hosted inside the hotel and everything being interconnected, I thought it was a really good ambitious work well done. However, I can’t give them all 5 stars because in my opinion, the staff should all be at the same level and they have some spots were they can improve. I would come back for sure and I would love to see they took the feedback into account and improved on those areas.

We enjoyed the quieter area with a bar and sitting down tables vs the very noisy and uncomfortable stools up front directly on the gran Vía. Ir can get very busy and I guess service could be slow sometimes, but we enjoyed attentive staff and quick raciones with our vermouths. Overall, a good spot for a quick stop with vermouth and tapas.

Great spot to enjoy a good drink (tinto de verano) with nice views. The service is friendly and there are spots with and without sun, so in case it’s way too sunny, you can get easily on a shadow.

Fantastic location, linked to the Iberostar hotel. They have a varied selection of tapas to suit all tastes. There is also a vermouth bar, plus’s a host of wines spirits and beers.

Quería actualizar la reseña puesto que el restaurante ha cambiado de Chef y en mi opinión ha perdido mucho. Ha pasado de ser un restaurante excepcional a uno muy normalito. Una lástima. Espectacular! Lleva abierto muy poquitos días y seguro que va a ser un nuevo sitio de referencia en Madrid. Especializado en cocina madrileña con un toque moderno que le da mucha más vidilla a los platos. Riquísimo el arroz de pichón, las cocotxas, las almejas, su versión de la ensaladilla rusa y la raya (espectacular). La selección de vinos que nos hicieron fue un acierto, el servicio muy bien y el precio muy razonable. Muy muy muy recomendable!! Volveremos a seguir probando platos de la carta!

This cafe/restaurant on an always busy Gran Vía has such potential to be a great spot for tourists to take a break from their various wondering around Madrid. The decor is upscale with plenty tables for small and large groups. And it’s large windows give an excellent view of the hustle and bustle on and around Gran Vía. The restaurant’s big shortcoming is that it is understaffed. The waiters and waitresses that they have work their tails off but they cannot keep up with the heavy volume of customers that drop in on an ever perpetual basis. As such the service is slow and the food and beverages often come out cold. They are tasty cold but might actually be something special if they were served properly warm.

Disappointed It's a good concept with stylish and classic decor and relaxing guitar background music. But the staff let it down through poor management and training. You don't want to go for a quiet Sunday morning breakfast and have the staff banging plates with no concern for the noise - almost like it's a virtue to be loud. No need for this - make some effort - it's not a company cafeteria Secondly, the staff are having a conversation which is heard through the entire cafe - so loud, almost shouting. This is NOT good for ambience - you are not at a bar chatting. Finally, coffee served without care - spilled onto the saucer with no care. Even worse, the girl watched me as I lifted the cup and wiped the saucer dry with tissues No training, no supervision, no standards. It feels like kids let loose in a cafe to set their own (low) standards. It's a shame but it's the usual culprit, simply absent and poor management

As noted by other reviewers this place is woefully understaffed. Tables remain uncleared and frankly I don’t like sitting at a dirty table when there is no alternative, waiting for it to be cleaned. (See photo.) Unsurprisingly service is slow. Which is a pity as it is a great spot for watching people pass by outside. The irony is that at the weekend - when this was written a €1 supplement is added to the bill. To cap it all for two days running they had no orange juice. The first day they said it hadn’t been delivered, the second day no excuse was given...this is a four star hotel and can’t even get a supply of orange juice, a breakfast staple. Perhaps the first day, something out of their control had happened. On the second day surely they have the ability to buy some in from elsewhere?

Made a mistake of having breakfast here - not their strongest suit. Everything was cold. Jamon sandwich was okay but they could’ve at least warmed up the spanish tortilla, it was runny and cold as if made yesterday. They also offer stone cold, old churros with no chocolate to dip in, thus making them impossible to eat.

Grandes expectativas con caída muy alta. El local perfecto, los precios de la carta parecen normales hasta que ves la cantidad del producto, que llega a ser mínima, quitando el hielo unos dos/tres tragos. La atención del camarero que nos atendió PESIMA, el sábado la educación la dejo en su casa, nos ignoraba, nos traía las cosa a trozos sin explicación del tipo de bebida a tomar, su compañera creemos q nos escucho hablar de trato recibido por él e intentó arreglarlo explicándonos ellas los vermut con muy buenas formas, puesto que fueron dos rondas en las cuales probamos de los 9 vermut que tienen en carta 7. Al solicitar la cuenta, me tocó ir a la barra, puesto que el camarero ni nos miraba, y en la barra estaba él fuera y otro camarero dentro, al solicitar la cuenta solo me respondió el que estaba dentro , el otro ni se digno a girar la cabeza. Me parece triste q un local así no tenga profesionales trabajando, después de una experiencia así, NO volveré a ir, y no lo voy a recomendar a nadie puesto que nos sentimos clientes no gratos. Mi crítica no es en el precio, puesto q conozco los precios de la zona es por el trato.

Still waiting for the Ketchup for the fries. Requested it about 10 mins ago. This gives you an idea of the service. They finally took our order about 30 mins after arriving. We ordered Spanish tortilla, hamburger and pickle. Over all review? Wish we went to a fast food restaurant. The pickle was three olives and two pickled fish on a toothpick. The tortilla was egg and potatoes...tasted like chicken and dumplings and the hamburger was way undercooked and very salty. The best part of the experience? The cool bottle the water came in. Taking that home with me...and unfortunately this experience.
