El sábado cené con mi mejor amigo y la experiencia fue muy acertada. Comida excelente de primera calidad y muy bien cocinada y presentada. Riquísimo el crujiente de torreznos. También tomamos unos cócteles muy ricos. Todo el servicio es excepcional, me gustaría destacar a Elvira, muy muy agradable y profesional, hizo que la experiencia fuese aún mejor de lo que ya era. El sitio es muy bonito, tranquilo y la zona de cócteles con buena vibra.

Fuimos cuatro amigos al brunch y nos gustó. El sitio es bonito con un aire clásico que llama la atención nada más entrar. El brunch está muy bien, la torre que te ponen al principio con toda la comida nos pareció un detalle genial para empezar. El ambiente pes tranquilo y cómodo. Es un buen plan para ponerse al día con los amigos.

What a GRAND experience along Gran Via! Beautiful interior, fantastic history,great food (for brunch on Sunday), and excellent service. Im sorry I discovered this gem so late in my visit, I would have been a regular. I had the “unlimited “ mimosas, and started with more than I could eat of meats, cheeses, breads, melon, yogurt…a tower of delicious treats, along with a smoothie, and then a perfectly cooked hamburguesa with fries. I’m not a big fan of eggs, and there were several options I didn’t choose… So good I made a reservation for Next weekend brunch. And a special thanks to Candela who was both kind and professional. Founded in 1931, Museo Chicote was Spain's first American bar. Its barman and owner Mr Perico Chicote commissioned its original Art Deco design to a famous architect Luis Gutierrez Soto that still can be seen today. The walls are adorned with photos of all the celebrities who have visited this storied location. The staff is friendly and efficient. I only stopped in for a few cocktails, which were reasonably priced and delicious! Come and visit this iconic bar and experience what has attracted multitudes for nearly a century!

Top notch service from all the bar staff. This was a lovely bar to visit from the moment you go through the revolving doors it’s like going into the past with their decor, old pictures of all the past celebrities that have been there and their trendy music. It’s a place worthwhile visiting if you want a piece of nightlife history with you.

Heard and read some poor reviews for Museo Chicote, but was passing by so I went in anyway. Put your mind at ease! The place is super cool (total 1930s vibe), the staff is very friendly, the Air Conditioning is ice cold (37C outside), and the bartender, Nacho, is a wizard. I had two cocktails, each made with precision, both were amazing. I will definitely be back!

It was like stepping back in time, back to the 30'. It was great to have drinks while looking at pictures of all the celebrities from those times. The drinks were very good as well.

Local curioso con buen ambiente. Original el decorado y las mesas junto con los asientos que son de piel y las fotografías de los famosos que hay por el restaurante. La comida muy bien la verdad. Relación calidad/precio van muy de la mano en esta ocasión. Si tuviera que destacar un plato sería en brioche y las croquetas, muy buenas. Sin quitar protagonismo a los demás platos que nos sirvieron. Si tuviera que poner una pega es al hecho de que una de las camareras me hizo sentir incómoda por la forma de comunicarse a la hora de retirar platos y pagar la cuenta, me dio la sensación de que quería que nos fuéramos, siendo educada ella sin embargo. Fui allí con una reserva por la app The fork( el tenedor) y sí que se agradeció. probablemente precios un poco elevados, pero con el descuento se queda aceptable. This historic cocktail bar and restaurant, over 100 years old, is split into two areas: the front for dining and the rear for the bar, which also accommodates private events. The service was friendly and efficient. We ordered the Ravioli XL de rabo de toro con crema ligera de patata, Ensaladilla rusa con tarta de gambón rojo, Carrillera de cerdo ibérico en su jugo y crema fina de patata, and Entrêcote fileteado con salsa bistrot de París y patatas fritas. Portions were generous, and the overall quality of the dishes was well above average. Thanks to The Fork's promotion, our bill came to around 60 EUR including drinks — a great value considering the central, tourist-heavy location. The only downside was a private event taking place during our visit, which made the music extremely loud—more like a nightclub than a restaurant. Unfortunately, despite making the reservation two weeks in advance, we weren’t informed about this, which made it hard to enjoy a proper conversation. Because of that, the overall experience was less than ideal.

Though this place is associated with Hemingway, the vibe is more Sinatra and 50s Vegas glam. During the day, it’s very vacant, catering to tourists who know its literary and cultural reputation. At night it’s just your run of the mill expensive cocktail bar. They do a solid Negroni.

Hemos cenado al ritmo de 'El baile del gorila' y otros hitos verbeneros. Nuestra reserva, hecha con semanas de antelación, ha coincidido con un evento privado (y muy ruidoso) en la sala contigua al comedor. A pesar del imprevisto y desagradable ambiente de discoteca, los camareros han sido amables y todo estaba muy rico. Mención especial a la ensaladilla con tarta de gambón y al entrecot con salsa parisina.

Recientemente visité el Museo Chicote en Madrid, ubicado en plena Gran Vía, con muchas expectativas, pero la experiencia no fue tan positiva como esperaba. Tenía una reserva, pero al llegar la bienvenida no fue especialmente cálida. Aunque había varias mesas disponibles, nos ubicaron cerca de la puerta, donde el aire frío de la calle entraba constantemente, lo cual no fue nada agradable. Después de un rato, nos cambiaron de mesa, lo cual mejoró un poco la situación. En cuanto a la comida, pedí varios platos para compartir, como habíamos acordado, pero la sorpresa fue que trajeron todos los platos al mismo tiempo, lo que hizo que los alimentos se enfriaran rápidamente. En cuanto a los platos, la calidad no me pareció acorde al precio. La alcachofa estaba rica, pero era tan fina que casi no se percibía en el plato. El brioche de carrillada estaba algo seco, y los ravioles estaban buenos, pero ya fríos cuando los sirvieron. El postre, una tarta de manzana, estaba bastante mediocre, con un hojaldre recalentado que no aportaba mucho. En resumen, no repetiría la experiencia. Aunque la ubicación es excelente y el local tiene su renombre, la relación calidad-precio me pareció elevada para lo que ofrecen

We went to this bar to have a drink. We ordered 4 cocktails which all came fast and nicely made. The place is nicely decorated with pictures of famous people that once visited the place. Personnel is friendly. Go there for a drink. There is one big but: after our first round of drinks the atmosphere changed when the DJ came in at 23:00. The guy turned up the volume and started spinning old disco tunes instead of the loungy tunes there were before. The disco tunes were the wrong ones. Aimed at the 50+ crowd that was there. Nah.

drinks were Ok. I would suggest they pay more attention they take to serve. Overall we had a good time.

The decor and historic charm of Museo Chicote were impressive, you can truly feel the legacy of this iconic spot. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the ambiance. Within a 2 minute window of being seated, three different servers came by asking if we were ready to order, which made the experience feel rushed and unwelcoming. The menu was only in Spanish, so it took us a bit to review and confirm our selections. When our food finally arrived, two plates were served instead of three, even though we all ordered the same dish. To add to the experience, when I asked for a glass of Cabernet, I was told they didn’t have any, only for the server to finally agree they did after I pointed it out on their menu. Overall, it felt like we were being rushed or unwelcome rather than guests. While the space itself has a wonderful history, the service experience unfortunately overshadowed it.

The ambience of the place is wonderful really couldn’t ask for better. Soft music, lighting, etc. however my sister and I ordered an “Alaska” and a “Mai Tai” and both drinks tasted poorly (to say it nicely) the Alaska had wayyyy too much vanilla and the Mai Tai was not mixed for the appropriate flavor (in our opinion). The Mai Tai was even recommended to us as our waiters favorite drink there. Regardless of the taste both drinks were iced to hell and back. We watched the bar tender make our drinks by putting very little “drink” in it and overloading it with ice. Using the stirring spoon and his hand to shove more and more ice into the glass until it looked full of liquid. We loved the cubed nice ice just like anybody else but paying 13 euros per drink I would like more than 2-4oz of drink in a large 12-16oz glass. They do provide a small glass of water and a bowl of mixed nuts/candies which was a nice touch. Overall the feel of a place and small snacks does not overcome the disappointment in the drinks being the drinks were what we were there for. Would NOT recommend and will not be returning.

Casi sería mejor decir que decadente, pero a parte de la puerta giratoria y gran parte del mobiliario, una decepción absoluta! Mucha página web que no se corresponde con la realidad! Llegas y dices que tienes reserva y no les consta en qué sala! La iluminación roja de club de citas clandestinas, y la música insoportable en elección para el sitio y en volumen! Se supone que cuando vas a tomarte un cóctel es un momento de charla y relax, pero el ambiente musical es crispante haciéndote elevar la voz innecesariamente, y aunque pidas por favor que la bajen, caso omiso! Te traen antes de pedir lo que se supone un vaso de agua, con un sabor indefinido, y unas almendras, buenas, esas si! Luego ya los cocteles, que te los tomas con la gran decepción de estar en un sitio del que quieres salir corriendo y no volver! Tanto tiempo queriendo conocerlo y deberíamos haber ido el siglo pasado! Se sirven del nombre!

Lamento dejar y apoco favorable reseña. Acudí a primera hora que abrió el bar. El día martes! Y el servicio me desagradó por completo. Las chicas sólo acudieron a solicitar la orden y no volvieron a aparecer hasta que fui a la barra a pedir la cuenta. Esperaba un servicio a la altura de el lugar. ( por emblemático)

I travel a lot and go to the best cocktail bars in the world. I’ve never been disappointed as much as in Museo Chicote. They made up an excuse about not having a license so that my son could not enter. He’s been in a lot of the best places in the world, but here they just denied him access.
