En una escapada a Madrid no puedes dejar de pasar x aquí. En un día donde el frío era bastante para unos mallorquines nos recibieron con un vaso de caldo q te calentaba el cuerpo y te preparaba para disfrutar de una exquisita comida en un ambiente muy cálido el cual te hacía viajar en tiempo

Era la primera vez que iba, y no me defraudó. La calidad del producto, excelente. La mesa, de 10! El servicio, buenísimo, súper atentos en todo momento. Totalmente recomendable!

Espectacular sitio para comer en Madrid. Un restaurante de los de antes, con comida de siempre. Nos pusieron de tapa aceitunas y croquetas, luego medimos gambas al ajillo y cordero. Todo riquisimo. Y de postre la milhoja, increíble. El servicio de 10 y el ambiente muy tranquilo. Si quieres comer bien bien en Madrid es un buen sitio, eso si, la excelencia se paga.

Un clásico.que mantiene el nivel en lo más alto. Hemos compartido Sopa de Ajo con huevo, Trigueros a la plancha y hemos disfrutado unas ricas chuletitas de lechal y un magnífico lomo de buey. Un 10. Eso sí, debimos caerle mal al camarero porque fuimos la única mesa no invitada a chupito 😀

Posada de la Villa es un lugar absolutamente encantador. Un espacio que respira tradición, con siglos de vida entre sus muros, donde se siente el Madrid más auténtico: el de las antiguas posadas, las vigas de madera, los rincones con alma y ese ambiente castizo que te transporta a otra época. Pero si el lugar es especial, el trato de Javier lo eleva a otro nivel. Llegamos simplemente con la intención de mirar, y lejos de sentirnos fuera de lugar, nos recibió con los brazos abiertos. Sin esperar nada a cambio, nos dio la bienvenida y nos hizo un tour completo por todo el espacio, explicándonos su historia y cada rincón con una educación, un saber estar y una profesionalidad que da auténtico gusto encontrar hoy en día. No había interés comercial de por medio, solo una atención impecable y una pasión evidente por el sitio y por hacer sentir bien a quien entra por la puerta. Sin duda, ya se ha convertido en nuestro número uno de sitios a los que ir el próximo fin de semana Nos hemos enamorado del lugar… y del trato, gracias Javier!

Amazing place and extra special knowing it's history. Service is great atmosphere is very madrid like with touch of Toledo. Food was really well cooked, flavors would have been nice If it had a little more emphasis to it. Loved the lamb, food not get a chance to taste hen. Rabbit with rice was good and Shrimp was nicely done. Dessert loved their cheese cake,. This is from someone who does not like cheese cake. Little expensive. Overall a definite recommend.

The Oldest Inn of Madrid is the setting for this one of a kind restaurant. You can smell the house specialty roasted lamb cooking in the wood oven as you walk in the doors. The hostess showed us the oven and gave us a nice history lesson. Of course my wife and I ordered the roasted lamb and we were not disappointed. We also ordered roasted veggies and sliced potatoes. The lamb is served in a hot terra cotta bowl with broth and the waiter prepares it table side and serves it too you. The meat falls off the bone and is flavorful and tender. This is a must stop in Madrid. I wish I could have tasted the whole menu.

An unforgettable medieval journey I’m a Madrid native but I have been first time recently to Posada de la Villa, and it was incredible. The moment you step in, you feel like you’ve travelled centuries. It’s a three-floor wooden gem, originally an inn from 1642, now a restaurant that feels like a medieval time capsule  I visited in a group of three and we shared a quarter roast lamb — their signature dish —and it was cooked in a traditional wood-fired oven just like they’ve done for ages. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, pure perfection . We had it with potatoes and salad, and even skipped starter extras—but the complimentary croquetas were a very welcome surprise. After coffee they served some tejas biscuits too, sweet little treats that rounded it all off. For dessert we went with the combo plate. The leche frita and milhoja stole the show soft and rich, just heavenly. And when we left, they gave us a small decorative key thick stamped paper, a handwritten receipt such lovely touches that felt special. Full disclosure: it’s a bit on the pricey side. For tourists it’s no big deal, but as locals we felt it. Still, it’s totally worth it for the experience: embracing old Madrid, both in the space and in the food. The hearty, warming menu is perfect in winter, maybe too heavy for a hot summer day unless you’re very hungry. If you’re looking for one of the most atmospheric, historic eating experiences in Madrid, this place delivers, every detail makes it memorable. Highly recommend!

I want to 1st clarify that we came here not for the affordability of the food but rather the experience for an establishment that has been around for over a century. It felt like we were teleported back into the 1900s and how all the decor still resembles something of an old time charm. We had to try their claim to fame roasted lamb for 2. They surfed the usual tapas and we were quick delighted when the presented the quarter lamb whole before it was cut up and served. It was a rather simple seasoning with salt and pepper but it was tender and moist. Full of flavor in every bite. We can't even finish it and thought the roasted veggies were unnecessary. It would have been nice to have a few more friends to dine with us so we can share more dishes. We inquired about the name on the chairs and was informed that those were famous people that sat on them and it is now their chair. We were later given the key to the inn as souvenir and the staff invited us back when we ever visit Madrid again in the future.

Found this restaurant by accident while looking for Tapas on a busy street. Was pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant specializes in roasted lamb. We tried the signature lamb and it was phenomenal. Fall off the bone tender, rich and flavourful. The service was friendly and helpful. This restaurant appears to be quite popular with tourist, but shouldn't be dismissed based on this. However, be warned that the cost can be high. Overall this is a recommended spot for meat lovers in Madrid.

We LOVED our dinner at Posada de la Villa: Great traditional "old Madrid" food, beautiful atmosphere, and fantastic attentive service! The roast lamb is a must and is as good as advertised (two of us finished it completely, but we would have happily shared it among 3 or 4 people). I was worried that this restaurant would be all meat, but we had the grilled asparagus with our lamb and it was outstanding as well -- perfectly grilled (if a bit pricey), and perfect for sharing. Complementary sweet treats round out the meal. Jose Andres was right -- this is a must reservation in Madrid.

It is unbelievably great roasted lamb. Fried pepper and potato is also great. I thought this was a touristy place but when I went there in the last week of April they were all locals. This gives me reassurance.

The oldest inn has been established since 1642. Great setting for our first meal in Madrid. We booked in advance and stated it for a birthday but they didn't do anything which is fine. We ordered the roast lamb and garlic prawns which were delicious. The lamb was so juicy didn't feel like eating lamb as the meat is so tender and didn't have that gaming smell. My husband loved the garlicky prawns. Overall, it was a good experience although the price is too steep. My husband certainly wasn't impressed with the price. It's too touristy but I really did enjoy the old inn building and vibe. We were given two keys printed with their inn name as souvenirs. Not sure if they give all people. After all still highly recommended it if money isn't a concern for you.

You think to yourself ‘how good can the lamb be? We can make good lamb back home easy’ but when I tell you the lamb here was out of this world. The way they cook it truly brings out some divine flavours. The fat was so delicious the meat tender. You cannot fault it. The spot is quite nice and rustic, has an old traditional vibe to it. The waiting staff are amazing and super friendly. Be sure to get a salad with the lamb to crush through the fatty goodness taste every now and then. Like a pallet cleanser. And for dessert we had this unreal crispy layered sweet thing it was unbelievable. Just ask for the crispy layered sweet dessert in Espanol I’m sure they’ll know what you mean. Incredible spot. Must do for Madrid.

Restaurante de toda la vida en la Cava Baja. Comida: En líneas generales todo estaba muy rico. Lo mejor de todo el cordero que estaba crujiente por fuera y tierno por dentro y la carne que tenía muy buen sabor y estaba tierna. Los callos muy ricos y picantes. Los aperitivos bastante normalitos. Lo mejor es la chistorra del aperitivo que traen con el pan. Tuvieron buen detalle con el postre sólo pidió una persona café y nos pusieron a todos rosquillas y tejas. Servicio: Trajeron la cerveza sin alcohol caliente y cobrandola a 5,20 deberían traerla como oro en paño. Tuvimos que pedir el vino y una segunda cerveza en 2 ocasiones. El sitio es un asador y está muy bien cuidado. La cocina abierta está en la entrada y se puede comprobar que está todo muy limpio. Fui con mis padres a cenar allí por primera vez para celebrar dos cumpleaños, el de mi madre y el mío propio. Pedimos por encargo dos cuartos de cordero (especialidad de la casa) y una ensalada para compartir. Con un cuarto de cabrito para dos personas es suficiente. El cabrito en su punto y con un sabor buenísimo. Pedimos también postre: una milhoja (también especialidad de la casa, muy buena) y dos sorbetes de sidra de manzana, estupendos también. Vino y agua mineral. La casa nos invitó a unas rosquillas de anís y unas tejas así como también a unos chupitos de hierbas con o sin alcohol. Muy recomendable el restaurante, de los de toda la vida, la calidad y el buen servicio hay que pagarlo. En general todo el personal es muy atento, mención especial para el Señor Ambrosio que fue quien nos atendió.
