Wonderful place! Read the negative reviews. Don’t even make sense. Many slander Barbara. Had pleasure to have talked to her, wonderful woman: quick, efficient, respectful, just because she prefers to work to throw hugs and kisses d won’t make her a bad server. Everyone is very organized and friendly. Also, I’ve been coming to this place for 6 years now and if someone said that there was someone waiting it means someone was waiting at the bar. The bar is large inside as well, with all the loyalty (that paid off) they’d even put someone whoever asked for the table at their terraza they’d sit them first, even I had to wait! Going through those bad comments, none of them make sense. Wonderful place to be, most respectful in plaza chueca. So! No! It deserves 5 stars, no less! No marketing, real feel here! Makes me mad to read this first world problem crap. Go fish! Not true! The service, the attitude is amazing! Come see for yourself!

Came for pre dinner drinks and this place is full of old world charm. Lots of history. Bartender spoke English and was super friendly and helpful. Olives and fruits seco came with drink order.

A tavern gem that's hard to find. If you want to experience Spain, this place is a must visit. This charming old tavern offers authentic vermouth and a delicious selection of tapas. The wooden interior, barrels - all this takes you back to the past. The service is excellent and the olives and jamon are exceptionally delicious. I highly recommend a special visit.

Taberna de las que en Madrid se conocen como 'castizas'. Centenaria, fundada en 1917. Tiene dos ambientes diferenciados y separados por la barra, también dos entradas: uno, con mesas; otro con pequeñas barras a lo largo de la pared para estar de pie. El sitio es llamativo en cuanto a decoración y solera, guarda la esencia de antaño; si eres de los que gustan de los bares antiguos, te va a encantar. Eso sí, precios algo elevados: 3€ en doble y 2€ una caña. De aperitivo ponen aceitunas y unas pequeñas banderillas; da igual el número de rondas que pidas, seguirán poniéndote lo mismo una y otra vez.

Taberna singular del barrio de Chueca, siendo muy antigua con decoración y mobiliario de la época, es un clásico, recomendable por su singularidad.

This taberna is a great spot for a traditional “old world” Madrid bar scene. The bar area is simple and filled with locals. It is no frills and inexpensive but full of charm. They do have a selection of basic tapas and conservas. The olives are delicious.

In the, what must be 20 years that I have been coming to Madrid, a visit to Angel Sierra for me is a must. I’ve always liked its traditional vibe, and a nice crisp caña. I do miss however, being able to drink on the street. When I see many other areas and bars in the city centre that have on-street drinking, I’m perplexed why it’s not allowed here.

Amazing locale with typical Spanish taperia decoration. The vermouth is quite famous here and it is reaaalllyy tasty. For the tapas there are a variety of them so you definitely won’t go hungry. The price is very friendly to almost everyone. We had a couple of empanadas, some vinegar soaked Spanish anchovies (boquerones) and the olives are complimentary if you order a drink or some other tapas (again, very typical). One thing to note is that the restaurant does get quite hot because there are no windows inside, so it would be really cozy in the winter, but it could be an issue in the summer. Amazing staff and service, and again, love the vibe! I’d recommend people visiting (as tourists, expats or even just locals) give this place a try👌🏼

Bustling with localites this age old tavern in the heart of tourist district of Madrid is very much part of the local night life. Tapas and finger food along with the tap service are basic but well accepted among the patrons. Dusty bottles in the open cellar and a greying old fashioned decor adds to the effect. Quick service along with very helpful bartenders and extremely reasonable price makes this place a part of the city's experience though a upgrade in cleanliness would be much appreciated adding score to its popularity.

Sobrevalorado Local algo sucio y muy incómodo. Había mucha gente y al principio no había ninguna superficie, para dejar las consumiciones.. La barra inexistente y sin sitio para dejar nada... Hay otros sitios, más acogedores. Para gustos, los colores

Éramos un grupo de 8 personas, en la terraza había dos mesas y ocho sillas, el resto estaban ocupadas. Juntamos las dos mesas y vino el camarero de muy malas formas para decir que no podíamos juntar las mesas, le dijimos que éramos 8 y dijo que para ocho una mesa, que si no se quedaba sin mesas y que no tenía más sillas. Recapitulemos, en la terraza solo hay dos mesas y ocho sillas, nos ha obligado a soltar una mesa, con lo cual, estamos ocho personas alrededor de una mesa y la que soltamos está libre y sin sillas PORQUE NO HAY MÁS SILLAS, dicho por el camarero… que sentido tiene?? No estábamos muy contentos con el trato y solo faltó una cosa para irnos, y fue que nos dijo que no tenía café. Así que un grupo de 8 que se fue del lugar sin dejarse un duro. NO RECOMIENDO EL LUGAR, tiene mucha tradición pero dudo que haya aguantado tantísimos años con ese trato del personal, además por lo que veo en las reseñas no es la primera vez.

Una vergüenza en Taberna de Ángel Sierra : Como visitantes de Canadá, mis amigos y yo habíamos disfrutado de la maravillosa hospitalidad de Madrid… hasta entrar en este bar. Pedimos varias copas de vermut y, al marcharnos, pregunté educadamente a una mujer tras la barra —rubia, de pelo largo, entre 40 y 55 años, con maquillaje de ojos muy marcado— por el nombre del vermut. Al no hablar español en absoluto, su respuesta fue insultarme con palabras muy fuertes que no se pueden reproducir aquí. Confirmado por otro cliente bilingüe. Pagamos por esas bebidas y, además, fuimos insultados. Todo esto nos dejó un sabor amargo y, literalmente, las copas nos hicieron sentir mal al estómago. Esto es inaceptable. ¿No quiere tratar con turistas? Entonces no trabaje en un bar famoso al que acude gente de todo el mundo. La hospitalidad es acoger, no humillar. Lo que debía ser un cumplido se convirtió en un insulto. La reputación histórica de este local queda manchada por una empleada sin el más mínimo respeto. Vergüenza para ella, vergüenza para el establecimiento por permitirlo. A Disgrace at Taberna de Ángel Sierra: As visitors from Canada, my friends and I had been enjoying the wonderful hospitality of Madrid… until we entered this bar. We ordered several glasses of vermouth and, as we were leaving, I politely asked a woman behind the bar — blonde, with long hair, likely between 40 and 55 years old, with heavy eye makeup — for the name of the vermouth. Since I could not speak Spanish at all, her response was insulting, using very strong curse words that cannot be repeated here. This was confirmed by another bilingual customer. We paid for these drinks and, in addition, were insulted. The experience left a bitter taste and, frankly, the drinks made me feel sick to my stomach. This behavior is completely unacceptable. Don’t want to deal with tourists? Then don’t work in a famous bar that welcomes people from all over the world. Hospitality is about welcoming guests, not humiliating them. What should have been a compliment turned into an insult. The historic reputation of this establishment is tarnished by an employee showing not the slightest respect. Shame on her, and shame on the establishment for allowing it.

19oct25. Nos hicieron levantar de la terraza por falta de sillas cuando del otro lado tenían dos bloqueadas por más del tiempo que estuvimos allí. Más allá de eso, esta reseña va por la actitud de la camarera por la que fuimos atendidos, cuyas formas dejan bastante que desear. Ya no es cuestión de atención al cliente, sino de educación. No recomendable.

Local que ha decidido subir precios manteniendo la bordería característica de su personal. 2,8 por un vermut normalito en un local que apenas tiene sitio para ponerse cuando está algo concurrido. No volveremos.

Estuvimos dentro y pasaron no sé cuantas veces ignorandonos. Cuando fuimos a la barra, contestación despectiva. Quemados y eso que no había casi gente. A los 15 minutos sin atendernos nos fuimos. Pésimo pésimo. Han puesto una foto mentirosa de la terraza, porque solo tienen 3 mesas cutres y están sacando la de la terraza de al lado. Nos fuimos a una cafetería de al lado, que !!!no servía café!!!...a las 16:00

Nos atendió, muy mal, una mujer joven muy malhumorada que se enfadaba por todo, como si tuvieramos que saber las costumbres de la taberna. Pedimos un vermut y un vino blanco en la barra, que nos los sirvieron en 2 vasitos pequeños. Ni el vino ni el vermut estaban ni siquiera aceptables. Nos pusieron una tapita de aceitunas con pimiento rojo. Nos cobraron 5,30€. No volveremos.

Una pena que un bar tan bueno lo lleven camareros tan bordes. En pleno enero la puerta se tiene que quedar abierta porque ellos tienen calor, cuando llevan sudaderas. A lo mejor tienen que ir en manga corta y que los clientes estén a gusto. Dadle una vuelta.
