Hidden gem in Manchester. Stopped for an early dinner and had the broiled seafood platter and chicken marsala. Everything was excellent. Delicious crab cakes, tender scallops and a cozy, log-cabin atmosphere. Service was excellent as well. Worth a trip if you’re in the area.
We were able to make reservations online which made life a lot easier. When we arrived we didn't realize there is a pub entrance and a dinning room entrance. Normally it wouldn't be a big deal as they are connected, but the pub side is smoking. We would catch a sent of the smoke throughout dinner, but believe it was just our proximity to the door connecting the two sections and the servers had to open to door to get drinks from the bar. I think we would just request a table further from that door in the future. We were able to request the menu from the pub as well. Everything was very good, except one of our party seemed to get a crab cake that may have been a day too old, but they immediately took it off our bill. The smoke house burger was my favorite, the sauce they add was great. The potatoes skins were also another stand out.
Great country cottage atmosphere and great service. Food is an upscale selection with a more down-to-Earth feel to it. With my family traditions being in Baltimore/Mid-Atlantic cuisine, it's nice having such a gem right in my back yard. The cream of crab soup was unique with asparagus that complimented surprisingly well. I'd give the restaurant a happy 4.5 due to some nit-picks with the steaks and the crab cakes, but none of my concerns are enough to lower it to 4 since Google doesn't do half stars. Will absolutely come back and I'm sorry I've had this place right down the street for so many years and am just now am checking it out.
What a quaint place to have an intimate dinner if that's your desire ~ large parties welcome there too! Very rich in history, underground railroad is tied in there as well. Log cabin feeling but up to par on latest & greatest top notch dishes. Prime rib, crab cakes ~ yeahh 😋 My goto ALWAYS the Seafood Baked Pasta, with a side of the Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes ~ those always a MUST!!!
Went to Conewago Inn for an early lunch on a Sunday and we had the place entirely to ourselves. Lexia, our server, was friendly and attentive. We got the crab dip (pictured), fish and chips, and shrimp basket (pictured). The fish and chips being catfish rather than haddock was a pleasant surprise. The shrimp basket had so much shrimp. Portions were large and we brought home half of everything we ordered. Will definitely go again! There was a lot of the menu we'd still like to try.
Very impressed with our dinner -- Prime rib and crab dishes. Fine dining in a cozy country setting with very friendly service. Definitely a destination that I will bring visitors from out-of-town, and I'll return to enjoy more of the menu soon!
Cute little place... great appetizers. Great service. Highly recommend. Best fried mozerella of my life. I ate 2 orders.
Amazing dishes! Dinner at the Inn was my Mom's request for her birthday treat. I knew the Inn well years ago before moving from the area. Wow, was I impressed with the menu! My family & I had a nice sampling of appetizers & main dishes around our table to enjoy. The seafood dishes & soups that I tasted rival any 5 star restaurant that I've frequented. They still maintain the local charm & casual, rustic atmosphere to be expected of a "log cabin by the creek" style restaurant & bar, but the quality produced by this kitchen & chef is worthy of 5 star "pinky raising." Portions are quite generous and our service was very good. As they are always busy, parking is often only available in the stone lots, so Ladys, watch those heels! The Ahi Tuna appetizer was truly remarkable & the Butternut Squash crab bisque was in a league all on its own! Thanks for making my Mom's night extra special!
A half-price blackened cheeseburger/blue cheese burger and seasoned fries for about 3.50 !? Delicious !
Was outstanding !! Best grilled chicken i have had . Little pricey but your definitely getting what your paying for in quality . I had the Chicken Chesapeake ! Amazing ... Highly recommend .
Amazing food. Friendly staff. We love this place.
Excellent service, Excellent drinks, and Excellent hot dog with Sour Kraut Served at the bar by Nikki
We came here Friday night for dinner. We got the crabby tots as an appetizer, and they were really good(actually had good amount of crab, unlike other places). I got the 8 Oz flat iron with a tossed salad(which was big) and a baked potato. My fiance got the chicken chessapeake with French fries and fried Brussel sprouts. Both of our entrees and sides were delicious, total bill including tip was $75. Was very happy with our experience here
Stopped in late at 7:33 and asked if we were too late to sit and eat. They said absolutely not and welcomed us to pick anywhere we wanted to sit. The waitress was great, and the food was amazing, and then after eating till we were stuffed and having alcohol with our meal, the total bill for my wife and I was only $47. We had just stopped here because we were in the area, but we will definitely make the trip back.
Great food , pretty good service and decent atmosphere!
I love going to dinner here,. Food is delish, staff are very friendly.
Great food, great service, I hope they have the gift certificate deal again this holiday season.
Great food, great people, great service! I love this bar!
Cool spot nice menu and good food. Yes, you can smoke at the bar. The smoke eater took care of the smell
My friend and I were looking for a place to get good salads for a light meal. She suggested Conewqgo Inn. I was not disappointed. I had the Cobb salad which was fresh and crisp and very tasty. My friend enjoyed the Chef Salad, loaded with greens and lots of meat. We both had enough to take home a second meal. Don't forget to ask for some fresh from the oven rolls and raspberry butter. Our server was friendly and helpful. The inn is charming. We were there at an off hour so I didn't do much more than glance at the dinner entrees but the selections looked good.
Classic PA diner on one side, smokey dive bar on the other. We had a large party join us on the diner side. The food was great and came out fast. The staff were very accommodating and the price was very reasonable.
I live in the area and decided to finally try it out! We stayed in the pub side, and I enjoyed it. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, the pool tables were extremely popular. The "regulars" are all kind and struck up conversation with us almost immediately. Ordered off of the after hours menu and the chicken strips and fresh cut fries were phenomenal! Ordered an orange dream slushie and it did not disappoint either. The bartender was attentive and kind. Even when dealing with the drunks. Ten out of ten! Will definitely be stopping back in.
Nikki was great!!! My fiancé and I are TERRIBLE at making reservations but we somehow managed to get bar seating here and with how busy it was. Nikki made sure we, and everyone else was taken care of. She made us great cocktails, gave us great company, and we had a great meal! Thank you for making our baby free valentine’s day great :) !! We’ve been here once before and after the experience she gave us, we will be back for sure!
Came for dinner tonight and was greeted very warmly upon arrival. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was awesome! The prime rib was perfect and the house made sangria was really tasty. The prices seemed very high but in the time of COVID, I know a lot of restaurants have had to raise their prices. Would definitely return again.
Excellent food and service. A little pricey, but worth it. She crab soup thick and creamy with plenty of crab. Blue crab cake had very little filler. Steamed clams fresh, but could have been cleaned a little better - some sand. Lobster done to perfection and broiled haddock moist. Overall great dining experience and will return.
Can’t say anything bad about this restaurant. We’ve been here about 4 times and the food plus service is always fantastic. One time we forgot to make reservation and the host still took us in. We love bring our family and friends here. It’s cozy and we always have friendly conversations with the owners. Never had a bad cold meal there. We’re ready to go back!
I took a family member for his birthday based on my experience pre pandemic. I've talked about taking him there for years. We're both foodies and I was hoping things did not change. I suggested the seafood platter. Needless to say we were all loving our dinners. He has told everyone of our great experience. That's the reaction I was looking for. Our server was fantastic and the atmosphere is warm and quaint.
Everytime we get food from here I'm very impressed. The location is kinda deceptive, it looks like your run of the mill bar/restaraunt both inside and out. Nothing bad to say about it, just doesnt scream "This place has amazing food". The food, however, IS awesome. I've personally tried the fried fish basket, the wings (bbq and buffalo flavor), the crab dip, and the bacon cheeseburger. Everything I've had has been phenomenal and I'm always looking to order again. While I have not personally tried it, my roommate swears by the Italian panini.
This place is great. I have never had anything that I didn’t like. Some of the best cream of crab I have ever had. The waitresses are so friendly and totally on top of the service. I would highly recommend this place. Go and check them out.
Had a lovely experience once again at Conewago Inn Saturday late afternoon. 5 of us were seated quickly and immediately attended by Jennifer for drink orders. Had 5 different meals and ALL were wonderful! The Prime Rib is exquisitely seasoned and prepared to perfection. Another of our group had eaten there several times previously and ordered the same meal - the Salmon. She wanted to try something different but couldn't pass up that salmon again. Jennifer was attentive, but not intrusive - exactly how a waitress should be, IMO. Fantastic experience and we will be visiting many more times.
I've been coming here almost since opening day. Like every restaurant they struggled a little during Covid and it's aftermath. But they are back at the top of their game! The new menu is wonderful and food is tasty and high quality. I'll be bringing family/ guests here every time they visit. I highly recommend it.
Steak was cooked perfectly. The green beans had a wonderful taste. The salad was very good. I liked being able to sit in an enclosed patio area and see outside while being in air conditioning. The waitress was friendly and did her job well.
Upon arriving I said to my wife, this does not look like a place you would need to make reservations. But as the old saying goes, you cannot judge a book by it's cover. At the front door there is a metal ramp up to the door frame (most likely for handicap access.) However, there is about a 2 inch gap between door frame and ramp...could be dangerous for someone wearing heels. We were instantly greeted upon entering by a smiling waitress. Surprisingly our table was ready, with freshly filled glasses of ice water with lemon. The menu, while not overly large, offers a fairly nice array of options. There is a special of the day board on each table. Fresh rolls, butter and a chocolate raspberry sauced were brought out. Mmmmm delicious. My wife and I opted for the Pasta Special, which was Tortellini Alfredo. We both added shrimp($8 upcharge) to the $15 dish. What a very pleasant surprise when the large dish came to the table...lots of multicolored tortellini and the type of shrimp you would normally see in a shrimp cocktail. ALL large, tasty and succulent. The Tortellini was Al Dente, as it should have been. Our friends ordered a Cobb Salad which was huge, and the Cavatappi Alfredo with shrimp. None us was disappointed. The Waitress made sure our drinks were refilled. Although stuffed we all decided to order dessert, which was one for each couple to be shared. Good selection of options. My wife and I went with cheesecake and our friends shared a lemon raspberry cake. I cheerfully recommend this restaurant. Just note, if you are coming from Route 30 you may speed by it once in front of it, as both my friends and I did. Bon Appetite!
This has become one of our favorite spots. The staff is super friendly and food is delicious (we try something different every time we've been, and yet to be disappointed). Owners are welcoming and always out engaging with their guests. Will continue to support this local landmark and enjoy unique dishes from their well planned seasonal menus. Also, thank you to Jenny for bringing joy to our little ones!
This place has really good seafood and the fresh cut fries are great as well the only thing I didn't care for was the coleslaw it is sliced thick and has little dressing on it. I prefer the finely shredded type.
Second time here in two weeks and have enjoyed everything we have ordered. Seafood platter, smokehouse burger, wings, and Philly cheesesteak. Philly cheesesteak said it would come with cheddar but came with what seem to be mozzarella which was fine. Only downfall is both times I have been here since the new menu has been available, they have been out of the steam pot. Definitely will come back and recommend to anyone for a new place to try.
Very good Thanksgiving dinner with great service.
Food was just okay. Food did not come out hot, prime rib 🫣. Crab cake was very salty and I like salt? 🤨 Several weeks previous we had excellent seafood meals.
We’ve been here a handful of times over the past 4 years, and have had varying degrees of food quality. This past weekend we went, and I ordered the Surf and Turf, medium rare with scallops. The steak was well done on one end, and rare on the other end, fatty, and tough. Scallops were tasteless aside from the hefty amount of Old Bay seasoning. We want to like this place, but given the quality of the food and how much you pay for it, I don’t think we’ll be coming back soon.
Have gone here for years and the crab cakes were so good with very little filler. Today I was really disappointed. They had tons of filler and the price went up a ton. Which I understand with everything but don’t raise the prices and lower the quality. Will not be raving about the crab cakes anymore. Sorry. They used to be so good but not anymore. 😞 Also my green beans were cold.
It was ok. The sides were cold and bland. Couldn't taste any garlic on my garlic bread. My carbonara was ok. Too buttery/greasy. Overall, the food was overpriced for the quality. The server hustled and worked hard. It was obvious they were understaffed, and she was trying her best.
This place was always a favorite but we may have eaten our last meal here. Portion size was down, price was up and flavor was diminished. We both had Conewago Filets, one was very rare and both were missing the burgundy sauce. Our sides were very small portions. 3 stars were given based on years of history enjoying this place not our most recent meal!
Our server, Katie S. Tonight, clearly did not want to be at her job, or didn’t want to leave a good impression as evident of our awful service tonight. With extremely long wait times of drinks, placing orders, asking for more water 3 times before finally getting a pitcher to the table, missing food; and when we said we didn’t get it, she replied with “I know”, the list goes on. No apologies were given, and she clearly did not care about our experience or wanting to make it better. Food was decent but portions were very small for the price. Had high hopes for this dinner but was sadly let down badly. We definitely won’t be returning and if I were the owner I would be much more observant with guest experiences with said server.
Valentines Day 2024. Have NEVER had a bad experience coming here....until today....reservation for wife and I. Both ordered food off of Valentines menu. Wife Mahi Mahi special and crab cakes for me. Bit into crabcakes and was VERY disappointed...something was off and after wife tasted determined to be excessive amount of lemon pepper, ruined any flavor of crabcakes but didn't complain. Everyone has an off day. Now to wife's Mahi. Center was cold and raw and had to have Alisha who wasn't our waitress return and didn't see our waitress immediately after to apologize. As sitting waiting on redo on Mahi we hear of all these drink specials and dessert specials not on menu but NEVER once mentioned to us? I'm being generous with a 2 star rating on my experience this evening. No apology for raw fish from waitress who is the front person...it wasn't her fault fish was raw but to be the front person with no apology looks bad. 50 percent off meal that ended up being to go was OK. Refire of fish was steaming, wish my crabcakes were better. Gonna be awhile before returning.
Our family visited for the first time on Mother's Day. When the reservations were made, it was not explained that Mothers Day has a specific menu and different hours. We intended on ordering the crab cakes that were highly recommended by neigbors but found out that we could not. While that should have been communicated at the time reservations were made, we stayed and ordered from the special menu. Our food took just shy of an hour to come out, and the waitress told us a few times while waiting that she didn't understand what was taking so long. We didn't care much thinking it would be freshly prepared, but unfortunately, that was not the case. One plate came out with cold sauce over top of dried out, hard noodles. Another plate was cold salmon. Next, we found that they had shorter hours for Mother's Day, and we had 15 minutes to eat, pay, and leave. Maybe the food from their normal menu would be better because it is made to order, but after today's experience, I have no desire to return to try it.
I ordered the 6 oz filet cooked med rare. Toughest piece of meat ever. I couldn't cut it. Tore off a bit, and couldn't chew it. Did not eat it. Scallop potatoes were a dry blob. Broccoli was saturated in low grade balsamic that was bitter. I spent $30 on a meal I did not eat. I ate 1 dinner roll. Service was satisfactory, though staff wasn't trained to answer questions concerning the history of the inn. We paid. Husband said his food was ok. I don't think I will go again.
We so enjoyed our Dinners in Spring and Early summer at Conewago Inn with friends...Great food and our Great server "Gator" (who is now the Bar Manager and not a server :-( BUT We were the second table seated at 6pm last Friday. No server approached our table for almost 15 minutes! Finally I asked a young girl who was busy brewing coffee and filling water pitchers (I thought she was a "Bus girl") "Excuse me, do you know who our server is?" Her reply was: "Oh, that's me what do you want?" She never told us her name (on the receipt it was KOTA} and she is not suited for the job at this time. Food did NOT come close to the Spring and early Summer (was told a new chef and new menu)... So disappointing. So many other options....
The food is trifling no seasoning if people actually eat here it’s probably because they can’t cook and do not season Their food would not recommend this is the second time I’ve had their food and it is nasty both times. I ordered to go .
The food was delicious, but unfortunately due to the terrible service provided by our waitress we will not be returning. We had a party of 6 and waited well over 15 minutes before our drink order was taken. Sadly, we understand that is a struggle in many locations since the pandemic so we didn’t think anything of it. We asked for more water three times before she was able to return with a pitcher to fill our cups. After ordering and receiving an appetizer we asked for more bread to finish our crab dish which we received with our meal when our appetizer was now cold. One of the members in our party ordered fries as a side. He told her he was waiting on them to which she responded they were coming, but they never came. Throughout our 2 hour timeframe spent there our waitress hardly checked on us. She started grabbing a plate with a whole chicken breast on it when I grabbed the other side of the plate and asked if I could have a box to save half my meal I didn’t finish. I asked for a loaded baked potato with cheese and bacon and received a plain baked potato. After spending well over $300, we informed her that the French fries for one of us were never delivered to which she responded “I know.” The window was broken in the room we sat in and there was a steady draft. We told the waitress and she said oh yeah that does feel like an air conditioner, but never offered to move us to a better location in a completely open restaurant. Honestly the list goes on, but the worst part is that there was never empathy or an apology from the waitress.
Ordered an 8oz prime rib. 31.00. Alot of fat for 31.00. Not sure we will be back. Very disappointed!! Cook should have been ashamed to serve that piece of fat with a little bit of meat on it in my book! Have always had a nice piece of prime rib in the past as that's what kept us coming as a return customer! Plus prices have really been raised and quality/quanity failing!
