Opinions de Pearl East Manhasset
One of the remaining old school sit down Chinese restaurants with white table cloth. Prices are fair, food is fresh, service is great. If you want reliable Chinese food, Pearl East is your place to eat. The seafood soup is delicious, the paper shrimp is homemade, the soft filo around the shrimp is fried to perfection everytime. We always go for the Lobster with ginger and scallion, I highly recommend it. Fresh lobster! I am getting hungry just writing this review.
This is the best restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life. The food is fresh and delightfully gourmet and the staff provided outstanding beyond imaginable service. I am obsessed. And can’t wait to return. It is an amazing place for friends to meet for a night out if you’re looking for an A+ dining experience. Highly recommend!
It’s been a while since we last visited Pearl East and it’s just as delicious as I remember. The service was excellent from start to finish. Pearl, as always, was incredibly friendly and attentive, personally stopping by each table to make sure everyone was happy . The food was outstanding and beautifully presented. Pearl’s reputation truly speaks for itself-You can tell why this place has such a great reputation the moment you walk in. A must visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional Chinese cuisine.
Have passed by Pearl East For years . Have been meaning to try it after seeing it on a cooking show . Didn’t know anything about it . Got the idea to go on New Years Eve and wow what an experience. Greeted by a nice hostesss and also the reservation desk. The ambiance just felt right very bright good noise level good energy . The menu is extensive and seems like classic Chinese cuisine along with some sushi. Great decor. So many great choices couldn’t decide so got the orange crispy duck and some pork soup dumplings. Both were very authentic and full of flavor reminds me of great Chinese food of years ago. Waiters and staff were very friendly it just seemed like a timeless place great experience . Would go back for sure and be a regular 😀
I recently visited Pearl East with a friend to celebrate a personal event. My friend had been to this restaurant several times and highly recommended it, so I decided to give it a try—and I’m glad I did! From the moment we arrived, I was impressed. Pearl East has a humongous parking lot, with free parking both in front and behind the restaurant, including convenient spots for people with disabilities right in front of the entrance. We went for lunch, which is served from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at a fixed price, with plenty of options on the menu. For appetizers, I ordered fried dumplings, and my friend opted for an egg roll. For our main courses, I had shrimp with mixed vegetables, while my friend chose crispy shredded beef. Both meals came with fried rice, and we also enjoyed tea along with pistachio and strawberry ice cream for dessert. To accompany our meal, I had a glass of Prosecco, and my friend enjoyed a Margarita on the rocks. While the portions of the appetizers weren't very large, the main courses were generous enough to leave us feeling full and satisfied. The service was outstanding. Our waiter, Philip, was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He managed to always be attentive without being intrusive—never missing a sign when we needed him. He was constantly refilling our water glasses, even though we hardly noticed him moving around. The ambiance of Pearl East is worth mentioning as well. The interior is elegant, with carpeted floors, beautifully arranged tables, and nice touches like cloth napkins. Even the bathroom was well-maintained, with glass doors and a remarkable chandelier that added to the overall experience. The restaurant was clean, quiet, and had a comfortable atmosphere, with enough space between tables for different group sizes. We also noticed security cameras inside, which added a sense of protection. Overall, I highly recommend Pearl East for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or just have a nice lunch while catching up with friends. My experience was delightful from start to finish, and I’m giving this place a well-deserved 5 out of 5. Thank you, Pearl East!
The food was phenomenal. We went with high expectations and left with those expectations being met. At first it did take about 10 minutes to just get our order in because it was busy, but then things started moving. Our server, Joe, did everything he could to make sure we got the best food on the menu and he made us feel so comfortable. Overall I had no complaints and we will surely be back soon!
My recent visit to Pearl East was a delightful surprise in the world of Chinese dining. This spot offered a genuinely enjoyable experience that left me thoroughly satisfied. The Boneless Spare Ribs stole the show, a perfect harmony of sweet and savory, charred to perfection. The Soup Dumplings were a simple yet flavorful treat, and the Noodles, both Don Don and Curry, hit the spot in terms of taste and texture. The Eggplant dish deserves a nod for its delicious execution, a must for anyone craving a vege friendly dish. The service at Pearl East was top-notch, with waitstaff that was not only excellent but also attentive to our needs. The owner personally greeted patrons, radiating kindness and creating a welcoming atmosphere that added to the overall dining experience. The ambiance at Pearl East is a delightful fusion of modern chic and traditional elegance. The tasteful décor created an inviting atmosphere that complemented the exquisite flavors on the menu. In short, Pearl East is a solid choice for those craving quality Chinese cuisine.
Loved this place. The place is beautiful. It is spacious and beautifully decorated. The service is very good. The food was 😋. This is an upscale Chinese restaurant. They also have some Japanese food. Some dishes are on the pricey side but the lunch special is a great deal. They bring a teapot as soon as you sit down and the long crispy noodles with two sauces on the side, Duck Sauce and Hot Mustard Sauce. At the end of the meal we got Chocolate Fortune Cookies. I had the lunch special which includes a choice of soup or an appetizer ( in both these categories you have three or four to pick from) a choice of Soda. I chose not to get Soda. I had the Vegetable Spring Roll, which was very good. You get a choice of Protein. I had Crispy Shrimp with Walnuts and you get a choice of Rice (Roast Pork Fried Rice, White Rice or Brown Rice) I had the Pork Fried Rice and it was very good. The Shrimp were large and juicy. The glaze on them plus the Walnuts made it even more delicious. It was delicious, a good amount of food and affordable. They also have a full bar. I didn't have any of their Cocktails on this visit but from what I read on their menu, they seem really good. I highly recommend this restaurant.
My first time here after many years. When I worked in the area we would order from here or dine in often. Love the food! Delicious and always a great place to dine with family and friends. The staff is friendly, service better and the atmosphere is clean, safe and warm. The menu has a wide selection to satisfy everyone's taste. Would recommend this restaurant and can't wait to come back again (sooner rather than later this time around).
One of our favorite places for authentic Chinese and Japanese food. The place just keeps getting better with time. There is free parking and the service is always on point. The food is prepared fresh and the service staff is always willing to make changes within reason to accommodate any preference.
Grew up eating here. It is such a solid Chinese restaurant most of the customers are senior citizens but that makes the vibe so much better in my opinion. It’s just a relaxing nice place with INSANELY amazing food. The pearl east roll is amazing. The snow pea leaves are amazing. Something that’s not on the menu that is great is the shrimp in the black bean lobster sauce. It is divine if you ask the waiter for it he will know what your talking about.
Best Chinese food in the area. Not cheap and delivery can take a while on busy nights, but worth it. Nice dining room too if you want to dine in person. Have also used them a couple of times to cater events and they did an excellent job. Good was great and they laid it out beautifully, including amazing sculptures from food.
Very good old school Chinese. I would have given them 5 stars, except they forgot the scallops in our $20 seafood udon. They came back and threw in 2 cut up scallops. They also need to give you big fried noodles like they used to. The little noodles aren’t as good. I loved this place and will be back, but since they are nickel and dime-in’ over this stuff it’s not 5 stars to me!
There are very few American style Chinese restaurants remaining on Long Island and even fewer with atmosphere, service, and reasonably good food. Pearl East is truly a jewel from days gone by.
The restaurant is gorgeous. The aesthetics are beautiful the moment you walk in. The service is good. We had a waiter on a Thursday night who was very knowledgeable about the entire food menu which was awesome. The food itself was a bit over priced and didn’t equate to the taste or worth. The sushi was delicious and fresh. The whole fish lacked flavor. The prawns are cooked perfectly and are juicy but for the price, not enough. Love the complimentary chips with sweet sauces and a horse-radish-like sauce. The hot tea is fantastic. The best thing about this place is the fried duck appetizers aka the dim sum.
After friends had highly recommended this place, was looking forward to trying out. By chance, we went right after Lunar New Years and experienced a show from the local kids' Chinese culture society. It was a beautiful enhancement to our dinner, but due to it, service was slow. It took quite a while for us to even order food. The thing I liked most was the dim sum, which I was surprised they had available for dinner. The spicy Mongolian steak was also delicious, but the rest not as noteworthy. Also valet parking which I'm not a fan of, but it was Saturday nite, so understandable. Overall a good experience, but other places have better quality and more authentic Chinese food, at lesser prices.
We came in while it was empty. They prioritized DoorDash/takeout orders. We waited an hour and a half for food, ended up leaving when they told us we would have to wait an additional 30 minutes. What food did come out was cold. When I asked the manager about it, she was extremely rude and lied to my face saying that they don’t do DoorDash, however I had table right by the hostess who kept announcing loudly that DoorDash orders were ready. I didn’t know pearl went from restaurant to take out location. Just awful. I do not recommend.
Always loved this place, but not tonight. I get it. It’s the night before Thanksgiving so it’s a busy time, but that is no excuse. I’ve gotten more attention in a fast food place than I did tonight from our waiter. I had to get the attention of our waiter three times: once to get a second set of chopsticks because the bus boy never delivered; another time to get a second drink; and a third time when he had the audacity to assume that we did not want dessert. They seem to have a nice built-in patronage that has put them on automatic pilot leaving anyone outside that circle unattended. If you are willing to part with this much money ($150 for two), then I can guarantee you that there are nearby restaurants with excellent food that have waiters that know enough to ask If you were happy with your meal and if there’s anything else they can get you.
Found cockroach in the food during a recent visit, was very upsetting. Immediately called the establishment very discreetly and respectfully to discuss the food issue. Didnt want to go in and upset other guests. The older female manager finally offered to replace the meal with another. No thanks! Ended up going down the street to the steak house for dinner and it was phenomenal. After several phone calls and messages I finally called and spoke with the owner who was out of town at the time of the incident. (Cathy) was very arrogant about the bugs with a cold sorry and admitted they just had a huge extermination. She offered to refund the $17 if I would email her the address (live in the Boston area). Still can't find an email on the website. All in all, the way Pearl East handled the situation was very appalling and disrespectful. I wonder what that kitchen looks like and if they need an inspection.
