Opinions de Frank's down town Cafe Manteca
I love dining inside Frank's Downtown Cafe. They are located in front of the Manteca Post Office. The owner Frank is very genuine. He greets you and the service is excellent!! The price isn't bad too. Food is fast and customer service is excellent!! Thank you Frank!! You guys are awesome!! I give them a 5 Star!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Excellent experience and service I plan on being a repeat customer very good all around.
Had breakfast here with three friends after an early morning hike. I ordered the veggie omelet with country potatoes and sourdough. They had a full house inside so we sat outside. Everything tasted wonderful and our server, Stacie took great care of us. She was very attentive and did everything with a smile. 😊
My husband and I ate here for the first time and everything was perfect. Great atmosphere, great service and the food was delicious!
SUPER FRIENDLY!!!! I so appreciated the warm greetings and smiles☺️ Food was very good 💯 Service was fast and accurate. A bit noisy inside but very clean 🫧 Lots of families coming in and SUPER BUSY which says a lot. Everything met my expectations and the friendly staff exceeded my expectations by far.
Very good cafe. Breakfast is delicious and great service. Love the small hometown feel and kindness.
I believe that this is the best breakfast in Manteca. The service is always great. The food is always just how you ask for it. It is a smaller restaurant so you will want to get here before the line starts forming but they are also quick with getting the food out so even if there is a line, it usually won't be too long of a wait. I would definitely recommend Frank's for breakfast.
OMG! Finally found a great breakfast spot since moving to Lathrop. Food was on point. Loved they offered fresh salsa with my veggie omelet and for a veggie omelet it had flavor. Pancake was one of the best so fluffy. The orange juice tasty and fresh. My husband's chorizo and breakfast sausage links were so good. Love the small family feel and amazing customer service. Found our breakfast spot. 😋
I usually come for breakfast with my kids all the time. My youngest loves their country potatoes and it is one of few ways I can get him to eat all his veggies. Also, they make a damn good burger. You know it's good when you don't need to add any mustard or ketchup. The environment feels like a classic cafe place, simple but good. Thanks for all the years of great service and food!
The vegetable omelette with a pancake and a side of country potatoes was absolutely delicious! Every bite was satisfying and full of flavor—the perfect way to start the day. I’ve been thinking about this meal ever since and can’t wait for the next time I get to go back!
Great food and great customer service at this place. Not a big eating area inside but tables outside if you prefer. I had the Portuguese skillet and it was full of flavor. The chorizo and bacon made my taste buds go crazy. Would highly recommend and will for sure return.
My daughter and I really enjoy our breakfast outings at this charming café! The breakfast menu is impressive, with a variety of delicious options that cater to all tastes. Each dish we've tried has been consistently flavorful and satisfying. The staff members are incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome every time we visit. The owner is particularly engaging and always takes the time to greet us, which adds a personal touch to our dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this delightful spot to anyone looking for a great breakfast in a warm and inviting environment.
Fresh ingredients, wholesome service, can get busy but definitely worth the wait
This place is awesome, the music is great, the food is so good, if you haven't gotten a chance to visit, it's worth it 😀
Whole family loves going to Franks! We drive here from Tracy to enjoy breakfast since we found this spot last year. Can’t go wrong with a basic all American breakfast and Mexican hot chocolate! I believe even the orange juice is fresh. We sat outside this last weekend and it was nice and warm with the overhead heaters. Service is always great! Some times it can get really busy especially inside as it is a smaller place. I think it just depends on the time you go, so get there early like we did!
The food and service was amazing........very cute and immaculately clean......you can literally taste the love cooked in the food.....the tall waitress was really sweet! My only suggestion get a bigger location so more people can come!
I didn’t get to meet Frank, but wow—this café was busy, friendly, and delicious. Very happy I chose it. I had the half-pound ham and eggs and it was perfect.
Great place to have brunch!! So much food!! The wait staff was the best!!
First time coming here for breakfast. From the time we parked in front of the restaurant, we were welcomed and invited to come in by one of the staff. We were seated immediately and served by Bryan. Food was good and service was fast and courteous. It's a small restaurant, but very popular and busy.
Love frank's Cafe. Frank and the whole stuff is so lovely with great service. The sunrise breakfast sandwich is favorite My husband had the sausages and eggs with hash browns. The sausages so so good and I'm not big on sausages and these were full of good flavor.
Serendipitous Delight! After our first option for breakfast didn't work out, we made a wrong turn at just the right time. Plenty of outdoor seating, with about nine tables inside, Frank's was easily able to accommodate us. Especially important for a giant like me. I didn't feel squeezed in. There are plenty of menu options. I can personally vouch for their fluffy, golden brown pancakes. They were bigger than I expected. Eggs and bacon were perfection. Attentive staff!
Food was really good, big portion sizes, small place but brought back the home town feeling.
Went to Franks today for the 1st time. I had heard good things but for some reason never visited this restaurant. My Mistake - it was good. I wanted breakfast did a quick search and Franks popped up. I noticed that I had tagged it as a place to visit. I’m glad we went there today for breakfast. I ordered the Ham & Eggs. It is served with 3 eggs, your choice of hash browns or country potatoes, and your choice of Toast or Pancake or a Biscuit. I selected hash browns (cooked really nicely) and. Biscuit (since they make their biscuits fresh). I really enjoyed my meal. Their coffee is good also. My wife had a their breakfast burrito and again you choose hash browns or country potatoes with Chorizo. It was really big and it was very good. I was lucky enough to steal a bite. The service was also very good. I would highly recommend Franks for Breakfast. I will go back and try other things another time. Definitely glad that we finally went to Frank’s!!!
10/2022: Came back shortly after they reopened and it was/still is great! There's not much to say or add so just come by and try it out for yourself. The pictures are from the first time there but my mom and I went back a second time and everything was great just as the first time. I had the special chicken fried steak and it was a perfect portion made me full before I could finish it. The pancakes are amazing (not exaggerating) they seriously have a really good flavor and fluffy, I think i would have to try Black bear diner again to compare them. Either way perfect location easy access to parking and even though its somewhat small inside the food is amazing. My next one to try would be an omelet lol already thinking about a third time. Ohh and that OJ even though it might be pricy but it definitely is fresh you can taste it. Would recommend to anyone 👍👍
Best. Place. Ever. Had a good time here. All servers were so nice and accommodating. They kept coming by refilling our drinks. Food was delicious. 5/5
Great overall experience, great food. Staff is very kind and attentive. They have heaters for the outside seating as well.

Food was fast, fresh, and generous portions. Service was phenomenal and Frank is present ensuring everything runs smoothly. Very nice man. Definitely a hidden gem!
I love this place, I love their food, and I love Frank! I lived in Manteca in the 1990s and I used to work at a restaurant that Frank owned. I started there right after he sold the place so I didn’t get to work with him personally. I love going to his restaurant now from my home in the Bay Area when I visit friends in Manteca. This is one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! I have to pass through Manteca on Saturday on my way to Fresno and I am definitely stopping at Frank’s for breakfast and to get a big hug!
Wonderful food at a great price! Dog friendly in limited (5?) outdoor seating area. Friendly and attentive staff. Thank you!

Good food and good service. It’s nice walking into a place and automatically feel comfortable. I gave 4 stars because the fries didn’t live up to my expectations. There was absolutely no garlic on them (I love garlic so I was disappointed) and hardly any cheese or bacon. The sandwich was ok but it lacked and there was no love put into it. Kept on falling apart. Their bacon is yummy! This is a good lil diner. Keep in mind they get busy and close extremely early. I do recommend. Everyone was nice!
Just stopped in for a quick bite. Service was great, especially the lady that stayed us and took our order, she was friendly and funny.
Franks cafe in manteca has very good food. Great service. Indoor and outdoor seating. It is a smaller café so it does fill up.
The food here is good. Solid salads, burgers, and breakfast foods. I think the photos speak for themselves. My daughter loved her PB shake and burger. My husband loved the homestyle potatoes. My rib eye steak on the salad was tender and juicy with a good amount of seasoning. Mybonly regret was not ordering the rib eye on the side as I lost some of the flavor mixed in with the salad. Very cozy little space. It does get a bit crowded but the wait time was not terrible. The owner is very personable and I very much enjoyed the level of customer service.

Based on reviews was expecting really great food. Ordered a chorizo omelette w/ spinach & french toast. Got my food thru door dash & my omelette was orange. At first I thought it was burnt but after cutting into it, it seems there was something put in the batter & it was fried that way. The french toast was tasteless even with syrup. Maybe dine in is a better experience.
I came here for lunch and ordered off their breakfast menu. I had Corned beef hash with country potatoes with two eggs scrambled. For my bread option I had a biscuit with gravy. For my beverage I had the fresh squeezed orange juice as well as ice water. The juice sizes were minuscule. I suggest ordering two of them, maybe three. The food flavors were delicious! I would have loved to give a 5 star rating but I was never checked on or asked how my meal was. However, despite my experience I would still come back. Just not anytime soon.

Extremely high price for take-out! It was over $80 for 4 sandwiches with fries. On the online menu it is $13 for a steak sandwich but I guess it is $20 bucks. They lied about the prices. Anyways, the food was not worth $80, and when I called on the phone there was no mention of the prices! Now I know why. 😔. Overall, the chicken sandwich here is worse than the chicken sandwich at McDonald's.
I have never been to this place so since I was in the area to go to the post office across the street, I wanted to try it. Well, there were no tables just now so I ended up leaving at this very moment.
Disappointing experience and poor customer service I recently visited Frank’s Downtown Café with a friend after work, and unfortunately, our experience was not pleasant at all. When we arrived, no one greeted or acknowledged us, even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. We were dressed casually in sweats and sweaters after a long day, but it really felt like we were being ignored or judged from the moment we walked in. We ordered small items off the kids’ menu because we weren’t very hungry and just wanted to relax with some coffee and conversation. Our server only checked on us once, while nearby tables were being attended to multiple times. When we got our check, we noticed that we had been overcharged compared to the prices listed on the menu. When I politely asked about it, the cashier told us there was an age restriction on the kids’ menu — something our waiter never mentioned when we ordered, and there’s nothing on the menu stating that policy. As we were discussing the difference in price, the same employee walked by and made a sarcastic comment: “It’s only a dollar difference.” That was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. It’s not about the dollar — it’s about honesty and customer respect. To make matters worse, we could hear staff in the back talking about us afterward, which was incredibly disrespectful. The whole experience left a bad impression, and it felt like we were being stereotyped or treated differently for no reason. I won’t be returning, and I’d suggest others double-check their receipts and menu prices here. Poor communication, poor service, and unprofessional behavior.
These guys are hurting for money so bad, that they charge gratuity fees for families when they have “three small children”. Shocked to see gratuity fees for my family, three children under the ages of six. Definitely not a family friendly restaurant. Do not recommend their French toast, very dry no egg batter whatsoever…

I’m sad to say we’ve never felt so unwelcome. I’m not sure what about us you didn’t like and I’m guessing you’re the owner. I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt while you were going back-and-forth, I tried several times to make eye contact with you and smile thinking maybe you were having a bad day, but we heard you be cordial and conversational with several other people in the dining area. when we first sat down, you wouldn’t even look our way, placing our menus & silverware on the table with palpable disdain. It was so uncomfortable we considered leaving. At one point you actually came over, reached across us and our food to take something off the shelf at our booth without saying a word, I for some reason said I sorry and you said it was OK like I had done something wrong. I’m very bummed out that we wasted almost $50 of our hard earned money to eat a meal there, we’ve been there several times, but we won’t ever be back. You certainly seem old enough to know that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.
