Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca is a hit with families, especially those with kids. The indoor water park and various activities keep children entertained. Some guests find it expensive, crowded, and noisy, with average food quality.

Tip: Consider visiting during off-peak times or looking for deals to manage costs. Be aware that the water park can get crowded.

Such a fun place to visit with kids for birthday parties just for a family outing or just for something to do. It’s a fully indoor arena for many activities for the kids to indulge in their things for kids who do not want to get wet plus activities for both the rooms are a decent size for you staying that way you can enjoy your full-time at the hotel as soon as you exit off of the highway, the hotel is in close proximity however it doesn’t appear that there are lots of things around to get food so take that in mind the staff is always super super friendly and ready to accommodate and help you along your excursion at their facility however parking is atrocious. It is very very limited and if you’re dropping someone off if you’re there for more than 30 minutes, you will have to pay for parking just for dropping someone off. It is also a bit of a bummer that parents have to pay to enter the facility to watch their small children enjoying their day at the water, even if they are not going to partake in any of the facilities activities to be honest there are lots of food places inside to grab a snack or a bite to eat however, it is extremely overpriced
It is a blast for the kids. They have activities for them around the clock, arcades, mini golf, zip climbing, stores, magic quest, and ofcourse the indoor pools and slides. The rooms are spacious and there breakfast and food is delicious. The whole family had a blast. My daughter had a wonderful birthday and I enjoyed my family. Thank you wolf lodge. There is a dance party in the lobby at 9pm get there!
Exceptional customer service regarding Dining Credits! We had a wonderful stay at Great Wolf Lodge. I specifically want to highlight their amazing customer service. We purchased a Dining Deal but ended up not using any of the credits during our stay. Even though the official policy states they are non-refundable, the management team was incredibly understanding and processed a full refund for us. It’s rare to find such a guest-oriented approach these days. We truly appreciate the honesty and will definitely be back!
This place was so much fun!!!!! rooms were clean,no bugs, a little bit pricy but overall, the best and i totally recommend also im a kid and i stole my moms computer to write this HEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEH let me add a little side note someone decided to let their fellow children pull the fire alarm and think it was funny but as a 7 year old at that time, PURE CHAOS ... but eventually that same kid who pulled the fire alarm "drowned" and a lifeguard had to go "save" him but other than that stuff, greaaaaaaat experience and byeeeee or shoukd i say... HOWLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS 🐺
With 11 grandkids. I'm always looking for something special to do with them. One of the mentioned Great Wolf Lodge a friend in their class went to it and said they had a blast. So I thought why not. I have five of them to live near me, the Sierra foothills of central California and there is a Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca. Even though it is winter technically, I got a room for us all and spent the following day with them on all the water slides and water park. My son took care of while they were getting wet and I just stayed in the room. I'm really glad I didn't invite all 11 of them because I probably couldn't have afforded it. A little on the pricey side, but if you could see the happiness in their faces when the day was over it was priceless. So if you want to do something out of the norm and something the kids are really enjoy contact Great Wolf Lodge and plan a trip for you and the kids. Everybody should at least do it once. And then on as often as you could afford it about all I have to say stay safe and have a wonderful day.
We stayed for one night and enjoyed the waterpark and all the extras for 2 full days. My kids 5 & 8 had a great time. All the staff was really nice and attentive. We will come again. I do however wish the person who checked us in could have been more informative, instead of just directing me to the app. for all of my questions. There was no line behind us. I also think there should be at least one more lifeguard on the pool with basketball hoops. There was a girl who couldn't swim doing the obstacle course and she fell in the water and her friend had to go get the lifeguard who was near the other side of the pool.
We visited with friends in January and lived it so much we went back a month later with some of our kids and grandkids. Rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable. Lots of things for the kids. My friends had issues with charges being correct. The same happened to us, that was our only issue. Billing is very weird. One of the supervisors even said billing is hard to understand. We would definitely go back though. Love that they have something throughout the day in the main room of the hotel... movies, dances, crafts... A couple of kids areas in the water park.
We had a fantastic 'staycation' experience at the Great Wolf Lodge Northern California! The rooms were spacious, clean, and the 'Kid Cabin' theme was a huge hit with our little ones. Everything we needed was under one roof, from the indoor water park to the arcade and dining options. We appreciated the convenience of an on-site Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast and the option to bring our own snacks (microwaves are in common areas on each floor). The check-in was smooth, and we were able to enjoy the water park for two full days with our one-night stay. A great value for the amount of fun we had!
Such an amazing experience. So expensive, but worth the memories. MagiQuest and the water slides were great. They had food, a lot to choose from, but they should provide more gluten and dairy free options and label the buffet food better with allergens. If I am going to spend $30 at a buffet, I should be able to actually eat the food there.
kids play all day in one location, water park, clean nice hotel. We had a maintenance staffer named Juan who came to fix our tv who really made all the difference m. He was just so nice and good with the kids, so kind. He made them really happy.
Many things to do with kids with different passes. We really liked the water slide as they varied in size. There was a candy shop with various types of candy. The room we was comfortable and homey. Overall I'd say this was a wonderful place to go to.
It is very beautiful place and safe, kids can go and play while you can relaxing and enjoy your time All games places are in same place, so you know where are kids without running after them specially if they are above 10 off course. They have water park, mirror maze, bowling, mini golf and high ropes Staff are very nice and friendly, and cooperative. Food options are a lot so everyone can find something. They have lazy river and big water slides, teenagers will love it.
It is a great weekend getaway. I had the wolf suit with queen, 2 bunk bed and one small bed for 5 the kids and we as adults had lots of fun at the pool. Good food and a bar inside the pool area. And you can also bring your own food in the room but not at the pool. Friendly service and fast.
Since they opened we have been here 2-3x a year. Way more than we should be allowing our credit card to swipe. Hahaa but its what makes the kid happy so its what the kid gets. The rooms are always immaculately cleaned. All the free lobby events are very thoughtful and if they aren't running the water slides then we are joining in on the fun on the rug. Food is good. Breakfast is a must! Its more of a brunch option take & has a wide variety. Suggestion for those who use the communal ice machine ask to be in that hallway as each floor only has 1 & its quite a walk from the opposite hallway. Staff is always friendly and very prompt with any requests or issues they respond immediately.
First time going on 10/23/2025 for my kiddos birthday! Stacy when checking in was so helpful and loving! Of course, we love a positive energy experience thank you again! 😊 overall, the room was very nice and clean! Loved all the activities that were included while being there. My son loved it. Definitely will go back!
This is our second time at Great Wolf and so far these two times my kids have enjoyed it! Our first time was during June and I found a great deal for two nights and recently during Fall Break I found the same great deal and decided to do it! Parking was $19 each night for us and no Valet here! I love that the kids can enjoy the waterpark the day off your reservation and the last day of your stay, so for us it was Wednesday, Thursday and Friday was our checkout but we stayed until about 3pm and went home. So at least you can enjoy everything inside while you wait for your room if you get there early. The park might not be for everyone if you're scared of germs or illnesses lol because remember everyone and everything is touched and obviously little kids can't hold they're little bladders so your eyes will start hurting when the chlorine is super activated! The pool outside is nice during summer and I love that everything is under 4ft since for me I can't swim and my little ones are learning how to swim and of course there is life jackets available on a first come but so far I've seen life jackets available throughout the whole day. Rooms have been clean and enough of everything else in there. No microwave but there is a microwave available with the ice machine. Overall we enjoy it as a family and as long as there's good deals we'll keep coming. No need to drive an hour away or more for fun and there's plenty of food around especially Costco right next door!!!
This was such a fun vacation! You don't ever have to leave this hotel. It had so much to do for the whole family. The waterpark is exhilarating and a family together fun day!! They have a wide selection of restaurants which we devoured up! Swimming always makes us hungry. They have a fun ropes course, miniature golf course and the activities they provide in the main lobby were so amazing!! The kids loved the fun bunk beds in their own little cave room. I want to go again soon!! The staff were so kind and helpful and that always makes your stay nicer! The only hard part was check in. It was just the fact the line was so long and the kids were so excited to be there. We were checking in on a Friday night so take that into consideration.
Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca, California is a great option for a family getaway, especially during the winter months when you want something fun and weatherproof. We’ve visited twice about two years apart, and overall it’s been a solid experience. The indoor water park is definitely the biggest attraction and a huge hit with kids. It has a wave pool, a lazy river loop, toddler and youth splash areas with slides, and a wide variety of slides for older kids and adults. One thing worth noting is that one of the orange tube slides designed for the five person rafts has had a feature disabled for years. It looks like it was meant to spray water and potentially spin the raft around, which would have added a lot of fun, but it’s currently blocked and you just pass right by it. Not sure why it’s been disabled, but it feels like a missed opportunity. The ropes course is probably the second biggest hit, with two levels to challenge different ages and skill levels. On the flip side, the arcade and Oliver’s Mining Maze felt pretty underwhelming and could really use an update or redesign to make better use of the space. Food wise, the fast casual dining options are decent and convenient, but the breakfast buffet at Campfire Kitchen could use some improvement. Food quality was just okay, and it was difficult to find seating during busy times. The hotel rooms are very nice, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Even with visits two years apart, everything still looked to be in good condition, which we appreciated. Overall, there’s definitely room for improvement in a few areas, but the water park, ropes course, and well-kept rooms make this a place we would return to again.
So much fun for the kids. Taking off a star because they need better ventilation in the water park area, it was a bit rough on the eyes and lungs for some of us. But overall it was all very clean and fun. Will definitely bring the kids back when it’s summer and they have the doors and outdoor pool open.
Great place for the kids . Had a lot of fun, stayed 1 night. Rooms a little dusty but over all was clean. Arcade is over priced for what they have. The breakfast buffet was good. Food at buckets needs a little work. Water park was great some squirt cannons don't work but the slide were the best part. Staff was nice and helpful. Thanks you
The rooms were nice, all hotel staff were super friendly an helpful. Super kid friendly. We enjoyed the stay and overall we would come back. 2 nights was the perfect time. The water park was a blast, the lines weren't too long. On a side note, the wave pool was down for a couple of hours because someone didn't want to get out to use the restroom so they shared their Doo Doo while in the pool. Eventually it was cleaned out. Side note # 2, 4 out of 10 lifeguards don't know the correct ratio of compressions to breaths (30:2) this is their entire job! Come on! Some lifeguards dont want to get wet mad when accidentally splashed when having fun with your kids.
Kids absolutely LOVE it, and that's all that matters. The water park is lots of fun, the temperature is perfect, and the staff do a remarkable job keeping things clean given the crowds. Once the kids are done splashing, there's tons of other activities. Every staff member we met was friendly and had the patience of a saint. Rooms are functional and food is not great, but the kids aren't gonna care.
So my kids love this place, but it’s sort of a nightmare to navigate. Their booking and check in systems are laborious. It takes us nearly an hour to check every time we come, they charge $20 a day for parking even though this lodge is in the middle Of fields, far from a major urban center and right by a highway. It’s also always packed. They sell day passes so you could be competing for space with people who are not staying at the hotel. To make conditions more noisy and tight, they close the outdoor pool on weekdays no matter the weather. This all becomes problematic for me when navigating the wade pool or lazy river, because my kids are too big for mom to be stuck to them, but it’s too crowded for me to keep an a safe eye on them. Suffice to say this may be our last visit.
It was good … not great as I thought … no hot tub for adults or children.. no washer or dryer as your forced to wear wet clothes next or so on !!! No microwave only by the vending machines where you have to walk almost a block if your on the other side of the… good thing they have an arcade 24/7 … bowling alley .. Dunkin’ donuts. Pizza shop. Gift stores daily family activities for the whole family… it’s reasonable priced.. but be careful of overcharges and also they charge per person by room !!! In which I’m disputing… not happy at all
The kids had fun and overall it was a good overnight trip. Grandma even enjoyed it. We will go again. Yet, with some minor adjustments, GW could do better. The room was great. Clean with comfy Beds. The all in one shampoo/conditioner is a typical clue of a motel 6 and cost cutting. It’s horrible stuff bring your own. The water park pools are very crowded, but still a lot of fun. Expect noise. Don’t expect a resort atmosphere. This is a family with little kids paradise. Go with that in mind and you will have fun The nicer restaurant is ok. The food was good. Not expected to be extraordinary, but tasty and nicely presented . There are burgers or salads at around a usual $18. Steaks at $40 We get donuts and coffee in the am to add to the super sugar high day. The good thing is that you can bring your own sandwiches, snacks etc ito the hotel to save cost The bathrooms in the pool area are a problem. They are super gross. Wet toilet paper and strands of hair on the floor, empty toilet paper, over full trash cans. Glad I had water shoes on as the floor is wet everywhere. Seems a fungus world The pool lounge area was disappointing. There was left over, half eaten dishes and trays of food. The same dishes and trays left at lunch were still there in the evening. There are pieces of trash about the water park area ground. The weird part is unlike any other amusement park, you don’t see anyone cleaning up… ever. Check out is 11 am. The pools open at 10 am. Seems rather cheap for the grand GW imagine The indoor Lockers don’t fit “luggage” and they are $25 bucks for the day Either put out another 40 bucks for a late check out (a gotcha) or put luggage in your car (40 some cars were recently broke into there in one night). Perhaps they have upgraded their parking lot security you already pay for A noon check out, with a park opening at 9:30 would provide families a great benefit The morning line to enter the pools at 10 am was extremely long, being backed up to almost the hotel entrance area. The friendly staff apologizes as they struggle to read the coded wrist band with their hand readers for entry. For the amount of people and lines, at least two towel areas are needed. The staff is mostly young and are extremely friendly and helpful. The lifeguards are on top of things and very watchful. The kids had a great time and the adults found places to hang out. It was a good day. Yet, it seemed like a few cheap corners are taken to make GW all that it could be
Don't get me wrong. Great Wolf Lodge is excellent if you have kids, Clean, Family Friendly great experience for families. Definitely not happy about illegal drip charges like charging for parking and not including that in the price. Which is a total violation of state law. SB375 hidden charges it should have been included in the the rate. Skip Bucket might be the wor
Rooms are nice and cute but the volume is unacceptable. You can hear every door slam, every person, kids causing noise in hallway with no one to stop them. So don’t plan to sleep well. Two of the slides were down because they don’t have enough staff to monitor. Food is average and pricey, so bring your own. Especially alcohol. Kids love it so all and all it serves its purposes
The rooms are very nice and comfortable but the hot water doesn’t get very hot. All the staff we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. A few issues though…They let in way too many people for the size of the water park. You ever seen cattle being herded? That’s exactly what the lazy river is like. With life guards actually herding you. Asking you to not stop and to keep moving. For whatever reason the 20oz cups at Great Wolf are the same size as 16oz cups at other establishments. Waiting for a breakfast sandwich at a dunken doughnuts inside Great Wolf will take about 30 to 40 minutes (don’t forget to tip that 20+% though) Their unsweetened tea out of the beverage machine is sweetened (this could cause some issues with people who have food allergies or medical issues) It was just a little overwhelming. Maybe stay during the week.
Pretty small water park, but for the kids I’m sure it seems huge. There’s some activities that you’ll find available on their website as well. Overall experience was ok, however for check in they didn’t get our phone number right so we didn’t know our room was ready until we asked the front desk around 4pm because it had to be ready by then.. We also made dinner reservations and we gave them our phone number but never received a text message that our table was ready so we also had to walk up to the restaurant during the time of reservation to make sure we were able to still get seated. Granted, it was a busy Saturday but I cant imagine who else experiences or has experienced this as well.
Great Wolf Lodge is fun for toddlers, but it has a few drawbacks. The toddler splash areas are warm, shallow, and safe, which is a big plus, and the water park being indoors makes it weather-proof. Life jackets are readily available, and lifeguards are attentive. However, the lodge is very loud and crowded, which can be overwhelming for toddlers. The water park gets busy and limited areas for small children. Food options are limited and expensive, and healthy toddler-friendly choices are scarce. Rooms are kid-themed but basic, and hallways can be noisy at night. Overall, it’s best for a short stay (one night). Parents looking for a calmer, more relaxed toddler getaway may find it a bit overstimulating.
Great family get away. We have been to them all over the country. And this one is newer and clean. Lots of fun stuff to do. Not such a great show at night. Too long, too much taking, just let the kids dance and have fun. We were expecting a fun winter music/story time like the Michigan great wolf show. This one went on for hours and was way over the kid’s heads. I beg of you- please just let the kids see the fake snow, dance a bit, and go to bed earlier 😂
Im currently at the hotel, we got here yesterday 11/15 for my daughters birthday. When I made my reservation via phone, they guy told offered me a birthday package, including cake and pizza, the room was supposed to be 1 king bed and a bunk bed. We got here, there was no parking, I drove around to find one, I called the hotel to ask if ppl staying overnight have a designated parking? But no she said to go and park in Costco and walk to the hotel! Thats crazy. Anyway, we walking in, walked around, the place is nice, yes it is super busy.. I understand is the weekend. We finally got to the room and my surprise, no bunk beds, no problem I went downstairs to ask for the cake, they told me to pick up at the ice cream place, but apparently my package was 1 scoop of ice cream no cake and no pizza! I just bought a cake for $30 dollars and the lady didnt even want to sell it to me!. Later that night we when to eat at the restaurant, no one told me we needed a reservation, well I mande one for 8pm, it was 830 and no one notified me, I walked to the restaurant and and there was 2 more ppl waiting, the lady told me oh yeah, let me see... like seriously?.. the employees at the restaurant seemed frustrated, the ppl who was waiting said that no one told them about making reservation and she was waiting since 6pm, terrible service and communication, they should told us at the lobby when we are checking in. We finally got our table and we ordered food not bad but yes super pricey. Everything is super pricey. I don't think ill ever come back.
Arriving was easy, the kiosk made it very easy to check in. I was kinda lost after checking in..I wish there was someone at the kiosks answering questions or giving directions... when I got to the "suite ".. it had a coffee make we never figured out, a TV with hardly any channels, and honestly it just looked cheap. There was 5 of us but it said 6 could fit. I see why . The beds were uncomfortable. Next we went to Waterpark which I will say the kids enjoyed. Lines were fast and I liked that there were seats available everywhere. I didnt get any towels buy there was a towel service which was cool. There were 2 bars in there. It was probably the best park of the trip was the water park.. All the activities in there was definitely a disappointment..you had to schedule time doing those activities, nothing I mean nothing was free for kids. I wish they had even a playground for the kids to just chill and play that was free. But this hotel definitely just wants money. Overall I wouldn't stay at the hotel, I didn't see anything special that stuck out to me for the price I was paying. Next time ill probably get a hotel nearby and pay for the water passes instead if I was to go back. Save your money...
We stayed at the Great Wolfe Lodge and there weren’t any perks in doing so. You did not get early access to the water park. You wait in line like everyone else who visits. We arrived on a Monday afternoon and checked in through the kiosk. The kids got to go into the park upon arrival. But we could not find an area to put our things once inside. You can enter when you arrive but your room isn’t ready until later. So you either leave all your stuff in your car until then or carry them in and try to find a spot to put them while you wait for your room. Also you have to pay extra for all the activities in the hotel. Climbing, bowling, mining and miniature golf was an extra $149. for 4 people. That’s on top of the hotel stay and $20 a night for parking. There weren’t enough staff to assist and there is a fee for towels in the water park. As well as a locker rental, which we paid $15 for a small locker that only fit their shoes. Just an FYI your hotel stay only includes the entry to the water park nothing else. It’s great for a day trip but not worth the money to stay there.
You may want to rethink the strategy of gouging prices six times higher during holiday weeks. 600 bucks a night actually made us realize for a few more dollars we could go to Hawaii instead. We’ve been here a few times and it’s pretty fun. It can get pretty overcrowded because of the day passes. The food is OK but the service is always really slow. I did get food poisoning once from a sandwich at that little convenience store near the elevators. A lot of the activities in the main lobby you can skip if your kid is over five or six as it’s all geared for really small kids. Bigger kids would like the games and the climbing and the pool. Rooms are ok. It’s fun for the kids but the beds are uncomfortable, the TVs are small and again it’s clean but just feels like pretty basic Try to get a room near an elevator otherwise you’re walking for 8 minutes just to get to it Another weird thing that happened was some weird dramatic scenario of a guy getting locked out of his room by his girlfriend and have her to listen to those guys in the hallway yelling for hours him begging to get in, her refusing. Otherwise I’ve never really had any safety concerns. There’s some sketchy people but they like having fun too and end up just playing and splashing and not bothering anybody. Although we did experience some Karen annoying everybody in her vicinity. Was weird Finally the location. I guess strategically it’s an OK spot but it just seems so far from the city. Although most people from the city are traveling overseas or doing more refined activities over down home fun.
I’ve been here multiple times but this trip was just not it. This lady seemed very grouchy at her job and this waiter was trying too hard. After the waterpark I had respiratory issues where it hurt to breathe through my mouth, they put high levels of chlorine in those pools. The dukin donuts is so inconsistent, they didn’t even drizzle my donut, they just game be A hunk of bread and brownie mix inside. A good thing is the Watering Hole in the water park are good at making drinks and the rooms are clean. Other then that I’m pretty saddened
This location has decayed terribly over the last few years. They have skyrocketing prices for every square inch of the resort. They double charged us for 2 days of parking $20 each and refused to refund it. The rooms are FILTHY. They oversell and overbook admission and create an entirely overpacked park with no chairs, not enough life vests for kids, and the environment is too chaotic to have a good time. No enforcement on security, they had over 70 vehicle break-ins in one single night recently and still haven't established a security protocol for their parking areas, while of course charging and double charging for parking rates. The front doors become a pot smoking lounge at night for parents and even still in the presence of children coming and going. Unacceptable. The room we got was out of shampoo and body wash and took 2 hours to bring us more when requested. We have been here 3-4 times in the last 3-4 years and this place has lost us as customers, primarily due to the lack of management and operational performance, but the failure to refund us double charged parking was the cherry on top.
Parents, please be careful here. I hope management reads this because the way this situation was handled was extremely disappointing. We had a very upsetting experience at this water park. My 8-year-old son went to the locker room to change while I stayed nearby with our younger child. About 20 minutes later he came back crying and said that adults in the locker room had pushed and hit him. We immediately called security. They arrived quickly, but instead of focusing on a child who was clearly distressed, we felt like we were treated as the problem while they seemed friendly with the other family involved. We were asked to wait outside while security spoke with them for a long time. When the police arrived, we were not even interviewed first. In the end someone claimed my son had tried to cut in line, and the whole situation was dismissed. What upset me the most: no one even apologized to my child. For a place that promotes itself as family-friendly, this experience was extremely disappointing. Parents should think carefully before letting their children go anywhere here. If this property truly wants to be considered family-friendly, situations involving children should be handled with far more care and transparency. I hope management reviews how their security team deals with incidents like this in the future.
We stayed here once without issue. Everythingis wildly overpriced, but the rooms and experience is fun for the kids. The issue is, we recently came to enjoy the water park for the day. We paid by Groupon. We called the night before to confirm the reservation. We were told that we needed to put a credit card on file for “incidentals,” and that we would see a $1 charge that would later be removed. The agent confirmed that the Groupon covered the entirety of what we owed for the day passes. Instead, we were charged the full price for the day. We have called twice and been hung up on while in the middle of describing what happened. This is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. We were really hoping this would be a place we could take our family for years to come, but how could we ever be expected to return after being treated like this?
⭐️ 1-Star Review – Deeply Disappointing and Mishandled Experience We stayed at Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca, CA on December 22–23, 2025 with our two daughters (ages 8 and 4). What was supposed to be a fun family trip turned into a humiliating and upsetting experience that was handled poorly from start to finish. While in the wave pool, I was holding my 8-year-old daughter in the deep end (5 feet). She was wearing a very conservative rash-guard style bathing suit and had the correct wristband allowing her to be there. A lifeguard repeatedly blew her whistle at us from far away, in a very crowded and loud pool. When I finally realized it was directed at us, I learned the issue was that my daughter’s rash guard had ridden slightly above her belly button. Instead of calmly approaching us or discreetly addressing the situation, the lifeguard chose to loudly whistle and publicly signal me to pull my child’s shirt down in front of a large crowd. My daughter was extremely embarrassed and humiliated. This was our first day, only a few hours into the trip, and after this incident we left the water park and never returned. We immediately spoke with the Director of Aquatics, Ashley. She acknowledged that children my daughter’s age are sometimes seen without shirts at the park, and even agreed she had seen that herself. Despite this, the way this was handled caused real emotional distress to our child. The only compensation offered at the time was free passes for dry activities (mini golf and bowling), which were not suitable for our children—especially our younger child and our older child who has ADHD. We came specifically for the water park, not dry activities. Because of this experience, we left early on December 23 without using the water park again. On Christmas Eve, I called to file a formal complaint. After multiple calls and repeatedly retelling the story, I was eventually transferred to an Aquatics Manager named Marisa, who assured me she would be the last person I needed to speak with and explicitly promised a full reimbursement to my credit card. That reimbursement never happened. It has now been over two weeks. I have left Marisa four messages, none of which have been returned. I was promised resolution and instead was ignored. This is not just poor customer service—it is a broken promise. The most troubling part of this experience is not just the initial incident, but the complete failure of management to follow through afterward. Humiliating a child, discouraging a family from using the main attraction they paid for, and then failing to honor a promised refund is unacceptable. We will not be returning, and I strongly caution families—especially those with young children—to consider how situations are handled here when policies are applied inconsistently and without discretion.
🚫 0/10 – Worst Experience Ever (Do NOT Recommend) Great Wolf Lodge – Manteca, CA This was hands down one of the worst experiences of my life. I would never recommend Great Wolf Lodge to anyone, especially families with kids over the age of 7. There is absolutely nothing here that justifies the hype or the cost. First of all, everything is a money grab. If you’re not even staying at the hotel and just want to visit the waterpark or arcade, you still have to: • Pay for parking • Leave a deposit • Be forced to buy tickets online only Nothing is simple or convenient — everything feels intentionally set up to squeeze more money out of you. The activities are extremely limited and boring for older kids. My child was over it very quickly. The arcade is overpriced, the waterpark gets old fast, and there is nothing special that makes this place worth the cost. Overall, the experience was overcrowded, overpriced, and underwhelming. For what you pay, you could do something FAR better literally anywhere else. Save your money. Save your time. 0/10. ⸻ ⚠️ Shorter but Still Savage Version 0/10 – Would Never Come Back Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca is completely overrated and overpriced. I do not recommend this place for kids over 7 years old — there’s nothing here to keep them entertained. If you’re only coming for the waterpark or arcade, be prepared to pay for parking, leave a deposit, and be forced to buy tickets online. Everything costs extra and feels like a cash grab. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had, and I wouldn’t recommend it to any family. Not worth it at all. #GreatWolfLodge #Overpriced #NotWorthIt #FamilyTravelFail #SaveYourMoney
Bait-and-Switch December 9, 2025. I made a reservation online, for the 1st of January with a checkout on the 2nd. This was supposed to be a Christmas, and New Year’s gift to my family. We drove 3hr, we were looking to have an enjoyable time. Which ended in something so unexpected, emotionally upsetting, embarrassing with all mixed emotions. This was for a 1-night stay, with checking in on the 1st. The room had come with 4 water passes. I added a late check out, a discount for breakfast, and 4 wolf passes. My Total was $903.68. I paid a deposit of $777.86. I also, provided my work discount code, but it was not working. To confirm everything was in good standing, I called Wolf Lodge directly. Spoke to an Agent who told me everything was set. He confirmed the total, and that the add Ons were included to the total as well. I was advised to call back with the code to do adjustments for the discount. At the time the agent assured me that all I needed to pay at check was $125.82. I called back December 10th. I provided my code for discount adjustment. My new total was $822.88, again; all add Ons were included in total. The agent who assisted me gave me a new payment to be made at check in which was $45.02. I also asked, if there were any additional discount for children with Autism? He said that he was going to enter it in the notes, and that someone would answer that during check in. January 1st. During check in I was surprised, I was asked to pay an additional $600 almost $700, plus a $100 that was to be returned to me. I asked for a supervisor, or onsite manager for assistance. The lady who was taking care of us, went to talk to a manager to see what they could do for us. I found myself forced to ask for my reservation to be cancelled immediately. Young lady came back with 4 pool passes for the rest of the evening. No manager bothered to come out after my request to speak with a supervisor or manager. The pools close at 8pm, plus the whole point was to stay the night, and enjoy. I asked to cancel my stay and to just give me the wolf passes. I was told that once my reservation was cancelled, the passes would be cancelled as well. She went back to speak with management, came back and again no manager. She got us 4 more free pool passes for the rest of the day on the following day, plus the one we originally got for the rest of the evening. We did stay for a few hours on the 1st but did not bother to return the following day. I was told that a manager would call me. Just imagine explain this to your kids and telling them we have to go back home tonight!? Monday January 5th, I called and called to get ahold of someone. Spoke to Rosie, who was able to help me to refund my deposit immediately. I was also, offered complimentary one-night stay that we still have to figure out when to go. I was told that I would receive an email within 72hrs in regard to it. Today is January 11. I have received nothing. Overall, this was my worst experience ever here. We had been there before and never ever encountered this problem.
I visited Great Wolf Lodge because my niece and nephew wanted to have their party there, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment and a total waste of money. I actually ended up spending more here than I did taking my son to Disneyland and the experience didn’t come close. Everything is overpriced. The arcade had a decent selection of games, but even after hitting two jackpots, my son didn’t have enough tickets to redeem a single decent prize. We spent around $40 and ended up with a handful of cheap trinkets you’d normally find in a grocery store quarter machine. Our room wasn’t much better the TV remote didn’t work, so we were stuck watching the news anytime we wanted something on. The next morning, my feet were extremely itchy, and I realized I’d been bitten multiple times by something during our stay. The water park was overcrowded, even on a weekday, and the staff seemed inattentive some even came across as rude. The lazy river barely had any floats available, and the attendant there just kept blowing a whistle for no clear reason while ignoring people who were being rude or causing chaos. Overall, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. I wouldn’t recommend spending your money here.
