Learned about Nana's through a Facebook group. Family was on a little vacation down in Tuscon so we decided to stop by. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly, everyone was super nice. We had the quesobirria tacos and the chicken tacos. Everything was excellent, even the kids meal! Also highly reccomend if your a fan of whiskey or tequila, great pours at a reasonable price, first time trying Stagg and Fortaleza. Next time I travel down south, ill stop in for sure. Thanks again!
We had an awesome time today around 3pm eating an early dinner. We saw that the restaurant made their own tequila and the owners son gave us the full run down about the process. We had a great selection of food and had a tequila tasting as well. Had a great time. Clean restaurant and restroom with a creative atmosphere
Wow, Nana was literally cooking in the back while her son hosted and daughter took our order! Absolutely authentic and delicious! Don't let the strip mall fool you. Desert was awesome too.
Its rare we find a Mexican restaurant on the nw side of town that has hot salsa that actually has kick and makes you sweat. But Nanas does! We had a tostada and Enchilada meal and all were excellent. Service was quick and attentive. The decor is authentic and we loved the large christmas tree. Will definitely be back.
Best Mexican food I've had in 11 years here in Tucson. Meet Nana and she was very personable. They make everything from scratch and you can taste it. Well worth the drive across town.

Great family and staff, delicious food, and amazing selection of single barrel store pick whiskey! This is my favorite place to go when I want to get food and a pour of whiskey together. Best Mexican food in the Tucson area!
Got their birria tacos. They were yummy. Probably one of the only places I will eat these out as I always want them authentic & can make them well at home Margaritas are good! Will definitely visit again
Best margarita I have ever had! I ordered a basic strawberry, and he encouraged me to get a mango candy one instead and it was incredible. It is clear he uses high quality ingredients. We live in IN but visit my sister in AZ, and he knows my dad’s name who comes a couple times a year. Great customer service!
The Food is Divine !! After searching for a Delicious Chimichanga across town, Not one compares to Nanas. You can taste the care and passion they put in their food in each Savory bite. I placed my order over the phone, Red Chile Chimichanga Enchilada Style Hot not mild, the wait was 30 mins but you can't rush Exceptional food. I knew i wouldn't be disappointed after all. Thank you Nanas, it Hits the spot every time.
Amazing, when is the last time you sat down to eat and the owner comes out to greet you? It's time to go to Nana's. Great food, great service, right price. This place is a hidden gem, I will be back for sure. Ohhhhhh the margaritas are the best I've had outside of Texas.
This place is hopping with an excellent atmosphere albeit somewhat on the loud side. It didn't take long to get seated and we got service right away. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately the wait was rather on the long side. But how was the food? It was worth the wait! I had the albondigas and they were seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of cilantro. In a word,, they were just like the way my nana made them. The chimichangas we're Made with authentic ingredients and were very like the ones my family made. The tortilla soup was just right. Just the right amount of lime. Sabrosa! 5 stars for the food 4 stars for the service due to the long wait 4 for atmosphere because in spite of being loud the atmosphere was upbeat and friendly. You need to try Nana's and if you're lucky, Nana herself may stop by and greet you in person.
LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH!!! We have eaten here several times and every time are very pleased! The chips and salsa to begin are very yummy and then the food is delish! I always get a chimichanga and eat every bite! The place is very nicely decorated with a very cool mural. They also have a couple sodas in old glass bottles which was very cool. Last year we had them cater our food and they were very accommodating and extremely kind by driving down to also deliver our food. They had warmers and everything! The whole family was very kind and can’t wait to keep going! One of my favorite Mexican restaurants here in Tucson!

I'll be honest never heard of this place. Went to the tucson margarita championship and I took one sip of their passion fruit margarita and I knew instantly it was winner. I had to bring hubs to try this drink and to try the menu and it didn't disappoint. We'll worth the 30 minute drive!!!
Went to pick up takeout, got treated to a full blown rock concert! The live music was pretty great with a crowd of folks really getting into it. Pretty loud, so maybe not for the person looking for a quite night with their tacos (at least on Saturdays). Food tasted great!
This is a place that was a wonderful find for us! The chips, guacamole and salsa were great. In fact the salsa was excellent! Our food was spot on and our drinks were also good. After dinner we talked to Marco at the bar and discovered his knowledge of bourbon was excellent!! They also have a wonderful selection of bourbon available here. The knowledge and friendliness of Marco is 2nd to none!! Cheers! We will be back!!
You need to eat here. Not only is the service friendly and amazing, but the raspberry margaritas and food are on point. The refried beans and salsa made a particularly good impression as well! I don't normally like many vegetables and my zucchini vegetable mix was delicious. Oh and definitely make sure to try their flan! We had vanilla and almond amaretto... So smooth and flavorful. The vanilla got the vote for best tonight! Next time we are back in Tuscan area we will be here! Nothing on any of our plates was bad. Thank you!!! I can't say enough about this restaurant.
I had chix fajitas. Tasty chix, grilled peppers & onions, but I was expecting some guac, sour cream, and lettuce. Wife's enchilada was too spicy, but they brought her some sour cream and that made it better. Free chips and salsa but the chips were stale.
Overall very good experiences with exceptional service and equitable value. Quality consistency with food and bar drinks have been very good as well. I recommend trying it a couple of times if you’re local to gauge for yourself; it’s worth your time! Parking can be challenging in this plaza around dinner time; getting there before the dinner rush is a good plan. Oh, and the fish tacos are absolutely delectable, and the flan worth making room for.
I've been wanting to experience this place for several years now, and I probably won't go back. It wasn't that it was horrible or even bad. However , from the beginning, it was not very welcoming. It was not busy at all which made that part a turn off. The server wasn't pleasant but she was not rude. No smiles to greet you at your table. There was a small misshap with our plates. My husband don't like sour cream, I do. Mine didn't have sour cream, his did. Not that big a deal but still should have payed attention as I had repeated that I did want it on mine. Both of us had rather large chunks of fat in our food. The rice here is absolutely delicious as well as the beans. The hot salsa was equally great. The Carne asada chimmi's weren't anything I can brag about. The place was clean and were prompt to clean table when customers left. The owner, I assumed he was, came to get our check and he was very pleasant and personable. Again, not a bad place and I'm sure I'd have a better review if we were greeted and the server was pleasant.
To Go Order. No utensils, no chips, no salsa, not much flavor. Food was good quality and cooked well, but very little spices. Like some Chinese sauce and fajitas could have been good Chinese food. No doubt dine-in is better. Seems like a good place but to-go diners beware and check and contest your delivery.
We went to this place since nearby restaurant are so crowded during the holiday season. I order meatballs soup and when ready realized it only has 3 small meatballs in the soup entirely and charged as a full meal $14.99. I have never seen this low quantity in other Mexican Restaurants, feeling been cheated.
I never complain or write reviews but I just got takeout here and it was the smallest portions I’ve ever seen from any Mexican restaurant, ever. I ordered Enchiladas Banderas (cheese only) and they had almost no cheese inside or on top. Very little sauce, this might as well have been dry cheese crisps, rolled up. The rice was good, but the beans were maybe 6 bites worth, not kidding. This might pass for a kids meal, but I paid $25 for this with a side of brown guacamole so thinned out it doesn’t even taste like avocado. This was my payday “treat” for myself. :( I’m so bummed because I loved this place. I’m going to have to make myself a whole other meal for dinner because this was ridiculously tiny, and I’m a tiny girl. I cannot imagine a grown man being happy with this for a meal. Lame waste of money.
Milanesa is super dry . No real flavor. The waitress where sitting at the corner table on their phones. I got milanesa with Mexican rice and a bed of French fries, come on you couldn't do beans dam thing is $25 already at least some beans to dip this dry meat. O yeah no aguas frescas, just unsweetened tea and lemon aid. Too expensive, low quality food and super bad service.oo yeah and the prices online (website) dont match the menu. I spent $32.46 and left $40 on the table . Going to the taco shop next time this sucks.
Food was very overpriced for what it was. Margaritas were extremely sweet and we couldn’t taste the alcohol in it. And when the margarita arrived there was a glob of sugar at the bottom of the glass. Fundido became an a big glob after a few minutes. Fajitas didn’t come with any guacamole, cheese, pico, etc. The bacon wrapped shrimp wasn’t bad, but $25 for a few shrimp is a bit much. Went around 3:00pm during the week. Wasn’t busy at all. Waitress didn’t check on us once after our food was brought to us. Didn’t ask if we needed anymore drinks. Definitely will not visit this place again. Pretty disappointed.
