BE-LLI-SSI-MO!!! Proprietari super simpatici. Cristo (il tizio bulgaro) è il comandante. Ogni volta che ci andiamo ci offre uno shottino di soju buonissimo. Il cibo è spaziale, vi consiglio di prendere tutto perché tutto è buono. La tizia coreana, ovvero moglie di Cristo, è stra carina. Nel locale ho scoperto musica davvero bella, tra cui cantante Kim Suyoung, ve la consiglio). I due proprietari hanno un figlio davvero carino e insieme mi danno cozy vibes bello bello bello. Eh niente, ve lo consiglio!

Due persone che ci tengono a fare le cose per bene, cibo coreano veramente straordinario. Da provare! Il pollo fritto è semplicemente spaziale.

Ambiente accogliente e rilassante, servizio impagabile con al centro la cordialità e la cura al cliente. Ho chiesto una leggera variazione di un piatto (aggiunta di salsa Gochujang allo Striscia Burger) e non solo me l'hanno aggiunta subito (nonostante non fosse prevista nel menù) ma non me l'hanno manco fatta pagare. Infine il cibo, perlopiù a base di pollo fritto coreano, è buonissimo, croccante, saporito e ben speziato. Consiglio assolutamente di passare qui per un pranzo o una cena sostanziosa ad un prezzo ragionevole e soprattutto buonissima. Davvero ha superato tutte le mie aspettative, complimenti ai titolari😊

Tutto buono. Cibo ottimo cucinato al momento con materie prime di qualità e che restituisce davvero quei sapori tipicamente asiatici (non lo dico solo io). Il personale è molto cordiale e amichevole e quando dico molto intendo MOLTO, sembra di cenare a casa di amici o dagli zii. L'ambiente può trarre in inganno, specialmente se ci si limita a una fugace occhiata di passaggio. Il locale è piccolo e con pochi tavoli, ma è molto tranquillo e restituisce quella sensazione di familiarità, di un posto dove incontri sempre le stesse facce. Mi rendo conto che questo potrebbe non piacere a chi cerca il ristorante spazioso, con molto personale a servire ai tavoli, ma io questi posticini accoglienti e senza troppi fronzoli li adoro, quindi 5 stelle su tutta la linea.

We ate there last night as a family of 4. We ordered the sweet & spicy chicken strips (AMAZING), the Kimbap (SO Good), the tteokbokkie (would probably be even better with the ramen 😍 but still so good), and a Korean corn dog! Everything was so amazing! Easily one of the best meals I’ve had since moving to Napoli! The owners are just amazingly kind people! His wife is native Korean and cooks everything from scratch, so be patient it’s so worth it! Her husband and son Cristo are so friendly and kind! They spent time playing with my kids and treating us like family! We are definitely going back before we go back to Napoli!

I did not expect to find a Korean restaurant in Matera. Out of curiosity, I searched for Korean cuisine and was pleasantly surprised when CHI MAC appeared. We decided to visit, intrigued by the unexpected discovery. As a Korean, I found the kimchi stew particularly satisfying—especially comforting in the cold weather. The chicken rice was exceptional, even when compared with similar dishes in Korea. The fried chicken was remarkably crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the combination of chicken, rice, soy sauce, and eggs was perfectly balanced. Unfortunately, we did not take any photographs, as we became completely absorbed in enjoying the food. I would also like to place special emphasis on the extraordinary kindness of the owner. Their warm hospitality and attentive service left a lasting impression on us, and we were genuinely touched by their generosity.

In Matera, after growing tired of Italian food, our stomachs were completely cured by this hidden gem Korean restaurant, CHI MAC. We ordered the beef and chicken，both were tender and cooked with perfect seasoning and mastery of heat. The flavors were authentically spot-on. What truly stood out was the owner's exceptional service. When we returned for the second day, he not only remembered us but, as we were packing our leftovers, thoughtfully asked, "Would you like some rice to go with that?" This kind of considerate care made the experience feel genuinely warm. From a chance discovery to a deliberate return visit, CHI MAC provided the perfect ending to our journey with its delicious food and heartfelt hospitality. Super cozy family owned restaurant, usually full, but we managed to get a seat. We liked everything we ordered and came back twice in our week stay. Very kind owners. Would definitely recommend this place and especially the kimbap.

We were craving for asian food in Matera and were very happy to discover an authentic Korean restaurant near our stay. The kimchi jiggae and beef bulgogi served with rice filled our tummy! Wife and I were touring Italy with her parents and were hankering for some good Korean food! Chi Mac Matera did not disappoint! The food was fantastic and moved like an A.I. guide missile to hit the spot! We had almost everything on the menu: Fried chicken (great crunch!), kimbap (loaded with fillings), ramen (because we needed that broth), Tteok bokki (because Korean rice cakes is life), Jeyook (needed some meat with heat) and washed this all down with some Peroni on tap! Service is great, food is greater, would highly recommend if you find yourself in a Matera Sasso with a craving for some Seoul food!

Authentic and tantalizing Korean food. The Jap Chae and Ge Yuk that we had were delicious! The ttelokbokki was refreshing too. Chae Yong and Cristo were fantastic hosts who also chatted with us and recommended good eating place around the neighbourhood.

I ran into an advertisement at the bus stop in Matera and decided to visit this Korean restaurant on my way back to Bari. The food was very tasty and original since the chef is a Korean. While waiting for the bus to Bari airport, I stopped by and ordered Jeyuk (spicy stir-fried pork) and Ddeokbokki (rice and fish cake). It was the taste of home that I missed for a while. I highly recommend people who are interested in Korean food and culture to visit this place. *I visited this place around 4pm. The opening hour may not be 6:30pm. It will be open earlier than that. *There are also tables outside. People can enjoy the beer with fried chicken during the dinner. 사장님, 사모님 만나뵈서 정말로 반가웠어요. 건강하시고 하시는 일 잘 되시길 바래요!

Definitely a hidden gem in Matera! I was looking for Asian food badly after traveling three-week of traveling in Italy. It is a place if you are tired of pasta and pizza. Very genuine Korean Food! The Chef and his wife are very welcoming. The location is closed to the historic center, you could easily walk there. Highly recommend any long-term travelers who stay in Matera and want a different flavor to go there! To the chef and his wife: thank you for the good food and warm welcome. We enjoyed spending the night of Valentine’s day in your restaurant. We are the couple who travel from Canada to Hong Kong without using airplanes :) hope to visit you again!

Their generosity and kindness truly touched me 💕 The real cherry on top was the food. It tasted exactly like home-cooked Korean cuisine, i would love to visit in return. Beyond the amazing foods, the couple has genuine hospitality made my experience truly special and exceptional. They made me feel so home, their company was a very jolly time. Amazing! I liked it so much that I came here 3 days in a row! First I got the fried chicken with the sweet & spicy sauce, it was perfectly fried and I loved the sauce. I also had the Japchae which was a tasty stir fry of noodles, vegetables, and beef. And the Tteokbokki came in a yummy spicy sauce and I loved the texture of the rice cakes with the fish cakes. Everything was really so delicious. The service is also great, it's a family-run business and both owners are very friendly and welcoming. The woman is Korean and the man is Bulgarian. I'm glad they brought authentic Korean food to this town 😁

Korean street food in Matera! One of the best Korean food in Puglia region. The taste is so great that you will forget you’re in Italy. We ordered Korean fried chicken and tteokbokki which were amazingly tasty with a reasonable price. Owner is a couple that the wife is from Seoul, which means the guarantee 😋

Sono stata in questo ristorante di cucina coreana fast food. Il cibo non è male, abbastanza buono per una pausa veloce. La cuoca è molto gentile e carina, ma purtroppo il servizio è piuttosto lento. Quello che però mi ha davvero lasciato un’impressione negativa è stata la scena di un uomo – che sembrava essere il marito della cuoca – visibilmente ubriaco e che urlava per strada davanti al locale. Mi sono sentita molto a disagio per questa situazione e sinceramente non credo che ci tornerò. Peccato, perché il posto avrebbe del potenziale.

Appena arrivati nel locale abbiamo sentito il cuoco inveirci contro e dire alla moglie di dirci di tornare il giorno dopo, così siamo stati praticamente cacciati perché a quanto pare la cucina stava chiudendo (erano le 21). Non è la prima volta che assistiamo a scene del genere e abbiamo comunque deciso di tornare, a quanto pare non lo faremo più
