Uf you love stopping in these old Finger Lakes taverns, and enjoy a good pint, local music and pub food with a twist, definitely check out the Cottage Hotel. Hilary and her staff are great!

Came to see Keith Baker and his wife Marlene. Keith was playing and singing with Jeff Clark and Paul and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Had a drink and enjoyed that too. Would have had dinner also but I was coming from a Celebration of Life for a departed friend and they had refreshments afterwards. After attending that it was time to enjoy good music and friendship and the Cottage Hotel did not disappoint.

This place is great! It combines a friendly atmosphere, great bar food, good local beer choices, outdoor seating with I nice veiw, and a small arcade for the kids. One of the best local bars in the South-of-Rochester area.

Why is the Cottage 5 stars? It's not an uppity eatery or dining location and it's not some craft cocktail bar (although they do a great job with the cocktails). It's just the perfect small town meeting place located at the main intersection. The best times are had during the warmer months when you can sit on the sidewalk and watch the number of people who flow through that intersection. The staff are always friendly, it's always appropriately busy, and there's no air of pretentiousness like you might get at some places. The dynamics of Mendon are such that you can get a wealthy doctor and a hard-working farmer sitting at a bar sharing a drink and no one would know the difference at the Cottage.

Pulled pork was amazing. Everything I could have hoped for. Portions felt large for what chain restaurants would have charged you. Fries...delightful... Will absolutely come again, one of my new favorite places!

We enjoyed an awesome evening of fun dressed up in Halloween Costumes, and listening to live music while enjoying one of the best Salmon Fish Special's they've ever had on the menu! Their chef is creative, and talented, and their staff is amazingly kind, and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this spot for family outings, and great casual american flare with an emphasis on locally sourced products.

Food was amazing. Really enjoyed the "slayer". I would of expected to pay 30% more in Buffalo for the same quality. Also, learned their pulled pork is made fresh everyother day and needs to be slow cooked overnight. Will stop again if I am around.

What a feast. I just picked up their family style enchiladas with rice. They were delicious, enough to feed four and an excellent value. I highly recommend The Cottage Hotel for takeout or delivery, just get these enchiladas:)

We had a delicious meal here. The gluten-free calamari was outstanding. Even better than the food was the incredible service. We called ahead and the person who answered the phone was very kind and inviting. Our two servers couldn’t have been more pleasant! An overall wonderful experience at this adorable restaurant that looks like it could’ve been out of a scene of a movie.

Wonderful local fair with great bands. I usually visit every month with my father for lunch. The specials are always great. Great place to hang with friends or family. Also fun listening to music. Highly recommended

We chanced upon this lovely place after a hike at Mendon park. The whole atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food especially the pork pull burger was delicious. There was an awesome space rock band playing various medleys from trippy King Crimson jazz jams to Steely Dan.

Was live music, dancing ,drinks and pool table in the 70’s. Now it is our go to for a casual meal and sometimes stay for the music. Outdoor area is nice when the weather allows. No pool now but still has a game room. Thanks

Stopped in on a whim and ended up having some of the best wings I've had in a long time. They were perfectly crispy, tons of meat, and the tiger sauce was amazing. Staff was friendly as well.

Wonderful place to sit outside and watch the traffic. Great, friendly service. Great prices. The live music inside is definitely another reason to sit outside. Their garbage plate is one of the best kept secrets in town.

Got into town around 10:30pm on a Sunday in late July. Unfamiliar with the area, I called to find most kitchens closed. The young woman on the phone at Cottage, honestly let me know the kitchen was closed except fried apps would be available. I walked in and the bartender, Michaela, greeted me with such warm hospitality. I got the food that I wanted with some suggestions from her. I had a really good time, great conversation with Michaela, felt welcomed and left full.

Dan makes a PERFECT lemon drop martini and their food is much better than you'd expect for a tiny local bar. Their chef comes up with some wonderful dishes. I love their fish fry!

Really cute little bar to get a beer and some food! The inside is very cute, but I love the outside area. I appreciate that they have some healthier options like the salmon salad. Salmon was slightly overcooked, but overall had amazing taste. Mac salad and wing sauce were really good. Service was excellent. Cute little spot!

This is an absolutely fantastic bar. I visited from Pittsburgh and I really enjoyed it. I'm not going to knock them stars for this, but Kodak Black was playing and then they cut it to play the live band. And I understand the live band needs to play but I don't think they understand how hard the Kodak Black song was going.

It's a casual kind of country bar. The owners are nice and allowed friend's to grab a pizza and bring it in after their kitchen closed. The acoustics aren't great but everyone has a story about something involving the place, "back in the day"

Great little dive bar, blue-collar and down to earth--much as you'd expect in this farming community. a few more paper decorations from beer companies than i might like, but the atmosphere was charming nonetheless. fun acoustic music on thursday nights. food is pub food, nothin great but it gets the job done. Still, for a fun place to grab a couple beers, cottage hotel hits the spot. We'll definitely be going back.

The food was great, but the service was very slow, the waitress never came back to refill our ice tea, and in this day, to only offer white sugar and Sweet and Low, really is behind the times. The Cottage was out of an appetizer that the five of us had come specifically to order, which was disappointing.

The bartenders are extremely friendly, the vintage video games are great, and the kitchen delivers some bad a** food! I had an order of wings mixed with 2 different sauces, garlic parm and hot. Wow! Kudos! The wings were perfectly cooked and had a delicious ratio from the hot/ garlic parm!!! The bartenders are always friendly and prompt! Sammy was my tender today and always goes out of her way to make sure you have a good experience! We also love Shuey on Sunday nights!

The Cottage Hotel was a nice place to stop after a round of golf to grab a quick bite to eat. The fish tacos were an excellent snack. The corn fritters were also great. It had been a while since i'd had that treat.

This place has phenomenal chicken wings. A true local staple of Mendon, with a very good food and a decent craft beer selection it's worth a visit. The food menu offers a large variety of options without feeling desperate. Nothing I've tried has left me disappointed. Service can be slow, but they are very friendly and helpful. The decor leans towards the rustic side, so if you're looking for a posh dining experience you might want to try somewhere else. The bar is fully stocked, and the tap selection offers something for almost anybody. The bar area is laid back and perfect to catch a happy hour and throw some darts. Bartenders are prompt and polite.

Nice comfortable atmosphere and good service. Chicken wings were small, no celery, and the homemade Bleu cheese was some sort of odd recipe. Regular Bleu cheese wasn't available.

Full house upon arrival and we were told the kitchen was backed up, but they could seat us and serve drinks. Once we ordered, the food came out fast and was delicious! Grilled peach arugula salad with salmon was TASTY! $21. Genny Kolsch $5 a pint. Bud light $3.50 to me that's fantastic! Better Days band was great! Favorite songs from 70's. The downside was it was a tad warm inside on an 86° day, but with my handheld fan I was very comfortable. And yes, there was a wait to order but not a problem since we were kept informed. Would definitely return.

Went here for Tuesday trivia night with friends and ordered the big Mac tacos. Food was all served cold and took a while. But in their defense they only had one waitress. Other than being cold it was ok. The biggest upset was the fact that the following morning I was very ill from the food. I'm hoping to participate in trivia night again soon but now I'm very nervous about trying their food again.

The food is good but inconsistent with its cooking. For example, if you ask for a medium rare burger, the burger may come medium or medium well. The quality of ingredients is American restaurant standard and nothing to rave about but is sufficient. The food is American bar and grill with a slight upscale presentation. The interior decor is local-dive bar-rustic. If you're just looking for a quick place where you can stop in and grab a bite while wearing workout clothes or jeans and a t-shirt then this is it. This place has seen a lot of traffic over the years, so don't expect polished and new looking facilities. This includes the restroom.

We went to the Cottage Hotel for the first time for Dinner on Saturday night. We probably won't be back. First, the good stuff. We all agreed that the entrees we ordered were good and what we expected and prices weren't especially high. However, the French Onion soup that we each ordered was delivered to our table lukewarm and wasn't as good when compared to other local pub restaurants. Also, service was a bit slow (even though the restaurant wasn't particularly full). And here's a first, I was charged a buck for a taste of a craft beer I wasn't familiar with. This has never happened in any other restaurant. Finally, I almost didn't get a beer refill until we reminded the server that it was waiting on the bar.

Live music is good. Usually a wait for a beer. And food takes a while. Friendly staff and patrons. Juke box music usually sucks. Very top 40. U have to spend $ to hear decent tunes.

We went for the Friday fish fry. Anne's fish was okay but it was served on parchment paper that laid on a cookie sheet. The parchment paper disintegrated with the moisture and stuck to the fish. It was hard not to eat it. The volume on the music was cranked up. Therefore, the voices of the guests were extra loud. We tried to have a conversation but gave up. I had lamb chops with an unbelievably wonderful bourbon and black cherry glaze sauce.

Good for drinks and not much else. My sandwich was dry, and the beer I got was borderline undrinkable. If they turned their kitchen around they’d print money. But it’s bland and extremely tired.

My boyfriend decided to come to your establishment for lunch today. He ordered a beer and chicken wrap w/fries. He's actually still there at the current moment, however last time I checked, a chicken wrap didn't take 45 minutes to cook, nor are they anything extravagant. The waitress has since come back to the table to ask if he would like another beer, and still no food! His lunch hour is almost over, and at this rate he'll be going back to work with no lunch! Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional to say the least!!!!

The ceasar salad was hot as the shrimp.barely any dressing or salad.then I asked for rare flank steak on top .i got it omg they flipped it.it was disgustingly raw.sent it back.place is dirty.never agai .the cooks are dirty too

We heard an advertisement, and based on the reviews, we drove out of our way to check the place out. We were so disappointed the floors are sticky, the tables are all old and sticky even the salt and pepper shakers are sticky. The bathroom is disgusting. If you don’t mind all of that, the food was decent and the service was fast.

Very disapointed. Not normally one to leave a bad review. Stopped in this afternoon for a quick lunch, there was nothing quick about it. There was 1 other table in the restaurant. We ordered a chicken sandwich, a cup of chili - which we never received - 2 guacamole bruchetta, and 1 fish taco. We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive luke warm, tacos were supposed to be on a corn tortilla and be gluten free as listed on the menu. They arrived on a flour tortilla. Service was friendly, timing and acuracy of order was awful. We will likely not be back.

Stopped for a quick drink and app. Wings fried to oblivion. Bartender and other employees playing with their hair behind the bar. Felt like I was in my daughters room not a bar. Didn’t order the wings crispy. Didn’t have time to wait for a fresh order

Have gone here for years. Tonight was a total shock. Total lack of service. Food was not the quality that it has always been. We were not told the specials. Took a long time to get first drink order. Server never brought second round of drinks until we were done eating. In middle of meal a different server asked us if we needed box while we were obviously still eating. Never asked if we were interested in desert. Seemed as though nobody was in charge or cared. Sad to see such a good place deliver such poor service

We were seated outside and a server approached quickly. She took both our drink and food orders. The drinks appeared shortly and were never refilled. However the food was served over an hour later. Never were we advised if the restaurant was understaffed or if there was another problem. The food was cold and the meat in our beef on weck sandwiches was of poor quality and badly cooked. We will not return.
