Great place. We love coming to eat here. They have so much seafood, like seriously so much! They have a sushi bar, a crepe station, a cotton candy station, a chow Mein bar where you can choose everything to your liking. Large space for many people. Great food and decent prices. They also offer to go.

Loved it! All food was excellent, fresh. They have home crepes, cooked while you wait with fresh fruit, whip cream and powdered sugar, and they even have cotton candy made while you watch! My 7 year old granddaughter described it as amazing!

Best food in my town. Nice waiters/waitresses, and affordable. I've eaten there for years and never gotten sick, so I'm sure all the food they prepare is all perfectly fine (and I've tried all the food they have to offer). I definately recommend dining there and seeing if you enjoy it. Only thing that needs some work on are the bathrooms. (The Hibachi Grill in Merced CA) Update: rip Hibachi was closed down

We went Christmas day and it was a lot of fun! Food was delicious. My only complaint, and this is even a stretch, was that the temp of the food could have been hotter. Some of my stuff was cold by the time I got to my table to eat. Aside from that it was fantastic and I'll be back soon.

A good blend of Chinese cuisine along with some American dishes (beef today) and Mexican delicacies (ceviche). All the food was very tasty, and the staff eager to please.

This is my favorite Chinese food place. But the only thing I could say bad about it is the orange chicken. It has not been edible for years. Even people that come with me to eat their adults and kids never liked it. It's like eating jerky that has not been reconstituted. Everything else is delicious and it will always be my favorite. I often just eat a little by the pound because it's only $8 a pound and who can eat a pound of food? Not me. All you can eat is $17 so really it's cheaper just to buy 2 lb

Haven't been here for a long time when it was still habachi grills. It's still pretty good. Love the pork buns. Sushi is better than most buffet. They got crepe and cotton candy too. 10/19/23 went there for lunch. Oh man, while fast food price is getting higher, this place is still the best bang for the buck. 2 kids 1 adults and only like $34 with one share soda drink. Nothing wrong with sharing one cup haha.

I've been to championship grip since they have opened. For the most part they have a great deal of food to choose from... the have days of the week that the food just sits they're all day and not switched out.. if you are lucky enough to make it on one of these days... ask for your money back and go so where else.... if you make it on the days that the food is being switched up.. YOU are on for a real treat... the food had lots of flavor and you really need to do small portions so that you can try everything...I love being able to go to the cook and choose the raw meat and veggies to be cooked... so yummy.. You can get cotton candy and Craig's from one station... so yummy They're is another station for sushi All in all great place of you make it on one of the days the food is switched out

I’m a food critic and I can honestly say that the food here is OK. I for one don’t like any cold Food especially if it’s supposed to be hot. Food gets cold pretty quick here. The buffet food was great. They make the best orange and spicy chicken I've eaten. The hibachi grill itself was worth going alone, however I got a thick piece of steak which was cooked pretty rare. Didn't like that. But everything else including the waitresses were top notch.

Only reason I'm giving four stars is because the bathrooms were filthy I feel that deserves immediate attention! "This is easily the best all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet in Merced County. It is absolutely worth the drive from Chowchilla, Madera, Atwater, Turlock, or Livingston—yes, it’s really that good. I’ve tried every single item on the menu and can confidently say the quality is top-tier. I highly suggest visiting during dinner time; the food is consistently fresh, and they rotate the entrees more frequently. The customer service was also remarkable. Even though I only ordered water, they kept my glass full the entire time. I must have gone through over 20 plates, and the staff cleared them away every few minutes without fail. The pricing is very fair at $63 for two adults and two kids. While prices aren't what they were back in 2008, it is still a great value for the quality you receive. Like many buffets at this price point much of the food is of low quality. 4 stars is for value. If you come at 3 you will pay lunch price and still enjoy most of the dinner optio ns. This is an Asian fusion all-you-can-eat buffet. Like most buffets, the quality rarely gets higher than mediocre and Champion Grill barely breaks that. It has steamed buns, egg rolls, dumplings, a choose-your-ingredients noodle stir fry, and a fairly large selection of fish and seafood, along with a lot of the standard buffet dishes. When you're in the mood for in this town this is where you come.

If you already know what you like from here then the to go box is the best option. I love having the salt and pepper shrimp, it's my favorite in town. Their wings hit the spot, and the sushi is nice too, along with their baked fish. They also have some options for picky eaters like pizza, fries, and nuggets. This place is very mid to low tier Chinese food, avoid their noodles and rice as they're very bland. Their orange chicken and spicy pork are usually extremely chewy, and sometimes the chicken on a stick is so chewy that it's like jerky. They have SOME good food items but it's not worth the price, just buy a box to go so you only pay for what you enjoy.

Well, all the stores and restaurants have begun adjusting their prices to make up for the ridiculous minimum wages that they have to pay now. $15.50 an hour for people that can't count back your change. We went for lunch and although the food was great with a wide variety, I think $27plus for two people is pretty steep.

Very affordable price for seafoods, sushi, chinese food and dessert. Their food is good very cheap for their price.

So they had crab legs but they were like fried dried up into the shell. Fish taste like rubber the shrimp song whatever they were felt like they were growing in your mouth. It just was not a good experience for me I was not able to understand anything anyone was saying so I was not able to get any assistance with anything. I've been here a few times. Dined in once and did take out twice but this will be my last time due to poor customer service! I was waiting to pay for my takeout and an elderly couple was right infront of me, taking longer than usual. That is fine, but the front lady and owner/manager both saw me waiting for a while and ignored me. They helped another person who purposely cut infront of me! That is what i get for being polite and giving space to the couple infront of me! So make sure to push everyone out the way when you're paying since they're incapable of keeping track of a short line! The food is decent with a wide varietyof selections. First impressions are everything, every single item I chose aside from rice was lukewarm or cold, orange chicken, potstickers and crab rangoons. I spit out my first bite and immediately asked for a refund because I’m not trying pay to get sick. I don’t care if this is due to an equipment malfunction or caused by inattentive employees, this can and will kill someone.

I want to share what happened to me in that place, I ordered a crepe and when I ate it had a taste of tobacco I thought it was because the grill is close until my husband told me that his dish had a cigarette smell and his crepe too.some friends advised me not to return to that place, because most had had bad experiences, for example a friend came to prepare her plate in the grill area and said that when she served mushrooms she noticed that there was hair and then He told the cook and he snatched the plate and did not even apologize, and the last anecdote that I remember hearing from a friend, is that the waiter was very rude, told him not to eat more crab because he was going to charge as if it was dinner. My advice is to avoid those kinds of places without hygiene where all people grab the ladles and you do not know if they have washed their hands, besides that place has very poor ratings from the Health Department.If they want to see a test someone on Yelp uploaded a picture of a cockroach on their food.

Came here for dinner with my boyfriend. We were eating our first plate and saw a cockroach. We obviously weren't expecting a free meal since we did eat a small amount of food and the manager first offered no discount, eventually he upped it to 20%. We didn't even get an apology. He really seemed like he didn't care and had no respect for his customers. He also walked away from us twice in mid conversation. The small discount is appreciated but seems like it is not enough for rude service and no apology. I have heard this place has cockroaches but I never knew it was true until now. They are never getting our service again.

Food tastes reheated and their sushi was not fresh (avocado was already dark and sushi was warm). Stopped here on the way back home from Yosemite. Not what i was expecting. Saw a line of people so as an out of towner fell for it . Food was cold,dry and hard. Staff only show you to your table the rest is up to you. Do not recommend.

The employees were great but the food wasn't. The food such as posta and grilled vegetables were drenched in oil that tasted days old. It took a while for the employees to put fresh food into the containers for us to enjoy. When it came to the crepes the line was extremely long it took me over 30m just to receive my dessert. The background of the cooking area was filled with dirty dishes as well as fruit flies . I paid $37 to come and enjoy the food but I strongly regret it. please take my comment into consideration and I hope no one goes threw the same experience

there are roaches everywhere, we always see them sweeping the bugs up but never killing them 🤢. we find bugs in our food and the manager (she wouldn’t tell us her name either, hiding it so we cant report) just dismiss and it told us it wasn’t a bug . there black mold in the kitchen , and also we found rats around the dining area and the ceiling!!! place is horrible, food has no flavor, always cold , or things are to hard to eat. always see people throwing up after they finish eating this food

Beware! This place is disgusting! Flies everywhere on the foods. Very unclean. My husband and I didn't want to eat once we saw how unclean everything was, but we had already paid almost $40. We decided to pick out a few of the food we thought looked safe to eat. That night, we both had diarrhea along with stomach pain all night. My husband couldn't go to work the next day and I had to come home from work. Keep yourself and your family safe and stay away from this place.

Something told me not to eat here. Different look inside and different people working there. Almost all the food i got on my plate was cold with not flavor the only thing that was steaming was the water underneath the food that is supposed to keep it warm. Not that many selections of food either. Its just as worse as the previous buffet that was there before. My girlfriend said the ice cream could be better it was bad she left the ice cream cone in the parking lot. She wanted to go to in and out but I said let's give this place a shot after the the advertisement on the radio last night we should of just went to in and out like she wanted too. We both like Chinese food and know what's good when we taste it but not here. I didn't like it at all both plates I got I didn't finish them and I don't leave food on my plate when go out to eat I try getting my money's worth. Everyone is different some may like it and some of us with real taste buds don't. It's up to you.

I had lunch there today the place is more roomier they cleaned it up. I didn't see any of the cooks wearing gloves the tables and chairs were cleaned with the same towel plates were not all clean food on the floor someone could slip and fall the dish washer put the silverware in with his hands and arranged them touching most of them with bare hands it didn't seem sanitary ,I can't really say that I enjoyed the food It ranged from cold to the battered fish being almost raw the hot wings were very under cooked I couldn't even eat them the other food was less than perfect but was eatable .The employees on break were loud and not respectful towards those around them I saw a couple get up and move to another table away from were the employees were eating, In closing Its my opinion There is a hell of alot of room for improvement.

The food is not good at all. The meat was overcooked and hard. The deserts are the best because they're bought pre- made. Even the ice cream and the pudding tasted funny.

Saw a cockroach crawling on one of the pillars. Food quality is terrible. *Some* of it is edible. I can't imagine anyone working there has any pride in the food. Buffets are notoriously hard to maintain quality and cleanliness, but I sure wouldn't recommend this one.

I did an online order, for a Grill Ribs $14.99. I came to set it for dinner. I saw more bones then meat. It was disappointing. Not worth $14.99.

This was the worst buffet I've ever been to. All the seats are torn up The food was extremely bland and old and salty.... All the meats were so tough and dried out and unable to chew from being so old.... All the fried dishes were swimming in oil... The "hot dishes" were all cold... The "fresh fruit" was from a can... Worst sushi I've ever had Barely made it to the car before food poisoning kicked in for all of us

Way too expensive. Payed 50.00 for TWO PEOPLE, food was awful. Could not even finish a plate or come to like anything there. Not many options, and they tried to charge extra for a to go box. 0/10 would not recommend.

Food was not fresh. Served cold and speak no English. Restaurant had no running water in building and was still in service. Feel it was unsanitary. Place needs to be closed up and the bathrooms were filthy and smelly.

Alright where do I start? So I came here on my birthday for my choice of 1 birthday meal and I finally decided to try a buffet in 2024 lol. I come in and I'm greeted by this nice lady at the cash register and she is smiling and laughing and I'm getting good vibes. I came at dinner time where it barely turned 3:35 pm and I paid $18.97 adult and another for about $22-23 because that one comes with unlimited soda refills, yeah I know about a $3-4 price jump because of soda. Inflation am I right 🤣 So now I head in and I have very low expectations and the place was big inside but very few people because I'm guessing buffets of this price range are no longer popular because of the food quality. I go ahead and grab my plate and I look around at the food and the first thing I noticed was the fruit and how old and dry they looked because I'm assuming it was there sitting all day from opening time and I just arrived when dinner time started so I got unlucky. I go ahead and see what I'ma get from the hot foods and everything looks dry because like I said before it's probably sitting there from when they barely opened. I fill my plate slowly with very small portions because I know that if I serve myself too much I'll have a lot of unfinished food and I'll look like a meanie who wastes food when the workers come to collect your plates to dump the food you didn't eat. As expected the foods were very dry and some of the foods had a very funny taste to them. But when I went for seconds I saw the chefs or workers putting in fresh foods into the hot food area. I then go ahead and retry those foods and they tasted much better than the first batch but still a bit oily. I mainly came here because of the sushi and I eat a lot of sushi. They have a pretty decent selection of sushi. I accidentally grabbed some sushi from the front and just as I expected the rice was a bit crunchy/stale so I went back and grabbed from the back and this time the sushi wasn't hard or warm, it was nice and cold. They have unagi which was good just as you'd expect and the nigiri sweet shrimp was ok not much flavor just a bit sweet. The salmon tuna avocado roll was ok but it was a bit lackluster for flavor and felt kinda old. The California roll was exactly what you'd expect from your own savemart store except a little cheaper taste. I get it it's a buffet with cheap tasting food and the quality will be more favored towards quantity since they gotta make a lot of it. The pork buns and steamed buns were ok but after having one you wouldn't want another one. The roast beef had a very weird but funny taste and I got a small piece of it but only ate like an inch of it. The best thing from the hot foods were the coconut shrimp, the chicken on a stick and fried shrimp. Also the pizza tasted as if I was eating a quesadilla because of the cheese they used for it 😂 Also one of the worker ladies who collects your dishes seemed to be very happy, she'd giggle and smile a lot. Makes me wonder if they love their job because it's an easy job to do because all you gotta do is clean tables, sweep, collect dirty dishes etc. and they get paid to just smile 🤭 Shoot I'd be happy too, I worked at stanford dining. Now the main thing I was looking forward to the crepes. I came in thinking I was gonna get one of those appetizing looking TikTok crepes in the videos but instead I got this very nice looking crepe on the outside but on the inside it was terrible hahaha, the fruits you get to choose from to put inside the crepe were old looking bananas that had that over ripe taste to it and then peaches that look like they were left over night unrefrigerated and then pineapple that had lost its Bright yellow color. It was not good and I couldn't finish it all. Now let's talk about deserts. The deserts were... Yes you guessed it! Flavorless and stale since they were probably left out from the morning. The only good desert were the almond cookies with the almond in the middle. Some plates were dirty and utensils were all mostly dirty so I used chopsticks. Never coming here but now I know

Food was terrible the shrimp made me throw up the service was lazy and didn't do much the atmosphere was noisy lots of kids running around one even touched my food ruined my appitate would not go to again.

I would give minus stars but that is not an option. This restaurant was so good when it first opened as Hibachi, but then it started going down hill and changed it's name to Champion Grill and was not better. The staff is not the issue, it's the leadership and ownership of the restaurant. Food is reused, cold, and old. Every once in a while the food would be fresh and hot. The last time we went the water was turned off while we were eating. I found out while over hearing another custom complain about not being able to wash his hands. The manager said he could just wait for the water but then I asked how they were washing their hands, cleaning appropriately, and cleaning safety for the customers...I asked her to put out sanitizing buckets so staff and stay clean and clean properly, she stated that the water was out on the whole restaurant. Staff was cutting raw meat and not washing or at least using a sanitized soaked towel in between helping customers, nothing was being wiped down properly. I did make a call to the city and they did respond appropriately and Champion Grill did what was needed to be cleared to continue to be in business, However, there is so much breakdown of the inside of the restaurant, structure, and bathrooms. This restaurant needs a complete renovation. We will not be returning.

It was clean. That’s the positive oh and the staff was friendly. Now onto the food. Food was stale, barely lukewarm, and hard to eat. The best thing the kid and I had was the pudding. We stayed maybe 15 minutes and left. Got a plate each and we didn’t finish them. My 19 yr old and I agreed that we didn’t want to get sick. Cost $37 for 2 of us eat. We went at 5pm and you’d expect the food to be fresh especially if it’s gonna be dinner time.
