This review is long overdue - favorite restaurant in Central Valley! Eating inside and takeout (both ordered online and through the phone) has always been delicious and satisfying. But we love going in to eat because the employees are extremely kind! I love supporting their business, they deserve it. We've gotten to try lots of things here. Here's a rundown of my favorites 1. House special chow mein crispy noodle - flavorful and a great combination! 2. Walnut prawns - not a dish I recommend to have as your own plate because it is sweet if that's all you're eating (I don't mind it, but know others might). Wonderful in combination with many other plates when eating with a large group. 3. Garlic chicken - yummy and interesting flavor. 4. Broccoli beef - classic takeout, always good. 5. General Tsao chicken - crunchy fried chicken, very delicious. 6. Vegetable Brown fried rice - THE BEST, we get this every single time. I love sticking to my favorites, and want to try some new choices soon.

I ordered for pick up and was calling right before they were closed. I had never tried here before, after returning home I served our family and all the food was fresh , hot and had great flavor . We will definitely return again , family business with great food!

Restaurant is clean, food is great. Staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. Definitely recommend to come by for a bite to eat. If you are stopping by the merced area .

My wife and I just had lunch there, after their remodel. Wow, we were pleasantly surprised. The place looks so much better, and it's cooler in there now. The food was soooooo good. The dumplings and Siu mai hit, and we had the egg custard tarts for dessert. Same. VERY good. Great, great service, and prices very reasonable. We will be back.

Bomb, best in Merced. Brings a missed part of the bay to the valley, the traditional Chinese food. Even the American Chinese is delicious. The staff are ridiculously friendly and happy to see you even when you show up to order take out at 120AM.

Had a great lunch at New Hong Kong. The menu has a lot of great choices, both American style & authentic Chinese dishes. Service was prompt & polite, over all great experience. BTW, I saw a few reviews mention flies. When I went on 6/30 did not see a single one!

Don’t be fooled by the atmosphere. Looks little outdated but the food is delicious and cooked with cleanliness. With the current inflation, the dishes are still affordable. My first time trying vegetable chow mein and I loved it. Would definitely come back!

This place changed hands and got a complete makeover in June 2025. IT IS SOOO GOOD. We ordered many items off the traditional menu: Cold Tofu Salad, Crispy Pork Belly, Leaf wrapped Fried Rice, Stir Fried Choy Sum w/ Garlic, Mango Pudding, Mango Smoothie, Hong Kong Milk Tea. ALL of it was some of the best food in Merced, and at an amazing price. I am moving away from Merced and truly sad to not eat here!

Go straight for the specials recommended by the chef over the normal menu! E.g. the sauerkraut sour spicy fish

The employees are awesome. They go out of their way to help you with whatever your needs are and the food is outstanding. I highly recommend new Hong Kong restaurant.

Wow. I’m super impressed w the change. I used to love Hong Kong but the prices got too high and the portions shrank. The next new owners changed the recipe of a lot of classics so I stopped eating there the past few years. Fast forward to today when I was walking by and noticed the Under New Management sign so I thought I’d give it another try. I ordered the combo plate for $11.95. Fried rice, s&s pork & chow mein noodles. (The chow mein noodles come w egg & pork but the single order of chow mein has more veggies, etc.) The pieces of pork are big and the sauce has a good taste. Let me tell you, the portions are HUGE. The plate was so heavy, I had to weight it. It was 3.25 lbs. That’s a lot of food. Nothing more could fit in the container. The prices are way lower too. The most expensive item is $14.95 (hong kong special for a minimum 2 people) but most are $7.95-$12.95 and you get plenty. I’d order one item for each person and share. My other family members saw my plate and had to try it the next day. They ordered the Mongolian beef (a lil spicy but tolerable for non spicy eaters like me) and chow mein. Both were heaping full plates of fresh, hot and delicious food cooked to order. If you prefer less spicy, just ask them to alter it. I can’t wait to try more of the many, many options available. I’m so excited to have a new place to eat right across the street from me that I can afford weekly. Remember, it’s under new management so give it a try! It’s worth it. Edit: After trying this restaurant under the new owner a few times, I’d highly recommend skipping the cheaper combo plate ($11.95) and ordering individual dishes. The lower price combo is tempting and you get a lot but the extra few dollars for the special versions is way better. The reason is because the rice and chow mein noodles you get w the combo are their basic version. The rice has egg and pieces of pork, and the chow mein noodles have egg, bean sprouts and slices of pork on top. But when you order them individually off the menu, order the special rice so that you get all the extras like peas,, etc. Same w the chow mein. Order the special chow mein dish because it has a lot of vegetables that aren’t in the basic chow mein noodles included w the combo plate. If you look at the pictures, you’ll see what I mean about the combo plate rice & chow mein and the rice & chow mein ordered as individual dishes. This is most likely why there is such a discrepancy between reviews. Some people ordered the combo plates and were disappointed not knowing that some of the dishes were the basic versions. I’m wondering if they’d feel the same if they tried the special versions? Take my advice… Order off the menu and not the combo plate.

Hong Kong has the most authentic Cantonese/Hong Kong/Southern Chinese Cuisine in the Merced area. We have been here several times and have tried many of the dishes on the menu. We even tried the roast duck. Large portions so we always take some home for snacking too. We will be back soon.

Love this place! Restaurant is under new ownership as of this year. Great prices, delicious food and lovely atmosphere. Prefer their chow mein that has that yummy sauce, orange chicken had just the right crisp, chicken was tender and flavor of the orange sauce was perfect. Staff is very kind and attentive and portions large! Will definitely be back.

A lot of my friends were recommending and telling me to check out this restaurant so i finally did yesterday. Super friendly service seriously, the waitresses were so kind and welcoming. The food was really good and came out fast. Honestly, I don’t get the bad reviews… feels like maybe some jealous competition nearby? Either way, I had a great experience and will definitely be back!

Learned that this place just reopened under new management. Still a little skeptical because of the reviews from long past, but things have definitely changed in here. Food is fantastic, and the portions are so large. I question how they could possibly stay in business if they keep that up. Service was wonderful, bordering on overly attentive! I saw one person sneak in and wasn’t seen by busy staff, and then got a little upset that nobody noticed her sitting in the corner, but you have to let people know you have walked in if they are going to serve you, right? Once they noticed her, they got her order and her food out to her quickly. It was the same with my wife and I. Personally, I do not see how this place could improve on what it has right now.

S

Hands down best authentic Chinese food in town!! It’s not the typical chow mien, fried rice, teriyaki chicken type of thing. I mean you can also get that here too, but try their other dishes, you won’t be disappointed! I would highly recommend. Will be going back soon to try all the other dishes.

New Hong Kong has really transformed itself with a newly renovated and fresh interior as well as a brand new menu that caters to both americanized Chinese tastes but more importantly has really upped their game with more authentic Chinese dishes. No matter if you are here to satisfy your favorite familiar dishes like broccoli beef or orange chicken or here to experience an authentic Chinese food sensation, New Hong Kong has something for everyone. I tried the New Hong Kong restaurant with a party of almost 20 people and the staff were very accommodating and were able to bring out our orders with a decent amount of swiftness. Dishes our party ordered and thoroughly enjoyed: (4) Pan-Fried Scallion Pancakes (2) Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken (1) Roast Duck (Whole) (2) Rice Noodle Roll with Shrimp (2) Rice Noodle Roll with Cilantro and Beef (2) Fish Fillet and Lettuce Congee (2) Stir Flat Rice Noodles with Beef (2) Yangzhou Fried Rice (2) Green Bean with Olive Pickle and Minced Pork (2) Braised Tofu with Fish Fillet Clay Pot (2) Bitter Melon and Pork Ribs Clay Pot (1) Broccoli Beef (4) Crispy Roasted Pork Belly Total cost was under $400 even with a 20% tip.

They’re doing a soft opening. Under new ownership (for the past few weeks) and I would definitely come again. English, canto, & mando friendly. Ordered and had my food in 15 mins. Get the beef chow fun (NOT the MEIN), you wont regret it. Great portions with perfect balance of veggies to noodles to beef. This pic is after I ate a good portion of it already.

Do NOT mind the bad reviews. They do not understand that this is an actual LEGIT Chinese restaurant. This is not a typical panda express Chinese AMERICAN restaurant. These are legit Chinese dishes and we in the valley are SO lucky we even have something like this and we don’t have to go to Sacramento or the bay or Fresno. This is ACTUAL Chinese food. Please educate yourself on the difference and have different expectations. This food is EXCELLENT, GOOD PRICES, and excellent and friendly staff. I am seriously so happy we have this. This is what I’ve been looking for forever. If you think this is gonna be just a regular orange chicken place you’re wrong. Expand your palate and try other things! Get outside your comfort zone. This place has delicious food!!!

I was skeptical at first because some of the reviews aren't very good. However, I noticed that most of those reviews were from a while back and there is this sign "under new ownership" in front of the restaurant so I decided to give it try. I'm so glad I did. This restaurant is now one of my most favourite Chinese restaurants. Being an Asian myself, my standard for Asian food is very high and this restaurant easily reaches it. The food is delicious and authentic. I loved everything I tried so far. The amount is huge. With around $10-15, you get one big dish (that I have to ask for take away boxes both times I've been there). The restaurant is clean and spacious and, on top of that, they have one of the nicest and friendliest staff I've seen. I'll definitely come back to eat here again.

The New Hong Kong restaurant in the Raley’s plaza is open now! The worker there said they had their first day on Wednesday, June 18, so they’re fully open for business! They have a new menu with a lot of different food for Merced, especially authentic Chinese dishes! I got the bacon fried rice, and I’d rate it a high 9/10! 😊 For the soup dumplings, it took a little while for them to come out, but they were still good too! The pork buns were also pretty nice as well! The price was definitely worth it though for everything! 😊

The place is super affordable and very tasteful! Do not stick to dishes like orange chicken, try something like their fried rice, chow mein, and chop suey, you will like those for sure. The place doesn't look very well lit from the outside but inside the view is pretty and it will likely become the go-to place for families and students. You can eat here for less than 10 dollars per person as the dishes are very big, take that into account when you come here to dine. The staff is also super friendly, be nice to them back :)

We recently found and fell in love with spicy salt and pepper wings in the Bay Area. Today, my husband had a craving. We searched and found they have them here!! Well, not spicy, but still...so delicious! The crispiness and flavor were spot on! They were also huge! The young man and young lady who helped us were very sweet. When I was leaving the young man said "I wish you'll love them"...well sir, your wish came true. We love them and you'll be seeing us again.

Decided to try this place out, the menu looked really good and the options were endless. There were alot of traditional foods you dont see served in other Chinese restaurants in our area and it peaked our interest. Needless to say, my family and I were very impressed. The food was delicious, affordable, and they did not skimp on the serving sizes. The servers were so kind and attentive, they went above and beyond to make my son watermelon juice and went to get a watermelon from Raleys next door. Needless to say they have earned lifetime customers. Would absolutely recommend eating here.

New edit: new owners again. Food is really good. The chow mein is really good. They give you huge portions. have to edit this. They have a new owner and they changed the food. It is HORRIBLE now. Made me really sad, this was my favorite place for decades.

The restaurant has tons of menu, but I chose the most recommended one as mentioned in the app. The portion is huge, while the taste is okay. Never try the original Hongkong food, but the food in this restaurant does remind me about food in Hongkong airport. The chicken feet is very good, and even better when add some chili oil/chili sauce. The BBQ Pork is also good. The roasted pork is good, but the skin is still a little bit chewy. Oh and for the roasted duck, I prefer it to be more tender. The veggies...very freshh and good (perfectly cooked), but I need extra effort to eat/chew thrm cause they are so bigg, like the whole bunches of veggies. Uber eats said the food is ready, but I had to wait couple minutes to get them ready, because the restaurant is very busy...even the manager/the owner/I don't really know who she is, but she's also shouted in the kitchen..she seemed mad about something..anyway, on the positive side, the restaurant is very clean, the servers are also very friendly. Probably, I should try other dishes next time.

Service was great but food does not have the authentic taste it had from original Hong Kong. Receipes don't seem the same and at least on this visit food seemed very bland. For the price, I expected better.

S
Sela Lucero

Sadly since the owners sold and moved the recipes have not been the same! And it's sad because the workers here are amazing!! And super sweet!! The husband and wife duo are super sweet and kind!! The Mongolian chicken Extra extra hot was mine and my husband's go to!! The last two times we got it was the last time because like I said the original owners took their recipes with them and the new recipe does not taste the same. Haven't ate here in a year or maybe longer now!! But we crave it all the time but know we can no longer order from here. Bring back the original recipes please!!

C
Connie Rich-Cota

The recipes are not the same as the old recipes that used to be top notch. The egg rolls have stayed unique. The chicken chow main Cantonese noodles are orange and the veggies seem canned not fresh but were not terrible. Rice was a definite turnoff. Shrimp were overcooked. I miss Mary and Davis. The new owners are great people but wish the would either go back to old recipes with better ingredients or lower prices. They can expect lower ratings and loss of clientele if the food keeps going downhill.

L

Would love to try this place again so please take care of the fly situation asap This id considered an urgent matter and it seemed like no one cared. We couldn't enjoy our food and had to rush eat. The stars are for how patient the servers were when ordering and the food.

J
Jenn Tereba

Giving a very mixed review here, because on my third visit I'm sensing a declining trend in quality. I was so pleased the first time I came here for lunch, and today nearly all the vegetables have vanished from the chow mein, and it's very 'generic' compared to my first visits where the quality made them stand out.

T
Teng Her

Nice atmosphere to eat and the food have good flavors. I ordered Cripsy Pork Belly and Roasted duck along with a fried rice. My fried rice was tasty and smoking hot which means its fresh. Things that weren't good: - My crispy pork belly and duck were not warmed. It feels like room temperature.

D
Dan Hicks

It's great to have a Chinese restaurant with an authentic menu. But services is often slow and it's always so smokey inside that it gives me a headache. Seems like it would be a big issue for the workers?

W
Will Peters

On the positive side, the staff was friendly and attentive throughout. Also, the egg rolls and pot stickers were wonderful. Menu is packed with so many items, makes it hard to choose. On the downside, we saw where customers got the wrong order twice during our visit and although our orders were correct, items we chose were not available, such as the twice-cooked pork. Men's bathroom soap dispenser was out of soap and floor was sticky. Their ring tone for delivery is too loud for the room and detracts from the atmosphere.

W
WTF ISthis

3 / 5 rating. It took half our food to come out in 30 minutes and the other half of our food to come out 15 minutes later. Quite a long wait. I think they have to big of a menu to keep up with. Besides that some of the food was ok some was not. I had the clay pot duck rice with choy sum. It was a large amount of food for the price. Sometimes the flavor was good other dishes my table ordered was bland. The servers were very polite. It was a fun try but probably won't be back.

So I went in around 9pm for late night dinner. Ended up ordering salt & pepper wings and sticky rice and bbq pork. My spouse got soup dumplings and wan ton soup. The order took about 30 minutes. Not bad of a wait. The salt & pepper wings I got were basic wings that were super crunchy and juicy in the inside with some type of chili and fried onion for a topping .I got the 8 piece 12.99 meal. The sticky rice was more was mushy. The Won Ton soup was the steal for everything we got. The won tons had so much flavor, the soup had veggies in it no other places have. The brotha tasted like no other, and the price was worth the quantity .Then the bbq pork tasted like braised pork belly. And or soup dumplings tasted bland, the soup dumplings were the go to. Other than that, the atmosphere was nice and big. Spacious, and clean. Looks kid friendly, had a tv in the back corner. Bathrooms for paying customer. And is in a surrounding area of other food and restaurants parking lot area. Plenty of parking. Definitely got what we paid for. So if you expect more, find another place.

The food was inedible I asked for chicken chowmein and I got noodles with raw frozen chicken covered with gravy a few veggies on top not good I asked for something else and was denied. Peppered steak looked delicious come to find out it was also inedible hard to chew and hard on the gums. Beef noodle was completely not expected beefnoodle soup with noodles for chowmein and veggies that were completely random I paid 60 $ for 3 meals that went untouched and very disappointed that we chose this place to have a nice meal.

This place isn't worth the trouble. I got the lunch special. The "soup of the day", according to my waitress, was noodle soup; which is apparently the usual. No variety. The soup itself was bland and very watered down. When my main course arrived, I was hopeful; until I tasted my beef and broccoli. The gravy it came with had no flavor and the beef was slightly chewy. The noodles were good but the rice lacked flavor as well. This used to be a good establishment, even at expensive prices: You got what you paid for! Well I certainly payed over $10 for low quality dining.

Food was amazing! Had the honey walnut shrimp, fried rice, and chow mein everything tastes fresh! I just had to make a review on the service. With the amount of food that they have I believe they should simplify the menu. It took about 40 minutes to get my takeout after waiting for the time that it said it was ready online. Throughout my time waiting I experiencing a lot of shouting in the back of the kitchen, lots of confusion with other customers, confusion amongst the waitresses. It seemed as if it was chaos. Seen one waitress and experienced it myself would tell us one thing and another waitress tell us another. It was also towards the end of the night so things were running out. They close at 9 PM. I got here around 8:20 PM. As for service I’m not sure if I’ll come back but I think I’ll come back but take take out and make sure I have a lot of time to spare. Was busy for takeout and sitting in.

Ordered a combination plate and received food that was definitely not freshly made looks as if it was in a warmer for awhile. Chow main noodles were dry and hardened(not fresh). Big portions of low quality food.

The servers here are absolute gems friendly, attentive, and genuinely seem to care about the customers. I watched them work nonstop to keep everything running smoothly, and they deserve all the praise in the world. Unfortunately, their boss, a woman I overheard them call Macy, seems determined to ruin the atmosphere. I literally saw her yelling at staff over the tiniest things, picking on the ones who already looked exhausted. Then, she stormed into the back and started screaming at the kitchen staff in rapid Chinese I couldn’t understand the words, but the hostility was crystal clear. It was uncomfortable, unnecessary, and downright ugly to watch. Who does she think she is?!

The changed the recipes from before the renovation. The noodles are harder and have almost a citrus aftertaste. The salt and pepper tofu was less salty and less spicy than before. But worst is the atmosphere. The constant music, the hotel lobby aesthetic. It feels like an IKEA cafeteria or if someone described a Chinese restaurant over the phone. I really miss the old red paint, the dragon archway, and the brass relief of the Great Wall. But that's replaced with anime cats. I had to include before and after. It feels so sterile and the constant music blasting makes me feel like I'm in a hotel lobby. It doesn't feel like a Chinese restaurant and I'm really sad. I'll probably stick to take out if I eat here again.

I saved up for 2 weeks to get food from here and was so disappointed 😞 the orange chicken was not good , my chowchein lacked flavor and did not have the port im it at all 😭 even though I asked for pork chowmein

I was excited to try New Hong Kong Restaurant, especially seeing their menu filled with traditional Cantonese dishes — something Merced could really benefit from. I sincerely hope they can succeed, but at this stage, I think they may have been too ambitious with the size and scope of their menu, which is forcing some quality shortcuts. The dim sum selections, unfortunately, were clearly frozen packaged items you could easily buy and steam at home. The roast duck was mostly bones, and the crispy roast pork was mostly fat. The advertised hand-pulled noodles were not freshly made but instead packaged dry noodles with a premade sauce. Overall, many dishes tasted reheated or made from pre-packaged ingredients rather than cooked fresh in-house. Service also needs improvement — staff lacked experience and attentiveness, with basics like providing plates and napkins being overlooked. There’s a lot of potential here if the kitchen focuses on a smaller number of freshly prepared dishes and staff receive more training. I’d love to return and support them as they improve!

Food is greasy, dry and not tasty. They give a good portion but not worth it.

Food was decent but that 40+ minutes wait on a to fo isn't worth it. Especially when I see others get their food first that ordered after I did. Then when I tried canceling it my food was magically ready. Had to edit: the food looked decent but the noodles were under cook. Never again not even if it's free

looks like this place is recently under new management. we’ve gotten food here plenty of times before and have enjoyed it, but with the new management the same dishes we used to get have now become disappointing. the worst offender was the pork chow mein. the sauce was bland, and gloppy, and it only came with 5 tiny thin slices of pork. the noodles were not cooked evenly either. the walnut shrimp was ok, but still lacking the flavor and crispiness it used to have.

c
catb

The beef chow mein was good. The sweet and sour pork was just breaded, deep fried pork with sauce. It didn't have any pineapple or peppers. Most of my pieces were entirely fat instead of meat. The pork fried rice was pasty. It was just rice and pork, with no egg or peas. Our wait time wasn't too bad, but I was served first and my husband was served about 10 minutes later. I will not be going back.

I was excited to try the re-opened Hong Kong and was hoping that my favorite, chicken chow fun was still as good as it was at the original Hong Kong. Fortunately, the chow fun was great! The pot stickers were awesome. Everything else was lacking. The service was extremely slow! It was a Tuesday night and not crowded at all. It took 40 minutes to get our appetizer! When dinner finally arrived we had been there for an hour and a half. They brought out my dinner companions plate, and while he ate, I waited another fifteen minutes for my dinner. But the worst was the amount of flies in the restaurant!! They seemed to be never ending and I wondered if we should have requested a table for two or one for 10 to accommodate our FLY dinner companions!! When I asked the waitress why so many flies, she suggested that next time we place an order on the phone and come in an hour to pick it up and take it home to eat!! She said that it was because they had no vent in the kitchen so when it gets Smokey from cooking, they have to open the front door! So naturally, the flies bring all their friends and neighbors to join in trying out the buffet from table to table. Sadly, I will be looking for a favorite Chinese food place as this one just didn’t make me want to return.

I ordered C combination meal. It didn’t look like the picture. The pork fried rice didn’t have any pork. It looked dingy pink. The sweet and sour pork had no vegetables and was mostly breading. The broccoli beef had an interesting sauce and set atop bland noodles. I’ve had a stomachache since. The photo on the right is what I ordered and the one on the left is what I was given.

This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The chow mein looked like it was covered in slimy noodles, my fried shrimp was a ball of dough and the “fried” chow mein was a container or burnt sticks. I will never come here again and pray this is not what Merced Chinese food is really like.

Horrible service and mediocre food!! We ordered at 6:30pm, at 7:10 the food arrived except one dish walnut shrimp. At 7:30 the waitress finally came over to see how dinner was, I told her we were missing a dinner and she felt bad she hadn't noticed. She went to the kitchen and then came back to say they didn't have the right size shrimp to make the walnut shrimp. I said to use smaller shrimp and they said they wouldn't do that. So it took them 1 hour and 15 min to tell me they couldn't make the meal I ordered at 6:35. Everyone had finished their meals by the time she offered me a menu again. Completely unprofessional! Will never return!!

There was a cockroach crawling on our table so we called the waitress over and she said they just sprayed. I hadn't touched my food yet so I refused to pay for my plate. Still wanted us to pay for everything and I said I'm not paying for my plate. Over $30 for tea, soup and chowmein. No offer for a discount for the inconvenience. I ate some of the soup and now my stomach is churning. I'll never come here again because they had a lacks a daisical attitude about the roach

Terrible!!! We have been going there for years and just got ripped off. No meat in Chowmein Cantonese basically noodles with a couple of pieces of celery for close to $11. Square pieces liitle skinny pieces of barbecue prk. Cold food. Called to complain and was told, "I will let them know." No offer of credit or refund even after i mentioned that they didnt offer. BEWARE!!! WE ENDED UP THROWING IT AWAY AND COOKING NEW FOOD. If I could give it a 0 we would. Wasted $40.00.and the worst part was how they handled the complaint

This place was not ready to open. Their system was down so they were writing everything down by hand so our order wasn’t put in automatically. We suspect the girl taking our order didn’t even put it in. We waited fourty minutes before deciding to just leave. There were flies absolutely everywhere and the cutlery was not clean. So disappointing, I was so excited for a place with dim sum in Merced.

M
Melissa Christine Corriea

This was an awful experience. The waitresses were very rude. I requested another drink multiple times and received nothing, however, I was billed for multiple drinks. Our food came out at all different times. Flies were everywhere. No ac. I was sweating. Not a pleasant atmosphere either. Guess on decals on the wall. We were brought paper plates for a dine in experience. Overall just horrible.

Went in July 20 when we walked in they had burnt the duck they brought us orange chicken off the bat and it was so cold beef broccoli was soupy they brought us salt pepper ribs super soft look like they weren’t fully cooked they never brought out our steam rice nor chow main. Very disappointed with the service and food we will never be returning. Didn’t even give us a discount for the food being cold.

They claim to have a new owner and renovated the interior. However, it took 30 minutes to order, another 30 minutes for appetizers to arrive, and another 30 minutes for the main course. This extremely long waiting time is amazingly terrible for a Chinese restaurant. Speaking of the food, the roast pork was rock hard, there is no meat sauce on the rice, the taro was raw (be warned that raw taro can be toxic) but the waitress did nothing about it. When it comes to service -- No water. Extremely disappointed experience.

K

Make sure you double check your tab, they automatically add 20% gratuity without letting you know. When I got home and called them, they denied it and hung up on me. Bad service 👎 would not go back again.

Orange chicken was disgusting and super cold. Fried pork belly wasn’t fully cooked it was cold as well. The taro drink wasn’t even cold it was warm. Place full of flies. Would not recommend this place.

I tried giving it another chance but nope. Food was cold, chow mein was stuck together and was very dry, my chicken was dry and no flavor to it. Service was ok. Took about 35 min to get my dry noodles and flavorless chicken.

Horrible 2 Hours experience!! I had a lot of things to say to this place. *No AC, when they purposely opened during summer time(doesn’t make sense) *never offered water, I had to ask the server for it *server not knowledgeable about the menu could not even answer our question about a dish *the last dish we ordered was the first one that came out and served( are you serious?) *Waiting game each dish comes out at a different times *Flies everywhere landed on the dish they served *No structure No system or whatsoever *My drink(thai tea)came out after 2 dishes, it came out with a reusable straw(looked like somebody’s tumbler straw that was already placed in my drink(I did not open any straw package, it’s supposed to be disposable) so I brought it back and cancelled that drink *The 3rd dish came out after and hour and 20 mins still did not get any sides nor utensils *server brought us a dish that we did not even ordered and when brought up to their attention, she said that they ran out of the dish we ordered so they switched it to something else close to it, at that point my family was already upset because they make decisions for you instead of asking us. *other people that came 30 mins after us received their food faster than us, the lady at the front blamed us for ordering complicated dish when they have a million dishes on their menu(hahaha!) *We never touched the food so we decided to leave it was too much chaotic and obviously they don’t know what they're doing but they told us we have to pay I refused to pay for something I did eat and I refused to pay for bad service *Server lecturing us about Restaurant etiquette, don’t even get me started with that! *I asked to speak to a manager they told me to wait because he/she is busy I seriously waited 15 mins just to attempt to have a conversation and they asked us to sit down when we have been seating down waiting for our food for 1 1/2-2 hrs!! Ridiculous!!! So we walked out the door and will Never going back ever!! I highly DO NOT recommend this new place! Go somewhere else pleaassee🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I get that you guys just open and still trying to get a hang of it but clearly you guys DID NOT put a lot of training on customer service and learn how the system works!!

The one server walking around was trying her best as the chef kept coming out to yell at her. Maybe if she wasn’t getting yelled at she would have not forgotten half of our food, and the food that did come to our table taste like soap, including the drinks.

Took my family of 6 to dine there. Food was okay and service could be better. I’m giving a one star because the waitress charged a 20% gratuity on my card and no where did it say gratuity is automatically added. The minute she ran my card I see it right away from the notification I received. I was a bit annoyed that she chose the highest percentage but it was whatever. When she came back with my card and the receipts, nowhere on both receipts did it showed the total charged with the gratuity that she added. It only showed the subtotal. If I didn’t get the notification right away I would’ve added extra gratuity. So of course I only wrote the subtotal as the total with no extra gratuity since my card has already been charged with gratuity. That’s what got me upset, she trying to pull a fast one on me.

Ordered multiple family style meals for a completely different server named Guan come tell me i had to change my order due to multiple items not being available. I could not easily change my order as she could not tell me what was not available she became rude and unfortunately my face says it all and so does my tone and I rudely requested her to ask the chef what items were unavailable. Guan walked off very rudely did not see her again and miraculously my original order came to the table by another server about 30 minutes later. After my family and I boxed our leftovers and were getting ready to pay I asked the other server for Guans name and found out that she called her mother who at that point came at me extremely abrasive as if she was wanting to fight. This is not a professional establishment and also unsafe as she called her mother who sat in the table right behind me until she heard me ask for the serves name then she decided to get confrontational. I left the establishment stating I would be putting in a review and that the mother is lucky I did call the police for harassment. Guan you and your mother are a liability to that establishment and really should learn some customer service and not lie to the customers still find it funny that the original order came out even though the food was cold and not great

Ordered food last night and the issue I ran into is food quality paid $20 for half duck which they cut while I was waiting and same for crispy pork and both were cold not even close to warm. $20 for half cold duck and crispy pork rubbery skin for $14.99 a 1lb is terrible u expect to get food hot or warm but the food is sitting around with no heat especially the duck was in the glass warmer but they turned off the heat to keep it warm so who knows how long it stayed there in the glass with no heat cold to the touch. Will not go back again and check ur food when u order to pickup because it might be cold like the two they gave me which is no good. Cooks should know better to not send out cold food like that especially when they make us pay full price for cold food

SO MANY THINGS WRONG IN ONE RESTAURANT. Why are noodles left out in the open? Why aren’t they being stored properly? I ordered potstickers (gyoza), i’ve never had this greasy/ watery or whatever this is of gyoza, when I bit into the gyoza it leaked everywhere all over me. (Look at pictures for reference) the second thing I ordered was chicken teriyaki, it didn’t smell right, I didn’t look right, I felt scared to try it considering the number of post I saw about roaches. I PAID $28 for a meal I CAN NOT even EAT. They charge you $1.50 per fortune cookie. After paying $28 for a meal, I cannot eat, there was no utensils, nor napkins provided. Your food sucks and you’re overly expensive.

Service was terrible we ordered the crispy roast pork and it was absolutely rancid and cold. Our sweet and sour pork and orange chicken came out cold, the chow mein was wonderful some of the best I've had, the fried rice was ok but all our meat entrees were cold $77 dollars worth of food went in the garbage I do not recommend this place.

IM WARNING YOU DONT EAT HERE!!! PLEASE DON'T. This place is not even worth a star. Me and my whole family agree that this has got to be the worst Chinese food we have ever eaten. There was no flavor in the food and if there was it was pure oil. The food was cold. Pork hard as a rock, rice and noodles were like biting into an oil stick. Overall horrible experience, never returning. We told the server the food was cold and he was super rude. Saying "This is how we have been since 19"...he didn't finish his sentence. My goodness I have never been to a worst restaurant. By the way the Crispy is not panfried but little sticks of fried oil...

Ordered food off door dash and potstickers were way undercooked, chowmein was clumped together and looked old, my egg drop soup had suspect chicken in it (not sure why it had chicken at all) and the sizzling seafood platter was over cooked. I want to give them another try but the food was completely disgusting and it looks like they have no quality control. I wouldn’t even serve the food I got to a homeless person.

Bad experience and bad service. The manager literally told us we didn’t leave a tip when in fact the server added the gratuity automatically but somehow they couldn’t see it in their system. Then accused us of breaking their table somehow 🤯 Our tab was one amount but my bank statement showed a much higher amount 20% to be exact. They became rude and defensive. NEVER going back. Take your hard earned money elsewhere they don’t deserve it.

Food is tasteless, but very salty. We ordered an appetizer which came when we paid the check. The waitress tried to pressure us into taking and paying for the appetizers anyway. We ended our meal early once we realized how much flies were there, the workers are casually walking around with fly swatters. Definitely don't recommend. We ordered combo D, Kung pow, orange chicken, fried rice, chicken wings etc. Lack of genuine flavor.

M
Maiv Thoj

I thought we the new ownership and new menu food would taste better. Worst combination plate ever. The chow mein look like it was stir in oil top w bean sprouts. The fried rice was so nasty soy sauce w bbq meat. The fried chicken was ok. Over all worst Chinese food ever..

I ordered for delivery & it was a waste of $50. The egg rolls were burned & the filling was not good at all. There was no sauce at all with my potstickers which again the filling was not good. I ordered vegetable bean sprouts chow mein & there were no other veggies nor any soy sauce packets and was very blah. And same with the beef & noodle dish absolutely no sauce packets and was very bland. I never leave bad reviews really I don’t, this may be my first one. But save your money.

I had always been a fan of the previous Hong Kong restaurant so I was delighted to find out that the restaurant opened with new management and a fresh new menu. Was excited to try it but when I walked in the person behind the counter was more occupied playing on his phone, didn't even ask us if we were eating in or taking out like every other restaurant, and didn't motion to hand us the menu until I went to go grab the paper menu they had at the counter. I ordered the lotus root stir fry with Chinese sausage, lotus leaf fried rice with Chinese sausage, and the shrimp rice noodles. The lotus root stir fry tasted purely like msg and salt and the shrimp rice noodles tasted like soap sometimes. I never got the lotus leaf fried rice even after being approached if I was okay if they can replace the meat with just more Chinese sausage which I agreed to. Instead of telling us that the food will be late or just giving us the fried rice, the same person behind the counter (who was also my server) came over and placed down our bill and never asked me if we even got everything and it felt like he wanted me to leave. Checking the bill, I was charged still for the lotus leaf fried rice even though I never got it and I even asked about it twice but never got it. Plus it was a hassle to even ask them to remove it because with the horrible server and one of the chefs coming out and coughing aggressively in his hands in the hallway, I was no longer in the mood to eat.

Don’t let the pretty looks of this restaurant fool you as it did me. Not only did this restaurant consistently make at least one family member sick THE NIGHT OF EATING their food, but the quality just isn’t there either. Somehow the chow main is constantly crunchy and greasy and the fried rice kinda bland(still the best part of the meal). My favorite part about this place is that it isn’t completely overpriced, $15 a plate isn’t the worst I’ve seen. This place would makes a wonderful cafe with great decor and good service, but the food just sets it back for me.

All the dishes tasted the same, only sweet without any other flavor. I ordered the salted fish and chicken fry rice; I found only “ one small piece of salted fish “ ( finally ) in the whole dish. The braised pork belly is not cooked well ( hard and dry ). We are the only customers waiting for food, and the waitress does not even know we ordered three dishes. This is the worst Chinese food I have had. I definitely do not recommend it.
