Hong Kong Cuisine offers both Americanized and authentic Chinese dishes, with many praising the new menu and renovated interior. While some find the food inconsistent and service slow, others rave about the freshness, large portions, and affordable prices. Lucy is a standout staff member.

First time going there for lunch this morning we were blown away with everything the service was great the food was excellent large portions and the prices are very reasonable 100% recommend 👌 will be making this place a regular place to eat that was yummy ..
Best Chinese restaurant in town. Authentic Cantonese foods, roast duck, rice rolls, stir fry beef rice noodles and Szechuan beef, all have the right flavor. Newly renovated interior and friendly services and the price is good. Will come back again.
I was skeptical at first because some of the reviews aren't very good. However, I noticed that most of those reviews were from a while back and there is this sign "under new ownership" in front of the restaurant so I decided to give it try. I'm so glad I did. This restaurant is now one of my most favourite Chinese restaurants. Being an Asian myself, my standard for Asian food is very high and this restaurant easily reaches it. The food is delicious and authentic. I loved everything I tried so far. The amount is huge. With around $10-15, you get one big dish (that I have to ask for take away boxes both times I've been there). The restaurant is clean and spacious and, on top of that, they have one of the nicest and friendliest staff I've seen. I'll definitely come back to eat here again.
The New Hong Kong restaurant in the Raley’s plaza is open now! The worker there said they had their first day on Wednesday, June 18, so they’re fully open for business! They have a new menu with a lot of different food for Merced, especially authentic Chinese dishes! I got the bacon fried rice, and I’d rate it a high 9/10! 😊 For the soup dumplings, it took a little while for them to come out, but they were still good too! The pork buns were also pretty nice as well! The price was definitely worth it though for everything! 😊
Great food, very fresh and serving size was very good. Fair prices! We definitely will be returning.
The best! Shout out to Lucy, she is the best! Love the food, very authentic. Highly recommended
The place is super affordable and very tasteful! Do not stick to dishes like orange chicken, try something like their fried rice, chow mein, and chop suey, you will like those for sure. The place doesn't look very well lit from the outside but inside the view is pretty and it will likely become the go-to place for families and students. You can eat here for less than 10 dollars per person as the dishes are very big, take that into account when you come here to dine. The staff is also super friendly, be nice to them back :)
We recently found and fell in love with spicy salt and pepper wings in the Bay Area. Today, my husband had a craving. We searched and found they have them here!! Well, not spicy, but still...so delicious! The crispiness and flavor were spot on! They were also huge! The young man and young lady who helped us were very sweet. When I was leaving the young man said "I wish you'll love them"...well sir, your wish came true. We love them and you'll be seeing us again.

New Hong Kong has really transformed itself with a newly renovated and fresh interior as well as a brand new menu that caters to both americanized Chinese tastes but more importantly has really upped their game with more authentic Chinese dishes. No matter if you are here to satisfy your favorite familiar dishes like broccoli beef or orange chicken or here to experience an authentic Chinese food sensation, New Hong Kong has something for everyone. I tried the New Hong Kong restaurant with a party of almost 20 people and the staff were very accommodating and were able to bring out our orders with a decent amount of swiftness. Dishes our party ordered and thoroughly enjoyed: (4) Pan-Fried Scallion Pancakes (2) Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken (1) Roast Duck (Whole) (2) Rice Noodle Roll with Shrimp (2) Rice Noodle Roll with Cilantro and Beef (2) Fish Fillet and Lettuce Congee (2) Stir Flat Rice Noodles with Beef (2) Yangzhou Fried Rice (2) Green Bean with Olive Pickle and Minced Pork (2) Braised Tofu with Fish Fillet Clay Pot (2) Bitter Melon and Pork Ribs Clay Pot (1) Broccoli Beef (4) Crispy Roasted Pork Belly Total cost was under $400 even with a 20% tip.

Decided to try this place out, the menu looked really good and the options were endless. There were alot of traditional foods you dont see served in other Chinese restaurants in our area and it peaked our interest. Needless to say, my family and I were very impressed. The food was delicious, affordable, and they did not skimp on the serving sizes. The servers were so kind and attentive, they went above and beyond to make my son watermelon juice and went to get a watermelon from Raleys next door. Needless to say they have earned lifetime customers. Would absolutely recommend eating here.

Do NOT mind the bad reviews. They do not understand that this is an actual LEGIT Chinese restaurant. This is not a typical panda express Chinese AMERICAN restaurant. These are legit Chinese dishes and we in the valley are SO lucky we even have something like this and we don’t have to go to Sacramento or the bay or Fresno. This is ACTUAL Chinese food. Please educate yourself on the difference and have different expectations. This food is EXCELLENT, GOOD PRICES, and excellent and friendly staff. I am seriously so happy we have this. This is what I’ve been looking for forever. If you think this is gonna be just a regular orange chicken place you’re wrong. Expand your palate and try other things! Get outside your comfort zone. This place has delicious food!!!
The restaurant has tons of menu, but I chose the most recommended one as mentioned in the app. The portion is huge, while the taste is okay. Never try the original Hongkong food, but the food in this restaurant does remind me about food in Hongkong airport. The chicken feet is very good, and even better when add some chili oil/chili sauce. The BBQ Pork is also good. The roasted pork is good, but the skin is still a little bit chewy. Oh and for the roasted duck, I prefer it to be more tender. The veggies...very freshh and good (perfectly cooked), but I need extra effort to eat/chew thrm cause they are so bigg, like the whole bunches of veggies. Uber eats said the food is ready, but I had to wait couple minutes to get them ready, because the restaurant is very busy...even the manager/the owner/I don't really know who she is, but she's also shouted in the kitchen..she seemed mad about something..anyway, on the positive side, the restaurant is very clean, the servers are also very friendly. Probably, I should try other dishes next time.

On the positive side, the staff was friendly and attentive throughout. Also, the egg rolls and pot stickers were wonderful. Menu is packed with so many items, makes it hard to choose. On the downside, we saw where customers got the wrong order twice during our visit and although our orders were correct, items we chose were not available, such as the twice-cooked pork. Men's bathroom soap dispenser was out of soap and floor was sticky. Their ring tone for delivery is too loud for the room and detracts from the atmosphere.
3 / 5 rating. It took half our food to come out in 30 minutes and the other half of our food to come out 15 minutes later. Quite a long wait. I think they have to big of a menu to keep up with. Besides that some of the food was ok some was not. I had the clay pot duck rice with choy sum. It was a large amount of food for the price. Sometimes the flavor was good other dishes my table ordered was bland. The servers were very polite. It was a fun try but probably won't be back.

So I went in around 9pm for late night dinner. Ended up ordering salt & pepper wings and sticky rice and bbq pork. My spouse got soup dumplings and wan ton soup. The order took about 30 minutes. Not bad of a wait. The salt & pepper wings I got were basic wings that were super crunchy and juicy in the inside with some type of chili and fried onion for a topping .I got the 8 piece 12.99 meal. The sticky rice was more was mushy. The Won Ton soup was the steal for everything we got. The won tons had so much flavor, the soup had veggies in it no other places have. The brotha tasted like no other, and the price was worth the quantity .Then the bbq pork tasted like braised pork belly. And or soup dumplings tasted bland, the soup dumplings were the go to. Other than that, the atmosphere was nice and big. Spacious, and clean. Looks kid friendly, had a tv in the back corner. Bathrooms for paying customer. And is in a surrounding area of other food and restaurants parking lot area. Plenty of parking. Definitely got what we paid for. So if you expect more, find another place.
The beef chow mein was good. The sweet and sour pork was just breaded, deep fried pork with sauce. It didn't have any pineapple or peppers. Most of my pieces were entirely fat instead of meat. The pork fried rice was pasty. It was just rice and pork, with no egg or peas. Our wait time wasn't too bad, but I was served first and my husband was served about 10 minutes later. I will not be going back.
I was excited to try the re-opened Hong Kong and was hoping that my favorite, chicken chow fun was still as good as it was at the original Hong Kong. Fortunately, the chow fun was great! The pot stickers were awesome. Everything else was lacking. The service was extremely slow! It was a Tuesday night and not crowded at all. It took 40 minutes to get our appetizer! When dinner finally arrived we had been there for an hour and a half. They brought out my dinner companions plate, and while he ate, I waited another fifteen minutes for my dinner. But the worst was the amount of flies in the restaurant!! They seemed to be never ending and I wondered if we should have requested a table for two or one for 10 to accommodate our FLY dinner companions!! When I asked the waitress why so many flies, she suggested that next time we place an order on the phone and come in an hour to pick it up and take it home to eat!! She said that it was because they had no vent in the kitchen so when it gets Smokey from cooking, they have to open the front door! So naturally, the flies bring all their friends and neighbors to join in trying out the buffet from table to table. Sadly, I will be looking for a favorite Chinese food place as this one just didn’t make me want to return.
I ordered C combination meal. It didn’t look like the picture. The pork fried rice didn’t have any pork. It looked dingy pink. The sweet and sour pork had no vegetables and was mostly breading. The broccoli beef had an interesting sauce and set atop bland noodles. I’ve had a stomachache since. The photo on the right is what I ordered and the one on the left is what I was given.

I ordered for delivery & it was a waste of $50. The egg rolls were burned & the filling was not good at all. There was no sauce at all with my potstickers which again the filling was not good. I ordered vegetable bean sprouts chow mein & there were no other veggies nor any soy sauce packets and was very blah. And same with the beef & noodle dish absolutely no sauce packets and was very bland. I never leave bad reviews really I don’t, this may be my first one. But save your money.
I had always been a fan of the previous Hong Kong restaurant so I was delighted to find out that the restaurant opened with new management and a fresh new menu. Was excited to try it but when I walked in the person behind the counter was more occupied playing on his phone, didn't even ask us if we were eating in or taking out like every other restaurant, and didn't motion to hand us the menu until I went to go grab the paper menu they had at the counter. I ordered the lotus root stir fry with Chinese sausage, lotus leaf fried rice with Chinese sausage, and the shrimp rice noodles. The lotus root stir fry tasted purely like msg and salt and the shrimp rice noodles tasted like soap sometimes. I never got the lotus leaf fried rice even after being approached if I was okay if they can replace the meat with just more Chinese sausage which I agreed to. Instead of telling us that the food will be late or just giving us the fried rice, the same person behind the counter (who was also my server) came over and placed down our bill and never asked me if we even got everything and it felt like he wanted me to leave. Checking the bill, I was charged still for the lotus leaf fried rice even though I never got it and I even asked about it twice but never got it. Plus it was a hassle to even ask them to remove it because with the horrible server and one of the chefs coming out and coughing aggressively in his hands in the hallway, I was no longer in the mood to eat.

Don’t let the pretty looks of this restaurant fool you as it did me. Not only did this restaurant consistently make at least one family member sick THE NIGHT OF EATING their food, but the quality just isn’t there either. Somehow the chow main is constantly crunchy and greasy and the fried rice kinda bland(still the best part of the meal). My favorite part about this place is that it isn’t completely overpriced, $15 a plate isn’t the worst I’ve seen. This place would makes a wonderful cafe with great decor and good service, but the food just sets it back for me.
All the dishes tasted the same, only sweet without any other flavor. I ordered the salted fish and chicken fry rice; I found only “ one small piece of salted fish “ ( finally ) in the whole dish. The braised pork belly is not cooked well ( hard and dry ). We are the only customers waiting for food, and the waitress does not even know we ordered three dishes. This is the worst Chinese food I have had. I definitely do not recommend it.
