Charming restaurant

Really great food and nice ambiance. Not extremely cheap but definitely worth it. Everything is very special and extremely delicious. Also perfect for larger groups.

M
Michelle Ruiz

Very romantic ambience! The food was delicious but the portions were smaller than other similar restaurants. The dessert sampler was perfect!

Few things go unnoticed in this place, from the warm reception to the marvelous desserts. They describe themselves as artisans, not cooks, and I think they do fulfill that commitment. Things to try: -lomo -suspiro limeño -pisco sour

G
Gabriel Carvalho

Environment are outstanding! Peruvian food with a high quality. Gaston, famous international chef, is the owner of this restaurant too.

M
Manuel Peña

Everytime that I go to Mexico, I always try to hit this place, is one of the best restaurants with the real pisco sour, so if you are fancy a luxurious meal this is the place for you, totally worth it

Amazing food. The service is overly attentive, and the place is full of pretentious Polanco mamones, but it's worth a visit.

Delicious fresh fish. Ultra comfortable chairs, great blend of flavors.

They have just closed their current restaurant. Opening a new one in Polanco (campos eliseos) in a couple of months

Beautiful restaurant with classy but slow service. Had to wave down the servers multiple times to get attention. Food was fantastic

Excellent Peruvian cuisine !

Modern feel with a warm ambiance serving Peruvian cuisine. Delicious ceviche with multiple options, many traditional tasty Peruvian mains and the desserts had a twist which made them unique. Attentive service. Loved the little touches such as the bread trolley and the delicious after dinner petite four.

Though my experience here has always been good, there is always one thing that leaves me wanting each time- The service. It is SLOOOOOOOOOW. If you're wanting a quick business dinner, it would not be recommended. Dinner and special occasions perhaps. Although I feel all their wait staff need a FULL education what their restaurant is really about to sell and execute the images & standard carried across all Astrid & Gaston restaurants.

The place and location are perfect!! The food was delicious, I tried all of the dishes that we ordered and all of them were outstanding in flavour and presentation. The service was alright, they took an incorrect order and moreover they were arguing with us that we didn´t order what we did, finally they changed the plate and they brought the correct order after 20 min, Apart from the service I recommend you to try it!!

Magnificent food, mostly Peruvian/Mexican food with a little international twist. A personal favourite is the "Cochinillo de Tres Semanas", if you like pork that's your choice. The dessert selection is awesome! Also great attention but only one thing, sometimes the waiters kinda loose their tables and you begin with one waiter and end up with another.

Nice restaurant. For those Peruvian food lovers this place may not exceed your expectations, however it is a nice experience being at Polanco and have the opportunity to be on one of the iconic places of the Peru recognized food.

Very good Peruvian food. Really enjoyed the Arroz Chaufa and the ceviche. Good atmosphere and good space. The service is great too.

Super food. Waiters are nice but seriously need training, leadership and shift managers. But always worth coming here when in town.

S
Santiago Cardona

Nice Peruvian food. Not as good as the one in Lima though!

A
Alfonso Rivera (Cryptic)

La comida es muy buena, sin embargo el servicio fue muy tardado (más de 1hr en recibir los platos principales), el pisco sour muy recomendable.

N

Not the same Astrid &gaston as its in Lima ...food is not the same.but was ok!

Place is pricey so you expect that the service and food will be on par. Not to mention that this place has a good reputation overall. Good Food- Horrible Service. Food exceeded expectacions. When I went they didn't have half the dishes presented on the menu. Still what we got was more than amazing. Good selection of wines and a lovely athmosphere. 4 stars only, because service was horrid and slow. We often had to hunt for the waiters to take our orders or get us more wine. To get the check it took yet another year. Good thing the food and wine had us in a good mood. Any other time we would be more than irritated. Mind you, we also had reservations and they didn't have a table ready when we got there.

Great food although it took too long to be served (appetizers). The waiters were not taking good care of the customers. I would've expected better attention in relation to the prize.

- The good: Exquisite entrees It was on my corporate credit card ($$$$) - The bad: ALL THE REST The fine cuisine level is limited to the first course (entrees). Should have been 2 stars but because of the entrees gave them a 3. The cuisine part is limited to the first course. Every dish was exquisite. It is down hill from there... Main courses are based on wok, rice and pasta (eeh). So I went for the "star dish" (475 pesos) - the "three week old pork", with the highest expectations for a soft suckling - the star dish of a $$$$ restaurant. What I got was an overcooked hard on the outside tough on the inside piece of pork - I've eaten better at an "open air; on the road barbacoa". So, going for the deserts: Very plain - nothing out of the ordinary. I went for the "lemon lemon lemon ". In fine restaurants such as (what this is supposed to be) there is always a desert with a twist of bitter sweet to sooth the strong tastes of the meal. Again - the dismay. How could you miss on something that should be so simple? I was served a tall glass filled with layers of "sweet, more sweet, and even more". There was so much sugar (like the deserts you made as a kid watching those tv shows "cooking for chikdren") that you ask yourself- "where is the lemon from the "lemon lemon lemon??? ". The glass was tall, so to enjoy the mix of flavors from the layers you need to dig [very] deep. Try doing that with a soup spoon which was served with the desert. As "the last straw", after filling up on the "sugar sugar sugar" (which I couldn't bring myself to finish, as to avoid getting diabetes), They bring us "on the house" cookies and sweets.... W H A T??? NOW YOU TELL ME??? Couldn't bring myself even to try. Dismay...

Overrated and overpriced. Nothing impressive! Great service.

I was recently in Mexico spending the Thnaksgiving holiday with my family, we went to dinner at your restaurant on 11/23. We were a party of 6. The waiter brought out the incorrect meal for one of the dinner guests, and then said it would take roughly 30 minutes for his meal to come out- which it did. The food in my honest oppinion, was poor at best, I simply did not understand how in god's name it was voted among the top best restaurants in the word. To make matters worse the food is already expensive but on top of that they were trying to over charge us with drinks we never ordered. The cherry on the cake was the fact that I got SEVERE food poisoning from your ceviche and fish entre. I have been ill for 3 days. Over all from teh food to the service to everything, I would say I had a terrible experience, and BELIEVE me I have made sure to tell everyone in mexico of the poor experience I had. save your money here are far better places to dine.

Not so great food... Took forever to bring our food, waiters were absent.

M
Maria Guadalupe Miranda N (MGMN)

Took an hour to bring our main, we ordered dessert and after half an hour had not received it. We asked for the dessert to be cancel and the check brought, and after 10 minutes they brought dessert. We asked them to take it away and bring the bill as we were in a hurry, they took 20 minutes to bring it. We were close to just walking out. The table next to us walked out after waiting for their main courses for a ridiculously long time. Never coming back.

Absolutely awful place. Food was slow. Missing proteins from multiple orders. We mentioned the mistake and nearly 30 minutes go by before correcting order. We waited over an hour for our check and had to request it twice, both times from the manager. The manager was awful and rather ignore our table then fix the mistakes, not even an appolgy. Do not go here! You'd have better service at McDonald's.

J
Jimena Sweeley

It all started well enough, we got seated right away and then the wait began. We got cocktails right away but no menus. We had to ask for water a few times, once we got our bread we sat and waited for the butter we asked for for a while. We placed our order and waited for a while for appetizers, the service was pretty bad. After appetizers, we waited and waited and waited for our entrees. When they finally came, the two shrimp and quinoa dishes were completely missing the shrimp, some of us were not hungry anymore, one of the dishes was inedible and the other two were mediocre at best. We complained about the quinoa dish and they replaced it. This time it had shrimp, but they were disgusting, burned and inedible. When we were done with the entrees, they buzzed the table and they ignored us for a very long time until one of us went to find the manager, we wanted to get our check and leave. We didn’t get the check, we got complimentary ice cream instead, the waiter didn’t even know what flavors it was. And then we waited again, for a while, no service. Finally two of us had to go find the manager again and ask for the check, actually followed the manager to the register to make sure we would get our check so we could finally leave. Three hours after we first got there we were able to leave, hungry and dissatisfied. Extremely disappointing!

If you have 4 hours to spare you may want to consider it . Extremely slow and surprisingly unapologetic service. By the time food comes you are so frustrated that not sure how to rate the meal . What a shame

IM PERUVIAN and this is nothing like other GASTON's restaurants they do not have many plates like CHAUFA de pollo PAPA O YUCA A AL HUANCAINA no INKA COLA no CHICHA MORADA the truth the only good thing was the LOMO SALTADO the ceviche was not served how a REAL PERUVIAN CEVICHE i was very dissapointed 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

G

Okay food, but real problems with the waiting staff, the worst that I have seen anywhere. Definitely recommend avoiding this place just to avoid being subjected to the humiliating experience at the hands of a very snooty waiting staff.

M
Miguel Lara (Mike Lara)

The worst service I ever experienced. Food was ok but definately not worthed the price
