Visiting from out of state and we saw this restaurant was close to our hotel and we all agreed- We're in Miami!! 'When in Rome'...eat local fare. Cuban food was at the top of our list. We (10 of us) were looking and we saw it wasn't far from our hotel, so said hey, why not? It's in a strip mall. Parking was cool, easy. I'm ADA and accessibility was good. A cute place inside. We were sat immediately. Not very busy for a Friday, but they should be. The service was great. Drinks filled often. The FOOD!? OmGOODNESS! Delicious! I tasted a bite from all my friends and everything was so yummy! I couldn't decide so I got the Cuban Sampler platter as a meal so I could get a taste of all the things. Dude. So freaking GOOD! Croquettes... Tamales... THIS STUFFED POTATO (THAT WAS FREAKING INSANELY DELICIOUS and I've literally thought about it since)... steak, pork. It was a lot and I shared. It was so good and I will definitely stop by next time I'm in town! Wish them nothing but success!
Fantastic Special Cuban and fries! Best Cuban I’ve ever had! Even better than Columbia in Tampa!! Fries were hot, crispy, perfection! Service was amazing!!
I visit this restaurant every time I visit Miami. The food is very tasty and the customer service is outstanding. On this visit I ordered the Cuban Creole Platter. You could easily share this with another person. The portion was very large. I highly recommend this place.
The steak sandwich didn’t have flavor, the service is still great. Been coming for over 20 years.
Recommended by our hotel as it was walking distance away. I had the pork & rice, and it was delightful. Portion sizes were very generous. My wife got the Cuban sandwich and said it was very good. Our waiter was extremely helpful and polite.
This was my first experience with Cuban food and it did not disappoint! Our server was prompt and attentive. The food was great from appetizer platter to entrée. The restaurant is casual so it was fairly quiet with a pleasant volume on music and chatter. We were just passing through on our way to a cruise but they made us feel right at home! When we come back through Miami we'll definitely stop through again.
First time experiencing Cuban food. No better place outside of Cuba than Miami. Neat little place. It could have been that I wasn't expecting much from a restaurant in a strip mall. Glad we rolled the dice here. Prices weren't bad for this part of Miami and the portions were very generous. The server was very helpful and patient with our many questions about the menu. My only suggestion is to eat here when you have plenty of time. The meal took longer than expected to come out.
Had time to kill between the cruise and the airport and thought we'd try Cuban. Someone on Reddit recommended this and I would 100% recommend it as well. Food was tasty, staff was super attentive and friendly. Tried Mofongo for the first time. Ordered it w/shrimp in garlic sauce. Also had Cuban specialty sandwich and garlic bread. Everything was very good.
When I travel, I seek out the hole in the wall joints and this one was recommended twice before I got to my hotel room. Cuban food in Miami is found here! Two nights in a row for dinner, flan on the second night, great service, small and homey feeling.
Wow! I asked the clerk at the DoubleTree to suggest a Cuban Restaurant and she gave me four to choose from. After a bit more conversation I choose Casa Juan. And not far from the hotel. Was it ever the right choice. With the help from my fantastic server I order Puerco Asado...and it was the best pork I have ever had. The onions were an integral part of the dish and I loved the Fried Pork Rind on top. When I struggled to choose between sweet plantains and green plantains he brought me one of each. I preferred the sweet just a bit more. Then I ordered one of my favorite desserts, Flan. This had a twist- a coconut topping (I chose) served with plenty of Carmel sauce and topped off with two dollops of whipped cream. The atmosphere is basic but the food is wonderful. And I thought very reasonable, if not inexpensive. I could have easily split the Asado dish and been happily full! While pictures tell a lot, for the full effect you have got to smell and taste this food. You’ll be glad you did.

Was in the area working and was craving a heavy lunch since I fast in the AM. Saw the menu from outside and they ahd Lamb as a special for $17.95 during lunch hours, but goes up to $23.95 for dinner. Really good service. Had a cup of chicken soup to start with that was in included. Really good 🐔 soup. Gonna come back for that alone. Then the Lamb came with Potatoes and Tostones. Huge plate. Its was in a white wine sauce. Really tasty. Definitely will come ba k just for this Lamb special again.
This was a great dining experience. They have the trifecta: service, food, atmosphere. Our Waiter’s name was Jose. He knew the menu and gave us great advice on steak. This was a great place to have a delicious lunch.
The food was so amazing. The garlic bread had the perfect crust and just melted in your mouth.
Looks like an older classic style restaurant. The breakfast was very good service was super fast. And the coffee was nice and strong
I went here and ordered the mahi mahi plate which came with 2 sides. The beans and the plantains. The menu has other options for sides. But the plate is fairly plain which is good in some cases. The menu has alot of options for entrees. This is a good cuban restaurant in the area. The prices are very good and the food is good to. overall this is a good value for the price. I do recommend
Highly recommended. Very nice decor, quick service, courteous, knowledgeable wait staff. We had chicken soup( very generous portion). We split the excellent Cuban Sandwich and we still took left overs home. The fried plantain chips were excellent.
The BEST chicken we have ever had!!
Service was phenominal! Food was delicious! A lot of times when I go places alone, I feel like I don't get the best service. The servers seem irritated. That WASNT my experience today! When in Miami I will defently return here. Also their bathroom is very clean. They have is sink located in the accessible stall which I think is awesome and the entire restroom smells really good.
Wait staff are exceptionally friendly, polite, & attentive, food is great, and playlist is 80s music :)
We were looking for a quick bite near our hotel and saw this place on Google maps. Turned out to be a great find! Food and service were excellent, very extensive menu, prices quite reasonable, and the portions were huge - we had enough leftovers for lunch the next day!
Carlos was exceptionally professional, friendly, nice and proffered great service. The food was good with the exception of the vegetables they were somewhat cold. Had to ask to reheat them. Price is good. I have a buddy who goes there often and I can now see why.
We had the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and the Cuban combo dish. The food was absolutely delicious! Perfection! Pilar was our waitress and she was able to answer our questions. Very sweet and friendly. The entire wait staff was very helpful and friendly. We are from SC and going on a cruise tomorrow, we would definitely go back to Casa Juan if we get the opportunity. There was a choice between the Italian place 3 doors from Casa Juan, I am so happy we chose Casa Juan! Must try!!
Wow, this place is AMAZING and authentic!!! There are so many options there is definitely something here for every pallet, the mofongo was superrrr fresh and smooth. Very tasty. My husband keeps wanting to come back here!! Fresh, delicious and authentic food. Definitely stop here if you are considering it cause you're nearby and hungry!
Lots of food and very delicious for reasonable price. Very relaxing atmosphere.
Nearly every item on the menu is delightful, offering generous portions, impeccable seasoning, freshly squeezed juices, and exquisite desserts.
Great place to eat. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. Definitely go eat here again.
In town before a cruise and was looking for a a specific meal and found it at Casa Juan Restaurant. I enjoyed a simple and homey Cuban meal of Picadillo, yellow rice and black beans. It’s very likely I was the only non-local in the place and is exactly the kind of place I like. A great way to start a trip.
Some absolutely delicious sandwiches. We tipped our waiter $110 because he was just the absolute best, friendliest guy
The young lady that was there last night act like she didn't want to be there .was pre occupied with some other people that were there last night besides that the tacos were phenomenal me and my granddaughter love the our tacos she had the beef tacos and I had the shrimp tropical tacos they were wonderful
A favorite breakfast spot. Nice size portions and the coffee is incredible.
We went here on a rainy afternoon for a kick of caffeine and we really enjoyed their Cuban coffee and milk flan here and we can't wait to go back to try their mains! The service was also really quick despite some large groups that were there as well. The restaurant is dim for my liking but if that's something you don't mind, then all is good. 👍🏻
The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Can't wait to come back to the area to go again.
Excellent paella (and I just got back from Madrid Spain) and awesome seafood stew. If you’re staying at Hampton Inn (across the street front desk will give you 10%off voucher) all in all a good place to eat and telex.
We walked to Casa Juan from a nearby hotel. It was conveniently located, very clean interior and very attentive service! Aside from that the food was amazing! We have had authentic Cuban food outside of Florida but this was definitely very fresh and authentic! We would love to come back! Pictured is the Ropa Vieja with maduros and frijoles negros
Ada was amazing she helped me decide what I wanted! My cravings wanted everything! Food was delicious at a great price and huge portion ! I wish i lived closer! I would eat here everyday! All the staff was kind and helpful with my baby! I couldn’t be more grateful and blessed to find such a wonderful place full of family
The food here is exceptional. My wife and I wanted to taste some authentic Cuban cuisine, and this restaurant well exceeded our expectations. My wife got oxtails, and I ordered a 12 oz skirt steak. Our meal was fantastic. Our server, Jose, performed a fantastic job. He was courteous and patient, and he recommended several dishes from the menu.

First time here. Friendly service, huge menu it was hard to decide what to order. Had wings - excellent, fried pork chunks, very good and slow oven roasted lamb shanks. Flavors, temps and portions all good! For sure would come again. Jorge was pleasant and attentive server. For sure would love to come back! Prices mostly low and large portions.
Was in town and was referred to, to this restaurant I had the oxtail with the boiled potato and yellow rice. The food was absolutely phenomenal. I highly recommend this restaurant if you happen to be in the area you will be missing out in An amazing dinner. The service was excellent, and the portions were very large
We had a wonderful date night at this restaurant. The servers gave the best customer service. They paid attention to our needs and were very pleasant. The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was a very cozy, relaxed ,and boutique style . The food was phenomenal and the star of the show was definitely the flan. We will be back for sure!!
The Ropa Vieja was amazing. Highly Recommend ✅✅✅. In addition to Lunch, we ordered take out for dinner. Service was great as well. Really enjoyed the afternoon. “Shout Out” to Carlos!
The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff friendly & courteous. The food was VERY DELICIOUS! You really get a good amount of food for the very reasonable price you pay.
The food was plentiful and tasted fantastic. Great mojito as well. The waiter took the time to find out what I was looking for and explained each dish I was curious about. As someone who hasn't eaten a lot of Cuban food, that was very appreciated.
I ate Ox tail with moros, sweet plantain and a side of tostones. To drink I chose passion fruit juice and Ada welcomed me with so much kindness it felt like I was visiting my grandmothers house. The food was delicious and the oxtail portion was generous. I was very surprised with the tostones freshness (is very unlike in the USA nowadays) I used come to this place many years ago and I’m very pleased that the quality is intact. I will probably make excuses to come to this area very soon to eat here again.
We have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years for breakfast. Carlos is our favorite waiter he walks the extra mile to serve you. In general all the employees are very nice and the food is great. Best cafe cubano!
We were in Miami for a cruise and this restaurant was across the street, close to the Hampton Inn. Reviews were favorable so we dined in. The portions were hefty as mentioned, definitely shareable. Favorites were the Oxtail and Swai with grilled shrimp, delicious. Drank some Cuban beers and received excellent service. So glad we found this restaurant and definitely recommend!

Excellent service. The best cafe con leche I've had in ages. I'm sad I don't live closer - I'd be here every day.

Excellent food, great service. The fish was delicious and you have to try it with garlic oil super delicious. Waiter service was great. I give it a 5 star satisfaction.

The Cuban was large and delicious! The Mohitos were top notch. Waitstaff was helpful and friendly. Finish your meal with espresso and flan! Fantastic. What a pleasant surprise for my 14 hour layover in Miami. Please give it try.
A nice and cozy restaurant in a small plaza. Good Cuban good, very reasonable price with mediocre service.
We have been here several times, each time we grab a Cuban sandwich and try something new. Today we grabbed a Cuban and tried the Cuban sampler. Overall it was good, lots of fried food and the tamale could have used some more meat. There are several hotels near by and I suggest grabbing a Cuban sandwich at the to go window. Wile you are there it's a local tradition for us to grab some scratchers from the window as well. You will see many locals at the small tables out front with scratchers and my sister won $100 on a lucky scratcher. Overall a great place to grab a Sammy!

Variety of meals including pork, chicken and fish. Always busy they have a good service 10-15 minute wait after you place your order. It is a Cuban place they have fresh jiuce, food portions are very good for the price, I had the ropa vieja it was Ok it comes with 2 sides, i would go back if I'm in the area, their sweet plantains are very good and the plantain cups stuffed with shrimp is good. Standard lunch place.
Food was very good. The menu lacks descriptions. For example, it say "cocktails" but doesn't list what cocktails they have. When I asked the server for more details, there was a language barrier.
Very nice Cuban restaurant found open on Christmas day when we were trying to find a place to dine in. José was very helpful to suggest us the dishes. The beef stew was amazing, the boneless grilled chicken was good too. The pork was not so good though. Loved the Pina colada, in my opinion the best one I had. Overall nice experience.

I visited here alone for the first time. I was staying at a hotel nearby and was looking for a place to eat. I couldn’t get the feel for the entire atmosphere, since I was seated in a two seater table next to the bar which was divided from the main dining room. I didn’t feel extremely excites about the seating and the atmosphere I got, thus the 2 stars. Service was good, but when I asked for a box to go and the check, I didn’t get the check. I had to ask again for the check. There is nothing worst than having to wait for the check, when you are ready to go. Food, I never had a Mofongo, so I asked about it and sounded good so I ordered the Mofongo with Skirt Steak. It was not bad, but it was not the best Cuban food experience I’ve had either. I wouldn’t order it again. They serve fresh squeezed Orange juice. I haven’t been to the Miami area for a long time nor on the mainland, USA. However this was my first experience at a restaurant in the United States that charged different prices for cash versus credit card. I’m very used to paying credit card fees of 1 to 3% overseas at some places or at place of business within the United States.. I believe the credit card fee was approximately 4.5%. I probably won’t not return here, but I think I have accomplished two things. I am very full and I have done what was meant to be, “Update their menu on Google Maps photos.”
I had the mofongo go with shrimp in garlic sauce. The mofongo was pretty good but the shrimp had no taste and the sauce just ok. It was a good size portion.

Think we ordered the wrong dishes for us as we didn't enjoy it at all. Portions were large but not to our taste. Worst part was paying $7 for a bottle of Budweiser therefore we have to give it a low review. The staff was wonderful though.
While the quality and taste of the food was slightly above average, the service was certainly below average. Two of our three orders were incorrect - since we believe in not wasting food, we accepted them and got a shrug from the waitstaff that still didn't seem to care if the order was right or not.
My husband and I have visited Casa Juan several times in the past and have always enjoyed excellent food and service. Unfortunately, today’s experience fell far short of expectations. The issues began right from the beverage order. I requested a soda with no ice, but it was served with ice. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer and our main courses. However, when the appetizer arrived, I was convinced we had been served burnt onion rings instead of calamari. The dish included only eight rings, a side of fries, and what seemed to be ketchup mixed with mayo. The calamari was so overcooked that I couldn’t bite through it and had to use a knife to cut it. Our main courses were fine, but several other issues arose. We never received the complimentary garlic bread, and our order of sweet plantains never arrived. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty—with only three tables occupied during our visit—the service was severely lacking. We had to flag down the hostess just to locate our waitress, who never once checked in to see if we needed anything or to ask how our meals were. When the check arrived, we were charged for the missing sweet plantains and had to request they be removed from the bill. Overall, the lack of attention to detail and subpar service made for a disappointing dining experience. Given this, I don’t believe we’ll be returning to Casa Juan anytime

Went there for lunch waited for an hour for the food. Never arrived "excuse we are really backed up. We burn your food and needed to re do another order" Terrible service. Never going back!!!
We ordered right away. Server didn't know the difference between Bud light and no alcohol beer. We then waited and watched every other table get their food, even those that arrived long after us, while we sat there for a full hour. Never saw our waiter again. Finally stopped another server to ask where our food was. She brought it out in another 5-10 minutes and it was cold. Our water glasses were empty and no more brought out. Had to beg for the bill so we could pay and leave. I haven't had service this bad in years. The waiter was skilled at going past without making any eye contact and no one came and asked how our food was. It was not great.
Terrible food. Ordered take out just now, picked up within 20.minutes as they said food tastes old and reheated. Ordered a shredded chicken what is suppose to be Vaca frita . They must have gotten two bone in chicken thighs and cut up and refried. Super dry taste old has pieces of bone etc terrible awful no taste since it is old and refried. Their congri rice super dry old as well . Plantain sweet are refried and looks like package frozen ones the chicken soup was all liquid and lots of potatoes no taste . Their previous reviews must have been old, I can tell you 60 plus dollars are wasted throwing out will never order was first time went by old reviews terrible food. We had to return after leaving to get the soup they didn't pack with order. Sad sad they shouldn't pack this food to people.
I have been going there for years, my mother and father before me. I recently discovered that the ladies that serve there are not allowed to keep their tips. I feel so bad for them, this has prompted me to consider my doing business with this establishment.
Forgot my wife and daughter sides. Took forever to get drinks and Mojitos were made very poorly. Chinichurri sauce was disgusting with 99% garlic taste. They served my vegetable cold and werr frozen bagged vegetables. I RARELY give a 1 star but this was very upsetting as we had 6 people. Steal was cooked well but doesn't matter when you smother it with what you think is Chimichurri cause and it's the equivalent to biting into a piece of garlic.
