We found this gem of a cafe when visiting Poynton. The food is exceptional and plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. The cafe is perfect for brunch, lunch, cakes and coffee. We really enjoyed the Rainbow Brushetta and New Yorker Focaccia, which not only tasted great but was well presented. The staff are really friendly and provided efficient service. We will definitely be making return visits.

Had brunch here today. I'm a foodie and a massive canivore, but love good vegetarian dishes. Ive eaten veggie food around the globe. Today I ordered from the Fig n Fennel a 'warm halloumi grill'. This dish was absolutely fantastic, amazing. Only twice previously have I had veggie food as good as this, in Berlin and Toronto at top notch venues. Absolutely superb. This chef knows how to cook!

We absolutely loved the food at the Fig and Fennel. It was so fresh and exciting. Mum was able to find gluten free options, and settled on a baked avocado, which she really enjoyed. I had the halloumi mixed grill, which was divine! There was a bit of a wait for the food, but it was obviously all made from fresh, so that's only to be expected. We will certainly be venturing there again to try out more options 😊

Stunning place ran by a top bloke, very welcomed to know we had travelled from failsworth ..second visit..third already planned. So far the veggie brekkie is my fave but the meat brunch grill is also excellent.

I love this place! I go at least once a week for my lunch, I've tried loads of things on the menu and they've all been lovely. Staff are always polite and friendly. Also our family dogs drag us across the street to come here, if dogs could write google reviews I know it would be 5 star - highly recommend!

One of our fav Sunday morning places, we take the dog and the kid to Poynton Poole for a walk then head to Fig & Fennel. They have dog friendly seating so you can sit indoors. The food is great, my son has the granola, fruit, nuts & yogurt. Mixing it all together keeps him entertained. The staff are lovely. Great place all round.

The service here is so friendly! They make you feel special. Dog friendly (they give the dogs a sausage which is a real treat) lovely coffee and great menu. Outdoor seating area is being renovated... love it x

My husband and I often have brunch or lunch at Fig&Fennel and we love the food there. When deciding where to have my 30th birthday party a few people mentioned that Fig&Fennel do private events in the evening - wow wow wow! Lee was great! The food was absolutely fantastic - all my guests commented on the huge variety of food on the night and how delicious it all was. I would not hesitate on having another event with Lee and staff at Fig&Fennel and can't wait to go back for brunch soon! Thank you.

Lovely setting and atmosphere, super friendly and helpful staff, child/baby-friendly. Had poached eggs and salmon on sourdough from the brunch menu (which had lots of interesting dishes, not just run of the mill). Delicious food! Highly recommended

We went for a family breakfast it was beautiful. I had French crumpets, couldn't recommend enough. The staff were really friendly and nice. They were really good with our baby too. The coffee was brilliant too.

Great freshly prepared food. Very wide choice of vegan, veggie and meat dishes. Different cake choices each day. Large variety of tea and infusions. Dogs welcome. Outside eating, when weather permits.

We've made the most of takeaway bacon butties and 'builders' barms' over the last couple of weekends for us and our kitchen fitter and they are awesome! Quality bread and fillings with no scrimping. The staff are lovely and I can see why it's always busy. We look forward to trying more of the menu in the future.

Beautiful cafe, Got two Bacon Barms and they were delicious. Will definitely go again. I’ve never ever paid £12 for 2 Bacon Barms before ordering here… but they were nice :)

This place is an absolute gem! The staff are lovely and the food is fresh and delicious on each visit. They also very helpful and accommodating with my gluten-free partner. Our dog loves it here also!

Had an excellent cup of coffee in restaurant on Friday morning while waiting for my mum' to pick me up to go shopping. I would recommend the fig and fennel to anyone who fancy a breakfast lunch or just to have an incredible cup of coffee or hot chocolate. Also great selection of cakes and cold drinks the staff are always willing to go out of their way with the excellent customer service.

Excellent Poyton was very busy today do we nipped out of Poyton and went to the Fig and Fennel. My friend and I had a cup of tea, while we waited my Hummus which was delicious with bread and veg crudités and my friend had a Skinny Chicken Brioche. Nicely presented my friends meal was hot and we had time for a good chat. The restaurant and toilets where clean and tidy. Hand sanitizer on all the tables and there was good ventilation you could feel a breeze moving through the restaurant. Prices reasonable and for me a nice menu. We agreed to go back when we meet up again.

Areal hidden gem. Off the beaten track but well worth finding. Exceptional food and service. I will certainly be visiting again on my next trip to Poynton. Try the mixed meat grill. Outstanding.

When to take a friend for coffee today was given excellent customer service. Also food is excellent and very well prepared. Nice to see a diverse and exciting range of cakes and drinks both alcohol and tea and coffee. Keep up the good work and maybe have an themed evening one time. Just tried out their new tapas evening menu. Lovely atmosphere with all the candles and lights. Food was amazing and felt very authentic, not your usual tapas and so much choice. Lots of choice for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters. The chef was very helpful and explained all the varied dishes. I dont like spice and he amended dishes to cater for my taste. Will be back and wish them well in their new venture

I visited yesterday and was looking for a destination half way between my home city and my sons home. Poynton seemed to fit the bill and looking at the various places to eat I chose Fig and Fennel. It is a great cafe with a very friendly relaxed atmosphere. It's well decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff are young, very friendly and helpful. They allow in dogs and have several especially designated tables which means customers, who are not keen, can get away from pets. My dog also received a sausage of her own. I'm told local dogs drag their owners in for more of these yummy treats. We had lunch here after a walk along the canal ( not too far away ) there is a good choice of food and I had difficulty deciding 😀 but opted for the burger. It was delicious 😋 Two delicious burgers between a brioche bun, well cooked onions, melted cheese and a lightly spiced pickle, with salad. A side order of chips. The food was well presented and hot. My son opted for the same but there were some other delicious options such as flatbread with goats cheese beetroot and salads, They specialise in Mediterranean and locally sourced foods and have a fennel sausage. All in all a great relaxed feel and good food. No wonder many of the locals were using this place....

Absolutely fabulous food, fresh and tasty with interesting menu options, including for my gluten-free mum. She was made up with her baked avocado and even complimented the chef (that doesn't happen often - she's shy like that)! A bit of a wait, so not to go in in a hurry, but well worth it! We will certainly be returning.

What a fantastic find this was, highly recommended. Random choice to eat lunch here after a walk at Jackson's Brickworks. Had the veggie sharing platter and was blown away by the food quality, presentation, huge portions and value for money. I can only assume they have a chef from a top notch restaurant in the kitchen. Will definitely be back.

I always enjoy a visit here, be it for a quick cake and a hot chocolate, or to sit in for a meal. All the food and drinks I've tried here are delicious, with particular mention of the vegan chorizo, which is by far the best I have ever come across!

What a beautiful experience. Perfect venue for a catch up with friends or family. From the warm welcome you get as soon as you walk in the door, to the food, to the amazing service, everything is perfect.

Lovely relaxed morning having coffee and brunch at the Fig & Fennel in Chapel en le Frith. Lovely coffee, delicious brekkie of avocado, roast tomatoes and perfectly poached eggs on gluten free toast. Yummy. Lovely selection of cakes for my friend to choose from. A nice gf cake for me would have rounded everything off nicely but there was only the usual prepackaged bars on offer. More home made gf cake options pretty please 🙏🏼🍰

Enjoyed the most delicious brunch here today, chef quite new and didn’t fail to impress. The Avocado toast was delicious with just the right amount of chilli in, poached egg cooked to perfection and generous portion, beautifully presented. Fiancé enjoyed the poached egg brunch with bacon, best brunch in poynton he said. Staff so friendly and good atmosphere. So glad it’s back open and the food remains a high standard, highly recommend. Gutted I didn’t take pics of food as too busy tucking in 😁.

¡Mejor que la mayoría de los restaurantes de lujo de la zona! Pedí la parrilla de halloumi y me sirvieron un generoso tazón de productos locales frescos y perfectamente cocinados, con halloumi perfectamente asado y tostadas crujientes, por si acaso. Sabores, condimentos y hierbas excelentes. Ahora que sé que este lugar cocina platos tan únicos y tan bien, sin duda volveré. (Puntos extra por ser un lugar apto para perros).

Un café buenísimo, un desayuno delicioso con aguacate, tomates asados y huevos poché perfectos sobre tostadas sin gluten. ¡Delicioso! Una selección de pasteles encantadora para mi amiga. Un buen pastel sin gluten para mí habría sido el broche de oro, pero solo ofrecían las típicas barritas precocinadas. ¡Más opciones de pasteles caseros sin gluten, por favor! 🙏🏼🍰

We had brunch on a Saturday. To our surprise it was fairly quiet. Our order was taken promptly. Avocado on toast and halloumi brioche were delicious. Only comment would be that the Americano coffee was not very strong. Assuming it was a single shot instead of the usual two in most other outlets.

Our cappuccino's were full of flavour and would highly recommend. Our cooked chicken in a brioche bun was tasty and v enjoyable with fresh lettuce

Had the Greek yoghurt with cinnamon granola, nuts, forest fruits and seeds. Followed by a black, decaffeinated americano. The whole thing was great.

I only had a cake and tea, poor choice in cakes, and my blondie was very hard. The other savoury dishes looked great though, to try next time !

Delicious breakfast, and a free pupperchino and sausage for the dog. Service was a little slow and it took a long time to take our order, but the French crumpets were worth it!

They had a couple of mix ups but it impressed me how they rectified it. I would definitely return and if I lived near would go regularly. A few cyclists outside seemed to enjoy it. Staff really helpful. All the food that I saw served looked really nice. Good coffee shop that!

We enjoyed three lovely cooked breakfasts together with one granola with yogurt and red berries . Everything was fresh and beautifully presented.Staff are still being trained , but they were polite and welcoming. We will definitely be returning.

The goats cheese salad and cajun chicken wrap were absolutely delicious and great coffee but it's a pity we had to wait nearly an hour for the food. It was busy and noisy but the staff were friendly and very accommodating trying to find us a quiet table. We would hesitate to go back due to the long wait for food.

Comimos un brunch un sábado. Para nuestra sorpresa, estaba bastante tranquilo. Nos tomaron el pedido enseguida. El aguacate sobre tostada y el brioche de halloumi estaban deliciosos. El único comentario sería que el café americano no estaba muy fuerte. Suponiendo que fuera una sola dosis en lugar de las dos habituales en la mayoría de los otros establecimientos.

Everyone is so nice here it is worth the visit. Sorry to report poached eggs came more hard-boiled and coffee isn't great especially at the price.

Iced coffee was lovely so was the chips. However the steak sandwich wasn’t great there was barely any steak on it. Would rather pay more for more filling. There was more salad and onions than steak.

Food good, nice cup of coffee, service poor, very long wait for coffee, and food, and no second cup of coffee, they forgot. Half a dozen dogs in there, with some of them constantly barking. First and last time in there, soz

No complaints about the food, which was good, however wait time for both drinks and food was unacceptably long. Cafe was not busy, about 3 other tables inside, similar outside. It took over 15 minutes for a flat white and a tea to be made. It took a further 10minutes for a team member to come back to take our food order. Once taken, it took 40minutes for 3 sandwiches to be made. At no point was a delay communicated, in fact front of house basically ignored all the customers, apart from when someone complained. Back of house did come and apologise after we’d eaten.

Not only did we have a ridiculously long wait for our lunch, it wasn't busy at the time. When our order arrived, they had only brought one portion instead of two. We said that we would share as we couldn't wait another 50 minutes! The paprika chips were unpleasant, not at all like the ones you have elsewhere. We were not offered any money off. We'll put it down to experience and will not be visiting them again.

I recently visited the Fig & Fennel cafe for a quick breakfast, expecting a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, my visit was marred by an alarming discovery - they had mouldy food products and expired milk in use. Upon arriving, I ordered a simple avocado toast and a cappuccino. While waiting for my order, I noticed a musty smell emanating from the kitchen. When my food arrived, I was immediately put off by the slimy, greenish-black growth on my toast. To my horror, the avocado was rancid and mouldy! As I was debating whether to send it back, my cappuccino arrived. The milk looked curdled and curiously lumpy. With an uneasy feeling, I checked the expiration date on the milk carton - it was weeks past its use-by date! I couldn't believe the audacity of serving spoiled dairy products to customers. I promptly brought these issues to the attention of the server. Her lack of concern and dismissive attitude only added to my frustration. No apologies or effort was made to rectify the situation. It was clear that food safety and quality control were not a priority at Fig & Fennel. I left the cafe without consuming my order, thoroughly appalled and worried about the potential consequences of eating their tainted food. A simple breakfast outing turned into a disturbing revelation about the cafe's shocking lack of standards. In light of this experience, I would strongly advise against dining at Fig & Fennel. Consuming mouldy avocados and expired milk is a serious health risk that no one should have to face. Until they take drastic measures to properly handle and store their ingredients, this cafe is not fit to serve customers. One star from me, and a stern warning to others

Waited 30mins for a coffee that wasn’t even processed when we checked. 3 waiting staff with plenty of empty tables. No excuses really. The food is okay from previous visits but the service is incredibly slow. Only visit if you’ve got hours to spare. We probably won’t bother again.

Hace poco fui al café Fig & Fennel para desayunar rápido, esperando una experiencia agradable. Desafortunadamente, mi visita se vio empañada por un descubrimiento alarmante: tenían productos con moho y leche caducada. Al llegar, pedí una tostada de aguacate y un capuchino. Mientras esperaba, noté un olor a humedad que venía de la cocina. Cuando llegó mi comida, me dio asco la capa viscosa de color verde negruzco que cubría la tostada. ¡Para mi horror, el aguacate estaba rancio y con moho! Mientras dudaba si devolverlo, llegó mi capuchino. La leche parecía cortada y con grumos extraños. Con un mal presentimiento, revisé la fecha de caducidad del envase: ¡estaba caducada desde hacía semanas! No podía creer la osadía de servir productos lácteos en mal estado. Inmediatamente le comenté estos problemas a la camarera. Su falta de interés y su actitud indiferente solo aumentaron mi frustración. No se ofrecieron disculpas ni se hizo ningún esfuerzo por rectificar la situación. Era evidente que la seguridad alimentaria y el control de calidad no eran una prioridad en Fig & Fennel. Salí del café sin consumir mi pedido, completamente horrorizada y preocupada por las posibles consecuencias de comer su comida contaminada. Una simple salida a desayunar se convirtió en una revelación alarmante sobre la alarmante falta de estándares del café. A raíz de esta experiencia, desaconsejo encarecidamente comer en Fig & Fennel. Consumir aguacates mohosos y leche caducada supone un grave riesgo para la salud que nadie debería tener que afrontar. Hasta que no tomen medidas drásticas para manipular y almacenar correctamente sus ingredientes, este café no está en condiciones de atender a los clientes. Una estrella de mi parte y una seria advertencia para los demás.
