By far my favorite place to eat in Miami. We come here for breakfast evry time we’re in town. The service is fantastic and the food is phenomenal. The portions are huge. Don’t even get me started with the Cuban coffee. I’m addicted and its the only thing I crave when I’m in Florida.
Fifteen years later and Latin Cafe 2000 still hits exactly the same. I first came here back in 2011, and when I returned to Miami this week it was my very first stop. That should tell you everything. The tortilla con jamón was absolute perfection. Golden on the outside, soft and flavorful inside, with the ham cooked right into every bite. The croquettes were just as good as I remembered. Crispy, creamy, and packed with flavor. You can tell they haven’t cut corners over the years. There’s something special about a place that stays consistent for over a decade. The food, the atmosphere, the comfort of it all. Some restaurants change. This one stayed true. If you’re in Miami and want authentic, no nonsense Cuban food done right, Latin Cafe 2000 is it.
Excellent service and food. Eating outside is a must. So relaxing. Had brunch with steak eggs Benedict and it was tasty and filling. Passion fruit drink is tasty!!! Don't hesitate, eat here!
Great price and great service 👍. I like the salmon main dish with the garlic cream sauce 😋😋😋 One of my best experiences in Miami!
Wow! I’m not sure how I kept driving past this place for years. I was working overnight at Amazon and got off work this morning on the search for a great breakfast and Latin Cafe 2000 delivered! Once I stepped foot into the front doors I was immediately greeted by the hostess and offered to sit at the bar which I declined but they had a nice small table with a booth side chair. I ordered the Americano which comes with two eggs 🍳 I order them over medium and chose Bacon for my meat. It came with two pancakes, Cuban toast and Cuban coffee. I called before I came to make sure they had grits and they didn’t disappoint! The bacon cooked perfectly. The eggs cooked perfectly. The grits so creamy and seasoned nicely with the American cheese I asked for. Coffee was so fresh, hot and authentic. It was so good I had to tell the manager about it. This is the best breakfast I’ve had in a while. Even if you miss the regular breakfast menu that stops at 11:30am they do offer a brunch menu all day. I am definitely going to have to stop back by to try the rest of the menu. I love places that have great food and superior service. Love it love it love it!
We were a party of 12 due to a marriage conference close by so we came here with limited time. Samantha and staff were AMAZING!! Food was delicious, all our orders were correct and the food was served in a timely manner. Thank you Samatha, you are an asset to this restaurant and we will come back with more time. I recommend this place for delicious authentic Latin food.
Sonia C was our server and she was excellent. She gave us recommendations on the food that we're spot on. 4of us and we all liked the food.
I’ve ordered from Latin Cafe 2000 multiple times with Uber eats and they usually have some good deals with buy one get one with really great sandwiches, I’d recommend the Cuban sandwich or grilled chicken sandwich both are amazing options, family friendly options, great prices and even better service.
Excellent food with service to match. Wonderful Cuban vibe. The staff were happy to make recommendations. The flavorful sangria & ice cold draft beer were a refreshing start. We had Filete de Pargo, one with creole sauce & the other lightly coated. Both were delicious, just a touch overcooked. The salad was crisp & fresh. The mashed potatoes was the star of the meal. A "secret ingredient" was the difference. Sorry, they wouldn't disclose what this was. Dessert was churros & Cafe Cubano. A perfect end to a delightful meal. So glad we found this restaurant & will return if we get back to Muami.
This is an obligated stop when i visit Miami. For breakfast , lunch or dinner is amazing. Before i leave Miami to Orlando, i always order a Special cuban sandwich and croquettes with a freshly squeeze orange juice, expresso coffee or a sugar cane juice. Today, I had the Palomilla Steak with Black bean and it was Excellent, like always!! Our server Mayra, was really attentive and corteous.
Cuban style dishes at the Latin Cafe 2000 = really good food! Tasty and generous portions! Appetizer was Bacon Wrapped Shrimp with Avocado. Main course was Grilled Shredded Chicken with Garlic and Onions. Choice of two sides, I chose the Mixed Rice and Beans and Sweet Plantains...delicious! Add some Sangria and you have a great little dinner! Atmosphere is low key yet pleasant. Wallet-friendly prices!
Been going here for years. The food is so yummy and the staff is always super nice. Thank you.
Mom and I enjoyed Latin Cafe's homemade Cuban Food for lunch while staying safe and dining outside. I had the Pollo Asado with my favorite sides- Yucca and maduros- the sweet plantains. My coffee was the best Cafe Con Leche. Mom had to have a milkshake to go with her Churrasco. The restaurant was clean and Covid-safe. We were happy to eat outside because the temperature was perfect and the tables were spaced out for appropriate social distancing. There was inside dining available and everything was super clean.
A must stop if you love & enjoy Cuban food as much as I do!. I highly recommend Latin cafe. Close to the Miami international airport on NW 42th Avenue by le jeune Rd. I usually have the midnight Cuban sub n cafe con leche but they do have a variety of tasty food to pick from. Stop on by great Cuban restaurant and the service is super friendly as well.
Imagine a casual diner that is easy to get seated at and serves up a Cuban menu. Happy I got to enjoy a cafecito and some yummy Cuban food before flying back home. The servers are friendly and very helpful. My plate had large portions and will not break the bank.
Oh my goodness. We had so much fun at this restaurant. We were in Miami and decided to go here based on reviews. We started off with cafe con leche and followed up with their Cuban sampler plate. My husband had their grilled chicken dinner with a cilantro sauce that we added that sauce to everything. Omggg, so so tasty. We ended our night with coconut flan and crème brûlée. Our favs were the grilled chicken, pork tamale, tostones topped with ground beef, coffee and dessert. We ate so much and also had beer and our bill was $63. Our server was such a jolly gal. She was dancing and serving us and so funny. There were a lot of tourists having fun at the outside bar with their pets. Really happy place.
Came here looking for an authentic Cuban experience, and it didn't disappoint. The service was excellent. Food came out quickly, and the steak was cooked perfectly (medium). We ordered the churasco steak with a side of yucca and garden salad. Shrimp ceviche was also excellent, along with the plantain chips.
Great option for Cuban food. Service is friendly and helpful. Associates are always walking in the dine are and asking if everything is going well and If you need anything else. My two favorites are Pan con Bistec and Bistec milanesa, but you can choose for a great variety of choices. My two preferred are tasteful and always delicious. For desert I order order a caramel flan. Atmosphere is cozy with clean tables and comfortable seating. A place where you must go when in Miami.
We went to Latin Cafe from recommendation and also it was close to the hotel where we stayed. We really enjoyed our lunch here. The place is busy from New Year’s Day crowd but the staff was very friendly and quick to have us seated. Our server Rozy was nice and professional. She took our orders and made recommendations. We had ropa vieja, mango citrus salad, Cuban sandwich, Mahi mahi sandwich, and a few other items. The food was fresh and delicious. The salad is fresh with avocado, mango, onion and others with dressing on the side. The sandwiches we ordered were with either chicken or ham, cheese and pickles and are very toasty and tasty. We also ordered flan and crème brûlée for dessert and they were also very good. Overall, we had a great experience with the restaurant and would definitely come back next time we visit Miami. Highly recommend. Location: 875 NW 42nd Ave, Miami, FL 33126
We were visiting for the night and wanted Latin food and the place we looked up was closed and I'm so glad it was because this place was amazing!.. the food was so authentic and delicious! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and our waiter Carlos made us feel welcome the second we walked thru the door!.. He was so attentive to us and went above and beyond to provide us with a great dining experience ! If you're looking for a great place to eat don't miss this one! And ask for Carlos!!!
I ordered a veggie sandwich. It's served warm and I had a side of fries. The food was delicious and the service was great. We sat in the outside patio and enjoyed the weather
Loved it! first, the restaurant is very nice and modern. The bar has a good design and look appealing. The menu is very wide and plenty of food choices. Our server was very attentive. We ordered the 2 for $20, with yuca frita for appetizer, mojo pork with tostones and salad and pork vaca frita with salad and vegetables. Everything was delicious!!! Big portions as well. I highly recommend this restaurant, excellent cuban food, good service, good prices and big portions!
Where’s the 6 star? This place is simply incredible. Cuban food at its finest. We tried the pan con bistec, chicken tacos, croquetas, mozzarella sticks, media noche and empanadas. What really set this place apart was the impeccable service. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, ensuring a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to savor authentic Cuban flavors in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Super close to MIA too. Definitely worth a stop when you’re in the 305.
We were in town overnight and this place was recommended by two people at the hotel we were staying in. They have a nice Happy Hour from 4-8pm. I had a cuban beer and a food item off the Happy Hour Menu. My wife had the daily special. Prices were reasonable, it was fast, service (by Manuel) was excellent. Recommend it!
Visiting miami and craving cuban food i was recomended to this restaurant near from the hotel i am staying. I ordered pork chops with white rice and sweet plantain. And mariquitas as an entree. Everything was delicious. Excellent service as well. I ordered a vaca frita sandwich to go. It was delicious too. Very recommended
This was my first time here. I was in town because I missed my flight. The receptionist at the hotel recommended this spot because their menu was extensive. I enjoyed my time here. They gave sooooo much food. I wanted a good espresso. They brought out some pan cubano....so good with butter. They took my order fast. I was here on Friday morning. I ordered an omelet, which came with café con leche, and some Cuban hash browns. Lots of food. They have a bathroom and outdoor seating.
Flew into Miami for a cruise and stayed at a local hotel. I was craving a Cuban sandwich and found this restaurant. And let me tell you I'm glad I did. First, the server, Zenia was AMAZING!! She was attentive and friendly. Second the cleanliness was really good. Last, the food was really good! We ordered Lobster Bisque which was really yummy, obviously ordered Cuban sandwich and fries! Wishing we could live in the area just for this place. Definitely recommend!!!
I had my first Cuban sandwich here and it was delicious! Our waitress was kind, polite, and attentive. I thought the atmosphere was just ok. We didn’t sit outside but I will next time. The atmosphere out there looked very inviting. If you haven’t tried a Cuban sandwich, especially one from Latin Cafe 2000, you should definitely give it a try!
Top notch food and service. Very cold beer! Started with very good Mariquitas. Had the Palomilla steak and the Churrasco. Both incredibly good. Excellent Flan de Vanilla and Cuban coffee. All topped by superb attention from Jovana. I am definitely coming back to this place when I return to Miami. Highly recommend. Don't miss it.
Sonia was our waitress for the day. She was amazing in every way very attentive always asking if we needed anything else. She conversed with us and made us feel at home in the restaurant. We will be back to the restaurant just because of her
Really enjoyed our meal here, we had had a long and delayed flight and arrived at our hotel hungry, the reception guy recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. Never having eaten at a Cuban restaurant I was impressed with the food quality and flavours, the waitress was lovely and very helpful explaining the menu.
Everything we ate was great! I had the cubano and my wife ordered the Masitas de puerco with black beans/rice. For our appetizer we got chicken empanadas and yuca fritas. Those were both delicious!
Great local latin café with a welcoming atmosphere. The food is fresh, flavorful, and made just right every time. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. Perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, or a quick bite. Definitely a place I’d recommend and come back to again.
Hop into this place to grab a quick bite before our flight and it surprises us! The food is decent, we really liked the shrimp in plantain cup appetizer. The Cuban coffee is amazing! We also liked our entrees. The rice and beans side is yummy! Generous portion and very reasonable price!
This place is phenomenal. The food is DELICIOUS! We came for my sis-in-law birthday startup and Mayra was phenomenal. She is very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. Such a loving, vibrant spirit. She also executed with her Team Members a Happy Birthday song with Tres Leches which my sis says it was amazing. The food is sooooo good, seasoned with love. Highly recommend. It was so good with large quantity that we took some home and ordered TO-GO to take on our trip tomorrow.
This place is amazing!!! Very chill, clean, and a great atmosphere!!! Not sure why it doesn’t have better stars/review. It seems like all the locals go here. The service was amazing! Everyone was very nice and helpful. The food was seriously delicious! Everything had plenty of flavor, not too much seasoning, not bland at all, just perfect! Everything seemed to be fresh or cooked perfectly! Sitting outside with nice music, and amazing weather was a perfect way to spend our evening at the Latin Cafe.
This place was an absolute gem! Make sure to visit whenever you’re in Miami. I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while on a coffee tour. I wasn’t too impressed with the coffee next door, but I’m glad I decided to give this place a try. The food was amazing, and the coffee was excellent! I had a perfectly made Cuban.
My partner and I stopped at this restaurant for dinner. Its concept is similar to a classic American diner, but with Latin vibes and a Latin-inspired menu, which I really liked. The restaurant has a large indoor space, plus an outdoor terrace with many tables. In addition, there’s an open takeaway window on one side, where people can buy Cuban coffee and other small items. We decided to sit inside. The restaurant was very clean, and all the furniture looked to be in great condition. Two waitresses came to take our order - one didn’t speak much English, so the other translated for her. This was totally fine, as both ladies were extremely nice and sweet. The Spanish-speaking waitress was super attentive for the rest of our stay. She was always around, checked on our food and refills a couple of times, and brought the bill right when we asked for it. Great service! The restaurant menu is large and offers a good variety of food - mostly Cuban dishes. We wanted to try a few things, so we ordered four tapas: Beef Empanada + Ham & Cheese Empanada, Croquettes, Yuca Fries and Shrimp Ceviche. All of the food came out at once and pretty fast; we waited only about 10 minutes. The ham croquettes came in four pieces, served with a sauce that had a sweet flavor, somewhat similar to BBQ sauce. We liked the croquettes, and the sauce paired well with them. I had the ham & cheese empanada, and my partner had the beef empanada. We both agreed that the empanadas were tasty. By the way, I originally wanted the beef empanada too, but I asked if it had olives, and since it did, I skipped it, as I don’t like olives. The yuca fries were very nice, and the portion was big! They came with garlic aioli on the side, which was very tasty. Last but not least, the shrimp ceviche was super delicious! Out of all four tapas, it was definitely my favorite. The ceviche had so much flavor! The shrimp were super fresh! The portion was generous; they definitely didn’t skimp on shrimp. It also came with banana chips on the side, which was a great touch. To drink, I ordered watermelon juice, and it was absolutely fantastic - so fresh, flavorful, and tasty! I felt extremely happy drinking it. Our final bill for everything was $41, which I thought was reasonable. I especially want to highlight the $8.99 shrimp ceviche - an amazing deal for a large portion of fresh shrimp! I highly recommend ordering the shrimp ceviche as a starter; you won’t regret it. Overall, the menu prices were very affordable and reasonable. Another plus of this business is that there are plenty of parking spots around the restaurant. But the only downside for me is the location - it’s quite far from Miami center (where I live). The only way for me to get there is by driving, and from Midtown it’s at least a 15-minute drive. Because of the location, this isn’t a place I would visit regularly. Unfortunately! But I definitely wish to return to this place soon and eat there again. And I 100% recommend everyone visit this restaurant at least once. I’m sure you won’t regret it!
If you're seeking a culinary gem in Miami, look no further than Latin Cafe 2000. This restaurant is a true celebration of Latin flavors, with a special focus on Cuban cuisine that hits all the right notes. My recent visit was nothing short of spectacular, and I can confidently say they hit a grand slam! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The setup is beautifully designed, perfectly complementing the lively spirit of the food. The outdoor seating area is a lovely touch, allowing patrons to enjoy their meals while soaking in the Florida sunshine. Now, let’s talk about the food – it was phenomenal! Every dish we sampled was a testament to authentic Latin cooking, bursting with rich flavors and fresh ingredients. The menu offers a delightful array of options, and I could see why so many customers were raving about their experiences. It truly felt like a taste of home cooking, with familiar flavors that evoke warm memories. Our waitress, Ailed, was a standout! Her friendly demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu made our dining experience even more enjoyable. She was quick to recommend her favorites, and her enthusiasm for the food was infectious. The service was impressively fast, ensuring we never had to wait long for our delicious dishes. To top it all off, the coffee was the perfect closing note to our meal. The coffee bar station is a wonderful addition, offering a variety of brews that truly embody the essence of Cuban coffee culture. Overall, Latin Cafe 2000 is a must-visit for anyone in Miami. The combination of phenomenal Latin food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere creates an unforgettable dining experience. I left with a full stomach and a smile, already planning my next visit!
Just one thing, can we get Arroz con Pollo in- bone. Cannot get used to chicken squares. Great place and people!!!
Good as usual. Ropa vieja was slightly watery, white rice was dry, fish fillet al ajillo was amazing as was the garlic sauce. Moros were great.
I don't speak Spanish well so I asked for a recommendation . The meal was a shredded beef with pickled onions of which I enjoyed thoroughly the onions that is, it the shredded beef was over cooked and dry not so enjoyable. The sides were great black beans and rice that were perfectly cooked. The service and restaurant were great. I wish them well.
English below. Great food, you don’t see ropa vieja empanadas everywhere and they’re delicious here, croquetas are huge and tasty and the coffee is great the cortadito cup was small though. I ordered chicharrón at first I was impressed with the large portion but I realized it’s just pork rinds. Normally if you order chicharrón you get the meat attached not here. The lines were dry too. I did go back and ask why it had no meat and they explained that on their menu it’s different. They politely gave me a refund and next time I’ll try their masitas de cerdo (pork chunks) to see if that’s what I was looking for. Overall not bad this is a very well known gem in Miami. 4 stars cause I’ve been here before and the food and service is good. This experience just threw me off a bit.
The staff was very friendly, coffee was great. The airport is nearby so it's a little loud for that if you sir outside, which we did.
Stopped by Cafe Latin 2000 for a Cuban coffee and it was excellent—rich, strong, and exactly what you’d expect from a good Cuban café. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the coffee. When I said hello to the cashier, she didn’t respond or smile, which made the interaction feel unwelcoming. Meanwhile, another staff member nearby seemed much more friendly with other customers. Maybe it was just an off moment, but first impressions matter. In a city known for hospitality, a simple smile goes a long way.
Nice local place, a bit pricey for the items we took, but overall nice quick stop
Tldr; All dishes were too salty. Placed an order here for pickup after seeing how many reviews they had, and was really excited for the food. They had so so many options which made it actually quite hard to pick. My fiance and I order dinner and also a second meal to have as lunch for the next day. Filete de Mahi I asked for the blackened. The fish was cooked really well and had a really good seasoning as well, but it was quite salty. A good portion size on this though. Vaca Frita de Pollo This was shredded grilled chicken breast with onions and some garlic sauce. I saved this for the next day as a lunch and was really surprised by how huge the serving amount was! Very very big amount of chicken there which would have definitely been a good thing, but it was too salty! I tried to cover up the taste with some of the plain steamed vegetables on the side but it was just too much. I had to throw some away and I felt really bad but it was just too salty to have. Filetillos de Pollo This was the chicken strips cooked in a Cuban sauce with peppers and onion. Another one with the big serving size. The sauce was really good and flavorful. Even amount of chicken and peppers and onion there. My fiance had this dish and he really loved it. Kind of salty again here in my opinion. Churrasco de Pollo This was a good little chicken breast which was supposed to come with a chimichurri sauce but we didn't get that. A little disappointed with the missing sauce but the chicken was cooked just right and this was a good dish overall. For the sides we both ordered side salads and steamed vegetables. The salads came with a really nice mango vinaigrette and we absolutely loved this! Arroz con Leche and Tres Leches for the two dessert items we ordered and they were both really good. The rice pudding was perfectly sweet and came with a little bit of cinnamon on top which had a nice kick to it. Even the Tres Leches was so fresh tasty!
Good food, poor service. Make sure you check your order. I stayed across the street and ordered food to go here twice. The food was good and I appreciated the ability to order online but the pickup window was bad at checking the order and very unorganized. The first day they forgot my coffee and didn’t give me any utensils or napkins. The second day I had to remind them again to get my coffee and they didn’t add the pastry we ordered to the bag. I asked them why (and because it was circled on the receipt when I picked up my order) and she told me “we’re out of that one.” I would think the appropriate thing would to be remove it from the order or ask if I want something different, not charge me for it and then just not give me anything. I asked for a different pastry and was given it. I also came to dine in late on a Friday night with a coworker (10:30 pm) and was told the kitchen was about to close even though the door stated it was open until 1am. I’d call ahead if your planning on going late.
Maybe we ordered the wrong thing but did not like the food at all! We had the pan con bistek and milanesa empanizada. Really disappointed. No taste in the bistek con pan and the milanesa was tick and greasy. Would not come back or recommend. Service was great and they have free parking. 3/10
We entered the restaurant standing on the door nobody asking have you been helped or sit us somewhere.... I have to ask someone can we sit anywhere they said no wait.... Food was delicious but super small portions. I remember this place used to give generous portions l guess due to COVID-19 or whatever reason they cut down.
The food is good, although the orders were incorrect. Some of the main dishes missing.y family recommends the croqueta and the vaca frita. We loved the fresh orange juice. The ham n Cheese empanadas were also a hit. The Cuban sand which not so much and one our tortillas came out good and the other not edible. The place is nice and clean and in a great location with parking and vegetarian options
Waitress was oversolicitous and condescending. The food ok, nothing to brag about. But it was fast. Oh and if you need to go to the bathroom be ready to feel like you are in a closet.
Used to be good, not anymore. Food quality has changed. If you order takeout they don't care. Then you pick up and you have to pay before receiving the food. I always leave a tip when I pay before I check the food. Then when I check the food it is very dissapointing. I will never come back. Service in most cuban and hispanic restaurants in general has gone down the drain, it must be the hispanic business approach. Example, usually a Palomilla will be a large thin steak. See the picture, it feels like someone cut mine in half. What is that??? Why would I tip incompetence. Tip should match quality. It seems like eveyrone expects a tip for because... times have certainly changed! Pay more for less...
Food is amazing. Best Cuban food i have ever eaten. However, make sure you don't leave your table after paying because they won't let you sit again because it is " rush hour" . Servers were fast and nice. BuT owner/ manager had a very bad attitude when after paying asked a chair for my mom while we waited for our ubber to arrive. SHE WAS KIND OF RUDE!
Order takers at Window are very slow today. We were very surprised. There was no croquettas of any kind, No empanadas & the waiting time for them to get it done took 20 minutes. We asked for management & there only silence. In my 18 + plus years going to this location for cortadito, colada, empanadas & croquetas this has never happened.. ..We were so shocked by this that we refused to put the order for our sandwiches.
Came in on a Monday. Ordered one of their specials “fricase de pollo” $13 comes with two sides. Received cold rice and only 1 breast for 13.00. Should have at least come with two as this is cheap quality chicken. Not such a lunch special. Dissatisfied. Pros:the maduros and the mariquitas and empanada de ropa vieja Service was prompt.
My first time eating cuban food, for my taste, the food was very dry, my husband ate pork meat and I ate milanesa(beef). I have ate in other restaurants and the meats are juicy. Everyone has different taste but I didn't like it, plus it was pricey. The customer service could have been better.
The food quality was not good and our server was not good. My wife and daughter ordered their food and they did not eat their food however the restaurant only refunded one and I had to pay for the other.
★☆☆☆☆ Latin Café 2000 — Lejeune Rd (near MIA) I came craving Havana and got an airport-adjacent tourist trap. I’m from Naples, and the bakery back home makes a better Cuban sandwich than this place. First red flag: the ventanita had no coffee aroma. Miami 101—fail. • Cuban sandwich: paper-wrapped, no crisp, no mustard, no snap. • Vaca frita (fried beef) sandwich: bland and onion-heavy, sealed in a plastic box with fries and lettuce underneath—everything steamed into mush. It ate like a White Castle slider: onions + steam = mushy bread. • Fries: unsalted, tasted like old oil. • Highlight: the Diet Coke. It was cold. Reality check: In Cuba today, people pull off small miracles with scarcity—pulling together whatever they can find to make food that’s at least edible, often flavorful. With everything available here in the U.S., this kitchen still couldn’t produce a decent sandwich. Honestly, folks in Cuba would spit this out, even if they were starving. Damage: $55 with tip for three sandwiches and three Cokes. Between three of us, we tried to choke down half a sandwich and still couldn’t finish one. As a Cuban-American, I want visitors to Miami to taste the real thing—walk away with flavors they’ll never forget. It’d be a shame if they hit this place and think Cuban food is basically White Castle with onions. Miami has plenty of spots that remember what Cuban food tastes like when there are ingredients. Skip this one.
I ordered beef empanadas, but they gave me pork instead — which I’m allergic to. When I mentioned it, they tried to gaslight me, saying it was beef even though it clearly wasn’t. Turns out they were out of beef and didn’t say anything! I had to wait over 30 minutes for them to make the right order. Totally unprofessional and unsafe.
On Wednesday, I visited this restaurant as I normally do. I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere, and Miriam, who works in the afternoons, knows me, as well as the other employees who work at the window. However, this time I witnessed something extremely upsetting and completely unacceptable. Elva, the employee who was assisting me, was verbally attacked by the manager on duty that night, “Rosy”. She yelled at her from the kitchen, loudly enough for customers sitting outside to hear. It was shocking to see a manager disrespect and mistreat an older employee in such a humiliating way. This kind of behavior should never occur in a restaurant or in any workplace. It is clear workplace abuse. I asked to speak with the owner, but both Miriam and Elva seemed genuinely afraid of this manager. Unfortunately, yesterday ended up being my last visit to what used to be my favorite restaurant. I can’t support a place where employees are treated with such injustice and disrespect.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible service. The waitresses huge attitude, bothered to help you. The manager standing with her back to me and does nothing completely ignored the employees behavior. Food not worth it. Sandwich 2 slices of ham, very little meat. But what ruined my experience the most the waitress and manager. They need new Management and employees whom want to work. I do not recommend this place. Not will I ever go back.

Latin Cafe 2000: Miami's Enduring Heart of Cuban Flavor
