Opinions de La Casita Restaurant Miami
It was my first time going to LA Casita and I loved it. The food was fresh made. Muy rico I ordered vaca frita. El ambience tranquilo the lighting very intimate and no rush to kick you out. Better than La Carreta and Versailles
La Casita is an outstanding Cuban restaurant, truly one of the best in Miami. The food is excellent, and their lamb in wine sauce is absolutely delicious. The restaurant was completely packed, yet we received service from the server Rigo that felt worthy of a Michelin-level establishment. Highly recommended.
It's the second time I've been to this place and I really liked it. It is clean, with every detail taken care of, good attention from its workers, specifically Abel, I think it was the guy who attended us, very professional. The chicken soup like at home, the fried chicken was very tasty just like the momilla. An excellent place with Cuban food to taste.
🎶 “Ode to La Casita” 🎶 Oh La Casita, what a find! Where flavor dances, peace of mind. Forget Versailles — that’s old design, Your picadillo? Purely divine. The lemonade — homemade art, Sweet and tart, it stole my heart. And service? A flawless team ballet, Three or four helping right away. Since 1990, they’ve stayed true, Family pride in all they do. So here’s my rhyme, a thankful cheer — La Casita’s the best you’ll find this year!
I took my mom here since she loves Cuban food and the reviews are great for this place so my expectations were high. The service was friendly and great. Plenty of parking which was a plus as well. The food was fire 🔥 it was better than I expected and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to eat good Cuban food!
Authentic, flavorful Cuban food in a cozy, homestyle setting. The Ropa Vieja and Cubano sandwich are standouts, and the Tres Leches cake is a must-try. Friendly service and generous portions make it feel like you’re eating at Abuela’s. Way better than the touristy spots—this place is a true hidden gem.
Old school. The best of Versailles, Old Havana, Casa Cuba, and Sergio's multiplied by 100. Exquisite taste and presentation, generous portions, attentive service, immaculate ambience, affordable, detailed and nostalgic. In my Sacred List. Encore!
Nice place to eat good food and relatively quick.
I LOVE La Casita. I’ve stopped by two years in a row during my trips to Miami. The food is perfection and the service is wonderful. Their vacation frita is the best I’ve ever had and everything from appetizers to dessert is truly amazing. Their flan is also a must have! This restaurant is clean and the servers are so kind and attentive!
What a great Cuban restaurant !!! As appetizers, we had a sampler of Croquettes, pork, mini empanadas, PLANTAINS chips. We had the EMPANADA DE RES and it was great!! What made it so great was the meat, it was so tender!
Real classy restaurant serving quality food. We loved everything about it. The server was polite and knowledgeable of the menu. Food was impressive and portions were generous. The interior looked classy and well taken care of. Will be back!

The name of this place Casa cubana they have live music attendance are really nice food is delicious and great environment
Great Cuban food served by a friendly wait staff. Lechon asada, grilled snapper were both delicious. Only two regrets: the tostones, and the fact that it was too late to have cafe cubano.
Food was amazing, Yusmara was our server and she was spectacular! 10/10 highly recommend.
The atmosphere of this place is astonishing. It is like traveling on time, to a place where everybody has manners. The coffee was delicious, the service was exceptional. I only had coffe, but I would come back. The Hostess and waitresses are very polite. See you soon!
Love this place! My favorite restaurant ever! Makes remember back home! The place is elegant and the food is delicious and reasonably price! Perfect spot for dates, business meetings, and family and friends gatherings! Service is perfect and it is really clean!! Their juices and the iron beer is perfect!
Went here for my sister’s bday dinner. Came with 16 people. We were accommodated nicely. Everyone got their drinks a lil late but that’s to be expected with a large crowd. I tried the vaca frita and it was crispy and delicious, the plantains, rice and beans and the drinks were all really good. They also brought the cake out to us with candles so that was a nice touch.
Can here for father's day without a reservation. I'm so glad we chose this over Versailles. They were very accommodating to a larger group. The staff was fast and friendly. The prices were excellent. The quality of food was amazing. The best sangria I've ever had!
Smooth old classic atmosphere that feels straight out of an old movie You must get the lamb! And a huge shoutout to Lazaro definitely 5-star professionalism and great attention!
Food is great and the service is consistently excellent.
Can’t but recommend the food, the vibe, the people: I was invited to this place by a local and really loved it. Try their smoothies, they're a blast. But generally pretty much everything tastes so good. Just a hint: maybe a little less air conditioning would be appreciated :)
UPDATE: La Casita is back! I’ve been several times since my review, and they’ve consistently delivered. In my opinion, La Casita has always been the best Cuban restaurant in Miami. I've been eating there for YEARS, but recently, the food has been a let down. There's something off with the black beans (which is the barometer of a good cuban restaurant), and the bistec empanizado had zero, and I mean zero flavor. To be clear, the beans didn't taste bad, but just weren't that flavorful. I would say i've noticed the decline with my last three experiences (2 in-house, and one take out). I'd love to keep recommending La Casita, and eating there myself, but I think i'll have to move on for now.
I wanted to try somewhere different and had the most excellent dinner here! Such a nice atmosphere and the skirt steak was some of the best I've ever had. If you are looking somewhere besides Versailles and La Carreta, you will be happy you ate here!
We have been coming for a while and it Always an excellent experience! Food is always the best, love the frituras de bacalao and the tostones are fantastic! But most of all, the waiters is what makes this place shine! Abel and Carmen are the best you can find, so Wonderful!!!!! Thank you both for always taking care of us and always treating us like family! Gracias, muchas bendiciones!!!! Carmen y Carlos Segrera
Good waiter Abel. He is a keeper
Excellent food and restaurant was immaculate!
Great food and service. A miami icon, very old school Cuban legit restaurant.
From out of town and Dropped by this restaurant on my way home from a cruise. Was not disappointed. The service and food were excellent. Everything we ordered looked great and was flavourful. Our server was very professional and polite. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.
I came here last night and the entire dinner was a 5-star experience! The food was amazing with appropriate proportions. I came here to celebrate a birthday with a large group and the effortlessness in an accommodating all of the guests was immaculate. Would most definitely recommend if you’re looking for a tasty Cuban restaurant.
By far the food is better than many more well known Cuban restaurants (Versailles, La Carreta). Highly recommend the vaca frita. Very tasty and fried dry! Maduros were so good! Yummy bacalao fritters! Our server, Abel, was very friendly and helpful!! Ambience was great, not noisy and the clientele more genteel-not raucous and loud like at Versailles and La Carreta. We like it better here!!
Loved The food!!! I had a Lamb Shank in red wine sauce it was tender, delicious, and a good portion too, fresh fried Tostones and white rice, also had an xtra order of Yucca with mojo. It was my first time there and I will keep on going. Muy Rico!!
Fantastic restaurant. I always stop by when in Miami, and I have been going for the last 20 years. For the best cuban food in South Florida, try it, you will not be sorry.
I ordered the Breaded Beef Steak with white rice and Sweet Plantains and it was delicious and exquisite. The Server Alberto was Excellent, very knowledgeable and very polite. The ambiance of the restaurant was Elegant as well. All of the employees were Excellent and very polite as well. I very highly recommend this restaurant. I will definitely return. Thank you.
First time visiting this restaurant even though I had seen and heard of it for a few years now. The food was delicious, even better than I had heard. Exceeded my expectations. Genuine Cuban flavors in every bite. I went with just my mother so it is somewhere I will always remember. Loved it.
I’ve passed by this location hundreds of Times and I’ve always overlooked it. With the help of Google last night, It not only called, but also confirmed my reservation. The staff was very tentative and helpful. The food was delicious and having two daughters under the age of five, they ate an entire Palomilla their own. We also had the tostones with shrimp Appetizer and it was amazing.
In Miami is quite difficult to make one’s mind when wanting Cuban food, that is because there are plenty of great choices. One of them, “La Casita” right on Calle 8 in the Little Gables area. Their menu included some of my favorite Cuban specialty including “Cordero en Vino” (lamb cooked in wine”. Service is was superb, the ambiance was fantastic, and we were able to park on their designated parking area.
Visited Miami on business. I’m unfamiliar with Cuban cuisine. Had dinner at La Casita on the recommendation of the cigar shop down the street. This is a wonderful restaurant! Our waiter helped me with menu choices. He was a kind and patient gentleman. Attached photos of my meal. The other members of our group had various dishes. We were all well pleased. I dare say you couldn’t go wrong with any choice. I will say this. I would drive an hour for a glass of their sangria. Thank you for a pleasant evening!
Food was delicious! My brother and I take my mother to est there all the time. Its a great place to eat down relax and enjoy the food.
The beef empanadas are awesome! Great flavors in all of the food; great service; pleasant atmosphere.
Very friendly and attentive staff. The food was amazing! The arroz con Pollo was excellent.
I use to take my mother every Sunday she was 96 years old she passed a month ago. All the waiters knew us. Very friendly with my mom. She loved the food. I took my family to celebrate her heavenly Birthday on 8/9/25. We left an empty chair, she was there in spirit as every Sunday’s before.
Unintentionally, we skipped breakfast and lunch and ended up at a doctor's appt next door to this hidden jem of Cuban Cuisine. My father is Cuban, wife Peruvian and we know Cuban food. This place was amazing! Everything was as good as my grandmother used to make. Can't wait to come back. Thanks to all that made today perfect.
It was super delicious, excellent costumer service from Jose. He was kind and knowledgeable with menu. Congratulations to the Chefs.
Server was very friendly. Food was great, our first time trying cuban food and we really enjoyed.
Undisputed champion of Cuban Cuisine in Miami. Amazing, authentic flavors for reasonable prices and impeccable service.
As a Cuban American born and raised in Miami, THIS is the higher end Cuban restaurant I go to when I need a fix for genuine, higher quality Cuban cuisine. I even came directly from the airport and in my exhaustion, I left my purse behind. The next morning, it was there waiting for me w not a thing missing. So, the kind of place you can rest assured to get a great meal and be safe to leave your kids behind. ;)
This place deserves 1000000 stars! We went there on a busy Sunday and we understood why everyone wanted to come here for lunch. The food is insanely tasty and flavorful, it gave me nostalgia it reminded me to my family’s food, it’s so fresh and authentic I would absolutely come back!!
Very delicious. Came here after finding it on Google while visiting Miami. Amazing service, quick food, 10/10 food. I got the oxtail with sweet plantains and rice. My friend got the red snapper. We both had a great experience. Highly recommend
This is very pretty and ✨️ sparkly inside and the service was amazing. I'm very American and boring in my food choices and seasonings I use but, I'm trying to be more open with trying food prepared and seasoned differently than I am used to. I chose liver and onions with mashed potatoes and fried sweet potatoes. I wasn't really fond of the flavors in the cooking of the liver but my daughter said she liked it. It was perfectly cooked and so tender but it just had an odd taste that I couldn't get into. The mashed potatoes once again had an odd taste so I didn't eat them. I wasn't thinking and ordered the fried sweet potato, but it was the white sweet potato which is not as flavorful as the orange one but other people with me absolutely enjoyed them. My elderly friend with us who has moderate dementia and we have to beg her to eat got the child portion of chicken strips and fries which she ate like a champ. We did put her food on a smaller plate and she ate great. We took a lot home with us. I probably won't return because it just wasn't something that I enjoyed but the othe⁴rs that I was with are definitely planning on returning. One more thing, they brought a small basket of Cuban garlic bread and it was delicious.
Beautiful place. Very peaceful. The food is delicious. It made me feel like I was in the Old Havana having a nice lunch. The service was great . I never ththis place was going to surprise me the way it did. Definitely a must do. In the heart of the Calle Ocho, a great cuban food awaits everyone. Thanks to the server and to the administration. Great job!!!!!.
The restaurant is 10/10, the waitress Jenny was super attentive, and the food was all very good. You should go and enjoy!
Happened to be passing, and hungry so gave it a try. Going to be going back. Place is clean, service was fast and efficient. Food turned up quickly, staff attentive. And the food quality top notch. Started with a red bean soup. Perfectly seasoned. The croquettes had some dipping sauce I've not had before that took them to another level. Had the pan con bistec with fries. Must have been fresh oil too, the fries were very light and tasty. Cafe con leche was a bit too dark for my taste but they brought over a frothy milk to add to it. All perfection. End up picking wife up from nearby and taking her there. I'd only been gone 10 minutes before they saw me again, and wifey loved all her food too. She also had the red bean soup and chicken vaca frita I think it was. Only slight issue was going back again, heard the same musak again on loop, poor staff. Great place, will be back
La Casita Cubana is an incredibly cozy and comfortable place. The space feels open and inviting thanks to the large windows and great natural light, and the seating is very comfortable. The food is excellent, especially the lamb in wine sauce, which is honestly the best lamb I’ve ever had in my life, and I’ve been to many great restaurants. Highly recommended.I was served by Abel. Great service also.
This is truly Cuban cuisine with a wonderful atmosphere friendly people excellent menu. All dishes are amazing. Would recommend it to anyone whether you're a local or visiting. I live outside of Miami and travel here to visit family and I go there quite often when I'm in town.
We had a friend in from out of town, and wanted to take him to get Cuban food without the hype of Versailles and without loud music playing. I hadn't been to this restaurant in a while and had forgotten how good it was. We arrived late-ish. Our server Abel was very attentive, gave suggestions and provided great service. I noticed people arrive late (like 30 minutes before the restaurant closed) and the staff was nice and didn't seem like they were trying to rush the customers out of there, despite the time. The food was delicious. The black beans were the best I've had in a long time. They were not like other places were there is more liquid than beans. Service was great and the food was great. 😋 Will definitely be returning!
A delightful dining experience! Parking was super easy, and we were seated right away. They have a nice big menu, and the food was great. We had the Caesar salad, croquetas, vaca frita, and picadillo. We will definitely be back!
We went here after an evening at Trails Theater. I had seen a recent negative review and was somewhat doubtful, since there are several good choices nearby. It turned out to be a wonderful place. The food was authentic (I know Cuban food extremely well), very tasty and abundant. I would love to go back any time. I highly recommend it. I had tasajo and arroz con leche. Both were great, as were all the dishes our party of six had.
Food here is spectacular, if you are a true cuban I assure you will like this place. Also Rigo was an amazing waiter, hope me and my family would see him again!!!!
Being in Miami, specifically Coral Gables, I was looking for a good Cuban place and La Casita was the best I have ever had. I even went there for lunch and dinner 2 days in a row. The service is also great and attentive. Can't wait to be back in Miami.

Food was good. The parking lot is a madhouse. The food was good but the fish soup was not the best I've had.
A great choice for traditional Cuban food. Good and friendly service. Delicious meals and moderately priced.
Was VERY impressed with La Casita !! I have been passing by it for years, but never stopped worried about the parking. Sure enough the one negative is the parking, specially during meals times. It is a very popular restaurant with limited parking, I had to park street side, and even that was difficult. The food is very good, with an ample menu and portions. The prices very resonable and service, great !! Will DEFiNITELY stop by again ..soon.

As a Cuban, I know Cuban food inside and out—and to be honest, it's not the most complex cuisine out there. That said, some Cuban restaurants still manage to elevate the flavors and really stand out. La Casita Cuban Cuisine was... fine. The food was good, but nothing out of this world. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it didn’t leave a strong impression either. If you're looking for a decent Cuban meal, this place will get the job done. Just don’t expect anything unforgettable.

Food and service were 6/10. The chicken was super dry and the fish just plain. Nothing outstanding. The server wasn't friendly either. I wouldn't come back to this restaurant.
I give it a 3 star because is very old school food kind of like what you cook at home old school chefs rice is like the cheapest quality not quite my liking but there sandwiches are good the media noche desserts are always good prepackaged so there you go enjoy.
I found the restaurant too expensive for Cuban food, there are many more places exactly the same quality of food and cheaper , attention was needed, waitress talking and clients needing attention
This week I was near this Cuban-style restaurant and we decided to have lunch there on the recommendation of my friend who had been there on other occasions. The place is very nice as well as the service staff, the food is good but I had an unpleasant experience, they served us some cod fritters, the dish was very well presented but... with a long hair tangled between one of the fritters. I felt very disgusted. We returned it of course. I didn't really leave the place because of my friend but after that sad experience I hardly tasted my dish and I won't go back again. It's a shame, because the place has a lot of movement. They should watch more what is happening in the kitchen.
This is the place that I regularly go for Cuban food when I want to treat myself. Service is professional. Food is really good that you can take your grandmother and she'll not complain. However, prices are around two to three dollars more for entrees when you compare it to Versailles. I will not tell you which is my favorite dessert that they make according to how it's supposed to be made, because I don't want it to sell out when I arrive. Still, all the desserts and everything else is great. The food is that good that people don't even order sandwiches.
Good service and ambience. Very clean. Food VERY disappointing. My vaca frita was a dry bland piece of meat, uninspiring. The tostones were just normal, not delicious. The croquetas de bacalao were very small, dry and didn’t feel like croquetas but more like balls of dry shredded bacalao.
A party of 15 people, one child, for a Bday celebration, on a Sunday afternoon. Weak service one waiter for a table of 15 people. On an average a table here have 2-4 people to one waiter. Delayed service on resquest drinks, not attentive to the tablet needs and people at the table. My senior parents come to this restaurant many, many times.
I ordered the Palomilla with moros and tostones. The Palomilla was paper thin and over cooked, the moros were lukewarm, and the tostones were flimsy and undercooked. Terrible food for $16.95. Awful parking. If you arrive late, you have to park several blocks away and walk. The baked chicken, Cordero, and Higado a la Italania were good. The 3 leches was good, but the Buñuelos were excellent and served warm, crunchy, and juicy.
Worst service EVER!!!\nMy friend and me we used to go all the time and sometimes we complained for the quality of the food or the waiter attention... but this last was the top of the cherry! \n\n…
The supposed Ajiaco (more like beef stew n carrots) was not good and served on a broken bowl. The $1.50 each fritura de bacalao were dime size fish nuggets not bacalao. Awful. The yuca frita didn't have yuca but a paste resembling it. This is not fine dining more like fast food very pricey. Leaves a lot to be desired not worth the money plus extremely cold ac, uncomfortably so. This is not Cuban Cuisine, unless you've never had the real thing. Looks good from far but FAR from good. Not worth it.

For black patrons, particularly tourists who may be unaware of local dynamics, avoid this place. Called the restaurant in advance to let them know our party would be coming and they agreed. They saw that we’re black, including my 70-year old parents, and we were met with silence and hostility, including a waitress slamming water glasses on the table. Can’t tell you about the food, because we left before ordering.
Terrible service. I'd give it negative stars if I could. Waited 45 mins to have someone come take our order and about as long for food to arrive. When we asked for update because things were taking so long, we were completely dismissed. We never even knew who our server was the whole night. We had to get our water ourselves. Not a single apology or explanation as to the delay. They don't care about customers. Don't recommend it.
I took my family to dinner knowing that according to Google, they offered a military discount. When it was time to pay, the waiter didn’t know anything about it, neither did the manager. I showed them information on my phone from their location La Casita Cuban Cuisine and they disregarded it. Moreover, I had ordered a pan con bistec to go for my son, and the waiter never placed my ordered. I will not be going over anytime in this lifetime. The food was overrated, per my entire family. I ordered picadillo and it was too sweet. To add insult to injury, we were never asked if we wanted dessert, which we did in an attempt to compensate for the food. Bad experience, not a military catering restaurant as they allege to be online.
Requested 2 Media Noches and specified no butter. Well both breads were full of butter and greassy not good
I don’t understand You guys have probably been doing these Christmas Eve dinners for years now I’m a new customer. I just started working around here about a month ago but I’ve been in there twice a week in the evenings to get a half of chicken rice beans to that one in there the lady offered me half a chicken that she told me no chicken breast. OK that’s fine. 35 minutes later no food. No one knows where the food is so I paid for the food and I left keep the $21 but I won’t be going back.
