This place is absolutely amazing. Great vibe, phenomenal food, and even better service, the whole staff was friendly and attentive. I will return.
The nicest people work here, the atmosphere is so nice and the quantity and quality of the food is incredible!!! Great portions for price!!
The Cuban coffee I had here is one of the best. I had great expectations on the tostones. They weren't up to the level I expected. The shrimp, fish and grilled chicken are good. The chicken dish had a lot of oil. Overall definitely worth a try. The service was fast too.
Great little Cuban diner in Coral Gables. We were seen right away. The staff was friendly and the food was great. We really enjoyed the cafe con leche and the guava and cheese pastries.
The Garlic Shrimp and the Garlic Chicken are outstanding! The sweet plantains and black beans & rice are always very good as is the service! Inside and outside shining available.
Luis Galindo Latin American Restaurant in Miami is a culinary gem, boasting expertly cooked Cuban dishes at remarkably reasonable prices. The extensive variety of authentic Cuban dishes including my favorite palomilla steak, makes it a delightful destination for those seeking a true taste of Latin American cuisine. A flavorful experience that won't break the bank.
Great food and friendly staff. Fast service and attentive waitresses. Everything is made EXACTLY how you want it. I've been eating here for years with my family and will continue to do so.
For 18 years, my family & I have been going to dine at, as we call it here at home, "The Corner". Always a friendly atmosphere & awesome attention & best of all good food especially the Chicken Milanessa & the Chicken soup is to die for.
This restaurant is excellent! From the moment you enter until you leave the restaurant, the service is first class. The food is delicious and varied. I really recommend this restaurant if you want to taste an exquisite meal and receive an excellent service!
Our AirBnB host recommended this restaurant, so my wife and I gave it a try. The service was very good and the prices were reasonable. I had the Cubano sandwich, and my wife got the shredded beef. Both were very tasty. We tried cassava for the first time, and it was good. Really like their garlic bread. Highly recommend this restaurant.
This morning, I had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Luis Galindo Latin America Restaurant, and it was an experience worth raving about. From the moment we walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect start to our day. The menu offered a fantastic variety of traditional Latin American breakfast dishes, and we were spoiled for choice. I opted for the classic Cuban breakfast, and it did not disappoint. The café con leche was rich and smooth, a perfect complement to the hearty, flavorful meal. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the side of crispy bacon was just the right amount of indulgence. My dining companions raved about the croquetas and the freshly made Cuban toast, which was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. What really stood out, though, was the authenticity of the flavors. Every bite transported us to the heart of Latin America, reminding us of the rich culinary traditions that make this cuisine so special. It’s rare to find a place that feels like a home away from home, but Luis Galindo Latin America Restaurant managed to do just that. If you're looking for a spot that offers more than just great food, but also an experience filled with warmth, authenticity, and genuine hospitality, then I highly recommend starting your day at Luis Galindo Latin America Restaurant. We left with full stomachs and happy hearts, eager to return and explore more of their incredible menu.
Great, authentic Cuban cuisine! The Ropa Vieja was Fantastic. The sweet plantains, I wish I had ordered extra. They were so good. We also had a corn soup that was great. Finished up with a Cuban coffee to go out and conquer the afternoon.
It has the BEST Cuban food by far!!! My favorite and family friends love it. I highly recommend the food. I had the pleasure of having Luz as my server, she is very nice and gave me great recommendations of what to order. You most ask for Luz. I like the manager and owner to know we were very happy with her service and hospitality.
This is the place for very best Cuban coffee anywhere! Doesnt get better than this place. Actually anything there is excellent, authentic, and at great prices. On this visit, I had the Cuban Sandwich Special. It was actually 2 Cuban sandwiches in one serving. Awesome! Great service from Patricia too. I will be eating there again on my next visit to Miami.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Luis Galindo Latin Restaurant and I must commend the outstanding service provided by our waitress, Elieth. From the moment we were seated, Elieth greeted us with a warm smile and genuine hospitality that set the tone for a delightful dining experience. Throughout the meal, Elieth demonstrated exceptional attentiveness, ensuring that our drinks were always topped up and that we had everything we needed. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she offered helpful recommendations that enhanced our dining choices. What truly stood out was Elieth's professionalism and genuine care for our satisfaction. Despite the restaurant being busy, she never once made us feel rushed, taking the time to check on us regularly and ensuring that each course was served promptly and flawlessly. Elieth's attention to detail and personalized service truly elevated our dining experience. Her friendly demeanor and dedication to providing top-notch service reflect positively on [restaurant name], and she is undoubtedly an asset to your team. I would highly recommend the restaurant to friends and family, thanks in large part to the exceptional service provided by Elieth. I look forward to returning soon and experiencing her hospitality once again.
Awesome food and a constant upgrade on their ambiance it's always a pleasure to return. Sometimes I can't make up my mind so I order my usual Special Cuban Sandy or varying Shrimp dishes. They have so much more, you can tell people frequent here.
Been going here for Years! Friendly staff, clean EVERYTHING and water enough to drown an elephant. Buttered Cuban Bread to last a lifetime. Portions and HEALTHY. Greatest Cuban samich in Miami! Chicharrones de pollo: FIRE! Daily Specials: Fire! Great place to eat! LOVE IT!
I’ve been coming to this restaurant for the past 18 years and the fast and great service this past years have been what keepsrailing me in to come at least once a week. I love the Serrano order, Café con leche, tamal en casuela, and manny other great things.
You want the Cuban experience well you get it! The food and vibes are amazing. The smell of cafecito very inviting. I always get the scrambled eggs with french fires mixed in and nothing compares a big chocolate shake and life is good!
Been wanting to go there .... Finally today I stopped and ordered a take out dinner....wow!!! Delicious!!!! Waitress super nice... atmosphere noisy and happy....lots of smiling faces.... will be back....I saw the sandwich maker in action , I know what I will get next time... can't wait....😋
GREAT place like always. Best Sandwiches, Tamal en Casuela, everything is GREAT. The Waitress are fast, and knowledgeable about what they sell. They Greet you, Inquire if you know what you want if you don't have anything in mind they'll suggest, and finally that Thanks for coming with a Smile. It is Great nothing comes out wrong.
Love this place. Food is very good. Prices reasonable.
Really enjoyed dinner here. Service was great and food came out quickly. Everything we ordered tasted good and was good portion for price paid.
This is my staple! I have lived in this neighborhood since 1979! No better place to go for Cuban food! Yes even better than Versailles. My favorite is Bistec empanizado (breaded steak). And when I'm away, this is exactly what I crave! The steak is thin, the breading is Cuban cracker meal, it's fabulous! The steak is also HUGE they usually have to fold it over on the plate. I get it with maduros (sweet plantains) and white rice. Their white rice is bomb! BTW nothing here is diet (or vegetarian), so throw that out the window! I got take out the other day and the portion of rice was enough for days! I also love the tortilla (omelette) with onions, peppers, and tomatoes. The tortilla (yes that's what Cubans call omelettes) with fries (these are meh, could be good or not, ask for them fresh) and Cuban coffee for breakfast/brunch is delicious. I bring all my friends to this, it's so good. Ropa vieja (shredded beef in a **light** tomato sauce) is divine. My friend from North Florida insists I take her every time she visits. Oh and the Cuban sandwich. Best in Miami, hands down. HIGHLY recommended! This photo is after my mother and I ate our portion! We each had a three inch strip of steak and a ball of rice!
my waitress was so incredibly kind not to mention the food was soooooo good especially after not eating all day fed reccommend!
Delicious Latino food and wonderful cortadito cafe. Every time my family and and I visit Miami this is our favorite restaurant to eat it.
Fast, good portions, friendly staff
I went with a group of 5. We all ordered different things. Everything I tasted was amazing. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I tried my best to speak Spanish and they did a great job understanding what I wanted to order. I want to go again and again. Sooooooooo good. Get the Garlic chicken or steak. You won't be disappointed with any meal you order. Almost forgot to mention the bread. I ate way too much. I couldn't help myself.
Great Cuban food and fantastic service.
The service was top notch. Much better than far pricier restaurants I have been in. Food portions were huge as well. I don't usually leave food on my plate but this time I had to. I hope the staff is being fairly paid, as they seem to care for the service they offer their customers.
My wife calls this place “The Joint”. Whenever any of us travel and after we arrive back to Miami this is our first stop. I go for the vaca frita, it’s good and sharable portions.
I love this place, a gem of Miami. I have been coming here for years and it feels like home. Great food at the restaurant, also has a great bakery.
Best place anytime we go here we enjoy the food and good service!
I had an amazing experience at Luis Galindo Latin American Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were wow—very generous and satisfying. I went with a friend, had a great time, and we truly enjoyed every bite. The place has a great atmosphere, and I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!
Excellent food, well priced with generous portions! Staff is very attentive and many times you have a team taking care of you. I go eat there often. Highly recommend!
I live in Hollywood Florida and I was by the area looking for a place to buy some coffee. I also decided to buy a sandwich ham cheese and eggs that's all. But instead, I got it with french fries even though I did not want them, I ate them. And I'm so Happy to say the french fries were fresh and very good thank you guys. Your sandwich is off the top.
The original Latin American Cafe, still the best after all these years, food and service is the best. Lorena La Famosa was the greatest part of our visit, very kind and attentive. This place defines the often used Latin phrase “Que Rico!!”
Food was amazing and delicious! I used to come here when I was a kid and I’m super happy it hasn’t gone down in quality. Can’t wait when I come back to Miami to eat here again. Always loved the food here
I've visited this place for three consecutive days to test out the atmosphere, cleanliness, consistency, and service. For the most part it is excellent in most aspects. With some minor but unfortunately consistent issues. First, when it comes to taking the order it seems either there is some miscommunication. Twice they have forgotten an order for a drink such as orange juice and needed to be reminded. At one time I was simple left alone at my table for some time without being approached to even be given a menu, an older gentleman, whom I believe was perhaps a manager stepped in to very politely ask me if I needed anything, which I highly appreciate. And at another day what was perhaps most egregious was forgetting a preference for no onions on a dish. Obviously had it been an allergy issue it would have been most unfortunate. But for me the most disappointing issue has to be cleanliness. It seems clean enough but in all three consecutive days I've visited and sat at the same table there has be a dried up red bean on the window still next to the table. It makes me ask myself how often and how carefully do they clean if it's been there all this time. What level of attention is being paid to the details if issues like these come up. It isn't anything major, but I cannot possibly give them a perfect score. It also leads me to believe why are the outside tables the only ones which have utensils sealed in plastic. Obviously there is the question of elements and birds outside but with people walking by all the time can we trust the ones on the tables have not been touched, by accident or otherwise. Would the effort be too great to have those sealed as well? I plan to return and hopefully see an improvement. As I dearly enjoy the establishment.
Wednesdays is Ajiaco Day. Go early. They run out at night. Very good Cuban food. Very good service. Fair prices. They always keep your glass full of water and "pan con mantequilla" on the table. Meat and potatoes atmosphere.
This place is always packed and for a good reason. It served up Cuban dishes. The prices are great and the portion size is above average. Two people can easily eat off of some of their plates. The service is good as well. The ladies are always friendly and attentive. It is wheel chair accessible. Seating involves outside with plenty of shade, indoor booths and tables and hightop diner style. The parking is very limited due to its size and popularity of the restaurant. My wife enjoys coming here a lot.
This place is a classic Cuban diner. The taste of the island is palpable in every dish that I have savored in my 5+ visits to this restaurant. The prices are extremely affordable for the quantity of the portions. If you like Cuban cuisine and the 60s dinner vibe, this is your cup of tea...
Took some out of town friends who wanted Cuban food. They loved the place! I've never had anything bad there, and they were very accommodating to out party of 6. Food is reasonably priced and there are many options. Service is good.
I have been coming to this business for years and the food is always delicious and served in big portions, I always have left overs. All from breakfast to sandwiches, dinner and even the shakes..The only reason I wont give it a 5 star rating is because the past few times I have gone with my family the waitresses seem unhappy and rude.
Great little local restaurant in the west Miami/Coral Gables area. We just stopped in to kill some time before an appointment. We had items out of their bakery cases. Everything was tasty. We tried the pan da bono, cookies croquettes, and flan. The flan was smooth and delicious, not too sweet . The two staff members who helped me knew very little or no English, but were very accommodating to serve my party and try.
This Latin American is one of two (2) left that serve the traditional, quality Cuban food and also gives you the quantity. Their sandwiches do not consist of one slice of ham and one slice of pork but multiple slices of each including cheese of course like the good-ole-days when you actually got your money's worth. Still a favorite for many Miamians! The only negative is the parking.
I have always considered this to be a better than avarage typical Cuban spot. Please see the picture I posted of the scalding hot milk in the large plastic pitchers. I am trying to be safe with plastics and the chemicals they are known to leak out into liquids such as BPA. I am pretty sure the milk is supposed to be scalded or boiled in metal containers. You can guess what my cafe con leche tasted like. Latin American Resturant please keep me safe.
I've been coming to this place since the mid 90s. Food has always been good consistently. Service is also great. I've known Maritza for 30+ years and she's still there making customers feel pampered. I didn't give 5 stars because they weren't that clean this last time I was there.
Good Cuban food preparation. Fast service. Can be a little noisy at times with people talking and background music.
Sorry but the worst tostones that I ever eat and don’t order the regular arroz con pollo because is parboiled rice that has a terrible flavor make sure you say arroz con pollo a la chorrera they are different the place is very rundown why I cannot find a good Cuban restaurant in Miami shame on Miami in New York. We have better Cuban restaurants with better quality of food.
I have been going to this restaurant for well over 30 years, though I hadn't been there in a couple of years. The service was great. Unfortunately, the food was not that good. Those that were with me didn't like their food that much either. This used to be one of my all-time favorites. I must say I was disappointed.
Left me card there one time and I went back the next day to get it and they couldn't find it. And another time when I got home with the two bags, I was missing one more order that they didn't give me. I think if people going to pick up food or order to go, there should be only two cashier/waitress for that. Not seven no one knows who's with what order and especially on weekends. Other then that. The food is great.
The food is good but be weary the staff is pretty slow! We waited 15 minutes to order and 40 minutes to get our food, it's a hefty wait time, im glad the good was good! This was around 730pm and the place wasn't that full no lines or wait time to be seated!
Very slow service. We got menus and utensils and 5 minutes later we got bread. The server came to get our order 10 minutes later as I started to complain. The Ajiaco soup was at room temperature but the flavor was great. We like the place and we normally drop by once a week. Today was a mess.
The food was excellent! The service was the worst. We waited for ever just to order. The place had plenty of waitresses, but they were to busy hanging out in the front and socializing. The manager came out to the front counter and did nothing. Our meal came out before our cup of coffee. Again the food is great, but the wait and the lack of service is not worth it. I do not recommend this restaurant.
I never thought I would pay $11.50 for a Cuban sandwich. However, the bread was pretty good, fresh and crunchy. It reminded me of how good Cuban bread can be.
Typically, when I come here the food is quite good, though the last time I picked up food to bring home. A Miami sub and a cuban sandwich. I was disappointed. The bacon on the Miami sub was mostly raw. I had to remove most of it and it was just plain sloppy. My parents who had the Cuban complained that the meat was dry. Update--another inconsistent Miami restaurant. A few days ago, we picked up an order, they forgot the black beans, tonight ( 3-11-25) they got the order wrong, so we had to go back and the same dish I had a few days ago-the filetillo de pollo salteado--which was soo good, tonight was fair at best. I don't get it. I'm obviously aware that different chefs are going to have some variation in their cooking but night and day difference? This pic was very recent--the chicken felt like and tasted like wood.
Am being nice giving them 3 stars. The breaded palomilla steak and regular palomilla steak had no flavor what so ever. Overall Rice and steaks not good at all.
Someone needs to give the plancha a good cleaning, complimentary bread and my pressed sandwich tasted of slightly rancid butter. Not a pleasant experience.
My husband and I went to the restaurant on 11/12/2023 to have a sandwich. Although the sandwiches were very good, here's why I wouldn't go back: - There was a family of pigeons feasting off food that was left in the Bus Boy cart right outside the entrance door. The cart sat there for the entire time we were there which was about 45 minutes. - We sat at the counter (which was not busy), but the server barely looked our way. In fact, I ordered a Tamal with my sandwich that never came. - The floors were dirty. The only reason we stayed was because we saw the guy make our sandwich. I WOULDN'T order food from the kitchen. - Finally, to top it off, there is a big screen TV that showed slides of companies' advertisements. One of them being a Pest Control that showed pictures of critters including ROACHES. NOT what you want to glance up and see while eating at a restaurant. Needless to say, we will NOT be returning.
My wife and I visited this restaurant yesterday for the first time. The service was not all that great. The food was very small portions and was not happy with the overall experience there. We will never go back again and on top of that they add the tip to the bill I don’t like that. I’m not comfortable with that, so I don’t recommend this place
The hardest toston, worst lechón asado, and the #1 Cuban sandwich in Miami is horrible!!! super dry and is serve without French fries, but the lacon is amazing, great service, clean and super friendly.
La comida no estubo buena, pero Maritza si brindó un excellente servicio. Este lugar es un chismes place. Se ve que no les gusta pero les entretiene.
Nothing worst than ordering a sandwich with no pickles and realizing the sandwich still taste like pickles as they were just taken out.. oh wait. They forgot one Unreal they did not make a new sandwich I came out of surgery and this is what I asked for. So disappointed When u hate pickles. This is beyond gross to me This is Not the Galindo way.
Súper expensive. I bad service.... 1 year aftwr i come back and super disappointed. A large soup is not more than 10oz of soup. And charge $5. The tuna sald was two icream balls size . Woth a large bed of lettuce with no dressing. Or any good flavor. Anf charge $8 for that.
The So Lady... more like... India! That served my ticket. For a takeout! Was very unpleasant and rude. I even tipped her. After her bad service. And not even a Thanks! But I told her.. Your welcome. And the other waitress even cracked up cause she saw her rudeness. 👎
This place has lost so much quality in the last 2-3 years. I remember coming here before and wanting to come back every time. I came back 2 Saturdays ago with my girlfriend and asked for the chickpeas with chorizo. I told my server that I wanted the plate I was looking at in the picture. She came back with something that looked like it had been served straight from a can and thrown on the microwave for a minute. It was so dry that after trying it once I decided I didn't want it. It wasn't the plate I had eaten before at that exact same restaurant, nor the one I saw in the picture. I told another server about the issue and she told my server, who didn't show the least interest in the situation. Instead she gave me the check on their little iPad or whatever and made sure to select the 15% tip option before handing it over. I'm giving this place 1 star because I've pretty much lost all hope that they will go back to the level of quality they had in the past. Needless to say that I won't be returning to this restaurant again. There are way too many restaurants in the area to waste my time in one like this.
The service is not what you can expect from this location they could do better if they care for their customers. in the end, they're the ones who pay everyone's salaries. If you suffer from any medical condition, for example like epilepsy, migraines don't expect they would treat you with respect or at least care for your condition if you request to turn off the strobe lights some other business would do it, This one is not one of those also the community LGBT is not welcome here 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 don't waste your time and money I don't recommend
if it was possible to give a negative star I would have gave him that let's start off with the best service I called ahead of time once I got there for something that was just a simple chicken soup ended up waiting 30 minutes after three people ask me the same question what was my name what did I order this place is overrated and I would not recommend it and I'm Hispanic a lot better places than then this one. Oh and by the way the soup was horrible
Don't ask for arroz con pollo Saturday or Sunday a la chorrera, we bought it yesterday I told the person that took my order over the phone that I don't want the one on the special that I wanted the one a la carta and when I got home and served the smell was acid and the mariquitas was old as well. Be careful when you order they don't care to sales the rotten food.
Breakfast time is much better than Dinner. The mashed potato wasn’t good cooked. We found cockroach running under the table.
I went today for the arroz con pollo a la chorrera. Big mistake. Came back home and I was surprised for the amount of used oil they used to cook it in the container. The rice was soaked in oil like swimming in a pool of grease . Very disgusting. I had to put it all in the garbage, waisted money because I passed by in my way home, and I don't live close to the restaurant, otherwise will take it back for my refund.
This place is a lie! They say everywhere that they close at 1:00 AM, but by midnight they refuse to take any more orders. That’s false advertising, and I honestly didn’t expect this kind of behavior — especially from a family that claims to follow God.
This place has changed so much in the last 20 years!!!. It’s not even half as nice as it was. They are super expensive and now charge a container fee and they also charge a credit card fee when you use you’re debit card which is supposedly illegal in Florida because a debit purchase it like a cash purchase. $19.70 for one breaded steak meal. !!!!! Plus they changed the breaded steak which in the past was the best in town. Not any more. Last time I went was 3 weeks ago. I don’t want to go back. I don’t recommend it anymore. Our waitress had sniffles and her voice was coarse like if she was sick. Can’t believe they allow people to work sick. Back again to add a new review. Went back last week I guess in hopes that they fixed the issues but they are never going to be as good as it was before this owner took over. Food is super expensive and they charge for take out containers! How ridiculous! They also add a fee if you use your debit card! A Debit card is like cash! They have gone from bad to worse. Too bad they were always a great Cuban family restaurant in the past . The waitresses are still nice and sweet but they are not as happy as they used to be. Sad but true. I won’t be going back there again.
Ordered today a steak Sandwich (Pan Con Biste) and the meat was hard a a rock, it seemed to be old! 😤 this is the last time that I will visit this restaurant. management should supervise who ever prepared food. din't even offer me a refund. very disappointed.
The helpers at this restaurant have the attitude that they are doing you a favor by serving you! They do not have any ongoing training program for their employees that insist that no matter who you pass in the restaurant, that they should absolutely make you feel appreciated and say “good morning or good afternoon” to respect that fact that we are as patrons paying their salaries so they should be happy and respectful …. Horrible training program!
This has been the worst experience I've had in ANY restaurant especially this early it's 8:30 am and no one is here .... my eggs were cold my croquettes were cold i had to get up twice and theses women are acting like it was a privilege to be around them the only individual who asked if I was ok or needed anything was sitting in my far left corner which seemed she was on her break ....the only one who asked after seeing and noticed that I was unhappy was on her own time ......so I appreciate her....but someone really needs to pay attention they even made fun of the situation not knowing I was bilingual and undertood what they were saying....finally the so called manager came around and all she said was ill take 1 croquet off your bill like that was the issue ..... in conclusion someone really needs to look into this issue...I'm sure I'm not the only one
The server we had Patricia did not want to be at work at all. She had the attitude of i am here to benefit you. No young lady I am there to benefit you get a salary. Her attitude should be adjusted or get another job. It's not my fault that her day is sorrow and boring. This place has gotten too expensive as well. I would not recommend the mornings at this place.
I would have put the atmosphere was better but waitresses were throwing the chairs around stacking them up after we had just gotten there and started eating. We got there at 11:30 when the maps app says it closes at 1:00 a.m. I asked our waitress and she didn't apologize and said the place actually closes at 11:00 and that it hasn't been fixed. We heard her talking to another waitress using profanity talking about another customer that she had a problem with. The place charges you $0.25 per box for takeout or leftovers. They charge $1.45 for not paying cash. She never informed me of any of this. I found out because I looked at the receipt so hopefully you look at it. Thankfully they did not include the tip but suggest at least 15%. She forgot to bring my Coke and when I mentioned it at the end, with an attitude she said if I would have remembered and told her she would have brought it to me. Incredible! It's pretty obvious the reason that the waitresses treat the customers the way they do is because THEY KNOW No one is looking at these reviews because notice how no one responds to them. I recommend if anyone has a complaint that you talk to the manager at the moment or call the restaurant because no one looks at these reviews.
