From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such care and hospitality it truly made the experience unforgettable. The food was beyond amazing. We ordered an entire 4-lb fried fish, (they let you pick the fish before they cook it!) perfectly cooked, crispy, and full of flavor, along with a platter featuring steak, octopus, shrimp, and lobster… and WOW. Every single item was cooked to perfection and absolutely phenomenal. Our server, Lissett, deserves special recognition. She was outstanding, extremely attentive, friendly, and incredibly quick, making sure we had everything we needed at all times. Her service alone elevated the entire experience. Looking to have seafood, I came across Sonia's Seafood Market and Restaurant on Google. I had such an amazing time here. I tried the Butterflied Filet Yellow Snapper on a bun with fries and the Whole Fried Red Snapper (which you get to pick out at the Seafood Market) with rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. Both meals were delicious and well-seasoned. The DJ and live performance added to the lively atmosphere (people were even dancing), and the view of the water from our pier-side seat was great, with a fresh breeze adding to the experience. Our waitress, Rosy, was fantastic and made the evening even better. Parking was hassle-free thanks to the parking attendant. This place is such a vibe. Overall, a perfect 10 out of 10 experience!

A group of us went on a Sunday to see a Local Band " The Groove Brothers" who are absolutely Fantastic for Blues and Rock Lovers! This place was So much Fun! We just celebrated my daddy's 96 birthday. Pedro Daniel, was the server that took care of our table and helped us with other party details. Pedro Daniel was more than awesome and he definitely exceeded our expectations. He is an asset to this restaurant. The food was incredible.The music was great.We loved it! The only complaint I have, is their management staff. I called and personally went to the restaurant to make arrangements, two weeks before. I asked about deposits, capacity of the restaurant in terms of how many people it can hold. I asked if I can decorate, bring balloons et cetera et cetera et cetera. I was told by management that, yes, my fifty guests would be accommodated. I did not have to leave a deposit.The balloons and the cake, everything would be fine, and they would help me decorate, which they did. Angelica and Pedro Daniel helped my husband and I decorate, again, they were awesome. So I confirmed the number of people and kept calling to make sure everything was taken care of, I was assured it was. Two days before the event, the head director or manager calls me and tells me that a deposit of two thousand dollars was required, but not to worry that he was not going to charge me. He asked me to please come in on that day, or the next day to speak about the decorations, and the people coming. Needless to say, I was worried and very nervous. Not only had I told everyone the location, the time, but I had people coming in from out of town. When we came in to speak to this gentleman, the day before, he asked if possible, for a deposit of a thousand dollars to which I said no, not possible. Needless to say this was very upsetting. We still love Sonia's Seafood Market and Restaurant, and my father absolutely loved his birthday celebration. I just think that management has to be retrained and better organized when it comes to large parties. Their business etiquette has to change, definitely, very very poor. Our drinks were always refilled, the food came out in a timely manner, and he checked in just the right amount. We even had the chance to meet the owner, who was just as amazing and welcoming. You can truly tell when a restaurant takes pride in both its food and customer service. If you’re in the area, make sure you also try out DICED, they own that as well! Exceptional customer service like this truly elevates the entire experience. I’ll definitely be back and hope to have him again!

We visited today with our family and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, Leidys greeted us with a warm welcome, seated us, and ended up being our server as well. Her service was excellent. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt well taken care of the entire time. We never had to ask for drink refills or anything else because she was always checking on our table to make sure everything was perfect. The food was amazing! Our favorite dishes were the fried Pez Perro and the Paella!!!!! both were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning. Every time we visit, the experience just keeps getting better!

We’re visiting from Detroit and had an AMAZING experience at Sonia! Our waiter, Pedro, was absolutely excellent, attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Auto, and he was GREAT! You can truly feel the hospitality and pride in the atmosphere. If you’re in Miami, this place is a must-visit. Absolutely amazing experience! We came almost at closing time, and even then, the staff welcomed us warmly and never made us feel rushed. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—every dish tasted like it was made with real care. The seafood was perfectly cooked and incredibly fresh. This is most definitely a very cute hole in the wall kind of place. First time visiting while in Miami. Got conch fritters , very yummy and not at all soaked in oil- just perfect. The shrimp were not medium sized I would say extra small but still good flavor. The sangria was not my fav, not enough wine and too much ice made it get all watery quick. The service was very top notch and on point. So it didn’t hurt to get an automatic 15% service charge as the service provided was wonderful.

1st time there , unfortunately it was extremely raining on Saturday night, but still had great food- the tables were a bit close to others was my only issue . Good little concert of live music too . Keeping our beer cold , we had to get a bit creative for that .

Came to Sonia Seafood Market & Restaurant with my family after finding them online—we were in the mood for fresh seafood and decided to give it a shot. Overall, a great experience. The food came out fast and was delicious. We ordered the calamari, oysters, and seafood skewers, and everything hit the spot. The atmosphere was lively and family-friendly, with a gentleman playing live music that added a nice touch to the evening. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the parking situation. The lot is very tight, and cars are packed in close together. Fortunately, they have someone outside managing it and keeping an eye on the vehicles, which helped. Other than that, highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area and craving seafood.

We like to try different places to eat. Sonias sounded good. First red flag waitress did not speak English and expected my wife to translate to me and also parts of the menu. 2nd red flag no ice tea no listing of beverages other than alcoholic ones. 3rd red flag which we found out when paying is a 15% surcharge and then they expect you to leave a tip. We ordered fried calamari, blackened shrimp, grilled octopus, all came with 2 sides from a very limited side menu and flan for desert. Shrimp was cooked to long and very chewy and no flavor. Octopus was over cooked wife forced it down this has to be cooked perfect or its no good. Flan had to much condensed milk in it and the chocolate garnish was cooking chocolate very tart.Waitress was upset I didn't speak Spanish plus we always had to track her down for water or anything. Mind you the place was not busy.Getting to it is also a nightmare. Might have given it another chance but not with a 15% surcharge. Also don't go there when its raining you have very limited seating.

My Impression After three visits to this once-iconic Miami spot, it’s clear that for some time now the place has been under new management. Food My former favorite dish—now featured by the new owners—is the Grilled Seafood Skewer. Unfortunately, I haven’t ordered it again since the last time I was served it twice undercooked. As you can imagine, the taste of raw seafood on the palate is anything but pleasant. Service The experience begins with a sign at the entrance that states they reserve the right of admission. This sets the tone right away and almost predisposes you to expect less. It gives the impression that you won’t be allowed to demand the quality usually associated with establishments of this kind—or at least that’s how it felt to me. Atmosphere The atmosphere can best be described as more than just “warm.” There’s no air conditioning, only fans recirculating the same air, often filled with the smell of fresh fish being sold on-site. To make matters worse, the beer is always served at the same temperature—warm—regardless of the time of day or the day of the week. Summary Not a place I’d return to.

As a market, I don't know. As a restaurant, I won't recommend this place. Went with my daughters, and honestly, I had a very bad experience. My daughters asked for some shrimp that came out first after 20 minutes wait. My order came out 10 minutes after that. My daughters complained about raw shrimp. After I tried, I realized it wasn't good at all. I told the waitress they didn't like it! At that point, the only option was to pay $105 for 3 portions of shrimp as shown on the picture with rice and fried potatoes. I felt scammed on this place! Don't recommend it !
