Opinions de Mario the Baker Pizza Miami
This is some of the best pizza in South Florida. It's fresh, it's hot, and it's tasty. The service is quick and the pizza comes out even quicker. Plenty of pizza options to choose from and enough space to sit and dine in for lunch. I highly recommend 10/10
Delicious crispy cheesy, well seasoned pies!!! Its daily special is a nice treat ! If you are a NY style pizza lover, stop by next time you're in downtown Miami , you'll not be disappointed!!! Chicken wings and French fries are awesome, crispy, tender, juice wings !!! They're also open till late hours ! Also, Isabelle is awesome. She provides great customer service! ✨️👏👏👏 I love it !!! Can't get enough of it !!! 🔥
Although it's now 2 slices and a drink for 7.00. It's so worth it. This establishment is always well-maintained and organized and very clean. I have been coming here since 2013 and will continue to do so.
The slices are amazing have great flavor Stromboli is good as hell
I’ve searched far and wide in Miami for a good pizza after coming down from NJ and have had numerous terrible pizzas. Happened to find Mario’s today and I am SO EXCITED this pizza is everything you want in a pizza, right amount of sauce and cheese and crispy crust. Also do 2 slices and a drink for $7 so it’s a good deal.
Amazing pizza! Perfect New York slice and great price!
Excellent ambiance, the food was delicious and fresh, the attention supreme. 100% recommend it!
The cheese pizza so good. Daily deal. 2 slices of cheese and a fountain soda $8.10 with tax, great deal.
Love this place my go to for lunch with there $5.49 special for 2 slices and a free drink!! Ordering for delivery for the family at night is always a pleasure and they greet me by name every time i call ❤️
The best pizza I've had in a long while. A beautiful home made experience.
Waiting is long and bathrooms are poor but the food is AMAZING! Must come here. But if you come here late and order a slice of pizza it will be cold. Other than that the place is awesome!
Great pizza. I got the pepperoni slices and they were a good size. The lunch special is good. 2 slices of pizza and a drink for $7.
We are very happy to have this pizza place around the corner from our office. The pizza is delicious, fresh, high quality ingredients, good value for money. The staff is super nice. The lady on the counter, so lovely, the management. The pizza makers.
🇮🇹High inflation has plagued the food industry, and is easily passed to consumers. Here, for just $7, you get two large slices of pizza with a refillable fountain drink. You really can't beat it - they truly deliver value. 🍕
Awesome NY pizza !! Thank you!! I wrote a full review on my husband’s account. Check it out under Hank Holbrook
At first Doordash screwed me up so I didn’t get my first order. After calling Mario the Baker the gentleman wanted to rectify the situation immediately by suggesting other ideas. I also realize that this virus has taken a toll on all of us so I held out. For over an hour I waited for my food then when I finally got it I realized it was well worth it. I had wings and a sub and started on the wings. I couldn’t stop eating them along with the blue cheese dressing. There’s no doubt in my mind who I’m calling next time. If that was that good what about the pizza? Woah!
By far my favorite pizza downtown Miami. All super fresh ingredients. Diego and Isabel are always extremely nice and welcoming
Absolutely love the pizza at this establishment. There was a mistake on my order, I Didn’t care about it (garlic rolls missing), not a big deal. But they made it right by sending it along with something extra for the trouble. Also, delivery was on time
Best pizza in Miami. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I moved here from New York 8 years ago and it's been my go-to for as long as I can remember. Customer service is just as good as the food. Zero complaints EVER!
A bit pricey but worth it! The people were super nice and the food was DELICIOUS!! Had 2 medium pizzas and a set of 10 wings. Dedinitely would recommend. Only downside is theres a lot of homeless on the street.
Honestly he has the best Ny style white slice around. Anyone leaving this man bad reviews is crazy. I have tried so much pizza since moving from ny and Mario does it the best
The pizza us here is always fresh and delicious. They use top quality ingredients and it's always delicious. The $5.99 special gets you 2 cheese slices and a soda.
The only great pizza in downtown Miami in my opinion. Great, friendly people. Being from NYC, I am really picky about my pizza, but Mario the Baker is authentic, thin crust pizza. Check them out...
This place is awesome! Great staff and super friendly also. Highly recommend :)
The best traditional, NY Style Pizza, period The power of simple things. Perfect crust, the right amount of cheese, quality ingredients and nice service. The right type of place for having two delicious slices and keep on going. Great prices as well.
Ordered a tray of tiramisu for delivery to the office. Diego helped me out, quoted me a price; and gave me a 15 min window for delivery. The order arrived at the very beginning of that window and they included spoons. The taste of the dessert was delicious. Everyone in the office loved the flavor and kept asking where the desserts were from. Please keep in mind that Mario’s tiramisu uses a cake instead of the traditional lady fingers some people prefer, but that honestly made no difference to me. It was delicious.
NJ/ NY style pizza with great ingredients, humble service . The entire staff seems extremely friendly, and the crust was perfect toasted like how they make it up north! I will visit here every time I’m in the area! If someone doesn’t like pizza, they don’t know what they’re talking about! Great music in the background too!
Love this place. Pizza always good.
The staff are friendly and the portions of the food are enough to feed two people.
I haven't been here for awhile I remember that the pizza was pretty good. After having been to several pizza restaurants that have 4 plus star ratings in the Brickell downtown Miami area, that I was disappointed with I came here. Their pizza is reasonably priced and it tastes good. Sause not acidic or sweet. Yeasty dough- pizza doesn't blow your mind ( maybe it will) but decent. If you're in the area give it a try. I believe I ordered a XL cheese pizza for under $20. And by the way it did satisfy my pizza craving. An up date there pizza is legit and I think it deserves 5 stars ( probably 10 visits in the last 2 months). Cheese pizza is good I can't vouch for the rest of the food. Lite bake on the pizza is good 😊 I'm proud to be an American, born and raised in Miami Florida. Palmetto High School rocks!
Best pizza in the city for classic New York style. Call them directly for delivery for the best service
If you're looking for a chill spot with awesome pizza, Mario the Baker is the place! Grabbed a slice recently and it was delish! The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. Can't wait to go back! 🍕
I don't understand why this place has 3.7 stars only. Best pizza in the Sunshine State, ya gotta try it.
Really not sure why this place has a low rating. My husband and I are from up north and this place is easily the best in Miami if your looking for New York style. The quality, price, and overall taste is amazing! I personally love their supreme style and just ask for it to be cooked well done. Crust is perfect, and sauce to toppings ratio is on point. We love Mario The Baker!
The food is always soooo good when I go there. I always get full off of the 2 for $6 meal which comes with two slices of pizza and a drink. The pizza slices are huge and always warmed to perfection. The pepperoni pizza could be a little salty but overall one of my favorite pizza places in Miami!
I ordered lasagna and chicken cacciatore for catering and it was amazing delicious and enough for more than 25 people. The pizza and the Stromboli are delicious as well. The employees are very friendly and helpful, makes me feel welcome . The owner was also very nice. Definitely, we’re going to order for the next party. Highly recommend this pizzeria.
Look no further for TRUE NY PIZZA! I was serving jury duty and stopped in for lunch. Immediately I was taken back in time to my favorite Brooklyn pizza joint! The aroma, the atmosphere ,and the people, were a product of my home town! I ordered a plain cheese slice and one pepperoni &mushroom . From the first bite to the last it was delicious!!!! I spoke to the owner and he told me he was originally from the same area of Brooklyn I came from. I kind of knew it when I walked in the door! What a nice man!! After my jury duty service, I went back and ordered 2 slices to go!! I can’t wait to go back. I’m a customer for life!!!
It's the best pizza in this part of Miami. Two slice special for 7.50 (which is great prices for the area). Only negative is that it's not open late for when you're done with the bar. Dive atmosphere. Usually not that busy.
A must visit place, I totally recommend. It was my first time here and I already making this my Pizzeria hangout joint …🤩 Pizza is fresh and crispy totally NY Italian Style!!! The place is immaculate and the dining tables are like that family cozy feeling. The staff is friendly and prices agreeable. A+✔️
Between the consistently great pizza and the outstanding staff, Mario the Baker is a true Downtown Miami staple and a place I’ll keep coming back to.
Good pizza, weird vibe with the street people coming in panhandling. Maybe don't eat in, order out
Visiting from out of town. They had the best pizza I've had in a long time. I kind of wish we lived closer to make this a regular spot.
Mario's is a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant that has been in business for about 40 years in downtown Miami. Even though it needs some upgrading, it is still popular among the business crowd in this area. Most everyone walks to this place because parking is pretty much taken by others. It's typical for small businesses in the downtown area. But the food is good and the place is packed at lunchtime. We were there today for a business errand and had lunch at Mario's. He is a hard worker and even took our orders himself. They are fast here with your orders. I ordered the eggplant pasta, and my daughter ordered the meat lasagna with garlic rolls. Both were very good. We had water with our meals. We will be returning here again in the future.
Mario's the Baker has served the Miami crowd for almost 40 years in Miami. The downtown location needs some upgrading, but it is still popular among the business crowd in this area. The food is good and the place is packed at lunchtime. Delicious crispy cheesy, well seasoned pies!!! Its daily special is a nice treat ! If you are a NY style pizza lover this is your spot. Great friendly staff.
Great lunch spot downtown. Special of the day two slices of pizza and a drink seven dollars. You can’t beat it.
Food is good , place is very small so I order take out. Customer Service is excellent. I have had some of their chicken dishes and pizza.
I ordered online so I can only write about the pizza, however the order was on time...I arrived 5 minutes early to pick up my pizza and it was ready. One of the pizza was good and perfect cheese and ham so the second one had a little mess inside the box...this is the reason that I didn't give them 5 stars. If you want to get a pizza faster for a good price I recommend you but check if you order online.
Place needs a little bit of an update on interior, but cashier was freindly and pizzas where nice and crunchy. One thing about Miami is that crust is always a tad soft. That's coming from someone like me that lived in New York for so long. I always ask for the pizza to be heated for 2-3 extra minutes for the crunch, but this place had it on point.
Food arrived on time. Everything was delicious. The lasagna was tasty. The wings were great and that garlic bread was fire. A little pricey but not bad.
Next to the court house and to JJ Sub place. It has plenty of seating. The menu board is updated with multiple price increases of available food items (hand written). Atmosphere is a little stuffy air. Chicken parmigiana want bad, but the chicken is in the firm of strips and in small amounts compared to the bread. Plenty of cheese, and little tomato succe. The lunch special ($7) for 2 spices of pizza and a fountain drink isn't bad in price, but the pizza slices are thin and small. Overall, good could be much better, especially with the increase in prices.
The food is okay. Tried the baked ziti but it left a lot to be desired.. although, their garlic rolls are good. Also, I would only carry-out, not dine here.
The LUNCH Special is 2 slices and a drink for $7.00. I could not handle two slices so I ordered one and a drink. $7.50! Needed to wash my hands and ventured into their disgustingly filthy bathroom…The pizza was nothing to write home about. The business is the only eatery near the Courthouse, so that is the crowd. Downtown Miami, impossible parking. Homeless outside of the business, panhandling…
Honestly, I had higher expectations reading several reviews about Mario the Baker. The restaurant was clean, the menu quite extensive but I think our turned to be somewhat expensive for what it offers. The food was okay, flavors could be improved. There are better options around. That being said, you'll get food, friendly staff in a clean restaurant room.
Pizza is delicious but the woman with the glasses who works in the afternoon/evening shift is god awful, she is really rude and has no customer service. I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt but the second time I went she was still really rude and mean.
Walking around downtown looking for a place to eat, we wondered into. Mario the Baker. Old time look and feel of that old pizzeria restaurant. Big menu on the wall offering everything italian, from pizzas to baked ziti. We bot decided for the baked ziti. Wife ordered it with meat sauce and I with chicken. After about 20 minutes we got our food which was large in quantity. Flavor was good though mine was a little watery on the sauce. The meat sauce though was really good and I would order it next time.
Low quality food. Got the lasagna and it was greasy, with very little and bad quality meat. Garlic bread was good though.
It's really sad that an italian "restaurant" is not even able to cook spaghetti corectly, or even cook them for the customer. It's like little aluminium dishes that they take off their freezer, 30 sec in the microwave and there you go, pay 15$ for that. Really really disapointing, the only edible thing was their garlic breads, that they give you with your dish, but I don't recommand you to try it. Sorry if my english is not good, I'm from France and I really disliked that "restaurant".
The pizza was soggy and the toppings were buried beneath the cheese. The ingredient quality was poor. The service was quick and friendly. This is a good grab a slice for lunch spot, but I probably won’t be back to order a whole pie.
Disappointing is the most positive thing I can say about this "pizza" place. Cheese must-have been cheese at one point before it became melted gross goo. Pepperoni, if real, was bland and greasy. Next time I'll eat across the street at Burger King.
The food is good. The reason I have two stars is because I gave specific instructions through the Slice App so that the delivery driver doesn't have to deal with security and because I don't have the phone that security calls to let me know that I have a visitor. The driver did not follow instructions, he calls me right when he gets there instead of 10 minutes before like I asked (so that I can walk downstairs and receive the delivery without the driver having to go in) and contains about the security. I tell him that this was the reason I said to call me 10 minutes before and instead of listening and taking it as advice to read instructions next time, he tries to scold me about him having to wait outside for five minutes for me to come downstairs (If he would have called me 10minutes before like I asked, I would have been waiting for him and this would have been avoided). When I tried to explain the reason for my instructions to him, he just walked away and got in his car. He was very rude as I tried to calmly let him know what was happening and he would not listen.
I ordered from Postmates ( the restaurant is called Nico’s Italian Ristorante). The pasta wasn’t baked. It tasted like the noodles were warm up in the microwave, and the meatballs had the consistency of a very bad hamburger. I wouldn’t recommend.
I use to eat here all the time..then I stopped for a while.. went back today and the people who take your order are nice, especially the lady she always smiles and greets me well. However the man who is behind the register I think is the manager or owner isn't very customer service friendly and gives off negative energy. Today I wasn't feeling him at all.. this will probably be my last time here. Where I spend my money matters. Customer service is a plus for me.
Ordered a veggie pie, it was gross. The slices looked better. My pie looked bad, tasted bad, and the people who served it to us kicked us out as soon as they handed us the pie because it was close to closing time. Also, I feel like crap after eating it.
Three cheese pizza is horrible!! Ordered a larger pizza and it was soggy in the middle on arrival . Called to ask if I could switch it for a straight cheese pizza HOT and the owner said no because that what I ordered!!! Waste of $50 with tip and we didn’t eat any of it!! I would have considered checking them out again if they were so harsh about not taking back a cold soggy pizza.
On Uber eats they have different name but same address feels like scam I ordered chicken wings looks different in pics and in real life feels like it’s 7/11 wings Nothing wrong with 7/11 but if I wanted their wings I would have ordered from there and for much cheaper Anyways I’m not happy about this place
If i could leave no stars i would because this is totally ridiculous!!! I ordered food from here for takeout via Ubereats and let me tell you i can not believe this is what they’re selling to people. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, which i paid extra for. Both the pasta and chicken had absolutely no taste not even salt. The portion of chicken served on top was totally unacceptable for the extra charge. Calamari was over cooked and oily. This was supposed to be $40 worth of food that had to be thrown out because of how nasty and inedible it was. I’m completely disgusted and will make sure i get my money back because this right here is what you call a rip off! Not my hard earned money no siree!!!!!
The second pizza I ordered was supposed to be arugula and capicola ham. Instead they gave me pizza with spinach and regular ham- not capicola. Whoever made that pizza or whoever took the order was high.
This is literally the WORST food i have ever eaten the chiken alfredo tasted like water down milk. The wings were tasted like if they were rotten and the meatballs tasted like rubbery old meat. I really dont know how they are even able to stay open.
Visiting from Texas to tired to go out, had Mario’s delivered. Vodka sauce and Alfredo sauce were both very bland. Had I been at the restaurant I would of send them back. Very disappointing
Bad people. Ordered a couple of pizzas at 7:30. With an estimated 8:10-8:25 delivery. Called at 8:15 and said it he did was leaving in a few minutes. 8:45 they said he’s on his x way! After several calls I got my food at 9:45. Driver said he just left. Just be honest.
So I ordered the first time from this location, and ordered a calzone. The size of the calzone was a pretty nice size, and ingredients were fresh. But it just was Bland and didn't have any flavor to the calzone at all, including the pepperoni topping I added. Then the delivery took long, much longer than the said time, but I eventually got it. Then I decided to give this location a second try with the calzone again, and that was a big mistake! I placed the order for a calzone with pepperoni from Eat24. Almost 2 hours later I never received my order, and they told me that it left the restaurant a while before. But it just never made it to me for some reason. So after almost 2 hours, I called Eat24 and cancelled the order and that was that! Honestly, I think they need to fix their delivery. If I'm not mistaken, they use a third party service, and their just horrible beyond belief! I'm going to stop ordering from them mostly because of the delivery issues. This place has been a staple in South Florida for many many many years. But as of the last few years at least, all or most of the locations have went downhill completely. Even the quality of the food is just not the same as it used to be. I'm just very disappointed on what all or most of the locations have become!
Undercooked mozzarella sticks. Garlic rolls are tasteless and dipped into a bucket of oil. Pizza has tasteless cheese with burnt crust. Told them we did not like the garlic rolls and they said to leave it on a table. Didn't offer a remake or refund of any kind... i don't recommend this place at all!!!
My pizza, in addition to being soggy, has no tomato sauce in it. I ordered the pizza through UberEats and they don’t make it clear in their menu, that this pizza doesn't have tomato sauce. I ended up with a pizza without tomato sauce, soggy, and cold.
They're the same place as "Nico's Ristorante" which is a delivery only place. We got the food and it looked nothing like the photo, description of the food might as well be made up because there is no way they're tasting these disgusting plates. From the overly buttered garlic bread, which shockingly tasted like cardboard, to the chicken alfredo which you can compare by closing your eyes and eating oxygen. Tasteless and bland, reminds me of a day old cafeteria food. Even the salad. I mean how can you mess up salad? The ingredients they use must be the cheapest ingredients you can find on the market. Picture was covered in salami, actual delivered food had about 3 pieces of salami. If you order from here you can guarantee you'll be disappointed. Never again. They don't even deserve one star.
I had a horrible experience at Mario the baker at this location in Brickell . I ordered 12” meat lovers pizza and 10 pcs chicken wings . It took them 45 minutes to get the food ready. When I asked the manager about the reason why for this delay. She gave me a bad attitude and turned her face and wakes in the back kitchen . I was very polite to her but she treated me the least professional way ! Would you consider to give your mangers some basic customer service training?! The manager is a Hispanic female , big size wearing sport swat shirt and black tight . She wears glasses too . I don’t want to mention her name hier . I’d think twice before going back to this location. Elevate !
Placed an order on DoorDash. Received a phone call from Doordash stating that Mario the Baker was "out of stock" of the cannoli I ordered. So I chose spaghetti and meatballs. For delivery to a hotel room. They did not include a fork or any utensils, no napkins. How does one eat spaghetti without a fork?? Tried a few strands with my fingers because I had been traveling all day and was starving. No parmesan cheese. Bland tasting. Cheese bread has no cheese on it. I called and told them they did not include a fork. They said they would send someone over with a fork. No one ever came. Paid an overpriced $33 for a gross meal that I couldn't even eat. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.
Told me 50 mins and it took them 1.5 hours. I called you ask about it and the lady got an attitude. Then when they arrived, I got a pizza that smooshed into a mess. So i called you ask about it and they told me they had to ask the driver and i couldn't do anything about it. So i wasted $20 on a mess that I couldn't eat.
Horrible food, horrible customer service, ordered on DoorDash and the lady answering phone promised to cancel after their delivery guy wasn’t available and then when I called back was trying to force me to cancel so I would take the penalties instead of this low quality, disgusting, disgrace of a business. Wasting my time, have to call DoorDash and complain now to get my money which is my right as they never delivered the food
I work across the street from this pizza place and I usually have the two slice special but today I decided to try an oven sub and it was the worst decision of my life. I ordered the veal and peppers sub. People must not order that sub often because the veal tasted like the back of a fridge it was so bad and plastic not fresh at all. The bread was soaked in sauce with no flavor and I had to wait 15 minutes for it which was half of my break. The whole thing cost almost $18 which I regret spending. The pizza is just ok. I add my own salt because they barely season anything and my stomach was so upset afterward. I don’t think they’ve bought fresh veal in years. I’ll just stick to the pizza. Update 5/8/2023 this restaurant gyped me again! They are going as Nico’s Italian restaurants on Uber eats. I reiterate again THEIR FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING I ordered the calamari and the spaghetti and sausage. They didn’t even cut up the sausages! It was hard and old and the spagetti sauce was so bitter literally inedible. They garlic bread was DRENCHED in oil and the calamari was over breaded and tough it was so nasty. Stop misleading people! I would never order here if I knew it was Mario’s.
Ordered a meatball sub. $13 for 3 small meatballs in a 10 inch sub. RIPOFF!!! The food has no flavor. How insulting to Italian cuisine this place is. No wonder there not IN NYC because they would be out of business by now. They couldn't keep up with real food made right..
I ordered a chicken parm sub here one time, and the guy started making it and dropped the loaf of bread on the floor. He picked up the bread and continued making the sandwich. He looked right at me too. I asked him if he was going to keep making the sandwich with the bread that fell on the floor and he said yes. I asked for a refund, left and never went back. I don’t know how this place stays in business. Eat here at your own risk.
Worst Alfredo pasta i ever had in my life
Don't spend your money there.I ordered a meat lovers medium and 2 liter coke. It got delivered but wasn't the right pizza. They charged me $40.88 for a medium cheese pizza and 2liter coke. Called back and explained to them. They said it was a mistake and would send another out. But a few minutes later the manager called and he said it was my fault for ordering the wrong pizza. I explained to him that the receipt stated meat lovers also. But for some reason it was still my fault. Hopefully the will get the next person's order right. That don't look like a meat lovers too me. Lol
Worst cheesesteak I’ve ever had. They don’t cut any of the vegetables and the onions are RAW which tastes terrible. Sandwiches are smashed. Gave us mayo packets and didn’t even put mayo on the sandwich. Sent me fries instead of onion rings! Total failure.
I bought a Shrimp Alfredo pasta for $21 and it only came with five shrimp. To make matters worse, they still had the shells on! I called the restaurant, and they confirmed that the shrimp in their Alfredo sauce come with the shell on—the first time in my life I've ever seen that. The sauce was completely flavorless and it is absolutely not worth spending $21 on a pasta with no flavor.
