Opinions de The River Oyster Bar Miami
The River Seafood and Oyster Bar is, without exaggeration, the best seafood restaurant in Miami. We ordered the hamachi and it was outstanding fresh and perfectly executed. The oysters with caviar were absolutely delicious, elegant and full of flavor. The crab cake was top-tier, packed with real crab and no unnecessary filler. The scallops with lentils were incredible, beautifully balanced and cooked to perfection. The service was flawless from start to finish attentive, professional, and exactly what you expect from a restaurant at this level. Without a doubt, far superior to Joe’s Stone Crab and other places that rely more on their name than on the actual experience. If you’re looking for truly great seafood, exceptional execution, and first class service, try this place. You won’t regret it.
I had an excellent experience at The River Oyster Bar. From the moment we sat down, our server Jeffrey made our visit truly memorable. He was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, professional, and attentive throughout the entire meal. He also had a great sense of humor, which made the experience even more enjoyable. His recommendations for the oysters and other menu items were outstanding easily some of the best oysters in town in my opinion. The service didn’t stop there the manager also came by multiple times to check on us and make sure everything was perfect, which really shows the level of care and attention they provide to their guests. The atmosphere was beautiful, with a great aesthetic and environment. The location is very convenient, especially being so close to Brickell City Centre. And I have to mention the music the playlist was such a vibe and added so much to the overall experience. Everything from the service, to the food, to the ambiance was exceptional. I would highly recommend The River Oyster Bar to anyone looking for amazing seafood and an all-around wonderful dining experience. I can’t wait to come back!
Great place for seafood, especially the oysters. Highly recommend the sweet Florida oysters. Had the skirt steak 🥩, mashed potatoes which was good. The pumpkin 🎃 cheesecake, a seasonal dessert, was amazing! Highly recommended during the holidays. Atmosphere was nice and cozy. Great for a large group of people. Service was excellent! Very attentive.
On my first visit to The River Oyster Bar in Miami, the experience was memorable from start to finish. The staff were welcoming and attentive, striking that balance between professionalism and warmth that makes you feel at ease right away. The oysters lived up to the restaurant’s reputation, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But the surprise highlight came at dessert. On the waiter’s recommendation, I tried a dish that played with hot and cold elements at once. It was unexpected, inventive, and the perfect way to end the meal. With attentive service, standout oysters, and a dessert that defies expectations, The River Oyster Bar left a strong impression. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to return, not just for the food, but for the overall experience.
Good place to eat really nice oysters, they have also roasted oysters in their pizza oven. I loved all the food and the drinks. I recommend their Bloody Mary. I give 4 stars for service only, because our first waiter did not take care about us. Then his shift was over and we got a new waiter and she took care much better.
One of my favorite restaurants in Brickell. We were so hungry we forgot to take more pictures. We ordered the cod croquettes, calamari, deviled eggs with caviar, shrimp cocktail, Peruvian chicken, mahi mahi. We for drinks we had the fresh watermelon with vodka and the green mile which were notch excellent. For dessert we had the coconut cake which was a huge piece that is similar to tres leches, also delicious. 15/10
Beautiful, upscale, yet quaint. Two words… Happy Hour!!! Oysters were absolutely delicious. I could have eaten 36 by myself. Our waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable about our dishes and indulged our questions about the dishes being brought to the table next to us. Needless to say we were planning our next meal. The menu changes often so if you find something you like order it twice!! We had the lamb meatballs (DELISH) and liver pâté’on toast (different). Truly a staple of Miami Best food without all the fuss!
The oysters were fantastic tonight so was the happy hour special. The bar area was super crowded as it was a Thursday night after work crowd. Will definitely have to return here again for a full sit-down meal the next visit. Overall the River Oyster Bar is a beautiful establishment and a great experience!
One of the best meals I've had in the city! Was looking for a great seafood experience and was lead here. The ceviche was fantastic, absolutely full of flavor. The raw Yellowtail app is delicious as well, with a nice yuzu and sesame flavor making it very Japanese tasting. We also happened to come on lobster night which is a great deal. The 30 dollar grilled lobster with udon was amazing! Had to go for the fried Yellowtail Snapper with Chinese sauce for the entree. Everything was incredible! Server was attentive and kind.
Came to The River Oyster Bar on a whim and made it for happy hour. I’m personally an oyster addict and the oysters did not disappoint! The flatbread was also tasty. The ambience and atmosphere were very nice. Service was decent as staff took a while.
The oysters here are outstanding. The Skipper Sweets got me hooked — small, incredibly fresh, and delightfully sweet, just like the name promises.
This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in miami and the oyster happy hour is insane. $2 per oyster in brickell city center? We always order atleast 40 oysters, the crab roll was amazing, the ceviche is so so good and the spinach is on point. Not a big fan of the baked oysters or the potatoes. We always end with the coconut cake, which is absolutely huge and reminds us of brazilian cakes Oh and let me not forget the bread with the bitter and olive paste. Servers are a little peculiar with distinct personalities, however, this just adds to the ambience.
The River Oyster Bar in Miami delivered an outstanding seafood experience. We started with the lobster bisque, a rich, velvety, and deeply flavorful starter. The roasted oysters were a true highlight—plump, fresh, and beautifully enhanced by a subtle smoky finish. For our main courses, the gnocchi were incredibly light and tender, served in a delicate sauce. The linguini and clams were equally impressive, a perfectly executed classic with fresh, sweet clams in a delicious, garlicky broth. Every dish showcased fresh ingredients and skilled preparation. Highly recommended for seafood lovers in Miami!
One of the best seafood restaurants in Miami! What truly sets this place apart from the other is the quality of the seafood, the service and the desserts. We came on a Thursday night and did not have a reservation, but we were lucky enough to find some spots at the communal table. Reservations are a must here because it’s a very popular happy hour place. The dirty martini with blue cheese olives was solid! For starters, we shared a dozen oysters, tried them all and they were amazing! We also had the wedge salad, which was just ok. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the lemon butter sauce was divine. The mushroom crusted black grouper was definitely unique and equally delicious. If you enjoy ending your meal with dessert, you have to try the guava cheesecake! It’s smooth and creamy, slightly tart with the most decadent guava coulis on top. Could not stop eating it until the last bite! Stephanie was our waitress and she was fantastic. Very attentive and she also gave us great recommendations on what to order. We will definitely try the happy hour here next. Loved the ambiance.
I’ve been visiting River Oyster Bar for a few years. Although I loved the old location this new restaurant is really cool and modern. The crab brown rice is one of my favourite dishes. I don’t know how they make it so tasty. The tuna tartare is excellent too!!! Yesterday we had Sonny S as our server and he was lovely, cheery and efficient. We will be back - tonight - even. Too many dishes I want to try!!
I think in all my trips to Miami and the to the restaurants I’ve visited, this was by far one of the best in terms of taste, ambience and vibe. Definitely would recommend for a great seafood experience.
this place is amazing when it comes to their happy hour oysters. which honestly, I believe they have the best happy hour. which is available everyday throughout the week. the shining star of the happy hour are the oysters. the price is unbeatable for only 1.75 and there’s no minimum!! for the price the quality is amazing. I will be returning. thank you so much!!!
Great location and awesome service. I sat inside for lunch- fresh oysters, goat cheese croquettes that I can only describe as "sexy" and a mahi sandwich that was so good, 3 other people around me at the bar ordered it. Did I mention some incredibly delicious (but really filling) yucca fries? If I move to Miami (and I hope to in the next year) I like this spot so much I want to get a job here.
My partner and I came here to celebrate my 40th birthday. We received a very warm welcome from David, our server. He made some great recommendations for cocktails and helped us to decide on our entrees and side dishes. Food was amazing and the attentive service by David made our evening perfect. Many thanks!
The whole experience was excellent. Our (reserved) party of 6 was seated immediately and our server, Charles, was very attentive throughout the evening and knowledgeable about the dishes. The variety of oysters was a huge hit, as were the 'tiradito', mussels, and aguachile. Our shared mains and sides were spectacular too: linguine with seafood, whole fried snapper, blackened wahoo, crab fried rice, Brussel sprouts. Definitely somewhere to go again and bring new friends. Only warning: I didn't see any adjacent street parking and it's on a 1-way street. The entry to (valet) parking is before the building so if one of our party hadn't already been there we would have had to circle the block which, on a SAT night in downtown, could take more than 20 min.
Great spot in Brickell. Waling distance from city center. Phenomenal oyster deals even when its not happy hour. Great cocktails too. Quick service.
AMAZING, simply put. My partner and I are both restaurant industry and we were really pleased with the whole experience. They executed the cross cultural use of seafood exquisitely. Fish curry was beautifully balanced and spicy, could use some changes to presentation - maybe a bowl. Scallops and lentils were beautifully cooked and the presentation did it justice. Crab appetizer was great, nice that they cut the shell for you. Snapper tartar with wasabi pearls was nicely balanced and well seasoned. Coconut cake, (huge by the way), was a great finish.
I always get the best service and the best food here. Great selection of oysters and seafood, everything is so fresh and tasty. Thank you The River staff for always doing an excellent job and making my birthday last night extra special.
Visited The River Oyster Bar in Brickell, Miami, and it was an exquisite experience! This hidden gem boasts a delectable menu, featuring the freshest oysters and expertly crafted seafood dishes. To complement the divine flavors, they offer an extensive and impressive wine selection to suit every palate. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, paired with top-notch service, made for a truly memorable evening. The only hiccup was the excessive number of messages received prior to our reservation, which was slightly annoying. However, it didn't detract from the overall fantastic experience. Highly recommended for an unforgettable dining experience in the heart of Brickell!
One of the best dining experiences in Brickell and even better than I remember. I last dined in at their previous location down 8th and Miami Ave. Regardless, their new location is even more luxurious, inviting, and has a nice open feel to it with two sections north side and south side that give you privacy from the bar atmosphere. The gnocchi with crab is probably a fan favorite as our table ordered 3! The oyster ceviche with the lime and jalapeño zest from the traditional Tigre leche was a good starting appetizer, especially if you want to sample some osteria caviar. The brussel sprouts were a great side dish as it was more on the salad side and not roasted or charred or overly seasoned; so a fresh take, if you will. Hoping to go back again soon. By the way don’t forget to ask for the house cornbread to keep you occupied between the appetizers and main entree, because it was better than other notoriously famous for cornbread spots.
The food is delicious. I've got the happy hours oysters, then the AHI POKE, and it's Amazingggggg. Then, Thai barbecue ribs are too die for. The spicy wahoo curry is phenomenal. Overall, I have a great experience. The restaurant has a high ceiling, and the tables are not too close to each other. They also have a section for a big group too. The location is easy to find, right next to the parking garage. I will recommend this place to my friends if they are looking for a seafood place.
Recently had one of the BEST dinners in recent memory! Arrived at prime time on a Friday night (7 pm). Restaurant was packed, yet was sat promptly by Stephanie, the friendly Hostess. Herman, our bilingual server, was quick to greet us, and bring cocktails. First course, snapper tartar, Hamachi sashimi&, grilled octopus, all amazing! Next, Blue crab gnocchi, sweet and spicy salmon on fried rice & grilled scallops. All seafood was SO Fresh! Please do not miss this experience! Truly awesome!!
this is a great seafood restaurant with good prices and excellent service and food. started with Shrimp cocktail served with 3 different dipping sauce, Cerviche, kale salad, and Thai ribs. all could be a meal and were delicious and fresh. I finished with yellowtail snapper that was perfectly cooked and seasoned. must stop in and try.
Their squid ink pasta is so delicious. Baked lobster is yummy as well. Salmon belly tartare is not ideal, too much sauce in it. Their oysters don’t have shell fragments in them anymore cuz they fired the guy who doesn’t know how to open oysters. Our server said he has been working here for 13 years. He’s very good at recommending their menu. Will come back.
One of the best stops in downtown Miami and you cannot beat their fresh oysters during happy hour at a buck fifty a piece. Rest of the food is fantastic too especially the duck tacos, bahn mi, and sashimi. You can't go wrong with ordering anything in the menu, they're all worth a try.
Great food and service! Our favorite dishes were the mushroom crusted grouper served with mashed potatoes. Bread basket was great it consisted of Tex Lex corn bread and sesame white along with olive tapenade. Truffle gnocchi was good too. Serving of pot of mussels was very generous and flavorful!
One of my most favorite happy hour spots! Pretty restaurant, great service, yummy food options! I really appreciate the standard cocktail menu up on the board. They have cocktails that you don't often see, looking at you NY sour, vessel, boulevardier! These are cocktails that your average diner isn't aware of never mind being standard on a menu. Just awesome. Favorites are the oysters naturally, then deviled eggs, and let's leave room for dessert shall we?! The sticky toffee pudding cake was next level as was the pot de creme! Inhaled both! Overall River Oyster is a great place for happy hour or dinner for delicious food, drink in a beautiful airy ambiance. Check them out!
The food was delicious. We got the deviled eggs , the crab cakes , oysters , fish sandwich and the branzino. If you want good quality seafood I recommend you check them out. Also great location and happy hour.
Good selection on happy hour menu including the oysters. Variety on dinner menu, however didn't order from it because I enjoyed a several selections from happy hour. Service was great from the minute you walked in.
Looked for the oysters place for a long time and finally found this one! What a surprise it was to find out they are participating at Miami Spice Mounts 2023! We went for oysters but couldn’t resist trying more. Salmon Belly Tartare was delightful. Adding black truffle makes this dish very refined. Sweet&Spicy Kind Salmon was really King-size but for me the fish’s crust was too sweet less spicy and brown rice was too salty. Wood roasted nectarine from nowadays will be my favorite dessert! They have quite a wide selection of oysters. All tasty! When we entered staff asked as if we would like to have quite dinner or try something from their happy-our menu (3-7pm hours ish). Keep in mind that part of the restaurant where happy-hours menu orders are served is quite noisy. Also I didn’t really like the tone with which the waitress warned me that we can’t share between two of us items from Miami Spice Menu. It was a bit weird, confusing and rude. The rule which I have never heard before in other restaurants. Truthfully I wasn’t going to but by the end of the evening I couldn’t let go and romantically/ flirtatiously share even my desert with my companion
So so good. We went on a Tuesday night and there was this lobster special for like $20 a dish. Amazing. Oysters are super fresh at $3 in normal hours, half price during happy hours. Extended menu of European wines. Their corn bread is delicious. Dessert is big and tasty. Very recommended. Atmosphere and staff are great. It is quite difficult to find a parking spot in the area.
This was one of the best, most sexiest meal that I have had in a long time. Our server, Herman made our experience spectacular. He was knowledgeable, charismatic, honest and friendly. The drinks were amazing. We got the El Monstro (?) and it has dragon fruit and a tajin rim. The oysters we tried from Rocky Shore (PEI) were our favorite. My bf got the Gnocchi with lump crab and I got the scallops. They both melted in our mouths. The lump crab were plentiful in the gnocchi and Herman made a good recommendation when he said it tastes like it was made with so much love. This is a place you come back to again and again. I can’t stop thinking about it and I know I will be back soon.
TL;DR: This restaurant made me enjoy seafood. Normally not a fan but the dishes were superbly prepared and absolutely delicious. Specific Foods: Red Snapper Curry: 9.6/10 (I would eat this every day if I could) Butterflied-Boneless Yellowtail Snapper: 8.5/10 Special Attention: They have a big happy hour scene so it was a little loud and boisterous from that. General Wait Time for 1/2 dishes: 20-30 min General Comments: Dog-friendly
We absolutely loved this restaurant and ended up coming here twice during our trip. Both times, we started with the oysters, which were absolutely amazing, and then opted for seafood dishes. The octopus I had was delicious, and my parents couldn’t stop raving about how fresh and flavorful the fish was. Highly recommend!
The River Oyster bar is definitely a place to check out! Our service was nothing short of amazing & accommodating for specific dietary needs. We absolutely loved the gazpacho soup and grilled octopus appetizers! Our entrees were amazing as well. We had the gnocchi & seared mahi mahi. Would definitely recommend visiting for great ambiance, food & service! The only complaint would be that google maps does not have the correct location, therefore it was a bit difficult when trying to locate this restaurant.
Had a pleasant experience sitting at the bar during happy hour on a Wednesday. I was a party of 1 so the bartender did a great job recommending smaller dishes so I could try a few different things off the menu vs. ordering 1 large entree. The oysters are fresh, and they do have some of them on the happy hour menu too- very tasty! I also tried the snapper tartare, which was pretty good for an appetizer to split with a few different folks. The sauce the snapper was in was a bit too tangy for my liking, as a party of 1. The fried cauliflower was delicious- will look to order a fish entree on my next visit, paired with a side of that cauliflower. Highlight of the meal, they have the ingredients to make a Vesper martini- and the bartender knew what it was! (Look it up, its very tasty!)
So good, you almost don't want to leave a review and just keep it to yourself! Everything, from the service, ambiance, prices, wine list and most importantly, the food - is so damn good, you just have to visit this spot for a true seafood experience. Oysters on the half shell for happy hour - such a great deal. Sharing a few photos from our dinner on Dec 23, 2021
Dined here a few weeks back with my husband and the food was incredible. He planned dinner and took me here for their seafood selection, he was not wrong but he was just as happy and pleasantly surprised with his non-seafood dinner. I had oysters, a chilled lobster tail and a pot of mussels in a spicy coconut broth. First off the food was absolutely delicious and by the curation of the menu it was made with love. I had a selection of oysters all of them special in their own way but my favorite out of what I ordered was the pot of mussels. I cleared the pot! Really great broth. The chicken my husband ordered was a half chicken cooked with a chimichurri sauce. He said it was some of the best chicken he’s ever had! So, yes we’ll be back for dinner soon, thank you to everyone from the hostesses to the chef.
I remember when The River Oyster Bar was in its original, much smaller location -cozy, tucked away, but absolutely delicious. It felt like a hidden gem. Now, even in the new spot, it’s still great. The oysters are fresh, the atmosphere is inviting, and the flavors haven’t lost their punch. Still one of my favorites in town.
There aren’t enough words to describe just how amazing of an experience my husband and I have had the past two weeks dining at ROB. The service we’ve had from Steph both times has been the best service we’ve honestly ever had at any restaurant in Miami in the last 7 years. The food is outstanding: we’ve loved everything we’ve tried thus far: the beet salad, spicy tuna tartare, Korean ribs, gnocchi with crab meat, crab cakes, simply grilled mahi mahi…everything was perfect and delicious! GREAT atmosphere sitting outside both times too (especially in this weather). Highly recommend ROB-we’ll be back weekly for the foreseeable future!
David is a great server so ask for him. I have no point of reference in comparing this to other seafood restaurants in Miami, as I was on a layover, but this place is awesome! We had the stuffed mushrooms, lamb meatballs, and roasted oysters for appetizers and they were all fantastic. The entrees were gnocchi with lump crab meat and crab fried rice both of which were to die for. The crab fried rice actually tastes fried and was not wet or sticky, like you would think. The gnocchi with lump crab meat was perfect, no excess cheese or cream sauce. I will come back here every time I am in South Florida!
A Happy Hour favorite many years ago, we had not been to their new, much bigger and fancier location and finally made it there. Still THE best: freshest oysters in Miami, best martinis in Miami, best happy hour, best service (thank you Holly!)… and most impressive of all is how they’ve kept the incredibly intimate vibe of the original tiny place. Still amazing food (the Chinese style whole Yellowtail snapper was exquisite) and for Miami, VERY reasonable prices. My old favorite happy hour place is now my new favorite happy hour place…go figure!
I recently enjoyed a fantastic happy hour with friends at The River Oyster Bar. The oysters were fresh, delicious, and perfectly shucked, providing an excellent start to our evening. We also tried the churrasco, which was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The lamb croquettes were another delightful treat, crispy on the outside and wonderfully savory inside. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and the attentive, friendly service made our experience even better. It's a perfect spot for seafood and meat lovers alike. Can't wait to visit again!
It’s been years since we’ve been here! So many we went to the old location 😆But we found it and boy was it worth it! We got there early so it was happy hour and we had oysters! They were amazing! We also had the calamari & the duck tacos! Yes, I said duck! We had two orders. There’s nothing like the little crispy parts of duck! The oysters also come with a vinaigrette and cucumber (I think) sauce aside from the usual stuff. And, the calamari was tender! For dinner my husband had the scallops—they were like butter, and the lentils they came with were unexpectedly great! I had the butterflied snapper with tomatoes and avocados. It was perfect! We weren’t wowed by the desserts. They have a Good variety of things. But, we expected some kind of key lime pie. We had an amazing afternoon and dinner! I know these are a lot of exclamation points, but they are well deserved! The new place is gorgeous! The staff is wonderful. Our server Stephanie was an absolute delight! We’ll be back!
I was craving some oysters and found this place. Went there without a reservation at first and was told it was fully booked. I then reserved a spot that started 30 minutes later using Google map and was seated. The restaurant was full, but my waitress was very attentive. I had a wonderful meal and would revisit it when I’m in Miami again!
I am surprised how this place turns out to be one of the best, if not the best, food experiences in Miami. There are many places with more than 4.5 stars but disappoints me. However, this place with exact 4.5 stars brings me joy of dining! The oysters from various waters are fresh and have their own signatures. The squid ink seafood pasta with a kick made us finish them with an ease without feeling greasy or bland. The seafood in the dish is high quality as well, not just leftover pieces. The branzino simply prepared is also my favorite. The fish is cooked perfectly with some crispy skins and tender meat. By this time, we are full but we keep going because we are curious how good the dessert would be. We ordered two and both of team are amazing too. We need to stop ourselves and brought one of them home. Otherwise we would be too full to sleep lol. I would definitely come back again when I am in Miami.
This restaurant is absolutely amazing! All the drinks and food are phenomenal, no matter what you get it will be great! The atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful, and intimate. We celebrated my husband’s birthday and we were very pleased with everything. The staff were very attentive, friendly and gave us great recommendations. We will definitely be coming back in the future. Make sure to make your reservations and enjoy an unforgettable meal!
We had lunch here and it certainly didn't disappoint. They have an executive lunch which includes choice of appetizer, entree and dessert for $35 per person. We had the seafood salad and roasted oysters to start. The seafood salad was outstanding and so were oysters but the oysters were a little underwhelming on presentation. The parm crusted pan sautéed snapper was delicious and served with lemon and homemade tarter sauce. Don't forget you still get dessert! Yum! They also have a very nice wine selection and cocktails.
The bar seems to be the happening place, no doubt influenced by the bar specials and being in the center of the room. If seated at the bar, get the lamb meatballs. Also consider the Black Cod Curry and Squid Ink Spaghetti Fra Diavolo which were both excellent.
My meal was perfect, my husband's was a disaster The food quality here is inconsistent. My Steak Frites and the oysters were magnificent! Unfortunately, the rest of the dinner was a struggle. Service was slow (we waited an hour for mains). They forgot our octopus appetizer initially, and when it arrived, it was too salty. Worst of all, my husband's New York Strip arrived well done (we asked for rare) and had no flavor. We were too hungry to send it back after waiting so long, so he just ate it. 5 stars for my food, but 2 stars for the service and the steak.
Beautiful interiors and vibes inside, but unfortunately, we had to sit outside, which I hate when it is close to the street, but at least it is elevated. We started with cocktails, and we had plenty; they were all great! The appetizers were decent. Salmon Belly Tartar was great, and Wahoo Sashimi was alright. Nothing too special tho. For the entree, my favorite was the Gnocchi & Crab. Finally, a decent crab in Miami and gnocchi have unreal consistency and texture. You must try it! If you want to go light and fresh, definitely order Sea Scallop a la Plancha. It was solid. And the Mushroom Crusted Black Grouper was a bit disappointing — dry and lacking flavor. I wouldn’t order that again. Also, we got a nice variety of oysters, and they were all great! And then the dessert… We got The Five Layer Coconut Cake, which was damn humongous! Not sure if that is the correct portion or the waitress loved us, but it is big and insanely delicious. I hate cakes in general and coconut in desserts, but this was super-juicy-moisty-sweet, and had some lovely elements of tres leches. You must try it! Our waitress was super nice and friendly. The food took a little more time than expected, but nothing over 30-40mins. All in all, if in Brickell, definitely give it a visit.
We sat at the bar and arrived a few minutes after happy hour had ended. I ordered a dirty Martini x2 & my cousin had a watermelon margarita. For our appetizers we had the snapper tartare & the deviled eggs caviar, both were delicious. The deviled eggs were amazing, I just wish I had more. The whole yellowtail snapper was fresh, but lacked flavor (seasoning) without the lemon butter and was not scaled thoroughly. I will say the lemon butter was delightful and I definitely used it on top of the fish. The pot of mussels were amazing and did not lack flavor at all, the sauce they were in was superb. We enjoyed the anchovy aïoli on top of the broccolini, it was different but tasty. We left full & overall happy with our dinner.
Some of the best drinks in town. Supernice music. Good crowd. Small plates are delicious. Don't buy the caviar or the Grand Course...not worthy. Place is a huge improvement from the old corner BUT service needs to get their act together. The mess is obvious. More than one hour to get our food. 4 different servers and still had to stand and go to the bar to ask for drinks. At some point we got a plate without forks. My guess is that staff is still in training including the shift manager. Including tip 395.00 for 2.
was staying down in Brickell for an event and decided to get lunch somewhere nearby and dined in at the River Oyster Bar; service was excellent and quick which makes sense because it was 2pm on a Wednesday but overall pretty solid, the lobster bun was good but nothing to go crazy about, scallops were alright, would i go here again, yes but i would order something different but if your in the area and need a quick lunch definitely stop by here
Really great experience, loved the atmosphere for the most part and great service. The food though...... Was awesome. The oysters were fresh, and everything was just flavorful. I feel the spicy tuna tartar could have actually been a little spicier but it was good overall. My only knock against this place and honestly it isn't the restaurants fault, but we sat next to some really obnoxious people. They were over the top loud. But again that can't be helped because I understand it is a buisness. Other than that it was a little pricey for certain items but fairly priced for others. I would recommend to everyone though. I had a good time overall and I always appreciate great food and service.
Nice ambiance to the restaurant. Can get a little loud once more people come in. Carlos the server was very attentive and friendly. Happy hour items were great. I had a few of the bar snacks. Duck tacos seasoned very well. Deviled eggs were a perfect consistency. Drinks were great. Clams were a little over cooked but it could be the way they were cook fire roasted style. Ordered scallops for dinner which were initially raw but they fixed them and they came out fine. Would definitely come here again. Staff works well together to keep table clean and serve.
Kind of dark inside, sit outside if you can. Happy hour is only offered in certain places. Happy hour prices and food were great. We got the stuffed mushrooms and dates. Small portions though… Took a bit of time for them to notice we were sitting down but the restaurant was busy. Overall I would recommend!
Recomendado.
I was wondering why this restaurant is always packed and I understand from my perception why most of people like it. ( this is just my perception and please read another review as well who those of you like to feel casual ) I personally prefer quieter or fancier restaurant, at least not too close to streets. However, maybe this was the reasons people who wants to feel more casual ( majority of people in USA in some reason, which I don’t understand at all ) prefer this restaurant. Price range of menus are similar as another middle to high end restaurant. Nice staffs!
Service is great. Location is hard to find and park. Oysters were fresh. But the variety of plates could be better. Also the quality of some plates could be better, and more options instead of everything “spicy salmon, spicy tuna, spicy anything”. Chef should be open to modifications and be more flexible with plates.
Probably one of the more mediocre overpriced seafood spot in Miami. Waiter was unprofessional and made some rude comments, constantly interrupted conversations, and just clearly had no training on reading the room while doing his job. Overcooked yellowtail snapper definitely ruined the dinner. The only good thing was key lime pie.
Delicious oysters with a great selection of both varieties and wines, and the place itself is beautiful and very pleasant. Unfortunately, the service was poor: we were seated at a table in the back and it took 25 minutes before anyone came to take our order. If it hadn’t been for my oyster craving, I would have left right when the waiter finally showed up—I was just about to walk out.
This was my second time dining here, and I will not be returning. The service is awful. Between the host stand and both waiters (happy hour, standard dining), we were met with more attitude than anywhere else in Brickell. And yes, that includes Sexy Fish and Komodo. We practically had to beg for bread. The food is very hit or very miss. The salmon was perfect. The steak was inedible. Happy hour oysters were a great value, especially at $2 per oyster. Maybe just nab the daily happy hour deal!
Food was ok. Service could be improved a lot. The waiter acted like he's doing me a big favor giving me a table. Then he rudely tried to rush me when I was ordering. Then while I'm eating he comes by and asks me "Is the food tasty?" like I am a child. Sorry, I don't ever call food tasty or yummy since I was 5 years old.
I have been to River Oyster at least 20 times in the last 5 years,it has never been this bad!!! The service was terrible, waiter was stretched to say the least,he was serving too many tables! He was running around like a chicken with his head cut off!! We ordered mussels. $24,they were horrible, there had to be 15 mussels and they were all the size of a Quarter!!This place has gone downhill fast!!!When you are paying their prices, you should not be disappointed!!!
One the worst restaurants in Brickell. Terrible service and food that is barely edible(this makes Red Lobster look fancy ). Oysters were questionable quality and full of broken shell fragments. Super long wait time between courses. Manager was busy playing on her phone to care about about running a restaurant.
***** update as of 25th October 24***** Second visit this trip and decided to have an evening meal. The man that served was downright rude so I will not return. Every time he places a plate down he was snorting and hacking up phlegm (attractive when eating) Then when he brought the bill over we said we were paying cash, we had placed this down and included the tip. He abruptly reminded us gratuity wasn’t included, we said pardon, he then reminded us again! Personally maybe he should have waited and looked at what we had put down as included ample tip. I feel because we were not from USA and English he assumed we hadn’t bothered. This put a bad feel to the end of what had been a nice evening. Will not return. Nice bar with a great happy hour. Had a mix of full price and happy hour oysters along with a nice cold glass of wine and Guava beer. Would return if in Miami, although would be better if the person at the bar next to me hadn’t been loud on his phone the whole time, but that’s not the bars fault. Nice way to try different oysters and see what you like best, did make me chuckle that they wrote “Brits” on our receipt :-)
Dear Management, As a patron who understands that your bar operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, I was both surprised and deeply disappointed when I was denied a high-top chair at the bar—only to witness that same seating being reserved moments later for two white women. I had arrived during happy hour with the clear understanding that seating was not reserved, and yet I was treated otherwise. What made the situation more troubling was not just the inconsistency in policy enforcement, but the dismissive and discourteous manner in which I was addressed. The attitude of the bar staff member felt unnecessarily unwelcome and given the circumstances, left me feeling singled out and discriminated against. No patron should leave an establishment questioning whether they were treated differently because of how they look. Whether intentional or not, the optics and the behavior communicated a message that was unacceptable. I am requesting clarification on your seating policies and how they are applied. More importantly, I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed internally to ensure that all guests are treated equitably and respectfully moving forward.
This is the 2nd time we came here but I feel they have really inflated the price. We spent almost $200 and still felt semi-hungry. The dozen of oysters were TINY, even thought we were told they were medium sized. The 1st time we were here, they were of decent size, with a mixture of bigger ones and smaller ones, but this time, they were all super tiny. We have never had such tiny oysters! The flat bread was so flat, it felt more like crackers. Overall the portions were super small and the service was super slow. Would not be coming back.
The old menu was much better, and the service has clearly declined. Service was slow from the start, and when our server messed up our order, it added an additional 30-minute wait. We didn’t complain or say anything about her mistake, yet her attitude toward us completely changed. She threw the bread on the table and didn’t speak to us again. Considering this place isn’t cheap, the experience was extremely disappointing and left us feeling robbed. PS- Remove the Lobster Bun and get an actual Lobster Roll. Potato chips with the wagyu burger is weird, get potato fries.
