We’ve been going to this Sushi Restaurant for years. We usually sit in or order out several times a month. They never disappoint. Very friendly staff, great/fresh food, clean environment, and reasonable prices. They also accommodate gluten restrictions! And easy parking! We highly recommend them to anyone.

The service was excellent. Our server was patient even though we asked a bunch of questions about what we were eating. The sushi boat was solid and all the fish was fresh. We also got steamed gyoza that had a ton of flavor. Great experience, but the only problem was that we were the only patrons there! To some I bet that’s a good thing though, and to be fair, it was a Wednesday night.

The food was good and the place is so cute. It needs to be organized better. It is clean, but there are areas with clutter which takes away from the atmosphere.

Fantastic as always! Angry roll, Monkey Roll, Sashimi, Sushi, and Scorpion Bowl we're all awesome! The staff are super friendly and attentive. This IS our favorite place to go for this kind of yummy food.

I lived in Japan, and while it's far to consider Japanica "American Japanese" (it's all imitation crab), it's my favorite Japanese restaurant in the area. The sushi is fresh, the yakisoba tastes just how I remember it, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I've enjoyed everything that I have tried. In addition to the food, they have a selection of sake, Japanese beers, and Japanese sodas - I don't drink, so I can't comment on them. I do recommend, if you have room after dinner, the frozen dessert menu! Sorbets and ice creams that they purchase in bulk, but yum! Really tasty and large servings though (you can plan on sharing).

Japanica II Middletown: The ambience of the restaurant was very nice and felt clean and well maintained. The food was well priced and very filling. I personally recommend the sweet potato roll for those who like a somewhat savory taste. The service was also very quick, didn’t have to wait more than 15 minutes.

Excellent experience at Japanica. The service is outstanding — the staff is always friendly, helpful, and welcoming with a smile. When ordering online, the wait time is very short; most of the time my order is already ready when I arrive to pick it up, which is super convenient. Prices are very affordable, making it a great option for lunch on a regular basis. Their lunch specials are delicious, well-priced, and the portion size is perfect for one person with a normal appetite. Highly recommended for great food, fast service, and excellent customer care.

Food was very tasty, especially their sushi. Excellent fried rice. Their noodles are also good. The hot tea was very good. Would recommend this restaurant for lunch: their nicely priced lunch menus are available Mon - Sat. Includes Bento Box, Sushi lunch and more. Their avocado and sweet potato sushi is really good. Visited this establishment many times already and their service is really good and so is the food. However, I have visited during lunch only. Not many people visiting around that time. In my top 5 for best sushi restaurants. The lunch special is great and ratio of meat to other ingredients is extremely fair. My only reason for 4 stars is because their house salad needs a lot of work. I thoroughly enjoy the small ginger dressed salad that comes with sushi, however this is the only spot where I can’t even eat more than a few bites of it. The vegetables are always on the way out and the bottom of the container has a quarter inch if water in it. Specifically did not go today for lunch just because I didn’t want to have to think about that salad!

Food was ok. I ordered 3 rolls. One tasted a little fishy to me like it wasn't fresh. Miso was good. Service was nice but only one lady running around taking care of tables and the front. Atmosphere was ok just not enough lighting.

We ordered a roll with salmon and another one called ocean something. Didn't taste good. One roll was 80% cream cheese and a pink paste substance. The chicken teriyaki was dry baked chicken strips with teriyaki sauce poured over it with onion, broccoli, and carrot slices. Also not good. The spring rolls were mostly cabbage. I won't be returning.
