Opinions de Il Marchese Milan
My favorite food during a week stay in Milan. I thought every dish was excellent. Nothing special or creative - just really well executed classics. I had the Gricia pasta and my son the carbonara. They were served in the pan at the table - nice touch. We shared the peach and goat cheese salad which was really nice. Both dishes were excellent. But the highlight was the steak tartare appetizer - one of the best I’ve ever had. Delicious. Decor and vibe are nice - although it was a bit quiet during a midweek evening. Would highly recommend for classic Italian dishes. Try the steak tartare.
Great place to visit on the Milan trip. Location is close to the centre but still very much intimate. Restaurant has great atmosphere and service is top tier. We really loved our drinks that were not on the menu, but bartenders did manage to recommend something that was 100% our taste. The food was great and side dishes of bread, olives and nuts were nice addition and made our stay very pleasant.
We had an unforgettable dining experience at Il Marchese Milano. The carbonara was exceptional, ranking among the best I’ve ever tasted - perfectly cooked pasta with a rich, creamy sauce. The cocktail I chose was equally impressive, showcasing the bartender’s expertise. The atmosphere was incredible, blending elegant decor with a warm, inviting ambiance. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring a memorable evening. I highly recommend Il Marchese Milano for an authentic Roman dining experience in Milan.
A truly pleasant evening with attentive service and thoughtful accommodation of our dietary needs. The chef even prepared a special vegetarian noodle dish — not on the menu, just from kindness. Excellent food, warm atmosphere — highly recommended. The service alone makes the Michelin shine a little brighter.
I recently organized a group dinner for 110 people at Il Marchese Milano, and I must say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, with each course impressively prepared and presented. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the flavors and quality of the dishes. The service was equally remarkable. Despite the size of our group, the servers were attentive, friendly, and ensured that everything ran smoothly. A special shoutout to Greta, the manager, who was exceptional in her role. She went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests, making sure the entire event was perfectly organized. Her dedication and professionalism truly stood out. The live band was the cherry on top. Their music added an extra layer of atmosphere, making the evening even more enjoyable. The combination of great food, attentive service, and lively entertainment made this a memorable night for everyone. If you're looking for a restaurant that can handle large groups with ease while delivering on both food and service, Il Marchese Milano is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!
Ate there tonight as a couple. We had an excellent meal in fine surroundings with very pleasant and professional staff. I tried the Carbonara due to other good reviews and it was very good. The fish carpaccio was also excellent. Mains were good and desserts delightful. Definitely fine dining. Highly recommended.
Great tasting food, had beef tartare and a pasta. One of the better pasta’s I’ve had, thick sauce and al dente pasta. Has a fancy atmosphere. Service was decent, but not good for such a fancy restaurant. Ordered bottle of wine which was just put on the table instead of a bucket after pouring and tasting. They also cleared my pasta meal without me having finished it and they didn’t ask if I was finished. We spend around €450. Came late around 22.00, but they accepted it.
A high-class restaurant in the heart of the city, set in a space that recalls the elegance of a post-war noble palace. The ambiance strikes a unique balance between lively energy and aristocratic charm, reflected in both the attentive service and the thoughtfully crafted dishes. The quality of the cooking is high, and the service is warm, though the city-center prices do feel a bit steep for the overall experience. For international visitors, this is a memorable spot to enjoy authentic Roman cuisine in an unforgettable setting. And for locals, it’s an ideal place to impress a guest during a night out. I’d rate it a 4.3 out of 5 for upscale regional Italian dining!
Our hotel recommended this restaurant. We enjoyed our evening very much. We had the cod croquettes which were absolutely delicious. We had Cacho e Pepe which was cooked very well but a little bit too much cheese sauce for me. They didn’t have too many wines by the glass so we got a bottle of burgundy which was very good. Our service was good. It took a few minutes to get our menus, but we had a very nice waiter. At the end of the meal, a waiter brought us a cute little box. We thought maybe it had chocolate in it, but no, it just had the check in it. We thought that was funny.
Most memorable gricia pasta yet ✨ Ambience was also impeccable! The live music was all sorts of fun! Il Marchese interiors blends old-world Roman charm with modern Milanese sophistication. Think elegant arches, warm lighting, and a refined yet cozy feel. The space nods to classic Italy with details like rich woods, and vintage touches. Everything feels curated and current, not dated🤌🏼✨
My experience at Marchese Milano was delightful overall. The staff was lovely and provided excellent service, especially when we accidentally ordered a spicy pasta, which they kindly swapped for something else. I highly recommend the Carbonata; it was authentic and delicious. However, while the food was good, it lacked creativity and innovative techniques. Despite the Michelin star, I'm not sure if it fully lived up to the hype. Though we were too full for dessert, I don't foresee myself returning for cravings.
My wife and I were thrilled to visit II Marchese in Milano, as we had a wonderful experience at their Rome location. However, our excitement quickly faded upon arrival. While the ambiance was stunning and immaculate, and the carbonara was delicious, the arugula salad we ordered was a letdown. The arugula was excessively bitter, the peaches were unripe, and the dressing was completely absent. Perhaps if the peaches had been ripe and the dressing had been properly prepared, it could have been tolerable, but that wasn’t the case. The service was also disappointing. After they brought the bread and plate for the olive oil, one of the two servers approached our table without asking if we needed it, which we did. In Rome, reservations are typically made weeks in advance, but here, they can be made an hour in advance. Based on our experience, I can understand why.
Ordered few things. Cod croquettes were good. Salad with amberjack was alright. Cacio e Pepe was pretty bad. This is apparently a Roman place and the waiter recommended cacio e pepe. I’ve made cacio e pepe better than this. Sauce was way too thick, almost lumpy, and that’s one of the common failure modes of making this dish. Other than that dish, it’s pretty pleasant otherwise. As I was walking out, i saw that this place a Michelin star in 2024 and before. Really?
Since I was in Milan so we thought we should have pasta. Choose this restaurant due to the approximality then with a high start rating, but was disappointed with the food. Ordered the black squid ink pasta, but the pasta was very hard. When we asked the waiter about this, we were told that the pasta was cooked, and maybe we are not used to the Italian way. But the crusted tuna was really good. We were told later that this is a very well known restaurant in Milan. The restaurant gave us a 10% off our bill seeing that we didn't finished the pasta.
This was a big miss for the Michelin guide. The ambiance was elevated and classy, but the food was of such low quality that all four of us left the restaurant feeling gastronomically queasy. We ordered a Caesar salad but received a decomposed arrangement of overly-salted iceberg shreds, bacon, chicken shreds, and egg. Nothing about it resembled a Caesar salad. We received bread for the table but no oils or plates to eat it with. By the time we received plates to eat it with, they had removed the bread. We ordered Matriciana pastas, but received an overly-salted tomato pasta with bacon bits. Where is the guanciale? We ordered a Carbonara, which was described by someone at our table as “just really bad”. We ordered beef meatballs, but received 5 lumps of slimy, loose-fitting meat paste that had little flavor and all the wrong textures. I took two little bites and could not stomach more. Mushy, mealy, with hints of paper towel. We might have ordered dessert, but it took nearly two hours for the kitchen to accomplish all of the above, despite the room being empty, so we had to rush to make the opera. I don’t give one star lightly, but Milanese should expect better.
