Cenare da Don Lisander è un’esperienza che va ben oltre il semplice pasto: è un vero e proprio viaggio nei sapori della tradizione milanese, avvolti da un’atmosfera di rara bellezza. Ho avuto il piacere di cenare all’aperto, nel suggestivo cortile interno, un’oasi di tranquillità nel cuore pulsante della città. L’atmosfera era semplicemente magica: luci soffuse, tavoli elegantemente apparecchiati, il profumo dei fiori e il silenzio ovattato che solo certi luoghi sanno offrire. Gli spazi interni, raffinati ed accoglienti, parlano di eleganza senza tempo. Ogni dettaglio è curato con gusto, tra arredi classici e tocchi di calda modernità, che rendono l’ambiente perfetto sia per una cena romantica che per un’occasione speciale. Un plauso particolare va allo staff: cortese, preparato e sempre attento alle esigenze degli ospiti, con quel tocco di discrezione che fa sentire coccolati senza mai essere invadenti. Il cibo? Semplicemente straordinario. Ogni piatto è un equilibrio perfetto tra tradizione e creatività, preparato con ingredienti di altissima qualità. Dai risotti ai secondi, fino ai dessert, tutto è stato impeccabile. Una menzione d’onore al risotto alla milanese, che resta nel cuore (e nel palato). In conclusione, Don Lisander è un ristorante che conquista sotto ogni aspetto: atmosfera incantevole, servizio impeccabile e cucina eccellente. Consigliatissimo per chi cerca un’esperienza autentica, elegante e indimenticabile nel cuore di Milano.

This was hands down the best veal Milanese we’ve ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside, tender and flavorful inside- truly flawless. Every dish we tried felt like it couldn’t have been done any better. The flavors were rich without being too heavy, and you could really taste the quality in the ingredients. The ossobuco was just as memorable ( melt-in-your-mouth) beautifully cooked, and deeply comforting in that classic, traditional Italian way. The service was incredible! An all-around exceptional dining experience and we would recommend this to anyone visiting Milan

💙💙💙 OMG!!!! Delightful. Food is exceptional and worth the price. Their wine list goes from $40 and up, with all wines being of exceptional quality. Because it not “near” the Duomo, they are not “price gouging” their customers. I will be eating here EVERY YEAR I visit Milano. 💙💙💙

Fantastic food and super friendly staff. The athmosphere sitting outside with some cloths nicely arranged as a roof is the best way to create a vibe. All our dishes from asperges to melanzane parmigiana and seabass to ossobucco were amazingly tasteful. We had such a nice waiter, he was absolutely the finishing touch dor the whole experience ❤️ Thank you we are definitely coming back again 😍

How lucky were we to walk into this gorgeous restaurant. Off the beaten path in Milan (very close to the Duomo) we walked in and suddenly were calm. Every element in the restaurant was perfecto — decor, service and food. We started with the Cod Carpaccio and the Tuna Tartar. Beyond amazing! For mains, we had the Risotto alla Milanese (Risotto with Saffron) and the spaghetti with red shrimp and lime. These dishes paired perfectly with the Vermmentino Canayli white wine. We finished with the Tiramisu, cappuccino, and double espresso. The food was so good, I’m officially dead.

È stato il primo ristorante nel quale io e la mia ragazza (oggi mia moglie) siamo stati quando abbiamo deciso di venire a vivere a Milano. Da allora ci ritorniamo saltuariamente, nei momenti importanti della nostra vita, nella speranza che continui a portarci bene. Si mangia bene e si viene servito altrettanto bene. Ci siamo recati qui per un compleanno. Il locale, coi tavoli sia esterni che interni disposti in lunghezza, si presenta curato. Il menù concordato era di 4 portate: vitello impanato perfettamente come antipasto, ravioli rivisitazione del risotto nilanese con osso buco, filetto di maiale morbidissimo ben impiattato, panna cotta al cioccolato bianco e passion fruit ottima. Vino eccellente, servizio cortese e sollecito. Conto proporzionato. Ci torneremo per una cena di coppia.

The food at Don Lisander is truly delicious! The osso buco was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The service was also very good, attentive and professional. However, I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the ambiance. While the restaurant has a nice setting, the decor could use some improvement to match the quality of the food and service. A more refined atmosphere would elevate the dining experience even further. Overall, a great spot for classic Milanese cuisine!

Our go-to restaurant in Milano. As expats in Tokyo, Japan for over a decade and being a couple of foodie, we are very spoiled with high quality food/cuisine. We found this restaurant by accident in 2016 on our honeymoon very close to our hotel, and we fell in love with it right away. My very picky eater half Italian husband is always satisfied with their food. Me being a very difficult and picky person when it comes to food is happy with almost all their food. Since then it became our tradition to go there every time we go back to Europe, when we do our traditional shopping vacation in Milano. The atmosphere is very nice, nothing to complain about. Travelling all over Asia and Europe I noticed the service styles under different countries and culture are very different, to be fair I think we can’t say “it is bad” just because it’s not the service we are used to. The service at this restaurant is correct in my opinion, in a normal and proper Italian manner, though could be a little bit more welcoming generally speaking, but nothing to really complain about. In my case they were very happy to help when I asked a hand to go down the stairs to the ladies room when I was sacred falling with my sky high heels. All in all we really like this restaurant and we will keep our tradition to go back. Even with our kids when they are bigger.

Great service but difficult to cater to everyone's needs when we are such a large group (20+ people). The starter didn't look great but actually was very nice (see photo), the main was pork and not so good and the desert was ice cream for me so no complaints there. Il voto complessivo riguarda il dehors, che, coi suoi funghi ad alta temperatura e il rivestimento plastificato per non disperdere il calore, non mi ha fatto impazzire. Lo stesso spazio, nella stagione più calda, probabilmente rende meglio. Su servizio e cibo nulla da eccepire.

Troppo caro per quello che ti offre. Coperto 6 euro, caffè 4,50 euro, quattro fiori di zucca 24,50 euro… Senza vino, senza dolce, solo con un antipasto buono e un discreto pesce spada, 85 euro a persona mi pare troppo, anche se si chiama Don Lisander e anche se è in Via Manzoni… Temo che non ci tornerò.

The food was excellent and truly authentic Milanese cuisine - that was the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. We felt that service may have differed because we were not locals nor spoke italian: wine pours were noticeably minimal, and a sauce that normally accompanies our appetizer was forgotten and no effort to apologize when we pointed that out. Additionally, when we ordered one appetizer and were asked if we were splitting, it was plated on two dishes and charged at a higher price (€32 instead of the listed €24.50) without this being clearly explained beforehand. The per-person cover charge was also quite high. Overall, the kitchen is outstanding, but greater transparency and consistency in service would significantly improve the experience. Which is a shame because we can tell a lot of care was put into this restaurant and we really wanted to add it to our list of restaurants we visit on our annual trip to Milan, but the service makes it very hard to come back.

Even considering July is the busiest time of the year in Milan, we couldn’t understand the waiter’s attitude. When we asked for a recommendation for champagne, he just pointed out the most expensive one without explaining anything. Even after we ordered that one, he kept being rather arrogant or indifferent. When we ordered Orangina, what he said the restaurant has, he brought us an orange flavored Fanta already opened without asking us first. Food was so-so and quite salty overall, especially the meatball. We liked the Milanese veal but as you know it can’t go so wrong in Milan. I wouldn’t go back or recommend this place.

The restaurant seemed like a nice place to dine it - more fancy than the others I saw nearby during my first night in Milan. The food was delicious but it failed to deliver on how it was cooked in some aspects. We were served decent bread in the beginning with their in-house olive oil which was the best olive oil I've ever had. Could only munch on that. For an appetizer we tried the burrata and the Milanese-style meatballs. Both were delicious and no remarks on that. One of the mains was pasta and it was amazing. Full of flavour and perfect texture - both the pasta and the goose ragu. The other main - catoletta was also delicious. However the batter it was fried in was a bit soggy in fat. Furthermore, some of the potatoes were not properly cooked with one for the completely raw. The tiramisu felt a bit dense and heavy. First time in Italy so not really sure how it's made best. However, the next day I had a other one which was much lighter and fuller in taste. Overall, the restaurant was decent with apparently good quality products but a bit pricey for the overall quality of how the food was prepared.
