Voto : 10 + 😊
Locale a tema ferroviario.
We went here because we had seen it in a Stanley Tucci video. It was just as good as we had hope. Great food, brilliant sraff especially Josh who served us. He told us a lot about the history of the establishment and was so helpful with good and wine selections. We really splurged with antepasto, salade, secondi and dolce as well as dinner wines and a gorgeous dessert wine too. I highly recommend and hope we can visit again one day. Thank you for an exceptional memorable experience and very fair value.
We hosted a birthday party here and had an amazing time. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable and so generous. Our waiter provided excellent recommendations and made the night very special. The atmosphere is perfect for an authentic Italian evening right in the middle of Milan. Would definitely recommend.
Had a great dinner there tonight. The risotto options are terrific, the wine and dessert selections outstanding. The table service from Josh was exceptional, as was the lovely lady at checkout. Will be back next year again..
Excellent service! Josh was really attentive and considerate of my wife being pregnant. The service runs so well because the staff are attentive and observant, and there are plenty on, which is good to see. The risotto with bone marrow took us to a new plane and the sbrisolona with dessert wine was delicious. Lovely mondeghili too!
A truly excellent dinner out. We specifically made reservations here due to hearing that they had the best Risotto Milanese con Ossobuca. Getting reservations was a small challenge, but it was well worth it. Being our last big meal in Italy before we left, we wanted to make it a good one. We when we arrived the simple nature of the place greets you with the warmth of a home. We were promptly seated in a smaller dining room just beyond the front room containing the bar and what seemed like a main dining room. The five tables in the area gave enough background chatter that our conversation was our own. Our waiter was superb. Josh was absolutely on it all night, meticulously taking care of us, explaining the menu and keeping the table spotless the entire evening. We were never want for anything and he seemed to arrive just when we needed him. His wine recommendations to start the meal were excellent. We started with polpette made from veal, breaded and fried to a perfect crispness accompanied with a puttanesca. Accompanying that, we enjoyed a small plate of prosciutto, salume, and capicola. I had the Risotto Milanese as a primo with the braised beef as my secondo. My wife had the Roasted capon which was stuffed with plum, apple, greens, and chicken liver. Our friends had the capon and Risotto Milanese con Ossobuca. To finish the meal, Josh suggested a pistaccio and peperoncini gelato. Skeptical, I ordered one and asked for four small spoons. Wow, what a great, and unique, flavor combination. The serving that we ordered did not last long. A great meal finished off with a caffe and a local amaro put us in the right gastronomic spot for a nice walk back to our apartment. Josh made the meal an awesome experience, and it would have only been a great meal without him. If you are in the area, make reservations, enjoy some of the best Osteria food in the area, and request his services for your table.
Great space, food and team. Dining room is located downstairs and the entrance isn’t super noticeable or easy to find via GPS. Staff was very welcoming, dishes are reasonably priced and everything tasted great. Speaking with the local ladies dining next to us who got the lunch special they said it was such a deal! I had the porcini pasta with shaved white truffles on top which was quite memorable. Will be back for sure!
We came here as a family on our last night in Milan, and it was an amazing experience. This was the best food we had in the city by far and our server was also really great. We tried a bunch of courses and not one was less than wonderful. Make a reservation because the tables fill up quickly!
This restaurant was featured in Stanley Tucci's Searching for Italy series and I just had to try it for myself. From the moment my family and I stepped foot inside, we were captivated by the warm ambiance and the impeccable service. Our party of 3 were served by Josh and he had great attention to detail. Throughout the evening, Josh guided us effortlessly by suggesting wine pairings that elevated the flavors and small plates that goes well with our main dishes. The attentive service and Josh's knowledge enhanced the overall dining experience, leaving a lasting impression. For starters, we had the beef Milanese meatballs, Milanese Mix, and Slow Food Protection Mix. The cold cits of the slow food mix were amazing and melts in the mouth with every blossful bite. The Milanese mix had impeccable balance of creaminess and subtle yet distinct flavors that left us craving for more. Moving on to the main course, I was presented with a tender and succulent veal steak, which is a signature dish of the region. The veal shank, bathed in a flavorful white wine-based sauce was an absolute delight. The meat fell effortlessly off the bone, and each mouthful was a symphony of robust flavors that showcased the skill and expertise of the chef. My sister had the taglatielle Bergamot sheep ragu which had fresh pasta and flavorful meat whereas my mother had the baccala dish that was equally delish. We would have wanted to stay longer for dessert but we had to finish the night early to catch a show. If you find yourself in Milan, do not miss the opportunity to embark on this gastronomic adventure and explore the timeless treasures of traditional Milanese cuisine at Osteria del Treno.
It's a "Slow Food" restaurant - with everything good that is implied therein. Impeccably sourced local ingredients, local cuisine done brilliantly, and inexpensive to boot (seriously - thats part of the "Slow Food" movement). The staff ("G" used to be around half the time, but has since retired, though the others are just as good!) mans the front of the house brilliantly, seemingly constantly on the move, but still attentive to everyone's needs. The rest of the (small) wait-staff is friendly to a fault. Put your fate in their hands, they'll take care of you We''ve been coming here for *years*, and are still constantly surprised at how *good* the place is - no mean feat!

A restaurant where I like to go both for business lunches and dinners with friends. Plain local Milanese restaurant. Simple at lunch and romantic or intimate at dinner. Strongly suggest it
Deludenti i dessert, presentati in modo scarno.
Prezzi alti.
A vintage experience without feeling line a theme restaurant. If you would like to have a taste of Milan this is the place to come to. Unfortunately some menu items could be improved but overall it was a nice experience to try proper local cuisine. Portions are very generous so i would suggest skipping a 4 course meal and limiting yourselves to 3 or 2 courses. And btw it IS open on Saturday notwithstanding what google maps says…
A very nice restaurant close to centrale main train station of milan. Centrally located it is quite easy to reach with public transport but not so far away from center. They specialise on Milanese cuisine with risotto ossobuco and several other meat dishes bit also have choices for fish and vegetarians. The service quality of food and taste all very good. Definitely a recommended place to go.
Tasty choices and a good experiences. Plates were full, but felt slightly short of umami. Would definitely recommend as there were more option that we don’t have enough room in the stomach for. Service was accommodating, fast and friendly. We saw more locals inside then tourist, which is a good sign.
It was actually hard to get a reservation at this restaurant online so we called and emailed them to get a table on our last night. Everything we ordered was good so it was a great experience. The wine paired with the food was also excellent. Our only regret was we didnt get to order dessert.

I was here for a banquet event, so somewhat unfair to evaluate the food, when it was being served to about 100 people. Even then, the food was quite good. service was very good.

Buoni i vini.
Locale ben tenuto e scenograficamente interessante.
Mediocre food, lukewarm, rude staff who clearly hates tourists. But nothing compares to being sick 1 hour after eating here. Obviously Stanley has a thing or two to learn about good food.

We made a reservation after reading about it in an article related to Stanley Tucci. First the service was rushed and disinterested. The waiter never checked if we needed water or wine refilled. …
Conto salato ovviamente...
