Relaxing, calm ambiance and the smell of delicious upon entering the restaurant making the dining experience enjoyable. We ordered linguine and risotto today and it was ok. I was expecting a creamy, lemon-y taste from the reviews but it did not taste that, tastes like soup-y rice rather than creamy. The linguine is just okay too. Bread’s good and warm and perfect for that dip. Plenty of dishes we want to try so we might go back. We missed the meatball spaghetti in the menu. There is parking in the front of the restaurant, easy access from freeway too. We were easily seated on a weekend lunch.
I absolutely love the location—it’s so peaceful and relaxing right in the middle of a busy city. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and both the food and drinks arrived right on time. Our server Amal was an absolute delight! She really knows what she’s doing—friendly, attentive, and easy to talk to without being overbearing. She recommended the salmon dish, and honestly, you just can’t say no to her—it was perfect! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great service, delicious food, and a calm, inviting atmosphere. Of course with Amal
The Bianca pizza was absolutely fantastic. Every bite was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious pizza experience.
Deliziosa!!! Fresh in-house pasta made daily!! Every dish we ordered was incredible. Super cute restaurant! Staff are welcoming & friendly. Love this place!! Can’t wait to go back.
Always a great experience at this restaurant! Wonderful staff that are kind, the food is tasty and the location is great. No complaints. If you're looking for good Italian food in Marin accompanied with good cocktails, service and location this will be the spot for you.
Follow my memory and come back to this restaurant, still the nice food and beer, good IPA
We stopped in for lunch and had a great experience! The food was outstanding as well as the service. The Bianca pizza was amazing and highly recommended. -calabrese sausage, mozzarella, provolone, preserved lemon pesto, crispy tuscan kale-
I stayed nearby, so I drove over without a reservation, and they seated me near the bar with a great view of the bay. I had the Oddera Barbera wine, the Wood Roasted Octopus (couldn't wait, so my pick is half eaten - sorry, not sorry) and the Samon Piccata for my main. Everything was quite tasty and Rickisa took great care of me. Piatti overall, was a lovely surprise and I would highly recommend it.
You can tell a lot about a place and how they handle large parties and the party I was in, (Monday, Oct 14, 2024) was pretty damn large. We had just wrapped a local festival. There wasn't a single flaw in how they handled it. If some people needed vegetarian dishes they brought out vegetarian dishes, with alacrity. This is some of the friendliest and most attentive and helpful wait staff I have ever encountered. We all had to be rolled out of the restaurant. So details. Water, soda water (Pellegrino), ice, and various wines were at the ready, along with the appropriate glassware. Plenty of neatly sliced lemons and limes. We started with the Caesar salad. Most Caeser salads are drenched in dressing or the dressing itself is disappointing. This was perfect, wonderfully and lightly tossed, with thinly sliced toasted pieces of bread as the croutons. We had four vegetarians that are part of one table and they got substitute salads almost immediately. At least almost immediately for a restaurant. There was bread, a very nice focaccia and a ciabatta with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip them in. Meanwhile, many of us are having seconds and thirds on the Caesar salad. Pretty funny because we all knew there was more food to come and all, but damn it was good. Then came the pastas, there was a tortellini, there was a pesto shell pasta, and then there was a lasagna. But I think it was with vegetarian meat. I don't know. Hopefully the restaurant can clarify the menu as I have given them the date. Anyway, people were having fun socializing and dining and remarking pretty much how good the food was, and going for seconds and thirds again, knowing full well there was dessert. And boy was there dessert.. I had the chocolate torte. The kind of chocolate they used is not your typical American chocolate. This was much smoother, richer tasting. Or at least it seemed that way. Next to me someone had the tiramisu. Someone else had the gelato, another had the donut holes. Oh my. The donut holes were killer, with custard and blueberries on the side. We all sampled the desserts as well as devouring our own. And I do mean they literally had to roll us out the door. So if you're thinking of treating your staff or your family, I cannot think of a better place. There seems to be plenty of parking, The view outside is pleasant, the bathrooms are very nice. Easy access to and from the freeway, and one of the cheapest gas stations is just down the street. Again, I need to salute the staff. They were absolutely wonderful. Thank you all! Almost forgot, had the perfect cappuccino at the end.
Wow what a lovely place! Beautifully decorated with amazing views, incredibly nice and welcoming staff, delicious food and great wine!! Could not recommend this place enough.
Love this Italian restaurant with outdoor seating in the middle of the Presidio, surrounded by Cherry blossoms and green lawns. Food is excellent, desserts to die for, service outstanding and friendly.
I love this place! I decided to spend my birthday dinner there and all was great. The food eggplant with short ribs mix was amazing ! The bread! Amazing. Eduardo the manager was very welcoming. And Luis the waiter was very nice!! All felt like home the views and place it’s amazing! I highly recommend it! Thanks!!
The food was very delicious, pizza was a bit undercooked or doughy otherwise the salmon, brussels and risotto were absolutely fantastic! The view is also a great part of the experience dining here. Highly recommend checking this place out!
Gorgeous view, outdoor seating, fantastic food and service. The Tiramisu, was perfection in a slice. Am planning on buying a whole cake soon.
★★★★★ for the staff at Piatti. I was served this delicious bread before my meal. I recommend the outdoor patio for dining.
Great italian food, hospitality and a view! It is hard to get this combination right at a restaurant but we were really satisfied with the food. We had the wood-fired octopus appetizer, salad, and flatbread. For the main course we had salmon piccata and short ribs with polenta. The service was great and the staff were very friendly. The weather was nice so we sat outside on the deck by the water and watched the sun set. After sunset they turned on the heat lamps and it was a comfortable evening.
Really delicious food at a very good price point. The pasta dishes were terrific. The lemon ravioli was scrumptious and the mushroom pasta was really amazing. I think it would cost a lot to make the same thing at home, since the variety of mushrooms they were using aren't easy to come by and tend to be fairly expensive. The flavors were really intense and delicious. The burrata was excellent as well. I particularly loved the butternut squash soup with sage, just incredible. Desserts were as good as we expected them to be. The gelato was particularly good. I was not enamored of their version of an old fashioned. Next time I'll stick to the classic old-fashioned or pick something else. The service was very good, they got it our large group seated quickly. The view is beautiful, even at night, I'm sure it's even better in the daytime. Will definitely be back the next time we are in Mill Valley. Update; the pasta Bolognese was amazing too. Still 5/5!!
A pan roasted salmon is very delicious. Orders to go are available for your picnic fiest in the park or in any other convenient location. Behind the restaurant is a Richardson Bay with fabulous view.
Casual Elegance to Outdoor Waterfront Italian Dining Experience This restaurant boasts an amazing Italian cuisine with dining for guests either inside or outside overlooking the water. We arrived here in time to see the sun set over the water and it was just beautiful. This added to the great food and service we experienced. This was a ladies business and friends early dinner for six and it was really excellent food. Many of us ordered salads and found the ingredients fresh and the portions large and priced as expected. There's a great selection of wine available and a substantial menu to choose from. We'll be back.
Best rigatoni bolognese outside of Italy And the Campanelle pesto are amazing too… great friendly servers and a killer sunset on the water … authentic Italian flavor ✨
The food is authentic and the dish I had was quite good. I had the pasta bolognese and the sauce is not heavy and pasta was not overcooked like most fake Italian restaurants around the U.S. best of all it’s next to the Ferrari dealer 😁
We really liked this place. Our pizza, panini, coffee and desserts were perfect. The staff were friendly and the food was served quickly. Nice place and view.
This was my first time at Piatti and it was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant interior is updated and looks amazing. I was there to meet a friend for some drinks and a few appetizers we didn’t order any meals but everything we had their, including the martinis we’re good. Can’t wait to come back and try their food it look delicious.
Great location by a small lake. Great food. We got the burrata with tomato and endive, the lasagna with impossible meat, and the tiramisu!
I went to Sausalito to visit my old pal Joey Bagadoughnuts, what a character, he's got a bigass houseboat there on the Iroquois Dock where he spends his day sunning his wedemeyer to all who pass by. ...and with that in mind I headed straight to Piatti Restaurant for a little pasta, because they're the best in Marin. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆
Dropped in for some dinner in the middle of the week. Great service. Great atmosphere. Amazing ravioli. Some of the best I’ve had in the area. This place has a cozy feeling to it. It’s a fun spot for dinner with friends. I will definitely be going back to this gem for some more ravioli! Ciao
Omg had the very best Holiday party this past Saturday! The food was really well done and the atmosphere was super on point. Our server Lisa and the other staff did an amazing job taking care of all 40 thirsty and hungry souls. Thank you Piatti's for hosting us this season and I can't wait to come back.
Piatti is always great! Wonderful experience yesterday in Mill Valley and wonderful experience last week in La Jolla!
This is a great place to view Mount Tamalpias at sunset. The dining room is clean and comfortable. The wood roasted octopus appetizer was excellent, although the grilled radicchio that came with it wasn't grilled enough for me-but I'm not a fan of radicchio anyway. The oysters were also nice with a slightly spicy Calabrian chili mignonette. I was a little disappointed with the lasagna. The sauce seemed undercooked and lacked seasoning. The scampi was excellent and plentiful. Desserts were huge!
Our server was so on top of it without being pushy, he clearly had a knack for picking up on small non verbal cues. Delicious food and wonderful atmosphere
The List Marine Holiday party returned to Piatti - because it's a wonderful restaurant to enjoy an evening together. I give highest rating for service, food and ambiance.
Beautiful place to share a lunch with a friend! Not rushed! Delish mushroom pizza…hold the onions. My friend enjoyed the huge portion of lasagna…with enough leftover for dinner! So very tasty. Great service. Friendly and kind. Definitely will return!
Brunch is always amazing at this spot. Service is always awesome. Can't beat the view. Brunch items are interesting and creative spins on typical brunch. A must try!!
Piatti was DELICIOUS! If you want a quiet Italian spot with a great view and genuinely good eats, this is for you. Service there is amazing, everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. I got the Caesar, spinach and ricotta lemon cream tortellini and chicken Marsala (all shared by me and my partner). The portions were perfect and we ate every last bite- no food leftover. Genuinely one of the best Italian spots I’ve had. Additionally, if you’re looking for a place outside of the city, this is for you! Will definitely be returning when I’m back around San Francisco.
There were 5 of us for dinner, and we all loved 5 of 7 dishes we ordered. The lasagna and the kale bean soup were excellent. The service was outstanding, and the very helpful manager deftly handled a gift card issue. Great place. We will be back.
Amazing family dinner tonight! Eduardo accommodated our request for outside dining and made our evening special. Service was over the top. Thanks Ricky for your impeccable attention. And Antonio thanks for stepping in for Jordan! Gracias amigo! Flavours were delicious. A memorable evening for a memorable occasion!
I enjoy having brunch at Piatti on weekends, and the brunch menu is fantastic! I recommend the ravioli for dinner. Seating insidea can be tight when it's crowded.
Overall B: Lovely local place, food great, service good, sat inside, Ceaser salad with really big juicy anchovies, local wine, bit pricey. Recommend!
Friends invited my husband and I to join them at Piatti last August. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that we could actually speak in normal tones and carry on conversation in this busy restaurant. The food was quite good and the service quite good. I'd return.
This is one of the few "nice" restaurants that is very kid friendly. The food is done well but not particularly inspiring, with regularly changing specials. They have a full bar as well as specialty cocktails, and a pretty good wine selection focusing on local wines along with a small Italian selection. The service is excellent and the view is a great accompaniment to a consistently enjoyable experience.
Had a very nice meal with three of my adult children. Service wasn’t over the top but it was acceptable. Good food and nice atmosphere.
What is a five star ? Coffee was great. Wood fired pizza very very good but have had better. Nice sized. View of water. Light bright interior.
While this has been a very nice restaurant in the past, I was surprised at the food and somewhat the service. I had the tortellini and the pasta was old. Hard, sort of crunchy, fell apart in my mouth. The lemon flavoring was drowned out by all the garlic topping. I definitely wouldn’t order this again. Additionally, there is no small salad as a side to your entree. You must order a full size dinner salad or go without. The manager found it necessary to pull my server away from me and get his own needs met. I find this all a management problem. I hope they do better in the future.
Not on par with the better Italian restaurants for the food, but it's ok and the dining room feels open and pleasant looking out to the hills across the bay marsh even though apartment buildings are right across the water. Service is pleasant and efficient, although not as helpful as they could be. Stick with the pasta dishes for the best experience, but don't expect four or five star taste no matter what.
It's a nice place, with a great view of the water. It's a little loud, so conversations can be difficult. We started with the Fritta mista, which want very good. The calamari was overcooked, the fried green beans were crunchy, but not tasty at all. Pass on the mista. Cesar salad was okay. I can see that the chef was going for a look with whole young leaves, but it made it difficult to eat. I liked the Parmesan crisps on it, but others at the table did not. The dressing didn't have any punch. I had the rigatoni, which I enjoyed. Others had eggplant, or pomodoro, and we're not impressed. Other than the mista, I thought that it was okay. Our hosts felt that it did not stand up to other similar restaurant choices in the area.
We got the mushroom pizza and eggplant parm with a Caesar salad and the salad was by far the best of the three dishes. The pizza and eggplant were dry, the chicken tasted like it was reheated and not baked into the pizza and the mushrooms were the same. When you picked up a slice the mushrooms and chicken fall off the crust. Very disappointing and won’t be ordering from there again.
Quality of the ingredients is really disappointing here. I think I've been spoiled from eating at some of gourmet pizzerias and pasta at local restaurants. I have to say I was hoping that the food would be better, but the quality of the pizza and the crust is embarrassingly bad, the pasta is just not very good quality (I imagine if Denny's had rigatoni this is pretty much what it would taste like). The chicken was so salty that I'm assuming they're buying it from one of those factories where they inject it with salt. That being said, if you're not that picky about quality ingredients it's passable and will certainly fill you up. I really had hoped that this would be one of the few good chain restaurants out there, but it's felt like another factory meal from another big chain.
Great bartender, Food was mediocre at best. My spinach and ricotta tortellini had a delicious sauce but the tortellini was very very thick and folded over with very thick though and very little filling. The lasagna was very watery and look like a pile of slop. They also have a service charge. Won’t be back for the food,
Drink orders taken. Drinks received. The waiter asked if we, a table of 3 were ready to order. Demonstrating with fingers close together said a few more minutes. The waiter returned and took orders. Waited 1 hour and 50 minutes. Motioned the waiter to cancel one of the items on order. We were told the pizza was too far along to cancel. It will be out shortly. Waited another 30 minutes. All 3 orders came. We all refused to accept. The manager came to the table and said No charge. That was unacceptable. We insisted on paying. Drinks we paid for. A coded gift card was given to the payee for $50 by the manager
Man I used to get the chopped salad all the time. Got it to go today. No provolone cheese barely any salami. For $18 I got some chopped romaine 4 olives and some chickpeas. Wow!
