Beautiful coffee! Every time I come to Amenia I drive here to get my fix of amazing coffee beans. Kudos to the team behind it.
Really great coffee and the breakfast burrito and grilled cheese are standouts for a cafe lunch. Nice for working and has wifi.
An actual treat to have excellent coffee made properly by talented baristas outside of NYC. The food is pretty good, too.
I come here often for the coffee. Never burnt, always fresh and hot. They have a friendly staff and delicious lox.
Great atmosphere and delicious coffee. Staff is all great at their job and kind/friendly too. Perfect stop.
Best coffee in town, friendly staff, delicious food. North East Ford loves the support of this local business
The owners are amazing people
This is easy one of the top three rosters in NY State. The location itself is well designed and while it can seat a fair amount (finding a power outlet can be challenging at times) of people, it is easy to carry on a conversation. Pastries and food are usually delicious (but a little on the pricy side). I've always been served with smile and a helpful suggestion when needed!
I got a hot chai and the fiancee got a latte. All very good, and prices are pretty good for the area. My only complaint is the constant stream of NYCers every time I'm there! There are plenty of places to eat back in Manhattan. But w/e.
I’m a little jaded because they buy from us at North East Ford as do so many of their employees and they send us so many customers. But in reality it’s that atmosphere literally being engaged in every part of the community a place to sit with friends and relax. Super warm mood coupled special pastries, and coffees to die for makes Irving Farm a must Lann Rubin II North East Ford, Millerton & North East Service Center Milton NY Ulster County
We went for coffee and pastries and liked it so much we went back for lunch. They had vegan and vegetarian options and were quick with the service. It was busy when we went so have some patience and relax.
A charming local coffee shop! The staff is always super friendly and attentive. The food is delicious (especially the cinnamon rolls!!!). A perfect spot for a warm cup of caffeine and a snack!
We used to go to their original .location in Manhattan, so we were delighted to discover the one in Millerton. Great coffee a d salads. Our only negative is that they close too early for us.
My friend and I went here because two of our favorite artists, Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler were here and filmed a music video in the cafe. We ended up getting food and all I can say is their grilled cheese slaps. I usually don't like grilled cheese, but here we are. 10/10
The food and coffee is excellent. The vibe is great but for what they charge I would recommend a better table busing system. The customers are not always so considerate in cleaning up after themselves.
Great coffee. No idea about the food, but if you take your coffee seriously, worth a stop. Only disappointment was lack of great latte art.
Great cortado and really good snacks.
Even though they were super busy when we were there, they managed to impress me. Good sandwich, good coffee, fast service, friendly staff. Would definitely visit again :)
Best Chai latte I've ever had. It's obvious the effort that the owners have put into making this place a go-to Cafe. I wish we lived closer!
Stoped by for the first time this Friday. Got the Chai latte and lox deluxe. Food was great and the baristas were very helpful.
Always a dependable stop for lunch, coffee or a fresh baked sweet. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service. The Monster Veggie Wrap is delicious!
Good coffee. A little higher class than I'm us d to. But I try to keep Elisha Happy. This place made her happy. It was very crowded coffee was Good
Excellent coffee and bagel. The ordering system could be better, but when I figured out where to grab my food it was good.
We love the food, the people and the atmosphere here. Always delicious, worth the money spent.
The perfect small-town spot to sip a cup of coffee. The food is delicious - if a bit on the expensive side. Be aware that it's rather open and can get a bit loud on a summer weekend.

This place is amazing, so amazing in fact that when we were driving to my parents house, we remembered a great coffee spot from the last visit and had to Google old credit card statements to get the name and make sure we stopped there for breakfast. Everything was delicious, thanks!
Amazing smoky coffee, lattes are perfect the place is clean and welcoming. The gentleman barista made us feel welcome and was very friendly. Will definitely return.
So happy to finally see this restaurant thriving again went in last winter the place was dirty and the staff was very rude went in today staff was wonderful and smiling and they had other staff member cleaning the food wasn’t the greatest my evil moo wasn’t made correctly but staff with smiles on their faces really help my decision for the good review maybe someone can teach the new chef how to make a evil moo correctly
Really loved this little spot. Clean and welcoming. Great Cappuccino, and the breakfast sandwiches were awesome. Filled you up but didnt slow you down. The two gentlemen who were working the counter were super friendly and helpful. If you're a local, you are lucky to have this establishment, and if you are just passing through town, don't pass it up.
A coffee shop that makes beautiful coffee and gluten free breads AND has a fire place! I LOVE this place so much!
My brother recommended Irving Farms coffee, and I can understand why. It is full of flavor and one of thr best lattes I've had in a while. I had an iced latte and bought 4 bags of whole bean coffee. It's too bad Irving Farms doesn't move into Ithaca since most of the Starbucks closed.
I can highly recommend Irving Farm. We came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The service was very friendly and also quick, despite being quite busy. There are plenty of seating options inside. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her coffee. My children loved their chocolate croissants (pain au chocolate) which were excellent. I had a bacon and egg bap which was also delicious. The menu has a good range of options, a lot including egg in some guise and there’s also a vegan option. All in all a good place to go when in Millerton.
Stopped in today for lunch, on our route 44 drive. Irving Farm is the cutest Cafe! We had the "balto" and the grilled cheese. Excellent sandwiches, great atmosphere. We ate inside. A hidden jem in Millerton! Service was great too!!
I now live in AZ, but was just dreaming about the big fat chicken-pita wrap with grapes in it I had here years ago, plus other times just wandering in for a coffee. Can't say enough good stuff, and am puzzled by some of the silliest criticisms I've ever read. (I lived in Millerton from 1947-1957.)
A regular stop when we're in Millerton. It's close to the rail trail and there's a park across the street for al fresco dining.
Cute little coffee shop in the quaint town, Millerton, NY. The regular latte is delicious and there is always a line when we visit. Thankfully, the line is so fast, and we get our drinks pretty quickly too! I read online that there are a good number of coffee shops in NYC that use Irving Farm coffee beans. Update: I recently came and ordered their fall special dirty pumpkin chai latte. It was too sweet. They were “sweet” enough to add more milk though! I’d recommend getting it with 30% or 50% sweetness.
Stopped by here for coffee and lunch, had a great experience! The grilled cheese sandwich was heavenly. My friend ordered an iced dirty chai and loved it as well. Prices were very low!! The interior was clean with lots of seating (the tables are weirdly small though). We chose to walk across the street and sit outside! Delicious food, nice employees. Highly recommend for a nice breakfast/lunch and coffee break.
It was such a beautiful cafe, they have tons of seats indoor and with nice and sleek interior design. I love how they carefully curated the merchandise(coffee beans and mugs). Most importantly the coffee was really good, I got the ice latte and it tasted very good and smooth. Highly recommend this place to grab a coffee to go or just hanging out with friends or just by yourself, working with laptop or reading. Street parking available and easy to find during the weekday.
Very delicious coffee, good selection of treats and a friendly staff. Small Town charm and big city top quality coffee.
Was really looking forward to good food and good coffee on our trip back to the city but they let us know all food would take 30 minutes. What?! Sounds like they are understaffed for the holiday weekend. Disappointed to be getting back on the road with coffee but no food!
Great coffee stop especially since they make their own beans. Also had some very tasty mini Danish Although pricey for their 2 bites at $1,50
Great breakfast shop with good wifi and plenty of traves near plugs, love seeing up shop here to do some work in a bright and cheery place. The prices are good, and I really like some the bagels. Staff are also really friendly. Not that it really matters to anyone, but the toilets are always top rate.
I’ve always loved Irving Farms coffee and notice it frequently used at other local shops. The cafe was very cute and was a nice large space. The kitchen doesn’t let you make ANY modifications to the items in the menu… They have gluten free options and the chocolate peanut butter bite was super good! I also got a large iced latte, a little bitter but overall a good latte.
Overpriced, pretentious NYC atmosphere with rude non attentive help. $4 for 8oz coffee. I don’t go here anymore.
Used to be phenomenal but now it's dirty and the food is expensive and poorly done... Eg pale and bland cookies... Not to mention terrible customer service with wait staff that have huge attitudes. Why can't young people understand that we are PAYING customers?
Decent coffee shop, good atmosphere. Coffee is meh in my opinion, esp for the premium price. It would be nice if they roasted something other than dark roast. Perhaps it's just personal taste though.
Irving farm is not what it used be anymore. The take-out style for food feels cheap and lazy. I remember when food was served on plates and presentation was half the joy and excitement. Also, the renovation was really unnecessary and made the place look more bland and character-lacking. Its too bad, as it used to be one of my favourites...
Irving Farm makes great coffee. Cool vibes, delicious baked goods - but this is the third time we’ve been to a location, and every time the customer service is curt, rude, snooty, and dismissive. How hard is it to train your staff to say hello. To smile. To talk to you about the menu. To thank you for coming in. If this business worried about the customer experience as much as the quality of the roast, they’d be 4.8 stars across the board.
Average overpriced coffee house. Coffee has improved in the last few years but it's really only for rich people.
Great vibe and food...coffee could be a little nutier for my liking. Worst coffee ship WIFI I have ever experienced and it's been like that for a long time. That is a bad considering cell coverage blows in this area.
It's... fine. The $8 avo toast was a tiny size slice of multi grain bread with a bit of avocado and some pickled onions, but it tasted pretty good. Was just the smallest avo toast I've seen, especially at that price. The cappuccino is a decent 3rd wave cap, but nothing amazing. Service is also tired and curt but not rude. Would not particularly recommend.
So bad I order a evil moo hardly any goat cheese no hot sauce and 1 slice of egg I give up beside watered down coffee I’ll take my business elsewhere staff doesn’t even seem to want to work there
I used to go here all the time but it seems recently their quality has gone way down. I used to love coming here with my boyfriend but ive decided that its probably not worth it to spend 35 dollars on a blt and gross coffee.
Food is good however the phone number online is for corporate office, so you won't place an order there and then I spent a half an hour calling once I did get the number off a friend. I used to work there which is why I gave it 2stars, I know the quality is good but this service is now terrible. No one answers the phone, went to a disconnected answering machine twice and other times I just got a busy tone as if they just opened the phone line and set it down. Very sad when a company this large can't even get their phone number right on Google nor can get their employees to answer the phone.
The past few times I've been in, the coffee hasn't tasted great, and the service has been rude and/or obviously overworked and tired. The breakfast burrito I received was small for the price, overly salted, and the eggs tasted strongly like they were cooked in bacon grease. As a vegetarian, this was surprising and disappointing. I had positive experiences here months ago, so I hope things change for the better.
Took a drive up to Millerton and popped into the cafe today. The two young girls serving had zero skills interacting with customers. They were completely dismissive when asked about certain items on the menu and were terse. My husband and I have stopped by this cafe many times. Today has put me off from coming here again. These girls should get trained in interacting pleasantly to their customers.
Careful with this place. Don't come here for the food, unless you enjoy scaled up fast food. Coffee is decent. [Message for business owner, if you can't make $ on your coffee then you're in the wrong business]
We are visiting friends for a few weeks and have been enjoying coming here nearly every day. Today, we arrived at 3:50. The staff had all chairs stacked on tables, but were still making drinks and had other customers in line. We ordered a coffee to go and stood chatting for a moment by the coffee bar. One of the staff members interrupted us to shout across the room “we are actually closed” in a tone that made us jump and make haste for the door. I checked my phone and it was exactly 4pm. I am all for staff leaving to enjoy free time, but I don’t think you need to yell at customers to do so especially when it is barely closing time.
Dunkin-tier espresso with burnt flavor and low quality milk. Staff was kind but other patrons stared at my partner and I like we had three heads when we walked in. Mid coffee, weird vibes
Look elsewhere to support local business— I was totally underwhelmed by my experience at this “trendy” local coffee chain. The atmosphere was sterile and franchise-y without any warmth or vibes. Considering how popular Irving coffee is the actual espresso shot in my late was flavorless, weak, and poor quality. I ordered a burrito that didn’t have anything going for it….everything tasted out of the can, without any substantial flavor. I took one bite and threw it in the trash. Sorry for the brutal review, but there are many other small businesses, cafes and eateries nearby that I’d rather support than here.
Not a great experience overall. They didn't have drip coffee because they were closing early, which was fine, but the staff seemed frazzled with 30 minutes left before closing. They made my Americano with milk for some reason. They were rude to all customers that were in the store with 15+ minutes to close. Our chai latte was good so +1 star for that.
Service is unreal. They are so rude and incompetent, one could think it’s a comedy. Sadly, it’s not. Just upstate hipster reality. As unpleasant as their soggy salad.
RUDE staff! You ask them for a napkin and the barista (with red hair) rolls her eyes at you. The cashier didn’t smile once. The vibe is cool but don’t bother with this place.
I stood in line for over 20min only to find out they were out of coffee and not only that but they weren’t even making more… just not selling coffee. I was offered to buy an iced coffee instead. Pretty sad for a coffee shop not to sell coffee at all?
Rude service, wouldn’t serve coffee 10 min before closing.
Quite possibly the worst avocado toast we’ve ever had in our lives. Drenched in oil and completely inedible.
I've been through here a half dozen times or so over the past few months and today was the last time. Summary: Food is overpriced for what it is. Customer service is lacking. Customer base and atmosphere is obnoxious... and most importantly the Mocha latte has progressively become more and more weak and watery. AVOID
UPDATE 2024: Irving Farm has flushed quality down the toilet. They used to roast high quality beans and train the best baristas. They’ve cut corners to the point where they’ve ruined a previously lovely cafe. The people who work there seem genuinely miserable and determined to make every customer as miserable as they are. Also, who designed the seating arrangement, with all those tiny tables and horribly uncomfortable chairs crowded together? Just awful. Bring back the big table and comfy chairs. I’ve been to almost all of the NYC Irving Farms, but Millerton continues to be my favorite. The baristas are friendly and make wicked-good espresso drinks. The menu has been limited recently due to COVID but they’ve kept the best options - I recommend the Fernando breakfast sandwich. They are also being extremely careful during the pandemic. I always feel safe going in there. The staff are always masked (which must be so uncomfortable for them - so thank you!) and they do a good job of keeping crowds dispersed. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Service was not the pick of the litter! I rarely write a review, and a negative review is difficult. This is a bad review. The lady behind the counter was bottom line curt, rude, said all she needed to say with eye rolls, "under her breath" comments, and all I can say is if looks could kill...words that will hurt and are downright cruel....but her looks did a number on me, we just wanted tea and coffee. Sure it was 7:45 am, the coffee house was not crowded, there wasn't even a line. Please don't take your bad energy out on your customers, and some of them may just decide that they are tired of just walking away from rudeness. While it’s natural to get upset, lose your cool or feel like retaliating...and I was not PC. Tea and coffee were great....service sucked and it is a shame.
I've had marginally better egg and cheese sandwiches at gas stations that didn't cost me $10. I asked for an egg and cheese on a bagel and got a soggy roll (ew, why was it soggy?) with a single overcooked egg and what appeared to be a quarter slice of store brand american cheese. It was busy but I didn't mind the wait as I had heard good things, and after I placed my order with an employee who was on her phone and held up a finger for me to wait (gotta love that customer service) I was shouldered around by rude customers and generally felt claustrophobic and uncomfortable. It is not a relaxing environment for a cafe. The atmosphere is pretentious hipster trying to pass as a "farm to table cafe" to attract tourists. The staff is downright rude and I'm honestly shocked at how many reviews praise the quality of their food. If you're looking for a quick bite of actual farm to table food and coffee go to Crossroads in Hillsdale. Don't waste your time, money, and sanity at this place.
Great food! Great coffee! I’ve been here 20+ times and the staff seem to be seething with anger. I’ve been a barista for an independent coffee shop - it’s not that serious. What’s going on here?
Been coming here for years. Food and service has always been excellent. Was waiting for an order last week when another customer walked in and proceeded to empty his dirty dog bowl water into the sink right by the sugar and milk products for customer use. He then filled his dog bowl with fresh water from the same area and brought it to his dog outside. He came back in ordered a coffee and went back outside to sit with his dog. I was amazed that both employees behind the counter did not say anything to the man. I asked if they saw what happened and they said Yes, and that it was OK for him to fill his dog bowl there. I disagree, and will never be back.
I was here in May, dealt directly with the owner/manager, he was lovely. Today we went in about 1:30, we got up to the counter, my friend was being waited on and i was standing next to her. She started ordering and then this other rude and horrible female worker interrupted and said to me, can i help you? I was asking about the menu. The first worker was explaining how the menu changed some. Ok, so they don't have roasted turkey any longer. I asked if I could have one of the sandwiches without the onion and without Russian dressing. The obnoxious LOUD one said NO WE CANT DO THAT. I said, im sorry, are they premade, she said no. I said so cant the cook omit the onion and omit the russian dressing. She said NO, WERE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT. im thinking to myself, are you kidding me? There is a sign that says no substitutions, i get that. So the owner would rather i walk away and not spend $16 each for a sandwich, plus coffee and dessert for two? Just because you would not or could not omit onion and Russian dressing on my sandwich? She's like yes, we cant do that. And it's the way she spoke to me, so damn rude and insolent. A real *itch. She was 5'2 or so, very dark hair, a little past her neck, wearing a cap about 30. She should be fired. I will never go back. And if she WAS instructed by the owner to treat customers that way or not allow a customer to omit something, I even said what if I was allergic? Then they dont deserve my business or anyone elses. Plenty other polite merchants in the village. They should be ashamed!!!!
This place used to be nice, but the customer service is so bad. And atmosphere is depressing. All in all just uncomfortable and overpriced. Paid $15 for two drinks.
This is not the small town coffee shop that I grew up with and knew. When I went back to go visit family and I went and visited Irving Farms and saw that a lot of things have changed on the menu and ownership has changed. I went to go order a sausage, chicken cheese, and the owner completely utterly rude said we don’t do substitutions and then I looked at him and I said why not what we’re not a deli and I said you’re a small town coffee shop And I said OK then I’ll get the bacon bacon cheese, but can I get it on a bagel? He said no because they don’t make substitutions and they will not make any requests. My mother has a dietary restriction and asked to do an egg and bacon sandwich without cheese they said no and I said charge us the full price and I refuse to take the cheese off because my mother can’t have dairy they told us that we need to go somewhere south, and take her business elsewhere. Definitely not catering to locals and pushing everyone away. Great job
I’ve been a customer for years and noticed a significant change since they reopened and changed management and most of the staff. I have been several times in the last 3 weeks; the cooler has less options and the bakery display isn’t as stocked as it once was. The menu is much smaller. If you order an iced latte or chai, prepare to pay $5 for A LOT of ice and A LOT of milk. More milk than they used to have in their lattes even. The person making them makes a good drink and has for years, but I think they’re being told by new management to overload on ice and milk to maximize profits. Yesterday, I ordered one and - no exaggeration - there was so much ice that I had 5 pulls off my straw before the coffee was drained. The staff seems really overworked and sparse at times. They’re VERY friendly, but it’s hard not to feel bad for them. Do better, Irving. The upstairs part of the building hosts pricey short term rentals and the menu is expensive; I think you can well afford to hire staff and make the drinks that used to separate Irving from the other places in the area.
Take your business elsewhere. As many of the other reviews stated, they do not do substitutions on their menu, even if you’re asking them to just leave off tomatoes or have your sandwich on a bagel instead of a bun. The staff is extremely rude and the food/coffee is overpriced.
I don't normally write reviews, but left here feeling unusually bad about this experience. I went here with my partner around 3pm today. We ordered the Balto (which is supposed to include bacon, avocado, lettuce, and tomato) and a couple of drinks. When we got the food and took a couple of bites, we realized that the sandwich didn't include bacon. My partner went up to the cashier and let them know that the sandwich was missing bacon and had politely said that he wasn't sure what the solution was, and they replied by saying "We are out of bacon". And he had said that they charged us full price even though it was missing bacon and they said "There's no way to adjust the price". We were pretty exhausted from traveling and didn't push the issue further, but we were there the whole time and they could have let us know that they were out of bacon when we ordered or, even if they didn't know at the time, they could have asked us if we wanted something else when they realized that. We ended up spending $38 (plus tip) for a couple of drinks and a veggie and mayo sandwich. On top of all that, the cashier had been putting chairs on tables to close the coffee shop (which wasn't supposed to close for another 45 minutes) when there was a long line of people waiting to order. Meanwhile the bathroom and coffee bar were a mess. I have been to Irving Farm in NYC and had only positive experiences, but this experience was profoundly bad. Everyone makes mistakes and has bad days, I get it, but the fact that even if it was a mistake they didn't even apologize, take any kind of responsibility, or try to make it right is an unusually bad level of service that I would not expect.
Had a great earl grey tea at this coffee shop but the service was dreadful. We were expecting the usual American welcome but the lady who took our order was very brusque & unfriendly…most dismissive when we asked a question. I know we all have bad days but it was rather unexpected. The drinks were great, server was most definitely not.
Over prices food was not good at all I would not recommend this place to nobody
For years, Pre Covid, my family and I would enjoy Irving Farm for its good food and nice atmosphere. Now it’s eat in again, but they don’t even have plates for orders that need a plate, not even a paper plate. I ordered a “plate” of eggs served in a box, and my side of avocado is separate in foil??! The egg is also in little rubbery bits, reminiscent of a chopped cheeseburger. I question why there is no form of plates if there is a sit down option. Covid is not the issue any longer. Disappointed and will remember not to order sit down type food again. Oakhurst, Giffords or Provisions are all much better choices if you want to actually sit and enjoy a breakfast outside of a sandwich or a bagel. I also miss the glass mugs when staying inside.
The coffee was not even warm. Egg sandwich was just terrible as it had garlic something on the bottom and the English Muffin that it was on was not even toasted. There was music that was so LOUD, you could not talk to each other. Very over priced. Says 1-10 dollars, I only saw 2 things under $10. I returned my horrible egg sandwich and could not wait to get out of there!
The food is tasty but customer service is an incredibly negative experience. The staff doesn’t acknowledge or greet you, rarely do they even respond to a thank you or have a nice day. Just basic courtesy. Everyone seems pissed off to be there and is just rude. Sucks because local places are hard to come by but it’s just an awful feeling being there and everyone I’ve talked to has same complaint. Also any grocery goods for sale are marked up 3 times higher than the same products I see at other stores. Not worth the money, I hope they train the staff better or hire new people, or get a manager, not sure what the issue is.
NOT RECOMMENDED - Do make sure to check the order receipt before paying coz they make mistakes while punching the order and DO NOT return the difference amount if there is a mistake. We asked for Veggie Breakfast Burrito since it was for a vegetarian and they punched Regular Breakfast Burrito and it came with an egg They tagged my Mocha with Oat Milk(charged extra) which i never asked for, when i asked them to rectify they said the ice in a mocha is same as additional amount of the oat milk. Very unprofessional Avocado Toast is very tiny for the price
