Traits: Fresh noodles, QR menu, complimentary water, quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, big portions, good pricing I ordered the Spicy pork short rib Noodle soup, which always comes with cooked bok-choy and bone-in short ribs. The broth comes in a separate bowl with a soup spoon, letting you combine it with your noodles as desired. There's seasonings to the side that you can use like chili oil and sauces. Every time I've come here, the meat falls right off the bone and the cartilage is lovely. The seasonings are not overpowering and the noodles carry the flavor the entire way. The broth always comes out nice and rich, not watery, and the noodles are pleasant. The staff have been incredible, always seem happy to work and even eat there. It's nice to see them enjoying the food as much as the customers and they're always very kind. They deserve every tip they get. The restaurant is very clean and decorated, the music isn't too loud and the experience feels very comforting. The menu is extensive and offers knife cut noodles as well as hand pulled with various sizes from belt to thin. There's even crab rangoons and a cold tofu dish which is fresh and pleasant. There's definitely something for everyone. Overall; if you're in the area and are craving some noodles, stop by and bring your friends! You won't be disappointed.
We tried Highland Noodles right when they opened with a group of three, and it ended up being such a pleasant surprise. There was plenty of seating, the space was super clean, the staff was nice and welcoming, and parking was really easy — always a plus. Since it was our first visit, we didn’t really know what to expect, but we loved everything we ordered. We got the pork belly noodles, the pig ear, and the cold shredded potato. The noodles were super bouncy, the broth was flavorful without being too heavy, and the pork belly had just the right bite. Both cold appetizers were great as well, refreshing, well seasoned, and nicely balanced. This is one of those places my husband and I still think about every now and then when we’re back home, which says a lot. We’ll definitely be back to try more dishes next time we’re in the area!
Very tasty, great value, going to have to explore more here 🤗 Easy to order, service and food was quick. Not quite sure how spicy 🔥 is too spicy but we opted to go with a mix of mild and spicy.
I came here because my friend had put some money down in account here for a discount, which you can use towards food but not tip or gift cards, obviously. We didn’t order try any of the beef noodle soups they were known for because there were much more interesting things to order. They have a large selection of snacks, like XLB, dumplings, beef pancake and the like. We tried the pan-fried buns and they were alright. Crispy but there was not enough soup inside and the meat filling was so-so. We also got cumin lamb skewers as an appetizer. One order has two skewers, very filling and with lots of chili powder. We ordered one soup to share and it was the perfect light starter. The portion was very good too. There is enough for about 8 bowls of soup. Recommended dishes: -spicy tofu and preserved egg: I cannot gush enough about this dish. This isn’t your standard thousand year old egg dish with some pork sung on top. It is well-seasoned, spicy 🌶️ to cut into some of that flavor that turns some people off. There are two types of preserved egg. Easily our favorite of the night, hands down. -crispy fish with tomato sauce. It was delicious and the price was the cheapest I have seen recently. -dry chicken noodles in brown gravy sauce. This is a large dish and there are scissors to cut the ever so long pulled noodles.
A friend recommended this place a while back and we decided to try it out. The food does not disappoint. The spicy lamp skewers are spicy, but flavorful. The pancakes with green onion beef are good. The pancakes are crispy. The Dan Dan Noodles and braised beef noodles are good too. Very satisfying meal overall. 😊
Review updates: The combo options were not longer available. But there are other delicious options that definitely worth to try! I ordered knife cutting noddles a couple of weeks ago. And it’s super delicious!! It’s the first time I’ve the real fresh knife cutting noddles in the Bay Area! Highly recommend!! Prior reviewed: It’s super great deal for the combo options!! They offer an appetizer, a big portion of noodle, and a dessert for only about $20 !!!! I can’t find any other place has such a great deal!! And the foods here are very delicious!! Very fresh and tasty. I like the beef thin and with good taste, very gander and not too old to bite. The white wood ear soup is very soft and not too sweet! It’s the best I’ve ever have in the Bay Area!! And the service here is also very good. Highly recommend!
I had a nice meal with my family here. The noodles were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The broth was rich and flavorful, making it a standout part of the meal. I also tried the General Chicken and Origen Chicken, both of which were great, with just the right balance of crispy and tender. The pork chops were equally impressive, cooked to perfection and packed with taste. Overall, the food was excellent, and I highly recommend Highland Noodles for anyone looking for a satisfying and flavorful meal.
Absolutely spicy, but delicious! Everything we ordered was hot, fresh, and so tasty! The Pea Sprouts with garlic and the Steam Egg with ground pork reminded me of my childhood. Although the Sweet & Sour Crispy Pork was super sticky, it was super fun and delicious to eat. The bamboo pig intestine with Medium Noodles was tender, silky, and chewy. The Spicy Beef Hand pulled wide Noodles and the Dan Dan Noodle was so spicy but fun to eat, luckily we had some cucumber salad and pineapple beer-flavored soda to cool off the spices. Highly recommend all of the dishes, maybe a little spicy for those who can't eat spicy but think they can. Heehee (.. Me! …) Service was great too!
This place has been on our must try list for a while so I'm glad we got the opportunity to do so. I ordered the Braised Beef Knife Cut Noodle Soup and the whole dish was delicious. The noodles were so soft and fresh, the beef was tender and the broth was really tasty. My boyfriend got the Dan Dan noodle and chocolate lava bao and he really enjoyed both. The spice level was good and the baos were soft and sweet. He wants to go back and try other dishes now. You order by QR code when you sit down and just flag someone down when you're ready to pay or need a box. Definitely try it out !
I have to let you all know that i am a picky eater and my standards are very high. We came to eat on 2/26 and everything was DELICIOUS. If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would. The knife cut noodles were fresh and had great texture. I highly recommend getting the beef pancake roll with the jalapeños. I was a bit skeptical about that at first, but the jalapeños added SO much more depth to the dish. We also got the lychee green tea and that helped with the spice of the dishes. Also I loved the music. Whoever was on aux during lunch time on 2/26 deserves a raise. I will definitely be coming back 🙌⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food here is excellent and they have various choices! I usually go there once a week and have recommended this place to many friends. Tried many new dishes with friends this time and all of use like the spicy beef noodles, brewed rice cake, and fried Pork in scoop! Highly recommended to everyone because of the high quality of food and good service here!
one of the best chinese food places in the bay. can’t believe i didn’t come sooner so good that i came back again twice in a week great taste, generous portions and diverse selections, can’t ask for anymore
10/10! Highland noodles never disappoints. Servings are generous and food is absolutely delicious. One thing I have to mention is the excellent service. Every time without fail the servers have packed my leftovers in to go containers and bagged it for us. I dont know if they do this every time but it was sweet of them to do so. Can't wait to come back! Thank you guys very much!
Food here tasted great at first but as you eat it, it just starts to not taste as good. In my opinion the flavors were too strong that it hits you in the face or leaves a strange after taste to it(could just be the spices or seasoning they use). We got the beef spicy noodle soup, ground pork noodle, num pork ribs, soup dumplings both shrimp and pork. I will say that the shrimp&pork dumpling were amazing and what would make me to want to come back for which exceeded my expectations. There were some veggies in the num pork ribs, not sure what they were, maybe mushrooms that has a wrinkled sort of dried cabbage looking texture that was also very good. I just skipped the ribs and ate those. My cousin enjoyed the ribs a lot though, but the seasoning is a bit too strong for me considering I love strong sishuan peppercorns like from hot pot. Overall, food was ok, generous portions and if I came back, its for the soup dumplings and maybe to try other dishes. Definitely need more water though.
Food was good and service was friendly. Our orders came out separately with some time gap in between, probably because we all ordered different types of noodles and there was only one person in the kitchen making the noodles on the spot? The space is bright, airy and clean with modern decor. Different from typical Chinese restaurants
The portions are quite generous -- especially the amount of their noodles, regardless of the type of noodles you select. Our table of 6 each ordered a different bowl, and each us left pleased -- AMD full. Check out the videos and photos.
Tasty hand pulled noodles where you can choose noodle type for your dish. Good portion sizes and service. The spicy lamb skewer and pork rib noodles are both very good. Served with a side bowl of broth as well.
Excellent Noodles in a Modern, Lively Setting. Highland Noodles is a great local spot for a satisfying lunch, especially if you're craving authentic hand-pulled noodles. I stopped in and was really impressed with the main event and the overall modern feel of the place. Here’s a quick breakdown of the experience: The Noodles are the Star: The reason to come here is for the hand-pulled noodles. They have a fantastic, substantial chew to them that’s hard to find. The flavor in my Egg and Tomato noodle soup was comforting and delicious. Atmosphere & Ordering: The restaurant has a nice, modern vibe that’s lively and seems great for groups. Ordering is super easy and efficient using the QR code system at the table. What to Skip: The only part of the meal that fell flat was the lamb skewers. I found them to be quite dry and would probably pass on them next time. The Verdict: This is a solid 4-star noodle house. Come for the excellent noodles and the cool, modern atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back, and next time I'm trying the spicy hot pot noodles that everyone else seemed to be enjoying!
My Chinese friend said it was his favorite place, so we went there together. As soon as it opened at 5 o'clock, the seats filled up quickly. The food was relatively generous and the service was quick and good. The noodles and dim sum had strong spices and did not suit my taste. I plan to try other menus next time. If you prefer spicy and strong food like malatang, I recommend giving it a try.
We came here for a casual meal and were pleasantly surprised by the flavors. I ordered the beef noodle soup (non-spicy) with medium-thin noodles. The broth was flavorful but not overly salty, which made it perfect for our toddler. The noodles had a nice texture, and they even provided a toddler utensil set, which was a thoughtful touch. My husband had the sauerkraut and bamboo soup noodles. It was spicy but not overpowering—just enough to boost the appetite. The staff seated us fast when there was available space.Overall, a satisfying and family-friendly spot with well-balanced flavors. We’d definitely consider coming back!

The food is really really good. The service is pretty bad. There isn't a lot of instructions of how this place works. Your seated and that's basically it when it comes to service. You order with a QR code on the table. A crafte of water is given to you but if you need anything like more water, or napkins you are SOL because the people who work there do not check on you at all. They drop the food off and that's it. At the end of the meal, we were given the bill and the woman who came to with the credit card machine very aggressively packed our food but made us feel like we were imposing this on her to do. We asked for boxes and were surprised when she started packing our food for us, and if we talked to her at all she ignored us and made us feel like we shouldn't be there anymore. Kinda of awkward. Anyway, the food is really good so definitely worth the weirdness of the employees.
Total Score: 6.65 Bathroom: 3.5/5 Sorry folks I don’t take a picture of the bathroom. But it was just a normal looking bathroom. Nothing out of the ordinary. Plain black walls and no decor. Customer Service: 3.5/5 Minimal interaction but they refilled our waters so that’s nice. Ambiance: 3.75/5 Classic modern chines restaurant vibes. Bright and clean. Food: 3.25/5 Proportions were weird. It was hella lot of noodles and I barely had any meat. Also it was just all green pepper. There was like one piece of onion somewhere. But overall sauce was good and noodles were good texture Wow: 0.5/1 Never had noodles this thick before 💦💦 Total Score = BR + CS + 2*AM + 5*FOOD + WOW

They still has good menu with Lanzhou Lamian, lamb skewer. However, their foods taste old. After eating there, my bro felt clogges, and i had 3 really spicy bowel movement within 12h
I started coming here a few years ago when they first opened. The food is really good back then and the service was really good. I came back recently to try the food again. The food is okay but missing a little something from when the restaurant first opened. The reason for the one star rating is because we asked one of the staff members for a bowl so we could share the food. She delivered the bowl with a finger grabbing the inside of the bowl. We then witnessed her bus a table with gloves on touching all the dirty dishes. Then set the table with clean dishes but using the same dirty gloves she used to bus the table. It was quite nauseating to see. Now I'm questioning how clean their practices are back in the kitchen. Sadly it'll probably be my last visit.
