Opinions de Val's Italian Restaurant Mineola
Came here for the first time for dinner. Had the eggplant parmesan, and it was a copious amount and was very good. Alexa was our waitress, and was very attentive. Was a bit dark in the restraunt but a romantic ambiance. We will come back!
Absolutely DELICIOUS!! From the bread to the pizza, everything was amazing. It came out so fast and the servers were friendly
AMAZING !! While visiting the flea markets, I was tasked with dinner. I read the reviews and did the research. VAL’S DID NOT DISAPPOINT. My dinner guest went on and on about the entire meal. The rolls are delicious. The spicy chicken fettuccine is 10/10. The Italian Crème Cake is better than my Italian crème cake wedding cake. I can’t imagine you can go wrong here. Enjoy
The server was on top of things and very attentive. Granted we went here an hour from closing and were the only ones in the restaurant. However, that doesn't change the quality of the foods we ordered. The only thing I thought was sub-standard imo was the red snapper. Bread was too think and fish was tough. The fried Calamari appetitizers was super crispy and tasty. Fruit de Mar was very good as well as the Shrimp Fetichini Alfredo and the Tortellini Siciliano. Garlic bread was very yummy. This is a definite go back for us.
First, but definitely not my last time. Our party of 12 dropped in unannounced. Jessica was our server. She was AMAZING! Such a delight. She did a great job start to finish. She is a natural. This showed in the fact she was unhurried and thorough on her service. She even was able to banter and thus entertain us. All the while staying on point while attending to our party. Oh yes. The food. Almost forgot about the food. Forgive me. OOOMMMGGG!!!! BEYOND AWESOME!!! I've cooked on and off all my life. I know food. I had the Cheese steak. Delicious. Was served with a side of marinara. Best sauce I've had. Ever. I've worked in some premier Italian kitchens and this sauce was perfect. I had actually been waning from marinara of late, but their sauce started a while new love affair. With marinara sauce!. One friend had a beutiful, rather large grilled chicken salad. It looked fantastic. He said it was top notch. Another friend had lobster ravioli. IF I had known that was on the menu, that's what I would have ordered. Next time. I promise. The house bread is plentiful and served warm. Fresh baked, of course. I made the mistake of over indulging on it. This sadly prevented me from having desert. Next time. I promise. If you're looking for fine Italian food at fair prices, with unbeatable service, Val's is the place for you. I promise! Never trust a skinny food critic. Don't forget the shopping distric. Val's is located in the premier antique shopping district of East TexasY'all come!
Consistently good food! I have eaten here twice, we have had pasta and pizza. The portions are large and the sauces delicious. If you are in Mineola, do yourself a favor, stop in and have a great meal. And as a bonus, I pointed out to my son last night, the staff seemed happy and were smiling!
Best Italian restaurant we've been to in a while.
Fresh soft bread, interesting house salad, reminded me of cocktail sauce. I got the chicken parmigiana and was not disappointed. Crispy despite being covered in sauce and mozzarella. Good red sauce. I will be back.

Super delicious Italian food! In Mineola? YES! The service is great, waitress actually WAITS like good old fashioned service; not like other places that interrupt you, asking if you need more water when your glass is full.... most places should call their waitresses "interrupters", but not here. At Val's, they are respectful and attentive. The dinner plate was absolutely perfect. One of the dishes was spaghetti with Italian sausage. Very generous portions! And utterly delicious. I'll be back here often, in fact, every day I'm in Mineola. There are several good restaurants in Mineola but this is easily THE BEST!
When I walked into the restaurant, the first thing I noticed was the cozy environment! From the oldie music to the beautiful lighting, everything was wonderful. The eggplant parmesan was all around spectacular and I recommend it to anyone and everyone. The waitresses were very patient and kind to us the whole time. 11/10 experience!!
My mother and I came in around 1:30 for lunch yesterday. Little did I know the medication I had taken an hour previously would threaten my life due to an allergic reaction. The staff went 1000% out of their way to help me and mom (and bless the ER nurse Cindy who was sitting behind me) to exit to the emergency room with dignity despite my dire situation. When I was released from the ER in Lindale we dined on our dishes and they were exquisite. Thank you Val’s staff for your yummy food but mostly for your hospitality and help yesterday. You saved my life!
We stopped in this past weekend and were not disappointed. The food was wonderful and the waitstaff stayed on top of keeping our beverages filled. I had the Val's Chicken Special, and my friend had the Chicken Parmigiana. They were both cooked to perfection and the sauce was very flavorful. If you are looking for Italian in this area of Texas, Val's may be a great place to try.
Food was really great. Everyone on our group left happy. The huge bread knots in the beginning were amazing.
Super good food! Staff is friendly and prompt. Very clean and comfortable.

Husband picked up the supreme pizza for take out. We've tried pizza from all the places around between Alba and surrounding areas. I'm gonna have to say, this is the best pizza in the area by far! Thank you!
Every time we visit Val’s Italian Restaurant, the food is absolutely delicious—consistent, flavorful, and always hits the spot. Whether it’s pasta, pizza, or one of their specials, we’ve never had a bad meal. The staff truly makes the experience even better. Sara and Josie are both outstanding—they’re friendly, attentive, and always go above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They even remember our regular order, which adds such a personal touch and keeps us coming back. A special shoutout to Aubrey, who used to be at the Mineola location and is now the manager in Chandler. She’s fantastic, and we definitely miss seeing her here, but we know Chandler is lucky to have her. Val’s is more than just a restaurant—it’s a place where you feel like family. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and even better service!
We ate at Val's for the first time last night. A friend said they made a good steak, so we gave it a try. My husband had the steak and found it to be a cheap cut with lots of fat. We prefer the steak just down the road at Logan's. But I can't fault a place that specializes in pizza and pasta for a mediocre steak. Rolls were delicious, salad was fresh, my chicken was excellent. Mixed veggies were cooked perfectly and the portion was large. We had a very nice waitress, booths were clean, nice atmosphere. We will try it again, but maybe for pizza next time. Overall, recommend eating here, just not the steak.
Definitely recommended by my best friend, didn't disappoint. Taste food and very authentic Italian dishes. I enjoyed the pasta and the 🍕 pizza, a must definitely "try it out" place for Italian food!
Pizza was great, service was good. My only complaint is that our salads had barely been chopped up, big chunks of lettuce, and got one single slice of tomato and one thick slice of cucumber lol
Dinner at Val’s was pleasant and quick. The restaurant was not overly full for a Saturday night. The rolls were fluffy and filling. The egg plant parm was very thinly sliced. The portobello mushroom ravioli with an Alfredo sauce was delicious. The child’s spaghetti was a very good portion and he took some home. The house salad was what you would expect, ice burg lettuce, nothing spectacular. Our server was nice and did ok checking on us during dinner.

It’s just always wrong. I’ve ordered multiple times and never said anything but today pizza is missing toppings, not cooked the way we asked it to be. I stayed away several months, gave them another try but just can’t seem to get it right.
We came in expecting a wonderful dinner, and for the most part, the experience started off great. The dishes we ordered — three full-size entrées, a salad, and a kids’ spaghetti and meatballs — were all delicious. Unfortunately, the experience changed when dessert arrived. I ordered the tiramisu, and after one bite, I immediately noticed it tasted sour, like spoiled milk. I even had my sister try it to make sure I wasn’t mistaken before bringing it to the staff’s attention. When I informed them, I felt dismissed. The owner stated that it was impossible for the dessert to be bad because it is frozen and thawed for service. However, the tiramisu I received was completely room temperature and not cold at all. I politely explained my concern, but I did not appreciate feeling as though I was being called dishonest. The dessert was removed from the bill, which I do appreciate, but the interaction itself left a negative impression. I believe the situation could have been handled with more professionalism and understanding. While we enjoyed the majority of our meal, the service experience at the end was disappointing enough that we will be dining elsewhere in the future. We will continue to take our business to Veronas in Alba, the taste of Italy on Lake Hawkins or even Ancona located in Quitman. We will not be back!

Do not go here if you are in a wheelchair. The bathrooms are not handicap accessible at all. The women's restroom is so small, it's like a small closet. My wheelchair couldnt fit in the room at all and there are no hand bars. I was told the men's restroom was bigger, but there was no way to make it to the toilet with my wheelchair in there either. And the restrooms are clearly marked "Men" and "Women" and neither marked handicap accessible. The bathrooms were also disgustingly dirty. The vents had so much dust and dirt covering them, there couldnt have been much airflow. The food was meh. The menu says handmade pasta, but none of it is handmade when I asked. The bread was great and the waitress was extremely nice (and was so sweet and apologetic when she realized I couldnt use the restroom). The chicken was terribly overcooked to the point of being hard and chewy. The marinara sauce was watered down. The Alfredo sauce was very tasty. My husband said the bell peppers in his dish tasted like dirt. When I asked about the restrooms, the owner just said he's been there for 6 years and it's never been a problem so he didn't care. Needless to say we wont be returning.
