Opinions de Restaurant Godezia Moncalvo
I had a truly delightful lunch today at Ristorante Godezia, nestled in the splendid setting of Cascina Spinerola, nestled in the Monferrato hills. The location is truly charming: a relaxing view, a well-maintained structure, and a warm, tastefully furnished interior. The tables are well-spaced, creating an intimate and elegant atmosphere. I chose the "Black & White" tasting menu, consisting of five courses and a dessert of your choice. The starter was excellent, with bread, black truffle butter, and anchovies, followed by a hand-chopped Fassona leg enriched with a generous sprinkling of grated truffle. The Nizza Monferrato cardoons with Raschera DOP fondue and hazelnuts were also delicious, as were the tagliolini with 40 egg yolks, also with black truffle. To round out the meal, a fried egg creamed in butter and, for dessert, a balanced and delicious 75% dark chocolate and passion fruit cream. My girlfriend opted for three à la carte dishes: a well-executed veal with tuna sauce (delicious), flavorful roast beef plin, and a soft egg with Raschera DOP fondue and Monferrato white truffle, which was truly satisfying. Beyond the beauty of the location, the dishes fully met our expectations; in some cases, we felt there was still room for improvement, but the experience was excellent nonetheless. An important note: when booking, we had asked if it would be possible to try bagna càuda, even though it wasn't on the menu. Our request was granted, and it was served alongside a Fassona beef tartare seasoned simply with oil, salt, and pepper. A gesture we greatly appreciated. The service was a bit slow, but perfectly in keeping with the location: this isn't a place to come for a quick meal, but rather a restaurant where you can take your time, relax, and enjoy the pleasure of unhurriedly savoring local specialties.
The occasion was an anniversary. The location is stunning: simple, charming, with a breathtaking view. The service is professional yet friendly (special mention for Nicholas, a young, polite, and charming man). The dishes are traditional Piedmontese. The cured meats are amazing, with a simply perfect cooked salami. The plin, in their simplicity, were perfect, and the cheeses were a delight. In short, everything is absolutely recommended!
Beautiful restaurant located just below the village of Moncalvo. The location is very refined and elegant, with a spectacular view of the surrounding vineyards and hills. The menu is traditional Piedmontese, which I thoroughly enjoyed. You can also try dishes with white truffles when in season. The outdoor garden is also lovely, where you can enjoy a coffee or an amaro after lunch while enjoying the relaxing surrounding view.
This restaurant hits all the buttons. Excellent food, great service and a fantastic atmosphere. The menu suggestions were sublime and the wine selection should satisfy all tastes. From the muse buche to desert we were not disappointed. They even accept well behaved dogs. You definitely need to book in advance. We ate there on a Monday evening and it was full.
Great view, good food and very friendly staff! Will for sure come back here!
Great Italian food, great service, great atmosphere, that’s all you need.
Lovely restaurant with a relaxed cosy ambiance. Great service. Food is elegant and delicious. A perfect place to taste Piedmontese cuisine.
Excellent food & great service. The place is modern & trendy. Tasting menue is delicious & reasonably priced. My partner had the beef cheeks & said that they were cooked perfectly. The staff is very warm & friendly. Would surely reccomend this place.
It was an amazing experience. The view was stunning, the service always polite and courteous, and the food was completely out of this world. My wife had the porched egg with cheese and truffles and she loved it. The combination was outstandingly flavourful unlike anything before. I had the veal cheaks which were so softly cooked that they fell apart just by looking at it. It all comes for a price, though. But it is definitely worth every cent!
Very very good. Good wine and good food
Great menu with good options specially of antipasti. Egg with truffle, tartare and pasta were all well executed. Portions can not be considered big but we were happy with it. As final touch, I recommend the mascarpone ice cream with amarene and scotch whisky, a delightful surprise.
I had lunch at this restaurant, immersed in a truly enchanting atmosphere, with a splendid view of the hills that made the experience even more enjoyable. The service was truly excellent: the staff was kind, attentive, and helpful. As for the menu, the selection was quite varied, though not overwhelming. In my opinion, a few more dishes could have further enriched the offering, but there were still several interesting options to choose from. The portions were just right: neither too large nor too small, ideal for enjoying each dish without feeling overwhelmed.
UvaSpina has a fantastic kitchen, wine production and a beautiful setting. All of the details are there and the arrival is a “wow” moment. We sat in the garden with a beautiful view. The food is really good, the menu is also very varied and we struggled to choose! Everything was delicious. However, it started to get dark around 9pm and we noticed that the service (for all 6 tables in the garden) seemed to become very limited and we were left in the dark. We asked the waiter if we could move inside, and he was accommodating. However, the owner then came and asked why we had taken up two tables. We explained we felt forgotten outside and were sitting in the dark for a long while. She seemed unhappy and insisted she actually didn’t speak our language (despite earlier in the evening introducing herself, asking where we are from, explaining her favourite wine etc). We offered the pay double cover charge (which was added to our bill), and the owner quite obviously avoided us for the rest of the evening, without even attempting to engage - she honestly would have found we had so many good things to say!!! UvaSpina gives the impression that it offers the very best, which is true of the food and setting and less of the owner. In hospitality, feedback can be varied but should at least be listened to. Despite this, we honestly recommend the food, but felt the need to post this review as we were unable to communicate these feelings on the spot.
Really good food in a beatiful setting. The kitchen is timely and waiters are watchful and very kind. What bothered me have been prices: too expensive, even more if considering dishes with truffle. The fact that truffles are expensive doesn't mean that prices must be SO high. Also, portions are not abundant. I guess that these prices are inflated for tourists. I don't think i'll be back here, even if it's a good restaurant.
I travelled about 2000km over italy and never had such an experience After 10 year visiting this place again. Staff is nice and the view too Waiting about 30min between primo and secondo is inacceptable Selling afogato for 10€... And Italian beer 0.33 for 7€ Food was too less for 29€ and quality was not up to the standards it was 10 years ago neither was the portion size. The waiter well understood medium-rare and medium, but we got twice well-done steak. I did not want to complain at all, because I wanted to stay away from drama
We went to this restaurant on 31/10/21. The restaurant is pleasing on the eye, however, a restaurant is about how it makes you feel and I regret to say that we left with a bit of a sour taste in our mouth. We were under the impression that they were going to serve the Truffle 'degustazione' menu for dinner. When we did not see it on the menu, we asked the manageress about it. She told us that they served the truffle menu for lunch but said they could make a plan and serve us it for dinner. She seemed very nice initially. On the website the price was 60 euros for the truffle 'degustazione' (tasting) and we made it clear that we were selecting that option. Anyway, the night went on and we got some small truffle dishes. The same manageress came to take our drinks order and pushed us to get a much more expensive bottle of wine than the one we initially selected. Then came time for desert. The manageress came back and asked us for our choice of desert, from the way she asked, we became a bit suspicious that it was not included in the tasting menu like it said on website. She again pushed us to order the most expensive desert on the menu, ice cream with white truffle. Thanks to my suspicion I did not choose it. And boy were we in for a surprise! The bill was a ridiculous amount of money. They charged an extra 20 euros on every dish with truffle. We were tired and did not feel like arguing with them, but I decided to write this review because it's not about the money, it's about the feeling of being swindled. The manageress took total advantage of us and I recommend you to go elsewhere, where the people in service are more genuine and not out there to suck the money from you.
