I have always heard great things about this place. Last week we were staying in Bridgeport for Bodie and hiking trip. We had dinner there both nights and it was very good. Great ambiance and building was old stage stop originally. Our server, who is also manager was very nice man with beret. I don’t know how anyone could give this place a bad review. People need to take in mind they are operating a business in remote area and during winter road can lose due to inclement weather. We will definitely be return customers,

If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. Went out to dinner on a Monday holiday and had a really great time! The roasted garlic and Gorgonzola cheese appetizer was super tasty! Everyone in my party got ribeyes, Juli’s steak being the best one. Loved that they have spumoni ice cream as one of the options 🍦The service was excellent! Very kind and attentive people who obviously care about the place they run. The trout breeding project is awesome and we loved feeding the fish after dinner. Can’t wait to come back and try out the covered wagons for an overnight stay.

We’re currently sitting around the campfire at Virginia Creek Settlement, grilling s’mores under the stars, and soaking in one of those rare, precious family moments. This place is just a gem near Mono Lake — full of charm, history, and heart. We’re staying in one of the small huts, which is super cozy and exactly what we needed: simple, comfortable, and clearly cared for with love. You can really feel the owners’ passion for this place in all the little details. The staff has been wonderful — so friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. There’s a spirit of adventure here that’s perfect for families with kids: from exploring the surroundings to just enjoying time together outdoors. Virginia Creek Settlement is not just a stopover; it’s an experience. If you’re looking for a place with character, warmth, and the kind of atmosphere that makes memories, this is it. We’ll definitely be back.

We were on a late night drive and wanted dinner - we placed a phone order for a Ribeye and pulled up about an hour later. Right when we got there we loved the entire vibe of the hotel. They have some cabins, some motel rooms, some tent cabins, etc. We knew we had to spend the night there. We adventured all around the grounds and there were so many cute sitting spots with fire pits at the ready with propane overlooking the river! Very quaint and peaceful. Our cabin was so cozy and had our own fire pit outside that we used. Will definitely stay again!

Awesome place to have dinner with the family. Menu has many great selections from Steaks, Italian, Chicken, Pizza all at reasonable prices. The staff is awesome and makes an enjoyable dinner and time spent with family. The trout farm is really cool to see and they will give you a small bag a food for the kids to feed the trout which was a highlight after dinner.

An amazing little gem tucked into the mountainside. I especially loved the food at the restaurant. We had a party of nine and the only complaint was from my son who forgot to ask for no sauce on his Brinn's burger. The coffee was fresh and the HUGE blueberry pancakes and biscuits and gravy were gone in 30 seconds the next morning. My kids especially loved the activities on the grounds including a life sized Jenga game, Cornhole, the creek, the included s'mores treats by the many self-lighting fire pits, and feeding their trout. The perfect camping -without- having -to- camp experience. The restaurant ambiance was delightful, full of hilarious signs and old-timey photos. Very rustic. We will definitely be returning on our next visit.

Such a lovely stay here! I could tell the owners really love and care for their property - it showed in the small, thoughtful details. We stayed in the tent cabins, which were clean and comfortable, and had many warm blankets to keep us cozy on a cold October evening. Loved the s’more’s supplies and appreciated the detailed and clear instructions for navigating the property. The shared bathrooms were very clean and so was the common kitchen space. I would have given this spot 5 stars, but knocked one off due to the proximity to the very busy main road. The noise keep us up a lot of the night and as a result we woke up exhausted. I know there isn’t anything management can really do about the noise other than provide some ear plugs along with the s’mores. Otherwise, a perfect stay and would highly recommend.

Nice little family run establishment with interesting decor. We stopped off for lunch and had the pulled pork and grilled cheese which were both very nice. Also tried the apple dumping which was also very tasty and unique. Lovely staff and location

We staid the weekend at the Virginia Creek Settlement. They have rooms that are cabin style, rooms in old covered wagons, old bulding like the dentist or bank, they have a family suite that has 3 bedrooms and is the top floor above the restaurant and office. You check in at the hostess stand in the restaurant for your room, they provide you a goodie bag with a smores kit, fish food to feed the trout from their trout project, coffee kit and a map to your room, where to park, the wifi password, along with your code to enter your room. All the doors are pass code lock so you dont have to carry around a key or card. We had a cabin room and the family suite. Both were cute and rustic. They also provide gas powered fire pits around the cabins, community bathrooms for those mini cabins and camp sites. They have corn hole areas, picnic tables, and yard tetrus, and chess boars. They also have creek access for fishing, a fish gutting station and gas bbqs you can use during your stay. This little place was so cute, we loved our time here and cant wait to go here again in the future.

Probably good for an overnight stop, nothing more. The room we stayed had pretty good beds and the bathroom was fine as well but the ugly brown carpet looked filthy…I would not walk around barefoot. The food at the restaurant looked fine, however we had a bad experience with ordering food for a vegan diet. Ordered a breakfast burrito with Avocado as substitute for eggs. However, after one bite, we discovered there was eggs in it after all. The replacement burrito was dripping in oil and barely edible. We had also ordered vegetarian sandwiches to go and later discovered in our hike that the vegetarian sandwich included one small meatless (hopefully) patty and some mayonnaise, THAT’S IT for $15/sandwich - no lettuce, no tomatoes or any other veggies! In short, based on other reviews you’ll be fine if you order food straight from the menu but don’t trust the kitchen if you have special dietary requests. They care enough to take your order but not enough to make it good.

This is a cute and cozy little spot and the staff was very friendly. The room had the loudest cooler and the window in the bathroom was full of black mold. However, I feel obligated to warn others about the restaurant. I am stunned how the they have such good reviews. Perhaps it was an off night but the food was awful and insanely overpriced. I was hoping to have a nice birthday dinner for my daughter on a road trip. The $32 lasagna was basically all ricotta (Diet) and appeared regurgitated. The staff/owner advised against the frozen Ravioli. Thankfully, I inquired first. The $50 steak was something you would see (and taste) at Denny's, and the vegetables were clearly frozen. I said nothing simply because we had a good laugh about this and will never forget this birthday!

Unfortunately the poor hospitality and unwelcoming attitude made the stay quite unpleasant. I used to love staying here, but will most likely not return.

We were there recently, the place is nice, we had time to spend with the workers and we could see that they are people who put their heart into what they do and are very grateful to the owner, who seemed a little exaggerated to me by telling us not to take care of ourselves when in reality we weren't, that was just an observation. I love the place it has a running stream that makes your stay incredible. Personally we were going to visit some friends there and we loved it. What I did find quite unfortunate was my husband was crossing the street and a red GMC Sierra truck was being driven by a man and the woman angrily yelled at my husband to watch where he was walking when the reality was that the man who was driving should be careful because there were people walking around, my husband helped throw out the trash and when he tried to cross the street the truck almost hit him and he also received a shout of OPEN YOUR EYES MENNNNN!!! Later I could see that the van was parked there, as if it were someone from there, or maybe it was customers. I don't know, but I hope the owner sees this opinion and if he knows them, he should talk to that woman more and be nice to the guests and their visitors since they paid to be relaxed, not to feel uncomfortable. UPDATE... Thank you for reading my review and answering, I am sorry for what your wife was going through, and I am sorry if I understood that yelling as if it was for my husband, I apologize for the mistake. I just wanted to clarify something and that is what it says that we were having a party, it was not like that, we were a group that was just having dinner without yelling since we respect others. I just want to let you know this. You can check the camarad and you will know that we were only there to have dinner in the cabin, you were kind when you approached us, I do not doubt that or said that you were rude, I would have no reason to say something that is a lie, I only gave my opinion since I was going to visit and I clarify that we only went to visit to spend time with friends who had already told us that they had a very good time, very comfortable, in fact we were planning the new trip with more, the complaint was not about you it was my experience there. It really is a beautiful place, and I would definitely recommend staying there. I was just being honest about my experience, so I apologize and hope your wife gets better soon. Such a disappointment, I was really looking forward to stopping here for the first time. Unfortunately it will be a one and done for me, from the moment I walked in the door at 3:30pm (single dinner) I felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a guest. The host greated me and served me while two others sat around in front of me and had conversations amongst themselves. A male and female employee (not the host/server Augusto) were only interested in talking to each other and never greated me or checked in with me at any point. I went out of my way to say hi and ask them how they were only to get a curt I'm good and then walk away. I was the only customer but at no point did anyone try to make conversations with me or treat me like a guest in this establishment. When I was finished with my meal around 3:58 there was another person whom came in that they were familiar with and they jumped all over each other to ask him if he wanted coffee or a beer, he was not here to eat just socialize as the rest of the crew gathered around him in the dining room to talk to him while continuing to ignore me. Customer service really could use some pointers and guest satisfaction would have made this a much more enjoyable experience, but I was left feeling like a inconvenience and they couldn't wait for me to leave. I still tipped and smiled and left completely ignored. While the 4 of them sit in the dining room drinking coffee and chatting, no thank you for coming in or anything to counteract the experience. Side bar, the salad and ice cream were great. Lasagna was too much of a ragu to me a meat sauce for my taste and was too sweet, but I am sure others enjoy it.

The guy that runs this place is the most cold host I've ever met. Customer service is horrible. Tried making a reservation. 1rst time, after 3 hrs they never called back. I called again got put on hold. Then we got part way thru the reservation, got put on hold again. Gave up. Going to Andruss. Everytime I've stayed here the Customer service is so cold. Makes for a very uncomfortable experience. Done trying.
