Amazing food from a humble taqueria. This place is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it corner restaurant, but has all the best selections and flavors any good Mexican food lover could ever hope for. I asked the chef to make me chilaquiles the way he would want them most, and I was not disappointed (I even saw him really getting into his he was making it while cooking - pride in his work). I also got the huitlacoche tacos and a nopales sope, and washed it all down with horchata. The food is exquisite, and I have not found better food anywhere in the area. The staff are all fantastic, friendly, and know their menu. Seriously: try this place out!
Food is 10/10, customer service is 10/10, EVERYTHING IS 10/10! The food is delicious and authentic! The papa ranchera is a must try! Tacos are bomb! And the guy taking your order at the front is incredible! Give him a raise!!! I don’t know his name but I was there on November 25th at 4:38pm! Keep it up guys!
I went for the first time today. I had the chorizo and eggs breakfast. The chorizo is real and prepared before you and the portion is large. The plate came with rice and beans also. Pricing is very good and portions even better. They also have tacos for 99 cents. Every meat you want they have. The service was pleasant and facility clean. Oh and they ask have plantains cooked. I highly recommend
I am a fervent lover of King Taco but in Monrovia Taqueria El Diablo cannot be missed. The aguas frescas are insanely tasty, I don't even get why anyone would get a soda instead. Their generous $1 refill unlimited is Virtual Insanity. Guanabana. Pineapple. Watermelon...Horchata. Pepino..Mango... Fresa (strawberry). I could live only by drinking aguas frescas. About the menu. If you go there any day ask for the special of the day and GET IT!!!! do not even worry to try anything else... it will be and unforgetable experience. The chorizo potato egg bkfst Burrito It was shared with my Daughter for lunch.... it was so rich and the texture fresh... unbeatable and I ate it at home... at least 30 mins later. The tacos pastor o asada ... your taste buds will grow legs and drive you back for more and more. Now .........everyone knowns that every curita de pueblo ( town priest) has a little skeleton in the closet..... the chilaquiles were made with chips not real tortilla, sinful sin, even El Diablo would stop and say, Wait a minute... "smthing' aint right".... they were crispy and not really saucy... and crunchy.. tasty nevertheles but not the way our beloved Estela Garcia makes them at home..... so I would sell my soul to El Diablo if they can make real, I mean real chilaquiles.
Glad to have found this place! I got al pastor tacos and chips & nacho cheese. They gave a huge amount of meat in the taco!
Delicious 😋 and great service. Very clean and friendly establishment. I like their taco 🌮 Tuesday 99cent and Thursday burrito $6.99 specials.
Their aguas frescas are tasty! Great on the customer service and appreciated them being open on Christmas Eve.

Leila was an absolute legend at the front. She was friendly and made our first visit so special. Ask for her recommendations, you won’t be disappointed. Also the Aqua Freshcas were so delicious. First time at this restaurant and won't be the last. Thourougly enjoyed my birria tacos and agua fresca. Great food and service! Thank you Layla for being so welcoming and for your recommendations.
Was looking for a place to Bibiria and found this near by. So glad we found this place. The Quesabirria was soooo good. The consumé was just right. They have 98 cents Taco Tuesday with different kinds of meat. The fruit drink was pretty nice. Totally coming back for all sorts of dishes. Conveniently located in the historic downtown Monrovia.
Great food, came back for taco Tuesdays. Would advise to be patient as they get really busy that day. Tacos are great chicken and Cabeza are amazing. The kids love thier Chile oil even bought a jar of it. The have Aqua frescas the family lotes. Definalty recommend.
We came for 99 cent taco Tuesday and loved each of our tacos. They have a wide selection. The deal is an absolute steal. The food was hot and delicious. Definitely come here for Taco Tuesday!
Who could possibly leave this place a negative review?! We just went for lunch and this place is AMAZING. Food was delicious! Better than I expected and the portions are huge. I had a steak quesadilla which was superb. My husband had tacos and we had a side order of plantains. It was a ton of food but we enjoyed it all. The variety is also great. The person who took our order was super friendly and helpful. He refilled our horchata when it was low and was attentive. The space has lots of light and is a fun spot to enjoy a meal. So happy to have another amazing business in Monrovia 😊

Truly authentic Mexican food with an authentic sense of welcoming! The cabeza was to die for! It's my Wednesday staple..

I love this place.\n It's a hidden gem. Word to advise to the owner. If you're gonna sell a sandwich\n At a discount price\n Let it be the same. For the as well as the regular price i had a tort.\n On on sale and it was lacking beans, lettuce and tomatoes i would have preferred\n To pay the regular price, if the sandwich was gonna taste better. Because it had everything on it like a tort supposed to have. And make sure, the employees\n Pay attention to what they do behind the counter. We, as customers pay attention to those who play with our food. I don't want to write anymore because I'm hoping it was a one time incident. But I will definitely if I see it again.\n I really enjoy your food. And everyone should go there and try it as well worth it
Great prices. Taco Tuesday’s are the best in town. Staff is always friendly and very accommodating. Have had missing items a few times, but they always make up for it and make things right the following visit. Food taste could be better for certain items, but for the price, I really can’t complain. The Birria is definitely my favorite. I normally order a bulk amount on Taco Tuesday’s and it’s enough food to last me anywhere from 1-3 days depending on how hungry I am. Highly suggest calling in your order as peak times can get really busy with lines out the door and crowded dining room with many people ahead of you waiting for their orders. Overall, solid local spot.
This is our go to place for tacos and Mexican food -- and believe me in SoCal there is a lot of choice. The prices are very reasonable and quality of meat or chicken is good, which is important to us. It is a simple place if you are dining in and we often take it home. The food is fresh with lots of toppings and types of salsas you add yourself. The service is fast and the servers helpful -- if you aren't sure what something is or if you will like it, they will give you a taste. I have also had their nachos which are very yummy and generous. It is always our "Taco Tuesday" go-to.
This place has really stepped it up compared to when I visited last. It had been a long while. I finally decided to try it out again and it was the best decision! I had chicken and asada tacos and my husband had a flauta/tacito plate. Both were delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful and the salsas where on fire, in a good way! Mexican Coke being served there is a huge plus for me as well. I will definitely make an effort to eat at this establishment again. We were very happy!
I really appreciate the $0.99 taco Tuesday as well as their daily specials. The staff is great. The food is not top tier, but where else can you eat lunch for under $5 these days? 5 stars for value and easy parking.
These tacos are legit! Best Taco Tuesday I've ever enjoyed. The chorizo & potatoes were a solid choice. Super delicious. I would get this everytime if I'm in the area. My sister got the beef and potatoe, here favorite, she always orders this.
Good food at good prices. Nice little place with a large 4 flatscreen tv set up. Good salsas, nice employees. My fav Mexican food spot in the area. $1 tacos on Tuesdays too!

Taqueria El Diablo had Bern on my list for awhile to try. The Asada Torta was amazing. The meat was very flavorful and delicious as well as the asada tacos. The Birria, however, had a funny aftertaste that I wasn’t liking. The Pollo Asada tacos were okay too. Only deducting 1 star because the staff seemed bothered and annoyed that we were there ordering at 3PM. They definitely weren’t welcoming at all and seemed annoyed when we asked questions about the menu.
Came here for dinner and the food was good! I had tacos de cabeza which were melt in your mouth. The salsas were delicious as well. Service was good HOWEVER, the music is way too loud. I could barely hear the guy behind the counter and overall it just wasn’t pleasant to sit there and eat with music blasting in your ear. I don’t live in California but when I go back, I’ll make sure and stop by but get my food to go 😂

Taqueria El Diablo restaurant after it's Remodeling and menu revamp has improved tremendously. We visit it much more now than in the past, at least once a week. Their food is fresher & richer now. We like it very much. Their Taco Tuesday deals are unwatchable. You can no longer find any "restaurant" that can compete with their deal, for $0.99 cent Taco's today are un-heard of, but it's not just their Taco's, their whole Mexican food menu is delicious. The small old town ambiance surrounding it adds to the wonderful experience. We like it there very much and definitely recommend it. 👍

The food is not fresh. They dont make the flautas as you order them, they have them pre made and fried and when you place the order they re-fry them making them hard and dry. For the food prices I spect better quality. Be careful with what you order. I decided to speak up and the owner change my re-fried flautas for some fresh made to order flautas. What a huge difference. You can notice the difference. Although the food taste good I'll give 3 stars for the fact that they want to give you food that is no made to order.
It was mid in every way, the meat was under seasoned, food came out slow despite us being the only people there, and the service was not great.
Super nice people and the food options look great with nice presentation. I had the 3 fish taco special and watermelon drink. Lots of un-bussed tables and no clean place to sit. So I had to sit at a dirty table. Yuck I guess that means they are busy and I’m happy for them. But the floor was also dirty and hadn’t been cleaned for quite awhile.

Good food but taco Tuesday is a scam , get ready to get two cold small tortillas with loots of onion and one tiny peace of meat, Taco Tuesday not recommended….after reading some reviews looks like I am not the only one that got some onion no meat tacos 😬 sad part is when you let them know the answer is, what you want for the price you pay …..
Bought some food to go. It’s understandable they’re closing but 4 asada tacos with barely any meat, I basically paid $3 for 2 tortillas.
Wasn't going to complain but after receiving stale meat I had to, left a bad spoiled taste in my mouth, just want other people to be aware small taco's very dry. Sorry won't be returning.

asada fries are so overpriced had no toppings only beef and watered down nacho cheese and they nicely added a tiny bit of beans and sour cream but still $12 for undercooked fries with low quality beef would not recommend
The place had a chill vibe, but the service wasn’t great I never got greeted, which didn’t bother me personally, but I know it would for others. The food felt overpriced for what it was, and honestly, Disney offers better Mexican food. Would I go back? No, I wouldn’t.
They used to have pupusas. Not anymore. Prices went up, and the flavor went down. Aguas frescas are still delicious, but they charge for refills. Before, they had free refills. One thing that I really didn't like is that the cashier was peeling raw shrimp and dispatching without taking her gloves full of raw shrimp. Very unhealthy.
Restaurant is nice, server was nice. Food, not so much. I tried the asada and chicken for my tacos. I have no idea what meat they used, or how they cooked it. But it was kinda gross. The asada was not grilled steak. It was soft and kinda mushy. It almost looked like boiled pot roast. And the chicken was dark meat, but it wasn't cooked on a flat top, or grilled. It was literally boiled dark meat. What's sad is, the chips and salsa was the best part. I've been out of state for the past 5 years. Cali Mexican food I miss so friggin much. This was the first Mexican place I've been to since I've been back. 1000% disappointed. I'll try 1 other place before I leave again.
Customer service was horrible, the atmosphere was extremely unwelcoming and all the workers seemed to have a nasty attitude. I got the food to go, and once I was home….i got through maybe a quarter of the nachos before I started vomiting. I don’t know if it was bad meat or something else, but I couldn’t keep it down at all. It was my first & last time ever coming to this place.
We went today for lunch and we ordered nachos with alpastor meat and 2 fish 🌮 tacos, the food was really bad ! The fish meat was really old I cute it with my fingers and showed to them was dry and the meat kind of yellowish color i asked for a refund, but instead I got 3 carne asada tacos that I asked to be fresh and they grilled infront of me and gave me one extra, the nachos as well were awful the chips were old and kind of rancid. The chef came with 2 new fresh fish tacos for the inconvenience and apologized, we couldn't finish our meal and we left ,definitely I'll not recommend this place we payed $35 .the workers were polite, respectful and very understandable.
