Tl;dr version: ignore the bad reviews, it’s wonderful! After reading some of the recent reviews, we were a little worried about our decision to make reservations for the 5 Course Price Fixe dinner here. Especially since it was 30 minutes from where we were staying at Colter Bay, so it was an hour round trip after a long day. HOWEVER - our concerns were completely unfounded! I have no idea what they experienced, but we’ve eaten in Michelin 1 & 2-Star restaurants in Europe, and this was wonderful food. The ambiance was amazing, and we really wish we’d know about the Lodge when making reservations for our Yellowstone/Tetons vacation. It’s expensive, but we definitely plan on coming to stay in the future. BTW - make reservations far in advance if possible. Dinner is included when you stay here, so there aren’t many extra tables, and we snagged the only open table for the next 2 weeks, and it was at 8pm. Every course was quite good, and I’m comfortable saying that this was by far our best meal all week. The photos should quite reassure anyone who’s thinking of coming to eat. My 2 favorite dishes were the chilled lobster (tasted like it was straight from Maine!), and the prime rib was cooked perfectly for medium rare. Terrific service as well.
This is insanely good. The mountains just outside the windows, the Dinning Room at Jenny Lake held spectacular menus each night of our stay. We were really impressed by the staff who were always willing to work with us, and provided top notch service. The food was incredible, and each night provided a great assortment of tastes. The rotating menu is great. We also got to see a bear from the window! I’m super excited to come back and try new foods here. Awesome experience!
This restaurant is well worth it. They use local ingredients when possible, the service is great, and everything is delicious. The pastries in particular were outstanding, and the entire experience is just well tailored to the tetons.
Very nice dining in the middle of no where. Very good service and fine food. They serve Jackson Hole soda. Highly recommend!
Atmosphere was relaxing and food delicious (definitely our breakfast place for every morning in the park). Stuff was skilled and super nice. Love small details they have❤️.
Perfect
Decent dining room, good food. We tried bison burgers, 🍔
Excellent soups and a great way for us to break from camp food. Also, the service was particularly attentive and professional.
Lovely spot with excellent food. Great view of the Tetons in the evening.
Excellent. Exactly what you would expect at an up scale rustic restaurant
Truly EXCELLENT high end 5 course gourmet dining!
What a delightful experience, simplistic yet elegant!!
Great food and great service!
splendid.
Exquisite service.
Exceptional!
Truly a destination in Teton National Park! You must have reservations to assure seating, but completely worth every effort to see and dine at this special historic restaurant! The decor and views are spectacular and the food and service are world class.
Not sure why a few poor reviews unless they recently got a new chef. Our food was great 2 nights in a row. Loved our waiter Brady as well and the hostess Abby was really great. Cool mellow vibe in the room. All courses both nights were interesting and delicious. Make reservations.
We had an amazing experience! It definitely exceeded expectations. We had a large group including a couple of small children. The service for the whole group was great and very attentive. We were there after getting married in that park and everyone was very happy to help us out. All of the food was delicious. Everyone loved each dish. They were very accommodating to the little ones in our group (4yo and 1yo). Just overall great and a highlight of our day.
Went here for dinner and each meal was $120 per person (set price not including drinks) and it was so worth it. It is a 5 course meal. Each course has a few options to choose from. The chef has a rotating menu that focuses on locally sourced items and each thing we tried was delicious! Make sure to get a reservation!
This was the best meal we had in all of Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons!! We had dinner here and it was a prix fixe menu with a few different options for appetizers, a couple different soup and salad options, and about four different entree and dessert options each. I am not exaggerating when I say every single thing we ate was delicious. Unfortunately I had devoured everything before I remembered to take pictures. Do not think twice on the chocolate chip cookies. They are to die for!!
My son was married this week and there were 12 people for dinner after the wedding. It was a perfect evening! We were set at 2 tables and our servers could not have been more attentive. The food and choices were wonderful, with many little extras, to make the dinner perfect for their special day!! Thank you
There aren't a lot of fine dining restaurants that you'll encounter this, but Jenny lake dining room has the best service I've encountered at any place I've eaten (almost a hyperbolic statement but incredibly, it's true!). The food is definitely worth the price but the hospitality from the servers and from others is something else. I'd encourage anyone on the fence to try eating here. The service even provided me a drink that the bartender was unaware of, they simply googled the recipe and made it exactly as I wanted. Just make sure to request window seats for a grand view of the Tetons! You'll be pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, the people and the food. Definitely worth the money.
The $30/pp breakfast was amazing. While it can sound expensive, if you're hungry and in the mood to spoil yourself, do yourself a favor and indulge. Start off by ordering an appetizer and main dish. Still hungry? Order more. You're essentially free to order as much off the menu as you can eat. The service and the food was all top notch.
This place is very expensive but the quality of the food makes it worth it. I went for lunch and the atmosphere was pretty casual which suits the area perfectly. However, I heard that there was an unnecessary dress code for dinner; this prevented me from coming back because I packed apparel for hiking/exploring in national parks. The bourbon vanilla ice cream was fantastic much like the quality of service I received here.
We had the pleasure of dining here for breakfast on a recent family vacation. The food was excellent and the staff was accommodating for our family of 8
Located near Jenny Lake, it offers spectacular view of the Mountains, and the staff is very accommodated and professional! The food was great, definitely recommend!
Completely full on the 2 nights we checked.
Bon repas la truite était bonne et bien cuite. Malheureusement, je trouve le restaurant un peu cher pour les prestations et le temps d’attente.
Amazing food. Average service. No view.
Neglected to take pictures. You automatically have a 5-course pre fixed meal and can’t only get only 2 for example. Lots of food. The food was okay with some pairings that are a bit unusual. The Jenny signature salad was surprisingly good. The servers were particularly skilled and the restaurant is nestled in a spectacularly beautiful area. Cost is $140 per person for meal + beverages
Beautiful setting and charming building. Food was good and service too. Some nice eclectic and also local choices. Easy parking.
Lovely setting; poor service. Waiters argued publicly over who would serve us, then did a lousy job ( we had to ask for bread and coffee..).food disappointing.
It's way too expensive with a fancy dress code requirement to boot (I'm guessing so it "keeps out the riffraff" as they say). The menu doesn't even have prices listed. So, I always deduct a star for snootiness. We turned away the moment we noticed no prices and the dress code, so down another star.
We visited at the very end of season and were disappointed with the food. The steak tacos were not good and overdone. The cream of mushroom soup had a really strange burnt taste. The salad and kids chicken tenders were good. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Atmosphere and service were incredible but the food itself ranged from awful to mediocre. I will give credit to friendly staff and nice live music. The amuse bouche was bizarre- flavorless “cowboy caviar” served in a Japanese soup spoon. Bread was somewhat stale but overall good. The herb butter was the best part of the meal. This was followed by an appetizer of tempura cauliflower with honey and the saddest looking micro-greens I’ve ever seen. No sauce, just honey. We also had the venison which was really only fine. The soup course was also a disappointment- a spinach soup contained approximately 2 leaves, and a vegetable soup which would have been better if it came from a can. None of the vegetables were cooked. They were crunchy and generally awful. The salads came out with wilted lettuce far past its prime. Only one of the two options had a dressing with any discernible flavor. Then came the mains. The fish was one of the worst things I’ve ever been served and by far the worst at this price point. It was as if it was coated in sawdust and then baked for 2 hours. It was dry, flavorless, and an absolute insult to the poor fish that gave its life to end up on my plate. We also had the steak which was cooked well but lacked flavor and came with under-cooked carrots and a potato which was inexplicably simultaneously raw and burnt. Dessert was underwhelming. The cookies were the most edible part of the meal. I am generally more lenient when a restaurant is so remote, but considering we ate much better food deeper into the park, not even the location is an excuse.
Extremely over priced. The food was abysmal. The service was excellent and it is unfortunate to the wait staff, they need to present such an upscale front on such a dismal experience and culinary presentation. This "new chef" needs to be replaced, and it pains me to say that as I know it sounds cruel. But, paying over 200pp - this missed every mark on the food front. From the terrible amuse bouche to the flavorless entrée to the painful dessert composition - it truly was a disappointment. Highly not recommended.
Not sure what we were expecting but it was a real disappointment. The atmosphere was ok. . .the food was mediocre and limited selection. Our waiter could have cared less about waiting on us and had a horrible attitude. . .I had notified them that we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. .hoping they would do something special (i.e dessert). . NOTHING!! We weren’t even asked if we wanted dessert. . Just not worth the drive. . Also was told to dress business casual. . Collar shirt. . .99% of the people in there looked like they had just taken a trial hike. . . I would not go back and wouldn’t recommend anyone else. . . .
The servers assistant are treated like slaves here. They do most of the work and get hardly any of the automatic gratuity.
Exceptionally slow service!
Closed for the season. Update your opening hours.
Horrible meal and service
The service was good but the really overpriced food was absolutely awful. It’s 160 per person and my whole meal was overcooked and burned. So so bad. I will say the desert was good, and I think our server realized our food was nasty so they comped our wine. The atmosphere is great, but sit outside with a glass of wine instead!!
My wife and I both ate here frequently in the late seventies and eighties when we lived in the Buffalo Valley north of Jackson. The lodge was full of local indigenous wildlife displays and now it's become absolutely bare and sterile looking. To many east and west coasters objecting to a wildlife display while consuming their steak.
Have had many meals here thru the years.. our dinner was disappointing starting with the appetizers and continuing thru all courses… tasteless and very poor presentation. The service continues to be top notch.
It was the worst 5 course dinner meal we’ve ever had! The appetizer we order was not even a bite size, and the braised wagyu beef was not better than roast beef you get at some fast food restaurants!! I would never go back to that place!! They charged over $120 for dinner, which I thought wasn’t worth $50 at the best!! Service was horrible! Nick, our bread guy, was the best part of the meal! He was the only attentive person in the entire restaurant!!
This can't be considered fine dining by any stretch, and frankly, it's insulting to establishments that truly offer that experience. The food was terrible—not just in taste, but also in preparation and presentation. They should charge a third of the price and stop pretending to be an upscale restaurant.
Would have left zero stars if I could. The idea that this place could possibly be a 4 diamond AAA restuarant is absurd based on the service, or lack there of, we recieved. We called the reservation number listed on the website to book a reservation. Was told no problem we are all set for 9:15 AM this morning. We make the 1:30 drive (to the lodge hungry and ready for a good breakfast). When we arrived we were told sorry we cant seat you by Greg the assistant manager. I asked why and his answer was the tables are reserved for guests only. When I showed him on my phone the number I had called to make the reservation he acknowledged that it was indeed the right number I called but insisted there was nothing could do for us. Mind you I have 5 hungry children with me! We tried pleading him for several minutes and he would not do anything for us. The whole time (at least 20 mins) we were there there were no more then 3 parties in a restaurant that looks like it could hold 20 to 25 parties. Did I mention there were 8 adults as well and the bill would have been several hundred dollars and a very nice tip for the server? But no Greg wasn't having it apparently so he sent 5 kids, who hadn't had breakfast and who had been up for almost 2 hours already, out the door. By the way there is no place to eat within 30 mins of here. This ordeal completely through off our whole day in Grand Tetons. Our kids went hungry until we finally found somewhere else to eat and by then we had lost so much time we had to eliminate several of the stops we were hoping to make. My hope is that AAA reads this and seriously reconsiders their designation and that others are not treated as horribly as we are.
They are out of their MINDS charging that much for this food. I’d be disappointed spending 1/3 of this for this meal.
