Opinions de China Palace Morgan Hill
This is by far one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. The food: superb, customer service: excellent, ambiance: peaceful and they have daily specials, even on the weekends. I highly recommend this place!
Best Chinese food in town, had a wonderful experience with my friends. Super friendly, great service and the food was amazing. Definitely come down and try it out! Another trip here, and another satisfying experience. Even with memorial day weekend traffic and crowds, we sat right away and had food within 15 mins. So good 🙏 will be back yet again.
China Palace is by far the best tasting chinese food in Morgan Hill. Its been long standing restaurant for decades and run by the nicest couple that are such hard workers. The menu is extensive with so many great options to choose from. They have a full bar and great wines. The do a lot of take-out business as well so call in early because they are popular and can get backed up with orders - but well worth the wait!
Got the lunch combo, wife got egg flower soup. Wife devour the soup, she loved it. I got orange chicken and fried rice combo. The orange chicken is very meaty, not sweet and very savory with strong citrus flavor. The rice is steamed, texture was very soft. The chow main wasn't greasy and the veggie egg roll wasn't oily. Really great Chinese food, this place needs more business! 5/5
Food here is sooo good! Very authentic Chinese dishes
Great food and nice staff usually pretty busy so plan for a little more time than you would think. All the dishes are out together we'll and despite the spelling the broccoli Beff is one of my favorites. Great place for family or date night worth a try if you can't decide.

The food here is so good. It is cooked fresh to order. Perfectly seasoned. You don't need to add anything. If I could cook like this I wouldn't eat anywhere else.
Had not been here in a few years, but yesterday it was awesome, the food was excellent, the service was excellent and super affordable. Wife and kids loved it as well. From now on This is our favorite chinese place, even if we have to drive from Gilroy.
Beautiful place with such delicious food! A very nice selection. Not greasy at all. Will go there again. Highly recommend.
We have been coming here since they opened. Lilly and her family makes the best Chinese food in nothern California and She is a personal close friend of ours. I even wanted to have our wedding rehearsal dinner here 😔. No matter what you order it will be delicious and satisfying. But if you want a suggestion, potstickers, General Tso chicken, honey walnut chicken, and hot and sour soup. We live in Sonoma and every time we visit my parents in Gilroy we have to come to here on our way back.
Great food that was well prepared with generous portions. We especially liked the Salt and Pepper Calamari, Tea Smoked Duck, and Malaysian Pork with Eggplants (everybody's favorite).
Solid Chinese restaurant. Owners were wonderful and kind and the food was delicious. Just moved in the area and I have found my go-to Chinese food craving. Thank you!
The server was very accommodating and prompt. The food was delicious. My wife and I split a dinner combo and we were completely stuffed.
Really good Chinese! We prefer this take out the most in Morgan Hill. Hot & Sour soup is fantastic! You won’t regret ordering from this place.
Love this restaurant!!! Prices are very reasonable lunch specials are from 7-8$ they serve enough food for two people to eat with one plate! Dinner specials are from 9-10$
Delicious food and plenty of it. Dishes seem to come from the kitchen quickly so if you are a slow eater or not in a hurry tell them not to bring dishes out quickly
dined in at this chinese restaurant on Saturday, good experience, warm welcome by a waitress and got a booth right away, nice decor with light music. ordered : 1. house fried rice 1000% better than panda express 2. walnut honey shrimp pretty big shrimp coated in a nice sauce , yum yum I'm happy! 3. egg roll with good portion of stuffing inside, and delicious 4. Taiwan style fried rice noodle big portion and taste very good 5. salt pepper fried fish, omg taste really good! will come back.
Food is great! My favorite is general chicken. ,beef and bok choy which is a special order that they have always made for us with no problem. Their soda needed more syrup though this time. Other than that service is good and food is great.
This was more than a five star experience. Came from Los Angeles and felt right at home when I walked in! Very friendly staff with great service and amazing food. I would recommend this to anyone. Looking forward to going back!
Always great food. Nice family that runs the place. Spacious, beautiful atmosphere. Good sized take out portions. They were great with my service dog joining me.
The waitress is always so sweet to us. Remembers what we like and has the friendliest smile no matter how busy she is running from table to table. We love the salt and pepper fish and the Schezwan wontons. Actually, I've never been disappointed with the meals we've eaten here over the past 12 years.
Best Chinese food in town! I always enjoy dining with this restaurant either in the restaurant or takeout. They have a large menu and the food is always well prepared. They are also one of the few restaurants in the area that will deliver to my house and they are always prompt with deliveries.
Our go to for Chinese Food in Morgan Hill. Generous portions and great food. Owners and staff are very attentive. We always leave satisfied with full tummy's and enough left overs for the next day.
The customer service was amazing! We were greeted with a smile and genuine kindness! You can tell customer service is one of their priorities! Can't wait to visit this place again with my family!
My son and I could not be happier to find this place! Food tastes great, but more importantly is the customer service and welcoming environment. I highly recommend the sizzling rice soup, garlic chow mein, and wine to go with!!
We had a delicious lunch not to expensive. We had Broccoli Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Chinese Chicken Salad & Honey Walnut Shrimp. All meals came with an egg roll rice & chowmein. The portion are big very good.
Food is great here, mostly served family-style, and you will never leave hungry. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Service is friendly and helpful. Easily the best Chinese place in town.
Food was very good, Service was excellent! Lily is the best waitress I met in a long time. I'm recommending this restaurant 100%
1st time at China Palace and truly enjoyed my tasty meal! Staff was friendly and helpful. I had a Combination plate with sweet and sour chicken and Kung Pao beef. Fried rice was very good and flavorful!
We have been visiting this restaurant in Gilroy (no longer open) and Morgan Hill for years. We love it. They have the best hot and sour soup around. 😍 The mu shu chicken and Mongolian beef are great. My son gets a curry dish which is very tasty.
I'm pleasantly surprised! We unexpectedly found this hidden gem that serves authentic Chinese food. The essential flavor of wok-hay really carries thru their menu: the delicious pineapple fry rice, salt & pepper fish, and black pepper beef rib. Everything is freshly fried from the fryer! The honey walnut prawns, sweet and sour pork are crispy and moist on the inside. You could really tell each dish is made fresh to order! The quality of ingredients really shines thru. The shrimps they serve are GIGANTIC, almost to the size of a small lobster. This place is not just good for takeout, but it has a great ambiance to dine in as well! The soothing classical music, the comfy leather seats, an open bar table for big parties. This place has its own parking lot, which is a BIG plus for me! Moreover, I love that the servers are attentive and quick! I will definitely come back soon!
This is the best Chinese food I have ever had. Taste was great and a lot of it. I highly recommend it.
Food and atmosphere still great. Glad they kept the previous owners (chef) on board. They are a little pricey but the food quality and serving size never disappoints.
When we got to the restaurant we were seated right away. Our server was really nice and took our order right away. Food was great. It had lots of flavor, will definitely be coming back.
We were there early, so not very busy. Service was great and hostess very nice. Friendly staff always makes the meal more enjoyable. The portions were perfect in the lunch special and got a little of everything. The soup was rather good as well. China Palace was recommended by my mom, and I am glad I listened to her. It was a relaxing meal that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Recently dined at this place when I visited my parents with family in morgan hill. From the moment we walked in, the welcoming atmosphere and service set the tone for a fantastic meal. Each dish was a burst of flavor, the chef's prawns was presented nicely in a "hot pot" dish, very tasty lightly fried big shrimp in special sauce with just the right balance of sweet and spicy! we are big fan of shrimp so we ordered the walnut shrimp too, crispy on the outside in white sauce and meaty on the inside, yumyum. The House fried rice is big portion it's different from other regular fried rice out there. The eggplant in brown sauce is very flavorful. The restaurant had a cozy yet elegant ambiance, relaxing. Delightful experience, worth a visit.

Had a hard time deciding on this. Food is tasty and service was good. The portions and pricing don’t match up. I almost gave it a 3 star. The food can be less expensive for the amount of food you get. I like the selections on the menu but overall it could be better. Not much else to compare to in the area for something similar.
Chinese fare in a nice setting. Fast service but can get slow when crowded. Prices are excellent (under $10 as of 03-2018) for lunch with lunch specials. Large amount of food. Lunches come with soup, friend veggie roll, chow mien and the choice of meat. Also have regular Asian dishes. A great place for lunch on a budget.
Great veggie fried rice. Veggie egg foo young very tasty although dark gravy overwhelms flavor of main dish so ask for less. Spicy garlic green beans flavor ok--should be less floppy more firm. Try egg drop soup to start--delicious. Will return soon.

The food was brought out as it finished cooking allowing is to finish.one course before the next came. The wait staff seemed a little frazzled and only one of them seemed to speak English fluently. The food was great and we will be eating here again.
The food was amazing, especially the Soup of the Day. The only problem was that they were short-staffed, so we had to wait a bit to have our order taken and served for us.
This is a good, solid choice for take out. Very pleasant staff, decent sized portions, good food.
It's a high class presence, but ironically the prices were insanely reasonable. I had a glass of Gewurztramiener for $7.00, and a huge bowl of the Deluxe Seafood Soup, for $8.95. When you first viewed the exquisiteness of the menus, you thought this is going to be out of my league. It's going to be $30 and $40 and on up dinners. Not so . . . totally deceiving. I had a very generous amount of wine. And everything piping hot - a great treat in these cold winter days of February. My only disappointment in keeping this from a 5 star rating was the restrooms. They weren't kept up. But this won't keep me from coming back. The service was prompt, along with the warm personality of the waitress. Mucho kudos for the 'China Palace Restaurant', located near Main & Monterey, in the quaint Morgen Hill area.
I love the food here! Everything tastes so great. The woman in charge could use a lesson in manners, though. The wait is longer than average, and the workers' attitudes are horrendous. Good thing the food is so yummy.
I'm surprised at how many people were disappointed with the service. I've always had good luck with the food and service, but maybe it was because I was there when it wasn't busy. The peking duck, sizzling rice soup, sauteed green beans, and pad thai are all good! The servers were all very friendly and prompt.
Kind servers (probably owner), tastey food. Menu not as clear as we would have liked. Read carefully. Unexpected extra charge for a particular choice on Dinner Combination.
Very good food, slight Malaysian influence Totally love the Mango Chicken and their vegetable fried rice is addictive. Excellent Chow Fun and you can't get that at every Chinese food restaurant.
Good food, great price, with friendly service, what more could you want? Nice and quiet atmosphere, the decorations are great, it's not just some other generic restaurant. Go and enjoy!
So a few months ago we went here as a family style dinner and were disappointed by the service. But today as for fathers day it was awesome quick service. The food was excellent as always.
This is really good Chinese food in Morgan Hill, Ca. I would have given it 5 stars straight across but the service was a little slow. I understand why though as the couple who run the place are doing it all by themselves. If you can be patient the wait is worth it when the food arrives. The couple work very hard and are doing the best they can. Anyway, if you want really good Chinese food, give this place a try. The food won't disappoint.
Hadn't been in a number of years as we had had very poor service with the previous owners. But hubby was dying for something special for his birthday. Soooo-Had the Wor Won Ton with Noodle Soup. It was so good and filling and perfect for a cold night. Always love the ambiance in this establishment; very upscale feeling. Service could use a little development but was more than adequate. Will definitely be returning.
It’s bigger than it looks from the outside! They can easily handle large parties. The staff was very nice. At the time my family member and I went, we were the only ones in there for a while, but then a couple came in. I guess we beat the rush. We were there in the early evening hours on July 19, 2024. Saw a lot of people coming for takeout, so they seem pretty popular👍🏻

China Palace closed and this new Mexican place opened in its spot but kept the full Chinese menu, added sushi, and has a whole new Mexican menu. This place doesn't seem to know what it is. I wish the new owners luck but you can't try to be a Chinese, Mexican, and Sushi restaurant while being exceptional at any one of them. There's just no way they can prepare every dish on the menu(s) while always having fresh ingredients on-hand, so this gives me great pause about coming back. The server was very friendly and kind, but she had no clue about the menu (even the new Mexican one). She couldn't tell me if their Fajitas came with tortillas. Um... what? They also haven't changed the decor much, if at all. The food presentation was good, but taste and quality was definitely sub-par. I wanted to like this place but was disappointed. We'll give them another shot in a few months to see if they get the kinks ironed out.

Food is really good, service really needs some work. Hope this place turns around
We ordered to go and it took 1.5 hours for the food to be ready. The original estimate was 45 minutes. As mentioned in the previous reviews, the service is extremely slow. Decore is nice and looks slightly updated. The food is more American Chinese cuisine than authentic Chinese. This means the some of the ingredients and flavor have been substituded for instance bean sprouts for carrots and broccoli. Overall the food is medicore but in the Morgan Hill/Gilroy it's not bad. If you want more authentic Chinese food head to Pearl River.
Food is average, decor is very nice, service is poor. Considering all this, the price is a little high. However, it is the only Chinese restaurant in Morgan Hill (or Gilroy) that doesn't look like the health department skipped the last several inspections.
While this place had been a child hood staple because of the lunch specials and dinner specials it does suck to see the quality in food go down tbh the sweet and sour pork tasted old and wasn't really covered in sauce and the chiwmein tasted bad.
Food was very good. Good luck with the service. They never brought me my coke. Entrees are ala carte, don't ask if it comes with rice she got mad. They never come back to check on us. So go eat it's very good food just don't ask for much. I'll go back.
Food is bland. I'm used to tasty Chinese food. They do serve a big plate...lots of food. They just need to add more spices to their dish.
I am giving China Palace a 3 star. We ordered a lot of food to take to go. The food was good but the service and staff were not. When we arrived to pickup the order no one greeted us or looked at us for over 5 minutes. Staff was arguing between each other. I had to ask them for our order and it had been ready to go. I am willing to try this place again in the future in hopes that it will be better.
Going to have to agree with the complaints about the service. Both in dine-in and takeout it is lackluster. Orders are often confused even after explaining multiple times and there is no effort made to make the customer feel particularly welcome or appreciated for their business. It really is a shame too - the food here is quite good (if a bit on the pricey side - but still reasonable), and we have never had a dish there that we did not like. However - the service is bad enough that now we just go to House of Siam when we have a taste for food from this part of the world.
It's a nice place, clean, quiet. But the service is so slow. Prices are a bit high for the serving sizes. Food is ok but they got my order wrong, again. Best to call in orders and pick up to go.
Our family wanted to try this place out so we came in on a weekday evening. The place was basically empty besides two other tables. The server was super friendly and positive. That’s probably the best part about our experience. The food was decent and in large portions. The decor and ambiance were really nice. I probably won’t be going back but it was nice trying it.

I used to love this place but the last several times I have been disappointed. I figured I'd keep giving them a try because maybe it was just a bad day but after so many times now I don't think I'll be going back. I asked for my chowmein to be extra saucy and it was so dry.
Food is decent. Taste isnt terrible but has lots of room for improvement. Noodles taste ok, fried rice isnt very good. Overall isnt the best. Probably wouldn't come back.
Not sure how this place scores fairly high here. Service is extremely poor, food prep takes a long time, but certainly not for freshness. Overall unprofessional. Thanks but no thanks. Take out may be the way to go here, as they seem to have a following. Will be checking out other places instead. Not worth it.
The food is not as good as the traditional Chinese food. Average in taste. The restaurant seem to be under staff but the waitress there are helpful and work fast to attend to the customers.
Their service is probably the worst ever!! The owner is a disgrace! No customer service skills what so ever! She is just plain rude!! My mother and I went to pick up dinner and my mother went to the counter and asked how much longer because we called in our order an hour ago! She went off on my poor mom! Yelling at the top of her lungs stating that "this is not frozen food or fast food"!! Really.....I was completely shocked! I should have left the food there but we had hungry kids at home waiting to eat! I will NEVER GO BACK!! If you can get passed the nasty attitude, your good. Food is great! But personally a waste to be treated so poorly!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡
I hate leaving bad reviews but this is for the service. Staff was rude and cold. I work in the food industry so I know how busy it can get but there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. My husband asked if they could bring out the food since we paid online and he has two small children under 3, they said no. Apparently they don’t do that, which I understand if it’s busy but it wasn’t. Customer service needs to be worked on. Also I placed my order at 6:17pm and it is now 7:30 and it is still not ready. I don’t know if they just have a lot of orders in the back or what.
The service at this restaurant is horrible. We have tried it 3 times now as we like the food...but unless you have a few hours to waste sitting at a restaurant....this is not the place for you. OUr last visit we waited 20 minutes to get water...45 minutes for our soup and another 20 minutes for our meal. Each of our experiences have been similar. It is too bad that the service is so aweful as the food is pretty good. We will not be going back there. Three strikes and they are out!
This is our second time getting takeout. First time the wait was 20-30 minutes longer than what was initially stated. This time the wait was an hour and 40 minutes past their initial time frame. Granted there were 5-6 tables (and 2 or 3 unbussed) + a similar amount of to-go orders, the gripe is that the estimate is so far off. The food is fine enough but the excessive wait means we'll no longer patronize this restaurant as there are similar options with significantly better service in town. I acknowledge it seems there are only 2 people working (there was a bus boy later on while waiting).
I wanted some Chinese food so I called to make an order. First off the chick that answered the phone was rude. When waiting for the food she received a call and was walking around the entire restaurant and finally acknowledged me. Second, there was another customer there that seemed annoyed as well from the customer service received from the front reception area. She spoke out loud and said "is this the menu" not sure how long she was waiting to be attended. I would not come be coming back to this place again. The food was okay I've had better Chinese food. I miss the Flying Dragon that was the best Chinese food that was in Morgan Hill.
The service here has always been bad. Slow and lots of times, they just plain forgot to bring you silverware, drinks, or menus. But the food has always been excellent. In the past, it was reasonably priced, but this time, it cost $100 for two beers and two combo meals. About $40 more than the last time.

We thought the food was terrible. The beef and chicken dishes were both breaded and it came with a watery sauce. Other Chinese restaurants don’t bread everything the same.
On our arrival....4 tables occupied and most empty tables had dirty dishes. Seated at 615pm. Plates and teapot badly chipped. Waited until 705pm....no food. Walked out.
Sweat & sour pork uneatable this evening(frozen/old/hard) and take out order was wrong. Very disappointed after spending $65 for two combo plates.
Rudest people I have ever dealt with. Tried to book a table for 4 people the lady on the phone said they would not take a booking unless it was 6 people not 4. As I started to ask how busy they were, the lady was extremely rude and hung up on me. Clearly this business doesnt value customer service nor does it seem they want customers at there restaurant.
Wish I could give a 0 but I can't.. my food was cold even found a hair in my food. And the whole restaurant had left over plates on every table.. Please don't go you are better off going to panda.
We Oder hot and sour soup no flavor and very cold the Mongolian beef was terrible all onions the beef taste like leather. The sweet and sour chicken was no flavor at all The fried rice bland it was white with peas only we down 95 it was worth 3 dollars would not go to this place stay away spend your money someplace else
We tried this restaurant 3 times my wife wanted it to be good she loves GOOD Chinese food she had the duck twice the second portion was from a kids 3 piece chicken nugget order. And no matter how impossible it seemed the service was worse each time. The first time you humor yourself by saying they must be short staffed today or overwhelmed for some acute reason but when you go back you realize your service or lack of is by design. I could go on and on but bottom line is you will feal like we did and that is your just there to give them your money no matter how they treat you or what thier food is like you'll have a better experience if you flush 50 dollars and heat up last week's ham sandwich.
I ordered food for delivery and waited over an hour and a half for it. I called a couple times to check on the order and each time was told they were "too busy" and "food is on the way". I told them it was poor customer service but was told that is just the way it is. When I called to cancel the order, I was told I should have used the "Door Dash" app. When I finally got the food, the order was wrong. If I could give them lower than 1 star, I would.
Not the best customer service. I had a small situation occur. Explained to the person behind the counter I didn't want shrimp. Being my 2nd visit ,placed the order and well it had shrimp. He argued with me that,"that was what I ordered". I explained that I told him no shrimp and that it was my second time. I apologized if I placed the order incorrectly. I figured it would be an easy fix. I didn't want any money back ,just what I thought I was ordering. Well.... I was stuck with a product I absolutely hated. Sadly, I won't be returning!
I had been going there for some time and ordered delivery alot. The lady (I believe one of owners) taking my delivery order was rude, short with me and told me to hurry up by getting impatient with me and saying. . "You know I'm really busy here, I have a lot of people right now" ..when I paused to select my next item while placing my order. I told her then nevermind.. I don't appreciate the way you treated me, on second thought forget it. So i don't recommend this place and won't be dining there or eating from there again. There are plenty of really good Chinese places in Morgan Hill that have excellent service, to go with reasonably priced meals vs China Palace that has been so so service.. to now rude service, for overpriced food!!!
I HATE THIS PLACE! I will never come here ever again because of how arrogant, rude and disrespectful the lady is. She takes way to long (the lady at the front). She needs to know how to be polite and to stop being so friggin negative to the co-workers. I don’t know if she is the owner but someone needs to write this so I did. If you have time to wait I guess you can wait here but your not going to like the customer service. I am so mad at how rude she was to me that I am actually writing this.like I have stuff to do and I can’t believe how frustrated I am.🤬😡😤😤
Place use to have great food now the length of time to get food and time you are ignored to order overweigh your moneys worth. Ordering food to pick up takes longer then it should and they will refuse to let DoorDash or Uber eats deliver food after taking the order
The food is really good ,the one thing that did upset me is one of the staff reminding me that I didn't leave a tip the last time I came to eat , I been here multiple times and for all I can remember is that yes they bring out my food and that's it , i would most of the time have to get up and look for a server to ask for forks or whatever is missing at my table ,so if I have to get up from my chair multiple times to get what I need them most likely I will not leave a tip
Worst food ever. And just worst Chinese food, but worst food ever, seriously! I ordered “house special” fried rice, pot stickers and general tso chicken. It had such a nasty taste, had to throw it away immediately. And even the few bites I tried made me sick to my stomach. Wish I could give 0 stars!
This place is a joke. Premium prices, mediocre service. The Service was colder than the food, and the food was pretty freaking cold. We sat for 15 mins before being acknowledged then sat for another 15 mins to get it order taken THEN waited 45 mins for cold food... Sucks... Won't be recommending this place or coming back
This place has really fallen. The new owners have completely ruined the quality of the food and the style of cooking. I have been coming here for over 25 years and can't believe how terrible it has become. I won't be coming back. Morgan Hill has lost its best Chinese restaurant. This sucks
So, My mother and two daughters stepped in to have dinner. We were the only family there they had just opened up around 4pm and so first of all, the lady Helen was on the phone for about 20 minutes before asking about our order. The broccoli and beef came out cold. Very Sloppy service as well. Our experience was not good at all. We didn't even finish our food, honestly food was not fresh. On top of everything she had the audacity to add a 15% Service tip without my consent. Tried to force us to pay a tip when clearly they did not provide a good service whatsoever. The first time I went it went well. This second time. Fail. Sorry but not returning again.
One star is too high. Can’t understand any of the positive reviews posted. We arrived around 2:30pm with only one group of 6 Chinese completing their service in the entire restaurant. Only One person working as the server/cashier front of the house. She was busy dealing with a vendor at the register and we seated ourselves, waited about 10 minutes, nothing , no water/service before I went to the register to ask for menus and bring back to the table. Another 15 minutes and we finally were able to get an order in and some water served to the table. She was nice, but overwhelmed with by now , serving 5 tables by herself. Everyone seated themselves. One family actually got up and left the restaurant because they got no service. I commented to them they made the correct choice to leave and they agreed. we were already committed to ordering and in the middle of our meal. The good , egg foo young was fresh and delicious but too much sauce. Egg rolls good flavor. The bad, way too salty on kung pao chicken and green bean bean sauces way too much salt. My wife is Chinese and sent hers back to the kitchen. The new one came out with less sauce and was better. The final straw was the bill came, and everything was a higher price than the printed menu. The server could not adjust , and said it was a computer issue so she could not adjust for credit payment. Of course the old ‘no manager or owner on site to resolve’ line. Luckily I had just enough cash to cover the correct amount. This place just doesn’t pass the test.
The mid-aged lady (which I think was one of the owners) refused to give me more than one sweet and sour containers after I placed $200 worth of takeout food. The reason being is because I, “didn’t order appetizers and sweet and sour only belongs on appetizers.” While that may be culturally true, we enjoy sweet and sour on food such as fried rice. Will not be going back if they’re going to be stiff on sauces - even after placing an order of $200. If you enjoy bad service, go here.
Very disappointed They close at three for a break before dinner service I don't know if that was the issue but I ordered to-go and it wasn't an "authentic" Chinese food experience, in my opinion. I would hope that a nice venue like this would make an effort to really focus on an authentic Chinese cuisine that would truly be a place for catering events and utilizing the space for a lunch buffet or dim sum. What a great addition that would be to MoHill's downtown area.
I am not very happy customer. I went in today, and took my food to go and tasted the food. It was very salted. I called and they told me they couldn't refund me, and they told me to bring the food back and they would remake it. And even had to say that they would have to taste the food and so to see if i was saying the truth!!! If the owner reads this review, I hope you can reach out to me.
be careful if you use a credit card, I was there March 20,2025 around 5:30 pm and they did $200 in fraud on my card. I had to cancel my card get another one, I will not be going there again
Horrible experience. The food was old tasting and not edible. The waiter took the order and never came back. Seems like this place does not care about customer service and really doesn't care about what the customer thinks. The food was awful and I rarely say that I don't recommend a place unless you want food poisoning.
I want to start by saying that I have been going to China Palace for close to 35 years. It was my favorite restaurant as a kid. My go-to. But not anymore. My husband and I came here for lunch on Saturday at 1pm the restaurant was empty should have been our first clue. We haven't eaten here for approximately 9 year, we moved out of the area for a while. The last time was right around the time they moved to this location, and it was good at that time. However, our experience was disappointing, to say the less. We got the lunch specials. I got the tofu vegetables, and he got the sweet and sour pork as our mains. When the food came out, the first thing I did was break my egg role in half and start to take a bite. It was cold in the middle, and there was a strong oder of rotten cabbage - a very distinctive smell. We told the waitresses she looked at us. and then said.... (OK, I will tell the cook) and then walked away.... our expectations after working in the restaurant industry for many years. Was for them to replace them with fresh ones, but they didn't even take them away. The rest of the food was also not the best, overlay salty. The noodles were overcooked. Just poor quality. I ate like 1/3 of my food . When it was time to pay, my husband asked if we could get a couple of dollars off for the egg roles, and the waitress just plain said no. Fine whatever shitty food and services 😒. But the best part is my husband and I both have food poisoning like symptoms. Yeah. Very memorable experience!!!! Never again!!
It's closed - the sign on the door says for remodeling, but it's dead closed and has been for a bit. It's awful that the web site doesn't mention this and it really pisses me off.
I have lunch here yesterday. I have been living in Morgan Hill for over 27 years and have ordered food from China Palace for years. It’s always been the go to. I ordered lettuce wraps and egg rolls. I was so disappointed about the ingredients in the lettuce wraps gave the impression they are cutting corners. Peas and carrots do not go in lettuce wraps. The egg rolls were poorly executed. The food is horrible. Also, my husband ordered shrimp egg foo young. It’s was scrabbled eggs with shrimp on top. Again, poorly executed and tasted bad. I am done with this restaurant. Too bad the owners sold it to someone who doesn’t know how to cook Chinese food.
