Great place! Heard they were dog friendly and had outdoor seating. Stopped in and had a delicious Ron Swanson omelette and coffee. Took a cinnamon roll to go too. The staff were very warm and welcoming. My pup Nina made lots of friends. Thanks Frankie and Lola’s! Good parking if you come early. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.
Great spot for breakfast and a view of the water too. Lots of unique entrees like the brie and ham omelette and the andouille sausage and prawn scramble. Chip the server always friendly too
We were in Morro Bay for 4 mornings. We ate breakfast at Frankie and Lola's for 3 of those mornings. It would have been 4 but they were all filled up. That's how good this place is! The staff was flawless, pleasant, and so efficient. The food was fantastic with great quality and a varied selection. Absolutely do not miss when visiting Morro Bay! Come more than once, you will not regret it.
Love this place!!!!! Great owners and staff. The food is delicious! I keep bringing new people here, and they all say the same thing. I will always recommend Frankie and Lola's
Had breakfast here this am (Thursday 4/21) and it was amazing. The employees were kind, the food was beautifully cooked, and everything tasted so perfectly seasoned and prepared. They also came out very quickly (about 10 minutes) for such beautiful meals! I had the “ABC scramble” and it was amazing, as were the potatoes. My spouse had the “da bomb” sandwich and it was perfection! Couldn’t not take a cinnamon roll and it was SO good- not too dry like so many, and with perfect icing and not too much or too little of it. Thanks, y’all! We work in Big Sur in the middle of nowhere so we’ll definitely be back as often as we can make it down to you!
Stopped in for breakfast and it was delicious. They had a very fun and unique menu with something for everyone. I went with my favorite breakfast burrito. As you can see by my pic it was very yummy and loaded with goodness. Great services and my coffee cup was never empty. Oh the coffee was so good! The view was great it was foggy but still gorgeous views of Morro Bay Rock and the bay. Go and enjoy!
Super friendly staff. Reasonable pricing as well for the amount of food you get. Overall a really good breakfast. The potatoes were definitely my favorite. Brown & Crispy and not burnt. Pretty decent sized menu for such a little place. A wonderful little gem of Morro. Definitely will be back.
Looking for some great food this is the place to stop by when visiting Morro Bay. Plan ahead, there is a wait but its well worth it. Had a scramble which was cooked to perfection. My wife had the PAZ with some modifications as for dietary needs and was recommended quickly with food additions. Must go.
Such an unassuming looking place, but, OH MY!! The breakfast is amazing! I had the ABC scramble and the hubby had the Oaxacanero Burrito. Both were huge portions. The country fried potatoes were magic. I don’t know what the do to them but they were super crispy on the outside and pillow soft on the inside and so flavorful! The staff was amazing and the food came out fast. Bonus…dog friendly outside tables!
Had toast and Coffee this morning. ... And when I say toast ...I mean the most delicious, satisfying, gastrnomic miracle 💕 Do yourself a favor and flip to the back of the menu and order from the Toast section. TOAST of the COAST ! Thanks for a fabulous morning... Service was great ...I felt like family...I'll be back !
Excellent! Our server Pixie was super nice! The Classic Creole Eggs Benedict is spectacular! Thx for a great breakfast!
I came in hoping for a shrimp omelette but settled for an all meat with a side of home fried potatoes. It was stuffed and very good. There is a shrimp dish on the menu but it seemed a bit outside my taste range. I ate outside with a great view of Morro Rock. Attentive servers. 5 stars all around.
Just fantastic. Food is fresh, creative and just delicious. Service is always friendly and efficient. There’s outdoor seating as well. One of the highlights of the Central Coast
Holy cow. I have to say we didnt originally plan to eat here, but I am SOO glad we ended up here! The other place totally ignored us and never brought menus or greeted us, so we left and found this gem! I was lured in by the brulee french toast. When we sat, our server was super nice, knowledgeable on the menu, and helped us out a lot. We both ended up getting the french toast, and shared the corned beef hash. The french toast was SO rich, and absolutely delicious. Neither of us could finish it, but the hash was SO good also we finished that first and couldnt finish the French toast. I absolutely wish we lived here, and we could come weekly. You guys hit the nail on the head with place, food, and service! Thank you thank you!
Phenomenal job! Excellent service and even better food! Everything was spot on and house made. We will be back.
We stop here everytime we are staying in Morro Bay. Small dining area with some outside seating looking at Morro Rock. The menu has many unusual items that are excellent. We have tried a few different ones, but my favorite is the PZP. The bread pudding is to die for and also kills any diet ideas. This time my husband had the Sardont and loved it. He also likes the corned beef hash. Kiki was a great server. Very friendly and efficient. They are only open until 12:30 pm with mostly breakfast items and a few lunch ones.
This is probably my favorite breakfast spot on earth - I have literally planned trips up the coast just to have an excuse to come. I went vegan recently too and they have super easy subs to make. We got the oaxacanero burrito and leroy browns, both veganized (sub for soyrizo and tofu and leave out dairy to do that). Vegan or not though this is some of the best food and vibes you can find on the central coast. And you can't beat the view from the dining room!
Unassuming place that surprised us with the deliciousness and presentation of the food! The menu had some unique options and we were happy with what we ordered (the Nom Nom Omelette and the Leroy Brown with over easy eggs added). Scrumptious!
An absolute treat! Me and my family came here December 2019 and I still dream about the food we got at this cafe. We came in on a really windy/ dreary/ overall sad and miserable day after going to the dog beach, but after our meal here my mood went from 0-100 super quick. Our server was extremely kind, hospitable, and accommodating. The food was amazing as well! We ordered the South Side Philly, Grilled Reuben, the Snootie Grilled Cheese and a side of Tri tip Chili. And for desert we all shared a thicc slice of their homemade chocolate cake, it was so good I really did forget about Brexit and the general elections for a hot sec. Would definitely recommend for any one in the area or just passing by!
Morro Bay has been a part of our family vacation trip for the past 8 years. Today is the 1st time ordering food here and I can't believe we waited so long. Food, salsa and cinnamon rolls are amazing! They even cut and individually wrapped our burritoes. The oaxacana burrito is my fave so far. Everyone was so sweet and made you feel welcomed! Thank you! See you next year🥰🥰🥰.
What a wonderful way to start our vacation! Food is incredible! I had the corn beef hash and my wife had egg and sausage burrito. It was my wife’s birthday, they surprised us with a huge cinnamon bun with a candle singing happy birthday! So great to see a place have pride in their food, service and customers. A must do if you are in the area.
Delicious food and excellent service! My husband and I have been coming here consistently for the last few years and staff has always been friendly and accommodating. Very inclusive environment and I love all the pride flags. There is usually a bit of a wait (10-30 minutes) but the food makes it worth it. Our favorites are the All In Good Fungi toast and the Oaxacanerra burrito.
View is gorgeous, and an easy walk to see the otters across the bay. You might have to wait for a table, but it is well worth it. Service is fast, food is incredible. They also started serving a local coffee and it is fabulous, bags of grounds sold up front for when you inevitably fall in love.
The food was fresh and tasty. I had the pancakes and sausage and my wife had a no egg omelet. (Look at the pic to see how thick and fluffy the pancakes are.) She had the sexy coffee and she loved it. We also had the French toast and it was delicious. The staff was very helpful and kind.
Looking for a great breakfast place in Morro Bay? This is it. They only offer breakfast, and they do it well. We went here every morning. Everything is made there, so it is all fresh. Great selection of breakfast choices. I loved the spinach, mushroom cheese omelet over a phyllo cup. I also loved the seeded wheat toast, which they always cut into the shape of a heart.
Wish I got a photo of my breakfast! My entire family loved their meal, ESPECIALLY the pancakes. Wow, they were airy, crispy delicious edges, pillowy, just the perfect combo. I had the Prawn and Andouille which had this delicious smoky sauce with a creamy hollandaise! Such a delightful breakfast served by a very sweet staff.
I had the omelet and the turkey sausage was amazing. The cinnamon roll tasted great. Had the yogurt with granola, and that granola was amazing.
Having a great breakfast with the view of Morro Rock! We ordered Scrambles(spinach and mushroom), All in good fungi, Corned beef hash, Sandoos(Da bomb) and their famous french toast aka Bread pudding. They were all very good. My sandwich had crispy grilled toast with just match lettuce, tomato and bacon, simple combination but taste great. The bread pudding was like a sticky dough with cinnamon powder and walnut, looks very sweet but I'd say it not that sweet.
Best breakfast in the county! They have a creative menu with delicious food! You can feel the love and warmth and everyone is so cute and friendly.
The Morro Bay hot spot for a delicious breakfast! Food and service were fast and friendly. We had a party of 11 that they accomodated on short notice with 2 separate tables. Food was oustanding! Coffee 10/10!
Best breakfast we’ve had anywhere. The food is absolutely great. On the way in to the restaurant two different people stopped us to tell us how great the food was. And, to say you’re making a good choice going to this restaurant. We ordered the Chilaquiles to share, which were divided in the kitchen We are vegetarians so we were able to replace the turkey chorizo with soy Rizzo it was great. Excellent atmosphere with a beautiful view. We ate outside with a great view of Morro rock. Chipp was our server and he helped us with a very professional, kind, helpful attitude. Don’t miss trying this restaurant if you’re in Morro Bay.
My friend and I enjoyed breakfast here. I ordered the come together avocado toast without Sunflower seeds, and my friend ordered the Oaxaca burrito without sour cream. Both were delicious. Plus they remembered both our food modifications. Delightful outdoor patio with view of small marina.
We had a wonderful breakfast near Sea Otter Nursery in Morro Bay🦦🦦🦦 The avocado toast was fresh & flavorful😋😋😋& the scrambled veggie eggs were a delicious, healthy choice. It's a perfect spot to enjoy a nourishing meal while also being close to the nursery🦦, so u could enjoy both. A perfect way to start the day
In our 11-day road trip around the South-West, this was one of my favourite meals. Americans generally have the cooked breakfast down to a fine art, but Frankie & Lola's took it to the next level. It's a cute, unassuming little place directly opposite Morro Rock, but you're made to feel welcome by the lovely staff there. Prices are pretty good value for the portions you get and the coffee is decent. What sets it apart however is their own twist on breakfast classics, with a wide ranging and wittily-named menu. Dishes are beautifully cooked and it's clear there's attention to detail in the recipes and the presentation. We were raving about our orders and as you can see they looked as good as they tasted
Read about this place and needed to try check it out, very happy I did. Frankie and Lola's was the perfect way to end a wonderful weekend trip to Morro Bay. Everything about this place was wonderful and I recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly. This place offers both indoor and outdoor seating, I recommend outdoors if the weather permits. Service- Fantastic, each and every employee that we chatted with was genuinely kind and helpful. Food was excellent and hearty. Plenty of options of food to try out. Cleanliness- Place was definitely clean. Parking- Plenty of it. My recommendation is to arrive early and enjoy this restaurant before it gets super busy.
Simply amazing. The staff and food were top-notch. I had an omelet that was so delicious! The skillet potatoes were crunchy and seasoned just right. I can't wait to go back there again. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Morro Bay. *7/25/23 update* Couldn't wait to go back here for breakfast. I had the omelet with the iron skillet potatoes. It was so good! The service is fast and friendly, and the prices are reasonable. You won't regret it. *6/18/25 update* So happy to be back there. Food is delicious, and service is fast and friendly. A must-go every time I'm up in Morro Bay.
Frankie and Lola's Café is an absolute gem! The sandwiches here are nothing short of amazing—fresh, flavorful, and packed with quality ingredients. Whether you're in the mood for something classic or a bit more adventurous, they have a perfect option for every palate. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that every visit is a pleasant one.
Nice and no hassle bistro atmosphere in front of Morro Rock. Some car traffic but mostly foot traffic. Choice of indoor or outdoor table. Fast and friendly service. Food was delicious and the much needed coffee was superb. Great area for photos. Please tip your waitstaff! Thank you!
The food was delicious, the service was fabulous, celebrating Rusty was delightful, and the owner went above and beyond to absolutely make our day!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for a beautiful experience!!
Super good breakfast !!! And friendly service i would recommend the pancakes all our food was great thou!! Saber was a great server !!
Great first visit to this gem. The fried green tomato Benedict was outstanding sitting on a bed of the best grits. Great crisp on the potatoes. The corned beef hash is done right. Chunks of house cured corned beef with onions potatoes and peppers. The way it is supposed to be not that canned garbage.
I try to eat here at least once a month, that's how much I enjoy this place. It's really hard to find fried green tomatoes and even harder to find good ones, this place has the best. Plenty of options if you are a meat eater or a vegetarian. Oh, the grits! Flippin' amazing! The entire staff, lovely. Even the patrons are amazing folks. If you want the total experience, come here. If you eat here and you aren't happy, you have no taste and you should go back to McDonald's chump. Oh yeah, if you have to wait for a table, it's totally worth it. Don't be a weenie.
We stumbled in once then were sure to come back! We loved it. The staff were all kind and very attentive. We didn’t wait for it table but then à bunch of parties came in and they waited. Getting here earlier is best. The food was so well seasoned and delicious. The vegan options really made this à huge win for us.
One of the most delicious breakfasts I've had in my life. Tried the "Here Comes the Sun" toast with arugula, goat cheese, bacon, and sunflower seeds on sourdough. I could not recommend it enough. Also had the cinnamon roll on the side. It was delightful. I also loved the atmosphere, the coworker dynamic is wholesome and the waiters are kind and friendly.
Fantastic service! As busy as they were, they came to check on us frequently (shout out to Chipp!), filling coffee often, and made sure we were enjoying our food. It was our anniversary and they special surprised my partner and I with a fancy fruit bowl for me (I am gluten free), and a fresh cinnamon roll. The portions are very large. Be prepared to wait as it is worth the wait. The menu item names crack me up and I appreciated our server knew about gluten free items for my allergy. We only wish they had outdoor heaters as it gets very chilly outside.
Great breakfast with an amazing view. Seated outside. Service was prompt and pleasant. Food was awesome. I had the Principles a scramble with artichoke hearts, olives, capers, garlic and more. Absolutely delicious. She had the chilaquiles and it was huge. Very flavorful with a hint of heat. Can't wait for my next trip out to grab breakfast here again.
Wonderful little spot in Morro Bay! Food was innovative and really fun. I had a hard time choosing but was very happy with what I got. Everything was delicious I have zero complaints. Small detail but I love the fact that they give you big coffee mugs. Something about having a nice warm cup of coffee with a hot breakfast really hits the spot especially when you have an ocean view in the background too.
One of the best little breakfast and lunch restaurants on the Embarcadero in Morro Bay!. The breakfasts are phenomenal! The fresh cinnamon rolls with coffee and the view of Morro Bay rock are the perfect start to exploring Morro Bay! Get here early and prepare for a wait as the place is always packed!! Definitely try the ABC, Avocado, Bacon, and Cheese Scramble! A great choice to load up on energy to start the day!!
Great little spot for breakfast! Sat outside and had a view of the rock! Had the Wesside omelette that has sweet potatoes, leeks and corn, it was amazing! Never had anything like it! The potatoes were perfect! BF had the zucchini pancake and that was even better!! That was recommended by our server who was very nice and helpful! Got to talk to the owner and she said as very nice, will definitely come back!
There's a lot of good things to say about Frankie and Lola's front Street Cafe! So I'll get to those first. As you arrive you're greeted by a captivating ocean view. There is plenty of parking, so no need to worry about finding a spot. As you enter the cafe you'll find both outdoor and indoor seating. The interior decorations are cute, funny, and fit the personality of the building. The menu is amazing. I wanted to try everything, but we settled on the chillequilles and breakfast burrito. Both dishes were done to perfection. The staff was very friendly, courtious, and fast. So, what's not to like about it? The seating capacity. The inside only seats about 22 people, and the outside seats about 16. We sat inside and it was just fine, but if you're expecting to sit with a large party, you may never get a table. I would definitely suggest visiting Frankie and Lola's!
You couldn't ask for a better location sitting right across the street from the water. Good menu overall. I end up choosing the Benedict with mushrooms served over grits. Great contrasts in flavor that no matter how you took a bite it was very flavorful. It is a very small spot so expect to wait at times for a table.
Finally!!! Someone knows how to prepare eggs over medium. Hallelujah. I'll be back for that alone. Will not, however, order the iron skillet potatoes ever again. Good idea, failed execution. Way overcooked, too much mystery seasoning, and very dry. I don't mind if you don't peel your potatoes, just don't ruin them. The English muffin was apparently grilled not toasted and I asked for butter and strawberry jam on the side. Delectable! I asked other diners their opinion and found out the pancakes were superb, comes as a huge portion (you might want to share). And the lox/cream cheese sandwich was a hit. Didn't see it on the menu so it might have been a special. Cozy, colorful restaurant with eclectic decor. Service was terrific and the prices were reasonable. Plenty of free parking right out front. Decent view of Morro Rock and the water.
They've have a good looking menu and have soyrizo and tofu they can use to create quite a few good substitutions. We had the breakfast burrito and the Oaxacan. Both were really good. Additionally, the have oat and almond milk available for coffee. The service was friendly as well, definitely a good breakfast spot.
Great place to get breakfast! Sexy coffee is the best! I got seasonal pumpkin pancakes that were so delicious, but huge! I should have gotten just one instead of two, because they are as wide as the plate and thick! But so good! My boyfriend got corn beef hash, and said it was not as seasoned as much as he would have liked. We would still eat here again. So many things in the menu look great!
Food was ok. I like my coffee black and hot and I did not like the fact that milk was added to my coffee without asking. The portions are big so make sure you are really hungry. The view would have been amazing but it was a foggy morning and cold so we could not see the rock. We sat outside I am not sure if there is inside sitting and it there is we were not told. The person who help us at the window was friendly though.
Service was friendly, and the environment was quaint and lovely. Unfortunately the food left much to be desired, but it could have been just because of what we ordered. Their seasonal pumpkin pancakes were very heavily seasoned with nutmeg to the point that they were spicy. (Less is more.) And the corned beef hash were literally chips of dried corned beef mixed with chunks of potato and peppers. It was more like beef jerky. It was mostly inedible. But other reviews with pictures of other food items look pretty good.
Not food related but if you walk towards the Bay, you may spot some sea otters! Food/Taste/Flavor: 2/5- ABC scrambles with herbed cream cheese, scallions, bacon, avocado, and sprouts on the side. The side of potatoes is great with a crispy and flavorful outside. The avocado is fresh but the egg itself is overcooked which is disappointing for a scrambled egg. It has some chorizo like seasoning but it was dry and dense/heavy Ambience: N/A - no dining inside but they have little tables set up so you can eat with a view of Morro Rock and the bay Service: 4/5 - Had a slight delay as they were catching up to the kitchen inside. Quoted about 10 minutes for the scrambled eggs Value for price: 2/5 - $13.54 for overcooked scrambled eggs, pretty disappointing :(
Ordered the crazy Ivan, which was really good. Then ordered the bread pudding French toast… which was completely inedible. We thought maybe it was the sauce overpowering, server was really nice about it and replaced it with another. Still it was inedible and I would not recommend. Concept is great but the batter and sauce is so overwhelming with nutmeg and spices and it wasn’t properly cooked leaving it super dense (not like bread pudding)
I’m not quite sure why there was a wait at Frankie and Lola’s, as the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. Their take on Eggs Benedict was bland and disappointing, lacking the flavor you’d expect from such a classic dish. Overall, the food was pretty lackluster. The one saving grace was the cinnamon roll—it was truly a gem, warm, gooey, and full of flavor. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to make up for the rest of the experience. Wouldn’t rush back, but maybe worth a stop just for the cinnamon roll.
The food was good. The location is great. The waiter (John) was not nice. He never smiled, never asked if we needed anything else. I had to request a coffee refill which he did when we were about to leave with an attitude. Respect is everything for me. I understand that they work for a minimum wage but so does most of other people and they still manage to be nice, respectful, and positive.
Classic Eggs Benedict, a slab of heavily smoked breakfast ham on a small English muffin, not the mild Canadian Bacon that melds so flawlessly with traditional Hollandaise, egg, and muffin combination. Eggs cooked perfectly, but the Hollandaise is not recognizable. Cajun flavored with Franks red hot sauce and chili powder? It is really no problem as the smoked ham slice is overpowering all other flavors. Online menu said $11.99, got there $17.99. In no way is this the classic dish, the Benedict Arnold of Classic Eggs Benedict.
I recently dined here, and while the food was okay.. nothing amazing, but decent. The customer service really brought the experience down. What stood out most was the lack of attention from the staff. No one checked on our table the entire time we were there, which was frustrating, especially considering the restaurant wasn’t even busy. It felt like we were forgotten. Good service makes a big difference, and unfortunately, that was missing during our visit. Not sure if I’d return.
