If you're looking for a genuine culinary experience, without unnecessary luxuries but with a quality that speaks for itself, this is the place. The atmosphere is that of a welcoming and unpretentious trattoria, where you immediately feel at home. The tagliatelle with hare sauce was a riot of flavor, made just like grandma would make it. But the real masterpiece was the wild boar with chestnuts and apples: a perfect combination, a dish I'll never forget. And the bill? Only €20 for a first course, second course with side dish, coffee, and beer. A bargain! I'll definitely be back.

In Sottochiesa in the Taleggio Valley, next to the parish church dedicated to San Giovanni Battista with its medieval Salvioni Tower, "Il San Marco" is worth a stop: an excellent trattoria where you can experience the friendly atmosphere of times gone by, in a clean, simple mountain setting. With a strong connection to local traditions and products, the "figli" (stuffed parcels) with strachitunt fondue, pears, and walnuts are a must-try. The beef stew with chestnuts and polenta is excellent. Service is fast and accurate, with kindness and friendliness. Thanks to all the staff for the delicious experience... see you soon!

We had lunch during the week. The staff were really friendly and made us feel very comfortable. The decor creates the perfect atmosphere for the Taleggio Valley. The food was simply delicious, one of the best venison dishes I've ever had, and the price was very fair! I can't recommend it enough; we'll definitely be back.

Today #Noimedesimi we were here for lunch. We were passing through Val Taleggio and we looked for a place to stop almost at random. Choice that turned out to be excellent. Quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, abundant dishes and excellent prices. Gnocchi with delicious cream cheese and walnuts, very tender venison that melted in the mouth. Cheese platter for two people... that four of us didn't finish! Polenta to accompany everything and a taste of homemade pear and chocolate cake, because even though we were full we couldn't leave without trying it. All for less than €20 per person. Recommended if you pass by the area, as we will definitely do again #Noimedesimi.

We stumbled upon this place by chance. Let's just say it didn't look very promising from the outside... In fact, we wanted to turn around and leave, but we were right to go in! Once inside, it feels like being in a brasserie or a Bavarian restaurant. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and unique! Timeless! The traditional dishes of the Taleggio Valley are expertly prepared. The casoncelli, the polenta, the variety of cured meats and cheeses (strachinú, taleggio, etc.) are all excellent! The house wine is also quite good. Let's just say that if you're there for a nice excursion, you can't miss this place... Highly recommended!

Il personale è cortese ed le porzioni molto abbondanti, ma non mi è piaciuto il volume della televisione molto alto, i bagni tenuti molto male ed il prezzo, non consono alla qualità offerta.

Tourist trap, beware! We went for dinner on a Sunday evening... First (and last) time: mediocre food, reheated on the spot, slow service, and to top it all off.... Despite the prices being displayed at the top left of the register, the owner took advantage of us by raising the price of each course. We didn't call the finance police because we were tired and just wanted to go home, but it was busy. The prices for Italian cuisine are displayed at the top left: first courses €6.50, second courses €11, second courses with side dishes €13... Instead, she charged us much more... first courses €7.50, second courses €12, plus side dishes €4, and so on.... For a total of almost €15 more than the prices displayed. Never again. Stay away from these people.
