I recently checked out the Muffins Cafe on Columbus Avenue and loved their menu as well as their prices, staff etc! I ordered their Caesar Salad that was delicious. The lettuce was fresh and the croutons were tasty.

A little neighborhood coffee counter with a full of delightful hazelnut smell inside. The price is reasonable, especially given the fantastic location. You grab a couple of pastries and take out a coffee of your preference, and the central park is right down the street for you to enjoy all of those.

Lovely cafe with a cozy New York spirit. There were people speaking French beside me, and everyone said hello to a regular named Paul. I had the lemon yogurt cake and small coffee.

Got the lox bagel on everything- bagel was 10/10 but the amount of salmon was 3/10 - it is a criminally small amount- one strip of salmon. Cream cheese was excellent and tomato was quality but there were no capers 🤨😣. The cost was the same as a lox from other shops with 3 times the salmon. If it was like $10 then the value would be there. But with that said -inside it is super tiny (4 two tops only but it makes up for the lack of size with charm. The two ladies behind the counter were not super friendly but very professional which is nice. It was a stead stream of customers from 9:20-950 so the place is known and used by locals.

Muffins Cafe is a great local spot in the UWS! Very friendly staff that seem to enjoy what they do. The service is pretty quick so you aren't finding yourself waiting for too long for either food or coffees/drinks. I do wish they had some more variety on cream cheeses (they only have butter or plain). Don't need anything too wild but maybe a rotating option? Love to stop by here in the mornings for a quick bite and nice cup of coffee. Great local neighborhood spot!

Great cozy spot with amazing coffee & decaf options. Great, attentive service. Only gripe is the scarce amount of healthy options when it comes to food & dessert. Nothing whole grain, everything contains white flour, butter, and/ or dairy! ☠️. Stay away if you care about your health and the way you look and feel.

coffee and pastries were fine but the iced chai was good (not $9.50 good but good). the service wasn’t great 😔 would not come back

I am not sure why the staff keep asking me if I am ready to order when I was still reading the menu (it was my first time in this place). I had chocolate croissant and a regular latte, the chocolate croissant was good and the latte was also good.

I went in at 4:45 on a Friday and the store had a weird smell to it. Like the burnt aspects of coffee, tea, and bread. They sell coffee and pastries. Do they do any of them spectacularly? No. I asked for a cortado and she asked, “small or large?” It was a bad omen I guess. Prices are pretty good for the neighborhood. I like that they have a bench in front to sit and people watch. Give it a shot and then write your own review.

My iced tea had a definite coffee taste. Perhaps the tea was made in the same pot that coffee was made in.

Updated 31 July 2025: having been in the area more frequently in recent weeks, I've solidified my impression of a decline in service, which I'd noted some time ago (maybe later last year?). The food, or what I've had of same, is just as good, but service is atrocious. For example, the counter is quite high, yet, when I attempt to pay with a credit card, whoever is accepting payment makes no effort to make the card reader easier for me to reach. Another time (last week), I stopped by around 6:30 (they close at 7, per google) and was informed, not v politely, that no more coffee was available. Last night, as I was waiting to ask a question and place my order, another customer breezed in and placed hers -- and the attendant didn't even ask me whether I was ready to order, even though he saw me come in first. They're getting no more of my custom! Prior review: The food and coffee are consistently excellent; I always have a caffe latte and, often, the orange loaf. The coffee was strong and flavourful, and the orange loaf fresh and not overly sweet. I also tried the avocado toast, which was tasty. Another upside is the personnel, who are always polite and efficient. Couple of minor grumbles: they could keep longer hours of operation (Google lists them as closing at 8, but they seem to close before then); they could also resume offering some items I haven't seen in a while.

As I remember I ordered Oat Latte because If I get iced coffee then it gets so strong caffeine but obviously this tastes like iced coffee with splash of oat not Oat Latte. It seems they doesn't know how to make Latte. But I will visit again the croissants was good
