Llegamos tarde, la cocina cerraba en 4 minutos, nos atendieron de 10, la comida muy buena y bundante con precios promedios para la zona. Si te gustan los Pubs viejos y con estilo, este es uno que se puede visitar. Soy turista, me gusta la cerveza y los viejos bares.
Es genial, su comida, el sitio, el servicio, la verdad nunca pensé que hubieran este tipo de lugares tan increibles, estuve por mucho tiempo divirtiéndose con mis amigos y compartimos muy contentos. Invito a que lo visiten ya que su decoracion te hace llevar de vuelta a esa historia urbana. It's great, its food, the place, the service, the truth is I never thought that there would be such incredible places, I was having fun with my friends for a long time and we shared very happy. I invite you to visit it since its decoration takes you back to that urban history.
A great surprise to discover an underground pub I’ve walked past dozens of times without noticing. Our group of 14 was served quickly, and everyone loved their meals — from steak and parma to calamari and fries, sandwiches, and burgers. The atmosphere was lively but not too loud for a team lunch, though it may vary at other times. Really impressed and would highly recommend!
Top Sunday Roast in Melbourne! Roast pork belly and porchetta roast are at its perfect! All element were in spot, crispy crackling, soft and melted pork belly, tender and juicy meats. Best Yorkshire pudding as it’s not oily but eggy fragrant when it’s served. But among all of the best are the gravy, it’s mind blowing! Perfectly seasoned, and it’s naturally thicken by the collagen itself and taste lightly Guinness in the gravy, it’s just top! Roast veggies are perfectly cooked as well as their crispy roast potatoes. What a banger! 💯💯💯
I went in to kill some time while my wife was busy. I was pleasantly surprised to find live rugby on the big screen. Later when I asked for the T20 cricket to be played they put it on another TV for me. Very accomodating with good service. We only ate some fries so I can't really comment on food.
Absolutely incredible place, made me feel like I was back at home in England. Decorations were relevant and homely, food is incredible. I had the chicken schnitzel, perfectly cooked. Lovely pint of GUINESS and perfectly poured. Live sport is always an added bonus which range from premier league football matches to NBA games. 10/10 would 1000% come back!
You could write a novel about the food Our table had a mixture of dishes and all of them were exceptional ! Fish was cooked beautifully, hamburgers had lots of taste, lamb kofta delicious and the roast with Yorkshire pudding was to die for Staff, we’re friendly with drinks and meals coming out quickly and prices are reasonable There is a lift available if you can’t navigate stairs, this venue is definitely worth a drop in
Delightful little English styles pub . The atmosphere was lovely and the pub was well organised and had great ambience. Had the pie and peas which was very tasty and it was a great experience.
A classic underground pub in the CBD, possibly only matched by the Sherlock Holmes nearby. I'd you're British this is a great spot, a home away from home. If, like myself, you enjoy British beers, the range on tap is pretty enjoyable. Typical pub grub options with some British flair.
My favourite pub in Melbourne, and it is a proper pub. Definitely very English and reminds me of the pubs back in the UK. Excellent range of beers wines and spirits. Really good honest pub food. If you haven’t been, it’s well worth popping in.
Come for the Sunday roast!! It was a taste of home - proper Yorkshire puddings and a tasty pork roast joint, would reccomend as they have great British beers on tap too, and the food was so tasty - thank you!

Great English themed pub. Never had a bad meal here. Just enjoyed a Sunday roast. Good size and thankfully you get plenty of gravy. $22 at time of writing which is outstanding value.
Great choice of British beers (including Hobgoblin which is one of my favourites). Also nice food menu with many British classics and cozy atmosphere. Prices are reasonable too. But it gets busy on most evenings so I'd recommend booking a table in advance for dinner specially o weekends.
🇬🇧 A TRUE TASTE OF ENGLAND… IN MELBOURNE 🇬🇧 Hidden beneath the city streets is The Charles Dickens Tavern - an underground English pub that absolutely delivered the goods — good food, great drinks, and even better vibes. We wandered in on game day with the place packed wall-to-wall with Edmonton Oilers fans (seriously, every second person in a jersey), and the energy was electric. I ordered the Fish Finger Sandwiches, expecting a nostalgic little snack — what arrived looked more like fish burgers on steroids, and honestly… divine. I barely got a pic before half the fish fell out of the bun mid-shot 😂 Gary went full Brit with bangers and mash (his standard go-to), and Tom tackled the chicken schnitzel — which was massive and gone in minutes. The drinks? Exceptional. The crowd? Rowdy in the best way. The food? Absolutely nailed it. Massive shoutout to Tom for the recommendation — and next time, I’m definitely bringing the camera.
For a Tuesday early evening this was a surprisingly busy pub with large screen TV showing sports. Nevertheless, bar service was quick, though time from ordering food to delivery to the table was a little longer than expected. Food was good. I would recommend this bar for a visit.
Amazing basement pub and absolutely delicious food with lovely staff! I had the parma but asked for no ham, and they were perfectly fine with that, super accommodating and friendly. There were TVs showcasing both AFL and Soccer, which added to the lively vibe. The overall atmosphere had a classic English/Scottish/Irish pub feel, which was super awesome and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place worth coming back to!
We were a group of 6 and all enjoyed our meals here, highly recommend the ploughman's and the buffalo wings. Good range of beers and excellent service.
This is my favourite pub in Australia! The Scotch Egg is ridiculously good and quite possibly the best in the World!! The Hobgoblin beer is amazing and even better than my old favourite Old Speckled Hen which they also have to do your own comparison. Staff are super friendly and lots of lovely old school pub charm.
Great bar underground in the Royal Arcade. Friendly staff. Lots of customers. Good beer selection, but I saw they did Bloody Mary's, so I tried one. Was very good for $18. Plus, they were having a comedy night later in the evening.
Great service from all the staff, very helpful when placing a food order with allergy requirements. Good drink offers and delicious food! All the sports was shown as well, f1, NRL and AFL
Great place for a pint and watch the Aussies grind out the 4th test vs India. The steak I ordered was perfect, appreciated the fact I can order sans chips without paying extra. A good selection of taps including Hobgoblin Ruby, will defo be back if I get the chance
Delightful pub with delicious Sunday Roast. But the sticky date pudding drenched in sticky toffee sauce (with ice-cream!) stole the show!! Heavenly! Friendly, helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. Definitely felt like we were back in a British pub.

The atmosphere is lively, with passionate fans adding to the experience. It has a classic British pub vibe with a solid selection of beers — especially great if you’re into Irish brews. The draft options are excellent, and the $9 pints and $4.50–$6 schooners make it an affordable spot for a drink. Didn’t try much of the food — it seemed to be self-service — but there’s plenty of seating and it’s definitely a top pick for watching a game. Highly recommended.
