MSR Mexican Food

I'm a regular. The food is consistently good. I judge a place on their rice and beans, and I'm never disappointed. I recommend the Chile relleno plate or burrito. I also enjoy their crunchy beef tacos and carnitas. The place is a "dive" but the staff is great and I come for the food not the decor.

I love the fish tacos that are $1.19 on Mondays they are really good and they come in a full size tortilla. The sauce they use is delish 😋 i also love the chicken rolled tacos here as well. Definitely will be coming back

Just moved to this area of Murrieta, saw the place but was not interested...then one day I decided to try it. The food is so authentic..wonderful salsas..tacos..posole, street tacos and rice and beans.. so so good and tasty. I.will continue to get my Mexican food there...reasonable prices too.

Amazing food! I tried this wonderful little restaurant because I had a Groupon voucher. I was pleasantly surprised at how fantastic the food was. I brought the rest of my family back a couple of days later for lunch. We had the chile relleno and cheese enchilada; the chicken chimichanga; and the chile verde combination plates. They loved it! The staff is so kind and courteous. The prices are very reasonable. The chile relleno was the best I ever had (it's my favorite thing to order, so I have plenty to compare it to)!

Best Mexican food in the area, hands down. And on top of that, incredibly reasonable pricing. Stop paying $4 for a single mediocre taco when you can just come to MSR and get some real fire.

All these complaining, cheap-@$$ people leaving comments. $5.99 for a bean burrito, from a restaurant is completely normal, especially after the huge inflation bump. The old saying, "if you have to ask 'How Much?' you probably can't afford it, applies here. So eat at home. MSR doesn't need you and your husband ordering a bean burrito to cut in half and share and two water cups that your husband puts sprite in. He's got social security, a $4k monthly pension, and rental income from three properties, yet he's cheap to the point of being a pest. All you do is complain, gossip, and buy two ply toilet paper that you split apart and make two rolls. What a wonderful and happy life you have. You should just ask God to take you now.

We just moved to this Murrieta location. I did not go there for a couple of months. I gave it a try and food was really good I have been going there and trying different meals. All delicious. This past Fathers Day we had planned a get together with family and friends. I had food catered from them for the first time. We had the shrimp fajitas, carne asada, pollo asado with all the fixins...beans, rice tortillas salsa etc. Our guests were impressed with all the food and how delicious it was. Very reasonably priced. Their posole is fantastic as well as their salsa bar! My go to place for Mexican food!

I catered the party pack for a baby shower plus some extras to feed 40 to 50 people and it was more than enough food! Packaged well and professionally and food was fresh and delicious. This is the 2nd time I've done catering and have always been more than satisfied. Santiago is great to work with and his prices are great. Highly recommend

Took my kitty to the vet and saw this little hole in the wall and advertised fish tacos and decided to try it. Although my husband was hesitant saying “we never heard of this place or reviews”??? I agree but decided why not?? I’ll tell you, the fish was fresh and it was very delicious. I can imagine this being a weekly craving I just can’t get enough of. So I’m glad that I ventured out of my comfort zone and went for it. Hats off to MSR Mexican Food for delicious hot food and amazing green salsa. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Look forward in coming back.

Hadn't been here in about a year, stopped in today for some sopes, tacos, and a wet burrito. Needles to say, delicious. Just a small taco shop, with big flavor. The staff is always nice, and prices are affordable. If I lived in the area, I'd be a regular. I fully endorse it!

i really liked the 'al pastor' and the 'chorizo' tacos that they had here. the price isn't too bad for the quality you'll be getting. they did offer chips and salsa at no extra charge. the salsa station in the lobby was a bit messy and low on some of the supply but the lobby itself was generally clean. they have a big menu here and a lot of parking available in the shopping center.

If you're looking for REAL Mexican food this is the place. It's very small but sure makes up in taste. Thursday is their "taco special" day. Great food, average portions, reasonable prices. Worth trying.

This spot really hits the spot. If you're looking for no frills, delicious Mexican food with a cold beer, this is the spot. I had the chichen enchiladas and they were super filling and muy delicioso! I'll definitely be going back.

Been coming here for a while and the chorizo burritos and menudo have always been the items I recommend. I haven't tried other plates but I am sure everything is good. Great service.

Food was ok. Typical Mexican taco shop. Service was slow and it was not even busy. Definitely a take out place and not so much of a dinning atmosphere.

Prices are too steep for the quality at this point. $5.99 for a standard bean and cheese burrito is a rip off price, especially when its nothing special. The beans were actually not very good. A plain cheese quesadilla is over $4.00 and its got minimal cheese. The chicken tacos have become flavorless and disappointing. They put a heaping teaspoon of chicken on them,unseasoned, no tomatoes, no pico, and the shells are not fresh made, but reheated. And these are $2.89 each. Every time I have gotten food here over the past year I have to add my own sour cream, cheese, tomato, etc to round out the food . I realize that prices for ingredients have gone up, however, for the same prices, you can go to a full service Mexican restaurant and receive a complete meal, fresh made, with the condiments you need, and their overhead is much higher. So, I am not sure why MSR is dropping the ball, but that was the last time in a while to go there for us. MSR, get rid of the menu board with all the food pictures, its tacky. Get a PROPER updated menu with all the prices listed. Pay attention to what youre sending out from the kitchen. Maybe you dont realize that the food isnt up to quality like it used to be. We will go back but if your prices stay as high as a full service place, maybe delete things off you menu so you can increase quality and offer better pricing.

Unfortunately, my food looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for a while and was thrown together because they were closing soon. The Carne Asada fries weren't even hot and crispy. They were Luke warm, had no flavor, and were hard/stale. My son liked his rolled tacos but even those I was not impressed with. The Horchata I ordered tasted like some thrown together sugary punch. It was tasty but not what I was expecting... definitely not authentic Horchata! Maybe a bad batch or end of the night lazy prep... but $30 later, I'm not happy! I miss a good Alberto's!!

While the soups here are delicious, I ordered the super carne asada nachos and it barely came with any carne asada at all. It mostly had only guacamole, sour cream, and cheese. I paid $11 for just that?! Disappointing!

I am very upset with my experiance at MSR. After eating I went to refill my soda and noticed something dangling from the soda spout. I got a napkin and wiped inside and there was mildew!!!! We all drank from that machine! I was so grossed out. I then looked into the fridge where they keep the salsa and was disgusted. There was mildew in there too! The beer pit was also all melted ice and I could see the bottom of of it. There was dirt layering the bottom. I couldn't get a picture of that but the place really is gross. Myself, my husband and my daughter ate there and there lack of cleanliness could have gotten us sick. I can only imagine how the kitchen looks if that's how they clean the areas that are in clear site of the customers. We will not be returning.

This is the worst mexican restaurant in Murrieta, I ordered 5 different plates and only one was good. I had to throw all to the trash. A lot of money down the drain. Don't eat here, you'll be sorry!

I ordered for the first time on door dash and there is a long hair in the burrito. I don't want to eat any of the food now because I am so grossed out. I'm disappointed because I ordered the albondigas because I am so sick right now and I'm scared to eat any of it. Throwing everything away.
