Had dinner at peak time on their second Saturday open and it was great! Food, service and drinks were all exceptional. My girlfriends and I shared 2 appetizers, the tomahawk steak which was definitely enough for 3-4 people with the 3 sides ordered. The menu is a la cart for the steaks, burgers and sides. We also shared dessert and got two cocktails each. I highly recommend reservations since there were several large parties. The restaurant did not feel over crowded or too loud even with the big groups it was hosting. It was not an inexpensive meal but was definitely worth the bill. I’ve already made plans to eat there again. Valet parking was included at the Embassy suites entrance. Just let them know you’re headed to Hand Cut!
This place and experience was amazing. Great location, great vibes, great service and a bonus…live music! The food is excellent honestly one if the best steaks if not the best steak I’ve ever had. Highly recommend the Filet Mignon…Medium Rare! Lol!
William was wonderful! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was all good around. Definitely will go back, especially if William is there.
William was awesome. Really enjoyed my 40th birthday at Handcut. Can’t wait to come back. Thanks!
Made a reservation for our 4 year wedding anniversary. We requested a table close to live music and they honored it with an amazing front table. The ambiance and restaurant was really nice, the live music on Saturday night was really nice as well, our server Maria was wonderful, she really made it a special night for us even getting us a free glass of nice champagne. The food was good but not perfect, filet mignon was cooked perfect just a little too much grill char on the outside kind of ruined the flavor but was still a great steak and the balsamic pasta was good but just a little to heavy on the balsamic, without the chicken add on it would've been rough. The butter cake was delicious. Their drinks were really nice, especially the waffle cone old fashioned. Overall opinion? For what you are paying the kitchen could try a little harder in the quality control area. The front of house staff is friendly, helpful and fun. The atmosphere and ambiance are great. Thank you Maria for making our special night so special!
Happy Hour is where it’s at! We were looking for an easy option to grab a quick snack prior to seeing a concert on Friday! No wait to be seated. Live music created the perfect ambiance in this beautiful location. We ordered the Wedge Salad, Salt & Vinegar Fries, Spinach Dip, and Blackberry Mojito! Everything was excellent! The wedge salad had the perfect amount of dressing. The fries…seriously amazing! The spinach dip was different, but very good! The BlackBerry Mojito was super flavorful! Our server was very attentive and super sweet. Will definitely return on our next visit to Nashville.
Got a last minute reservation which was a nice surprise on a Friday. Crowd was small at first but built quickly, the accomodated us with 3 and gave us a booth so we could see the live singers which was a great part of the experience. Started with the old fashioned which I assumed would be all show, but was actually very expertly done. Not watered down, a good pour, and really well mixed. The honey wings were also really excellent, see the picture (they were as good as they looked) My wife and I split the NY Strip and my daughter had the burger. The chopped wedge salad was also really well executed. Even though we split it, it was more than we could eat. For a steakhouse especially it was a really good value. The service was also a real high point. The GM Houston stopped by to check on our food and was just so kind in sharing his appreciation and his local knowledge about other spots we might try while in town. Such a genuine guy, it made an otherwise great experience really special.
I came here for my friend's birthday, and it was exquisite. The atmosphere and the aesthetic is amazing with amazing live music being played. Our server was Christian and he made my friend feel so extra special on her birthday. He really went above and beyond to make this a great experience. The drinks were amazing and the food was up to standard. WE LOVE YOU CHRISTIAN <33!!
I came here after having bad service at Sky Lounge, and let me tell you how amazing this place is! The steak was incredible, and the service was even better. The manager walked the floor and stopped by my table multiple times to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. After feeling so unwanted at Sky Lounge, that level of attention meant so much. The atmosphere here was fantastic, and the live music made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Love the wings and sliders. Also the waffle old fashion is my favorite. The staff is very polite especially Tori was excellent at making drinks. Plus live music.Definitely going back when im in Nashville
I love to visit when I am in Nashville! One of the best picks on/near Broadway. Darian did such an amazing job serving a large group for my 50th birthday that we returned with a group of ladies to celebrate a 21st birthday, where Darian provided another perfect night. They let us have a cake delivered and provided full service. Appetizers are great. Steaks perfectly grilled. Tomahawks are big enough for a large group to share with Salmon or other protein choices and several sides to give everyone a lot of options. Everything we have tried has been great. I'd say parties of 4+ are the most fun as it's not a very intimate space and the patio is on a busy street if you're looking for something romantic.
One of the BEST dining experiences I’ve ever had in Nashville! The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were top-notch, and the service was beyond exceptional. We were lucky to have William as our server—he went above and beyond to make my birthday celebration with friends so special. I ordered the Black Truffle Coulotte, and it was cooked to perfection with incredible flavor. Everything from start to finish felt thoughtful and elevated. If you’re visiting downtown Nashville, I HIGHLY recommend Hand Cut Chophouse. You won’t be disappointed!
My wife and I went to Hand Cut Chophouse Nashville for our 8th Anniversary. William was our server. He was phenomenal. I highly recommend this restaurant and ask for William. You will not be disappointed. Food was delicious and service was the best that we have experienced in a long time. Thank you, William for making our Anniversary special!
Good but the steak was overcooked, we ordered a medium well and was well done with a very strong charcoal flavor on it. The place it's beautiful and the staff very friendly.
Absolutely the best experience I’ve had in Nashville. Great food, service and hospitality from the host Alex (he goes by Walker). Coby is a rock star behind the bar, along with Tori. Taylor was our server and couldn’t have been better. Top 10 recommendation while in town.
This was a great location with great ambiance. Maria was a great waitress and made the dining experience so great. Definitely asking for her when we come back! The garlic butter was amazing! I’d eat it with a spoon.
Great food, service was on point and they had an acoustic artist play while we ate. He did great and had a good mix, the drinks were splendid and the food was worth a trip back.
Hand Cut Chophouse is one of the best restaurants in Nashville in my opinion! The food was delicious, drinks were amazing and the service was out of this world! We had William as our server and he was amazing! I had the Black Truffle Coulotte which was probably one of the best steaks I have ever had. My boyfriend had the Bone-In New York strip which he said was one of the best cuts of steak he has ever had. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting downtown Nashville!
A nice atmosphere and a pretty tasty steak. A bit pricey for the experience IMO. They were out of T-bone steaks. They fries were supposed hand cut, but they were nothing exceptional and overly salted…looked to be standard fare, not hand cut. Ordered a dirty martini, got regular olives then found out they had blue cheese ones which were never offered. Small stuff, but it adds up. Live music if you like that.
William, William, William, did not disappoint. Beautiful spirit and service! Great environment and food, pasta was a bit undercooked but great flavor. Overall, everything was great, especially, the brussels, tempura zucchini, and beets & burrata. The atmosphere was enjoyable and I'd highly recommend Hand Cut, and added bonus if you get William as your server.
I recently went to Handcut, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Our waiter was Darrien, who provided attentive and friendly service, making us feel right at home. The steaks were juicy and flavorful, cooked to perfection. The creamed corn was our favorite item on the menu by far! To top it all off, the espresso martinis were perfectly crafted with the right balance of rich coffee flavor and tequila. We ended up staying until close to listen to the live music. Overall, it was an amazing dining experience. I highly recommend. I can't wait to go back, and definitely ask for Darrian when you go!
Great dinning experience tonight ! It’s my birthday and we were hungry for steak , 🥩 but yet close to our hotel . Inside the Embassy hotel sits this nice restaurant. Our waiter Darrian was on point ! We even cut up with him throughout our meal . He was attentive but not over bearing which is just how we like it . The food was great , the drinks were strong and well worth the money , not disappointed at all. Other than the steak 🥩 the garlic mashed potatoes were amazing and the corn 🌽 Don’t forget dessert as we ordered to go the bread pudding , enough for 2 or 3 people to eat !! It was just as amazing Give them a try ✌🏻💙
Everything was wonderful. If you’re in downtown Nashville and love a calm and rustic scene, come to Handcut, you won’t be disappointed. My western burger was so tasty and the live music was great. Our waiter Christian was superb and very helpful.
Great dinner and awesome service! Had a really great experience at Hand Cut. The food was solid! Steak was cooked perfectly, and everything came out great and flavorful. Our waitress Maria was super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. It’s always nice when someone makes you feel genuinely welcome, and Maria definitely did that. Big thanks to her for making the night even better!
We had a great experience. We came down from the the hotel just for drinks. The food looked so good one of us tried the chicken sandwich which was amazing. Our server, Maria, was awesome and helpful. They had live entertainment who did a great job and took request. Everyone in the restaurant enjoyed it.
My friend Jackson and I were visiting from San Diego and exploring downtown Nashville when we came across this beautiful restaurant. The prices looked fair, so we decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did!! I ordered the truffle burger with a glass of wine, and it was hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The ingredients were incredible, and everything was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere made the experience even better. There was live music that sounded fantastic, and the volume was just right. It was enough to enjoy but still easy to carry on a conversation. And then there was our waitress. Her name is Maria. She was kind, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. She gave helpful suggestions and truly added a personal touch that made the night unforgettable. This is a meal and experience I’ll always remember. Thank you, Maria, for making our visit so special! If I visit Nashville again, I am definitely coming back to Hand Cut!
Restaurants has great ambiance, upscale yet cozy. Service was friendly and attentive from hostess to server to manager. Great bar and drink offerings. Smoked Old fashioned was awesome. We had a ribeye and tenderloin, both were perfect. Great menu. Live music kind of in the background which was great while conversing over dinner.
I had the short rib, it was perfectly cooked, shredding apart. I liked that there was live music, but quieter so it was still an upscale dining experience. At the price point for this type of food/ambiance in downtown Nashville it was a good value. Our server was very friendly and helpful as well.
Excellent steakhouse. Nicely decorated. Good vibes with a live singer. William was very attentive making sure everything was perfect. Ribeye was cooked perfectly. The manager, Walker, did a fantastic job, very personable and follows up with his staff making sure you have a pleasant dining experience. Will return when back in Nashville, highly recommend.
Went here with my wife and brother and his wife last week. This was my wife’s first time in Nashville and decided to try this place out since my brother and sister in law have never been here either. Let me tell you the first thing when we walked in the place looked very upscale and I actually thought I was underdressed but turned out I wasn’t. The food was amazing and the owner stopped by our table and spoke to us about the place. Jack is the friendliest person I have met in a long time. Had a great time there and would recommend this place to everyone. Whether you are just stopping by for dinner or to celebrate a special occasion Hand Cut is the place to go.
We love dining here on New Years Eve. The Fried Zuccini appetizer is always amazing- you think there's too many and suddenly you've eaten them all! The steaks are perfection, my husband says. The Balsamic Tomato Bucatini was a little too "balsamic" IMO. Couldnt eat much of it. All in all, this is a great restaurant!
I had my birthday dinner her and it was a wonderful experience. Christian was amazing! He got us free dessert and champagne. If your looking for a place with a great ambiance and great food this is perfect place for you.
I cannot say enough great things about William! From the moment we sat down, he went above and beyond to make our experience absolutely perfect. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcomed and cared for the entire time. William had the perfect balance of professionalism and personality, he anticipated what we needed before we even asked, and he made the whole meal feel special. It’s rare to come across someone who takes so much pride in their work, and it truly showed. If every restaurant had a William, dining out would always be five stars. Thank you, William, for turning a simple meal into an outstanding experience, we’ll definitely be back and will be asking for you!
We ended our time in Nashville at this restaurant, and I’m so glad we did. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We went with a large group and every single one of us raved about what we had ordered. Everything was perfectly seasoned, cooked, and executed. The service was also top notch! We had William as a server and he was so attentive, great at conversation, and very knowledgeable about the menu. 10/10 recommend!
Came in with a group of friends and this place offers a truly elevated dining experience where the quality of the food is matched by the exceptional service!! The entire meal was a pleasure, and the service was nothing short of fantastic, with our waiter, Alisha, being a highlight. Her attentive, genuine, and warm approach made the experience feel personal and special, ensuring every need was anticipated and met with a friendly smile. Alisha's excellent service, combined with the chic ambiance and delicious, high-quality food, makes Hand Cut Chophouse a highly recommended spot for a memorable night out in Music City. We will be coming in again!
I have lived in Nashville over 6 years and just tried this place. It was amazing! We went for a date night and Maria, our server, was so kind and so on top of everything. She made us feel welcome and was such a sweetheart. The food was delicious, and live music was incredible. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a nice date night spot!
Love this place. I got a filet that cut like butter and was seasoned very well. The blackberry mojito is delicious, as are the Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese. Our waiter William was kind and attentive and I will definitely come back!
Went for our anniversary and had Darrian as our server. He went above and beyond for us. We split a Caesar salad to start and they actually brought it out split! It was a great touch. My husband got a tomahawk steak and enjoyed every bite. I got the smallest steak they had and it was delicious. Everything cooked to perfection and our server was amazing! We would definitely go back if in the area again.
Came for dinner as it was close to my hotel. The vibe and decor of this spot is modern and fresh. They have a small outside dinning area and a nice size bar. Additionally, they have ample seating. They were showing football when I went in and then had live music around 6pm. Food itself was fairly good but a bit pricey foe what you got. Waiter was nice and fairly timely, on a few occasions there were delays but nothing major. Worth a stop if you're in the area.
Service was outstanding my steak was cooked very nicely just didn't have much flavor 🤔 as for the sides that I didn't take pictures of were amazing every thing from the vinegar fries the citrus asparagus and the mashed potatoes 😋
The vibe was amazing, service was outstanding, was expecting more from the food. Usually places with such a small menu do what they do super well. We weren't blown away with this one, unfortunately
We showed up at 530pm (with a reservation) and the hostess seated us next to another couple, very close to each other. But it wasn't necessary since there were a lot of open tables. We ordered a house salad side dish and I was very disappointed. It was mostly white romaine. Not appealing to me. I let our waiter, William, know and he said he would remove the item from our bill. I tried the braised beef and it was very good. The sauce was very tasty. My wife tried the black truffle coulotte. It was cooked perfectly and has a buttery truffle. Very good tasting. The decor is very nice and there was a live singer on stage. Open space but most tables are close to each other. The check included the unsatisfactory salad, so I mentioned it to the William and he apologize for the mistake. Overall, I think it's overpriced. I won't be returning.
This place has a nice vibe with some good live music. The drinks were good when we got them but everything took forever. The service as a whole was abysmal, we got our appetizers after our meals and then didn't receive all of our food at once. One steak came out with the wrong temperature and we had to send it back. The food was good but like I said just took forever. The server was nice but she was nowhere to be found half the time. While she did comp the appetizers, it was still a very poor dining experience overall.
We ate here recently and had a solid experience overall, with a few things that kept it from being a true standout—especially for the price point. Our server, Christian, was excellent. He was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without being intrusive. The drinks were a highlight: I had the Waffle Cone Old Fashioned (really well done), and my wife enjoyed the Blackberry Mojito. For an appetizer we tried the Aji Stack. It was decent, but the avocado and cucumber came through more than the tuna. The wontons, however, were excellent. One funny downside: the plate it was served on spun when you tried to scoop from it, which made it oddly difficult to eat—interesting, but not ideal. For dinner, my wife ordered the marinated flat iron and really enjoyed it. I had the filet mignon. The filet was fine, but there was too much char and it overpowered the flavor. On the other hand, the sides were great—especially the Brussels sprouts and the salt and vinegar fries. My biggest issue is value. At this price level, I expected a bit more consistency, and it was disappointing that they don’t validate parking at the attached Embassy hotel. If you’re charging premium pricing, parking is something you should help guests with. Overall, I’d consider going back, mainly for the service and sides, but it wouldn’t be my first choice if I’m specifically in the mood for steak.
Starting with the good Live music was wonderful The steak was incredible, you could cut it with a butter knife. The mashed potatoes, I could eat with every meal for the rest of time Now onto the bad Every other dish was bad. I don't say that lightly. The salmon was fishy, pasta sauce was lack luster, and the mac and cheese was cold. Service was slow, they served us an appetizer without plates and it took about 20 minutes to flag someone down. Someone took 2 of our waters without asking, right after they were delivered. Again took 20 minutes to get us new water. Our group was so disappointed for this being a very special meal, celebrating my friends 30th birthday (intimate group of 4 of us, for clarification that our party size wasn't what impacted service) I wouldnt suggest going here, quality just wasnt the name of the game here.
Unfortunately, our dinner did not meet our expectations. The food and service was very mediocre compared to the prices on the menu. Our steaks tasted burnt. They really did not have a good flavor at all. The salads were ok. The appetizers were ok. The macaroni and cheese was the best thing we ordered. This is definitely a one and done and would not recommend to anyone looking for a quality restaurant experience in Nashville. You will be disappointed. Pay a few dollars more and go to a nicer steakhouse. 1.5/5
Mediocre experience. Food was average. Zucchini fries were bland. Steak was tough. Service was slow. They were busy but had plenty of floor staff. We sat at the bar. The bar staff was more concerned with chatting with each other. The best part were the two guys playing on stage. Only came here because it's attached to the hotel we were staying in. Wouldn't recommend unless you have no other choice.
Overpriced everything. We both got steak and we ask for med done it was sooo chewy and I as burn. Food was super salty. We paid 230$ for all this
February 14 2026 39 anniversary, experience was awful the food was brunt and bloody we order well done ribeye steaks the vegetables was not seasoned. THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL UP SCALE DINNING, NO THANKS, TEXAS ROADHOUSE STEAKS TASTE BETTER YALL CAN KEEP THIS MESS, BY THE WAY OUR TICKET WAS $223. INCLUDING TIP SO, WE WERE THERE CELEBRATING OUR 39TH ANNIVERSARY, I LEFT VERY DISAPPOINTED 😞
I dined at this restaurant with a group of four to celebrate a birthday. We’re locals who live nearby and were really looking forward to a great experience — unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. From the moment we were seated, the service felt rushed. I ordered the chicken sandwich with cheese, but the cheese was forgotten. While they did bring a slice on a plate afterward for me to add myself, the chicken itself was a bit dry. The sides and drinks were fine, but that’s where the positives ended. The service throughout the meal was disappointing. Our waiter cleared some of the sides before everyone at the table had finished eating, asked about dessert while we were still in the middle of our main course, and even brought out the checks before we were done with dinner. The entire meal lasted less than 90 minutes, and it felt like the staff was more focused on turning over tables than providing a quality dining experience. We spent over $250, yet left unsatisfied — I actually walked out still hungry because our plates were taken away too soon. That’s simply unacceptable for a restaurant that presents itself as fine dining. As locals, we like to support nearby restaurants, but based on this experience, I can’t recommend this one. The service needs significant improvement before we’d consider returning. They also did not respond back to the email in regards to this experience.
